TalkTalk Broadband Deals
TalkTalk offers good value deals. It also has fantastic availability across the UK. TalkTalk's low-cost network area is the largest in Britain. This means that most households in urban and central areas can sign up for their standard phone line broadband, and more rural and remote homes are covered than by any other local loop unbundling (LLU) provider.
For fibre, TalkTalk use the fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) technology provided by Openreach. This has wide coverage, of more than 95% of UK homes. TalkTalk will only sell their fibre services to customers within their low-cost network area, but since there's a significant overlap between fibre and LLU areas, only a small percentage of homes will not be able to sign up.
If you enter your postcode into our deals checker, we can almost guarantee you’ll be able to sign up to at least TalkTalk two of its entry-level packages - TalkTalk Fibre 35 or TalkTalk Fibre 65.
There’s good news too if you’re keen to get hold of a reasonably priced TV service. All TalkTalk customers have the option to bundle in NOW TV memberships on a rolling monthly basis, as well as an extra Netflix subscription.
Plus, if you want a convenient landline option on top, signing up to a bundled TalkTalk broadband and phone deal should shave a bit off your bills.
Let’s look at its packages in more detail.
TalkTalk Broadband: key features

TalkTalk broadband only deals
As TalkTalk broadband uses the BT Openreach network to power its services, you’ll find a similar choice of speeds as many other internet service providers also on the same network.
Here are your choices:
TalkTalk Fast Broadband (ADSL)
This is a basic broadband service that will soon become obsolete. This is because it's an ADSL service that's delivered through a copper phone line. By the end of January 2027, the UK's traditional lines will be switched off, in favour of digital lines.
Many providers are starting to limit access to these slower ADSL products. For this reason, you may not be able to sign up to Fast Broadband if you have a fibre network serving your home.
Either way, if you need more speed, or if you share your connection with housemates or family, we would advise taking it up a notch and considering TalkTalk fibre optic.
Suitable for light internet users only. We highly recommend choosing a fibre connection if you can. You’ll actually save money on the monthly cost.
TalkTalk Fibre 35
Fibre optic broadband offers much better speeds than ADSL, and it works out cheaper, too. With average download speeds of 38Mb, TalkTalk Fibre 35 is a solid, superfast fibre choice.
A good option if you want to stream TV, or if there are a couple of you online at one time.
TalkTalk Fibre 65
The fastest TalkTalk standard broadband service most of us can get is TalkTalk Fibre 65. This provides a broadband speed of 77Mb, ideal for large families or households.
In most cases, if you can get TalkTalk Fibre 35 you’ll find Fibre 65 is also an option. And quite often at the same price.
This will be a good option if one or more of you work from home. You’ll comfortably be able to stream in HD.
TalkTalk Fibre 150
TalkTalk Full Fibre 150 offers a big boost in speed with an average download rate of 152Mb.
Fibre 150 uses a technology called G.fast. This uses the same network lines as TalkTalk Fibre 35 and 65, but with upgrades to enable better speeds. However, coverage remains very limited compared to standard ADSL and fibre broadband, so only a few homes in the UK can get this.
Suitable for larger homes, casual internet use and streaming on up to 4 devices at a time.
TalkTalk Fibre 500 & TalkTalk Fibre 900
Need something even quicker? TalkTalk Fibre 500 and Fibre 900 are both ultrafast, full fibre options and deliver an average speed of 525Mb or 925Mb.
This is achieved by using an FTTP or Fibre-to-the-Premises optic network. This is where fibre lines run all the way from the cabinet into your home. The catch? Not everyone can get full fibre broadband packages just yet. You can use our postcode checker to find out if it’s an option in your area.
How fast is TalkTalk broadband?

TalkTalk Fibre 65 | 13 mins |
TalkTalk Fibre 150 | 5 mins |
TalkTalk Fibre 500 | 1 min 44 secs |

Does TalkTalk offer a Social Tariff?
Unfortunately, TalkTalk doesn’t offer a social tariff to those on benefits. However, if you’re looking for work, you may be able to claim six months free and unlimited fibre broadband.
For more information on TalkTalk’s free broadband for jobseekers, visit our guide, ‘social tariffs and cheaper broadband if you’re on benefits’.
Can I get TalkTalk full fibre broadband?
TalkTalk broadband uses the BT Openreach network, which runs across the majority of the UK, so the chances of you being able to sign up to a TalkTalk broadband deal are good. However, the choice of packages and the speed you’ll get will depend on your location. Not everyone can get full fibre broadband yet. This is because the rollout of full fibre is ongoing. At the time of writing, less than half of UK homes have access to a full fibre service with an Openreach provider. But that figure is rising all the time.
The first step to buying any broadband service is to check availability in your area with a postcode check. Something you can do right here on Broadband Genie. Try it now!
If you’re not seeing TalkTalk full fibre deals just yet, you can put your postcode into the Openreach fibre checker. Once you get your results, you can select ‘Keep me updated’ and enter your details to receive announcements on new full fibre developments.
TalkTalk TV
As well as broadband only deals, TalkTalk also offers TV and broadband plans.
TalkTalk TV includes a 4K TV box that’s capable of UltraHD. As well as over 70 Freeview channels, the basic TV package gives access to 30 catch up apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and All4.
For an extra £5 per month, customers can upgrade to an Android-powered TV Hub box. This allows you to pause and rewind live TV.
You also have the options to add on NOW memberships. These include:
NOW Entertainment (additional £9.99 per month)
This includes entertainment channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Max and Sky Kids channels
NOW Cinema (additional £9.99 per month)
For access to the latest blockbusters and Sky Original movies.
NOW Sports (additional £34.99 per month)
Includes access to the biggest live events, including Premier League, Formula 1 and International Cricket, through all eleven Sky Sports channels.
Fibre 65 with Netflix and Fibre 35 with Netflix
Available on a 24-month contract, these 67Mb and 38Mb packages allow you to add Netflix Standard for one price, on the same bill.
TalkTalk calls packages
Not all TalkTalk phone and broadband packages come with inclusive calls. If you do use a landline to make calls without a pre-agreed package, you'll be charged at TalkTalk’s standard per-minute rate.
Call boosts available for an extra monthly price. These only have a one-month contract length, so you can cancel easily if you find you’re not using your phone. The add-ons aren’t expensive and can save a great deal of money in the run, especially if you use your phone for international calls.
- Unlimited UK Calls: unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles at any time.
- UK Evening & Weekend Calls: unlimited UK calls from 7pm on weekdays and all day at the weekend (for the first 60 minutes)
- International Max: 1500 inclusive minutes to landlines and mobiles in 50 countries, plus discount rates on all other calls.
TalkTalk call boosts can be added to or removed from your package at any time without penalty.
TalkTalk Digital Voice
By the end of January 2027 the UK's traditional copper phone lines will be switched off. This means, to make calls, you'll need to plug your home phone into your TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub. The good news is this does away with extra line rental charges.
Alternatively, the TalkTalk Digital Voice mobile app allows you to make and receive calls using your landline number on your mobile phone.
This Digital Voice service is currently available to existing TalkTalk customers who upgrade their package to a full fibre deal.
For more information on how TalkTalk are handling this, visit our guide to the PSTN switch-off.
Will my TalkTalk broadband package get a mid-contract price hike?
In 2024, TalkTalk customers saw their packages rise by 7.7%. Sadly, this is a common trend among many broadband providers.
Anyone joining after 12 August 2024 will receive a flat rate increase of £3 per month from April 2025.
If you’re keen to make sure you won’t see a price increase above the rate of inflation for the duration of your contract, you can sign up to ‘TalkTalk Fixed Price Plus’. However, this will cost an extra £4 per month.
What Wi-Fi broadband router do I get with TalkTalk?
TalkTalk currently hands out a free TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub when new customers sign up to TalkTalk Fast Broadband, Fibre 35 and Fibre 65.
Meanwhile, if you’re on a full fibre package you’ll receive either an Amazon Eero 6 or Eero Pro 6, depending on the package.

Which TalkTalk package should I choose?
TalkTalk's packages have the same terms, so your choice comes down to what speed you need.
Smaller households, or those with less demanding requirements, may find that the Fast Broadband packages offer sufficient speeds. If you use the internet mostly for browsing, email and social networking, and maybe one user watching Netflix or iPlayer, then the 11Mb average speed offering could be fast enough. However, speeds are affected by several factors, including how far your home is from your nearest telephone exchange. Make sure you base your decision on the real-world speed estimate TalkTalk provides you.
For larger households, or those that want to use the internet for constant streaming, gaming or downloading, a fibre plan is likely to be more suitable. If the 38Mb average speed still doesn't seem like enough, TalkTalk offers the option to upgrade to a service with 67Mb average speed if it's available in your area.
Other factors to consider are whether you want to add TV services to your plan. Your options here are for the basic Freeview channels with a box that enables you to pause and rewind shows, or for a premium package with the ability to record shows as well as access on-demand services. In both cases, there's also the option to add premium channels without long-term commitment. Your subscriptions renew every month and you can cancel whenever you want.
Points to consider before you choose
- How far do you live from your local BT telephone exchange, and will this greatly impact your ADSL speeds?
- How many people will be using your broadband connection at any one time, especially for heavy downloading or online gaming?
- Would an 18-month contract be too long for you?
- Do you watch a lot of TV, or make lots of phone calls?
- Do you want to be able to record programmes?
- Is your connection fast enough (2Mb or more) to support streamed TV?
