There are 5 users in my household. The router is located in the front of the house. I have 2 extenders to get access at back and top of house. Broadband speed is loa and unreliable regardless of location in house. Tried to contact o2 customer service with no luck.

Been with o2 for over 5 years now and have never received anything less than excellent service. Moved house 4 years ago and service was seamless. Staff at Customer Service Helpdesk are very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend o2.

O2's strong point, in my experience, is their customer service. I've been lied to by Talktalk and messed around for years by Tiscali; switching to O2 is like returning to sanity after being mentally ill. They're not just sane, they're positively helpful, pleasant and professional. OK speed could be a bit higher - I get around 12Mb approx 1.5 miles from exchange - but service has never been interrupted in nearly 3 years, and I don't get any trouble over usage - and I certainly watch a lot of TV via iPlayer, 4OD etc. My kids are online gamers too, and appreciate the consistent service. I just hope O2 get into fibre soon, I don't want to switch away from the best customer service I've ever had, not just from an ISP, from anything.

Great speeds when 1st joined 02.Last 12 months between 34kbps and 3Mb.Nearly always under 2Mb. Dont download music,movies etc.Dont play games.Paying £14.50 for this.Should have changed months ago about to do so now

Just signed up with O2 (after years of indecision about changing) and cannot praise them highly enough for the quality of the service and support. First class and my download speed is 100% faster than previous supplier. Their UK based call centre staff are the most courteous we have ever dealt with- they phoned us back twice to ensure our set up was completed to our satisfaction and you get through without being on hold for ages. The service is everything they promised. Seemless move from previous phone and broadband suppliers (as well as significant cost saving) and they kept us informed at every stage. Well done O2 just hope it continues.

Can not fault O2 in anyshape or form and I disagree with the negative claims being made by other reviewers. Only yesterday there was a possible fault in my area. I was sent a text message to inform me of this as it may of affected my internet connection. And today I was sent an update text informing me that everything was running as it should be. No other ISP I have been with has provided this service. When I have had the need to contact Tech Support whether my call is answered in either Ireland or Scotland the staff are always fully focused, they listen to get the full facts in order to resolve the very (and I mean VERY) minor issues I have had. Where faults have occured that could not of been prevented the following day I have always received a telephone call the following day to see how things are (ie is everything running as it should be or have other issues occured etc.) I would like to point out that yes there has been some issues regarding service but as I have said they have always been very minor. Speed wise can not fault the speeds at all they have always remained consistent and O2 supply the speed they advertise aswell. For me O2 is the number one ISP in the UK and other more larger companies should take note because O2 are putting them to shame.

For some weeks my broadband speed has been around half a megabyte, when it gets down to this level, Google mail will not load at all and I am obliged to go to HTML to get mail. This frequently occurrs when there is heavy usage of the BT line like evenings and school holidays. It used to be better than this at 1 1/2 Mbts, and seems to have deteriorated just at the time you have advised me that chgarges are to be increased. Is there anything that I can do about it? In the 2 years with O2 both my download and upload speeds have DROPPED by just over 20%! No I have not moved house! First line support, handled in Ireland, is superb with very helpful staff. However if one needs more it swiftly becomes mired... If the Post Office decided that it was now your postman's job to look through your mail every morning and burn on the pavement outside your house what HE thought to be junk mail how would you feel? This is what O2 do with YOUR email... Every other ISP place what it thinks is spam into a spam folder. Then YOU can look through it and decide whether it is or not. Not O2. The techies tell me this should not happen and that it's wrong and should never happen. Management (the O2 Executive Office) tell me that they are NOT going to do anything about it - period. People NEED to know.

Seems too good to be true - fast broadband at an affordable price. But pray nothing goes wrong! O2 recently moved to a new set of packages, and they've made a mess of it. We've now waited for a month and haven't even been given home phone yet. This wouldn't be such a problem, being on BT's end of the line, if it weren't for the fact that customer services have repeatedly lied to us and promised various things which never happened. Turns out we need to speak to their 'connections' department. Good luck getting there - since apparently they don't take direct calls, and issue you a case number and 'review date' with it. Unfortunately, that 'review date' tends to magically change to always be 'tomorrow'. In short, after 5 days of being told we'd have our case looked at the next day, we've given up. Screw O2 - they're just not delivering. You're better off paying a little more for an actual service!

I have been with O2 BB for about 2 years following lamentable service from another provider; famous for not having had sex yet. (If I named them they'd probably delete the review). Not only has O2 been very reliable with few outages or sometimes the odd reduction on speed, their customer service is fast, responsive and on the money. I believe O2 is not only as good as it gets, it's as good as it's possible to get in the real world. I highly recommend them.

Although advertised as truly unlimited this is a con, they have sent me a disconnection letter for reaching my 40GB download limit in a month, I use my broadband for work (which involves a lot of streaming video) as well as playing games and downloading from iTunes, and they have completely left me in the lurch despite a conversation I had about the lack of caps and fair use policies I had with there sales rep when signing up, utterly rubbish customer service!

pros: Fast speed Activation quick cons: "Unlimited" my backside. It states in their Q&A, and I quote: "How much should I cut my broadband use? Most O2 customers use less than 10GB a month. Aim for that and you’ll be okay. O2 Home Broadband is unlimited. Why are you telling me to use less? We don't set a limit on how much you can use each month. Most people use a different amount each month. But if we've asked you to cut back, it's because you’re consistently above the monthly average. And you’re regularly slowing other people down." So the monthly average is 10gb. So much for 'unlimited' eh? By the way, if you go over the allowance which is so called 'Unlimited', you get a terse email that if you do not cut down your usage your contract will be terminated. This means you can watch 45 mins of SD programs on BBC iplayer every day ..... and you can't do anything else on the internet!! This is not someone disgruntled, O2 have moved the goalposts on all access users, without warning. They just want people who use facebook all day .... and not someone who actually uses the internet. You can't use STEAM ... too much bandwidth No iPlayer .... too much bandwidth No XBox Live .... demos and trailers use too much bandwidth No trailers on Apple ..... too much bandwidth Forget YouTube .... oh and by the way BBC's site is too graphic intensive, you may want to load the text only version

Customer service (though limited to 24hr call-back) is generally excellent, speed (though I'm only 0.6km from my nearest exchange) is excellent for my standard package (nearly 14MB) Outages/slowdowns are very rare and only last a minute or so. Though distance from the exchange is a big performance factor, its hard to fault o2 really. Bills are very low, web services are very good.

Have been using the service for the last two years and it has been very smooth. 12-13Mbps download and 1.2Mbps upload consistently regarless of time of day. Much better upload than the Virgin service in this area. Better value that Virgin in the area for the speed. A great service.

when on sky got up to [regularly] av.5700 download, average o2 =2652download. did have av.5432 sept`09. o2 seem to have a fair bit of trouble keeping email open 24hrs/day very bad of late [excuse updating equipment]my line is 0.6 miles from exchange and o2 said I should get up to 10M [only get 2.3M]

uk call centres fast reliable friendly and when they say they will call back they really do??? Imagine! Just done a series of speed test because BT have sent a mail shot saying Iam currentley only getting 6.5 mb they are offering me mb actual ave speed closer to 12mb. dont beleive BT mail shots
