What is No Credit Check Broadband?

A broadband package with no credit check means you won’t get rejected for a new deal because you have a poor credit history.

This is great news if you have any flags in your financial history, if you’ve ever filed for bankruptcy, you have County Court Judgements (CCJs), or you have a bad credit score.

It’s also good for anyone worried about being rejected due to their financial past.

What are the best alternatives if you can’t pass a credit check?

Try a rolling monthly plan

Some providers skip long-term contracts and don’t require a credit check, including:

Just be aware: monthly rolling broadband plans often comes with a higher upfront cost or equipment fees.

FAQs: no credit check broadband

We asked credit expert Sheraz Dar of CreditLadder to answer a few questions about all things credit-related.

  • Are there any reliable no credit check broadband providers?

Yes. Plusnet broadband does not carry out a credit check and also won the title of ‘Best Broadband Provider’ in our 2025 Broadband Awards.

In Broadband Genie’s user survey, it performed well for being a reliable internet service provider. We believe it offers good value for money and scores well for user-friendliness.

  • Will I still get a free Wi-Fi router with a no credit check deal?

Yes – most providers include a free router. Some may charge a small delivery fee.

  • What is a credit check?

A credit check, or credit search, is when a company looks at your financial background to assess whether they can provide you with credit (like a loan or mobile phone contract). The check will always be done with the customer’s permission.

  • Why might I fail a broadband credit check?

Missed payments, defaults, or County Court Judgements (CCJs) can all impact your score and lead to rejection.

  • Are no credit check broadband deals more expensive?

No. No credit check providers are competitively priced, especially compared to rolling monthly contracts or mobile broadband.

  • How long do defaults stay on my credit record?

Defaults usually stay for six years, even if you've paid them off. If what they have is inaccurate, you can contact the relevant credit reference agency and have it removed. Although you’ll still need proof that it’s inaccurate.

  • How can I check my credit history?

There are several ways you can check what information the main credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion and Crediva) hold on you. You could approach them directly or go via sites such as checkmyfile, Clearscore or CreditKarma, to name but a few.

Some services are free, some are paid for. There does tend to be a difference in what they offer you. For example, some might only show you your credit report with one credit reference agency, while others might show it for all four. Different lenders use different credit reference agencies, and quite often they will use two or even three.

Don't let bad credit stop you getting online

Our deals are sorted by how popular they are with our visitors. The more people clicking on a deal - especially if they then buy it - the higher it is in our tables.

Sponsored deals are not factored in when sorting by popularity.

Pricing Calculation

Effective monthly cost = This shows how much you are effectively paying each month over the length of the contract by taking into account rewards savings and one-off fees. The calculation for this is monthly cost x length of contract + setup cost - rewards savings.

Monthly cost = What you'll pay each month. This does not include additional fees, such as phone calls, which may be added to your bill.

Setup cost = The cost of installation, postage for the Wi-Fi router, and any other one-off charges.

Total Price Rise Costs = This is the additional amount paid over the course of the contract based on any annual price rises by the provider.

Rewards saving = The value of vouchers and other perks included with a deal such as cashback, bill credit or a gift card which you can claim.

What does this mean?

The speedometer gives you a quick idea of how fast a deal is. Speeds are shown in average download speed (Mb/Gb) – here’s what each level means:

💡 Tip: You don’t always need the highest speed, but it can help make things smoother and future-proof your home.

What is a trending deal?

A trending deal is a package that has increased in popularity in recent days. We base this on the number of people clicking on, and buying the deal.
