Mis-sold Plusnet “900Mbps” – Only ~280Mbps in Reality
Signed up for Plusnet’s 900Mbps broadband but speeds have consistently been around 280Mbps, confirmed by their own support:
“we have run a wireless test today and the speed that came back was 284.69mbps.”
Plusnet’s response was essentially to say the 900Mbps doesn’t apply to wireless and that speeds are only “guaranteed on a wired connection and not wireless.” They even refused a technician visit because I can’t run an Ethernet test — despite most modern devices not having Ethernet ports. They also told me I should have known the minimum was supposedly 500Mbps “set out in your contract.”
From day one, instead of trying to deliver the service they advertise, Plusnet quibbled over contractual technicalities I hadn’t even seen yet. Mis-leading sale and poor customer support overall. -

We had issues switching over between them and sky to start with, which wasn't their fault. However it caused my husband, who has to work from home, to not have broadband access for nearly a month. He had to use his phone, which cost a lot, so Plusnet gave us money back even though it wasn't their fault -
