Comparing home broadband deals in Liverpool

Liverpool residents will be pleased to find their city offers an outstanding level of home broadband service.

Pretty much all premises have access to superfast, fibre optic broadband for average speeds of up to 63-68Mb on regular telephone lines with the Openreach network. In addition, over 79% can sign up to download speeds of up to 1.13Gb with Virgin Media. Over 91% of addresses can access full fibre connections (FTTP) and there is a 50% chance of availability from the smaller, alternative network providers (altnets) for even more choice.

Broadband coverage can vary slightly depending on your location, though. When you enter your address into the broadband comparison table above, we’ll only show the packages that should be available at your home. When you click through to a provider, further checks will be carried out to confirm the service is available.

What's the future of broadband in Liverpool?

In 2015, Liverpool was added to the list of gigabit cities in the UK when Hyperoptic installed FTTP connections to several developments around the city, including Wapping Quay, Dock Mill and Hamilton House.

Broadband upgrades in and around Liverpool were previously managed by the Merseyside Connected project, which has been responsible for millions of pounds worth of infrastructure improvements. Now it's supporting the rollout of the Government's Project Gigabit scheme, which aims to give access to 1Gb broadband to all homes in the UK by 2030.

Comparing mobile broadband in Liverpool

Liverpool has very good mobile coverage with all four networks - EE, O2, Three and Vodafone - providing 5G coverage to the city centre and many outlying areas. That means you should have no trouble getting fast mobile broadband wherever you are.

Remember, coverage can vary even within locations where this is otherwise a strong signal. The transmissions can be blocked by buildings or other obstructions, so you should check first if you’re planning on using mobile broadband in a specific area.

Sponsored deals are not factored in when sorting by popularity.

Pricing Calculation

Effective monthly cost = This shows how much you are effectively paying each month over the length of the contract by taking into account rewards savings and one-off fees. The calculation for this is monthly cost x length of contract + setup cost - rewards savings.

Monthly cost = What you'll pay each month. This does not include additional fees, such as phone calls, which may be added to your bill.

Setup cost = The cost of installation, postage for the Wi-Fi router, and any other one-off charges.

Total Price Rise Costs = This is the additional amount paid over the course of the contract based on any annual price rises by the provider.

Rewards saving = The value of vouchers and other perks included with a deal such as cashback, bill credit or a gift card which you can claim.

What does this mean?

The speedometer gives you a quick idea of how fast a deal is. Speeds are shown in average download speed (Mb/Gb) – here’s what each level means:

💡 Tip: You don’t always need the highest speed, but it can help make things smoother and future-proof your home.

What is a trending deal?

A trending deal is a package that has increased in popularity in recent days. We base this on the number of people clicking on, and buying the deal.
