Already felt a bit suspicious of Direct Save after they'd given us a date for router delivery, only for no-one to show up all day. Delivery was rescheduled and we received the router; it's been terrible ever since. Slow, spotty broadband with consistent loss of internet, to the point of having to reset the router every hour just to get 30 minutes of stable internet access; with a cheap and cheerful outdated modem. It is exceedingly easy to see why Direct Save isn't amongst the household names of Sky and Virgin Media. Don't settle for less, as you clearly get what you pay for.

Had Broadband installed in August 2023. It didn't work properly, with poor and intermittent service. They eventually sent out an engineer and I was told this would be free of charge. They fixed the faulty box in November and today (8th January) I received their invoice for £193 for engineer call out. Shocked? Obviously I called them only to be spoken to with contempt and rudeness by unhelpful so called "Service Agents". Even after speaking to a "manager" they flatly refused to remove the engineer charge (or even reduce it). Absolutely dreadful company: their policy is "once we have them in contract we can totally rip them off". My advice? Don't use them and if you do, certainly don't trust them!

I would give 0 stars if I could! Signed up but only had Internet for about a week. It was so slow and kept cutting out. I decided to cancel. They said I had to pay the full year! As the 14 day cooling off period starts from the day I signed up, not from the day it went live!! What's the point in that. Then it went down completely for 3 days! Everytime I called, the staff were rude and said they don't have a crystal ball! I did swap to another company now. But I'm getting letters from dept collectors for over £300!! Direct save said they charging me for the WiFi box! Even when it was still in use and told them I would send back, once my new Internet is connected! Total rip off and rubbish WiFi! I would avoid at all costs!

I was quite satisfied until my line came down in the wind in winter the cable was snapped they acted fast it was fixed no problem. Then they tried to take £218 out of my bank I rang them and I explained I didn't have to pay as it was outside my house this is correct. The manager basically called me and my wife a liar stating that the line was only replaced because I wanted it upgrading. this was a blatant lie the line was in two halves but to try and get me to pay they stated it was upgraded. I an so angry I have now gone over to another ISP Direct Save can Swivel. Beware.

I have never had broadband on my line since March 2023. it is now June, in the start of may they agreed to mutually terminate the contract as they could not provide the service, I have paid over £80 for a service I have not received, I call them every week for updates. I have emailed them asking for the call transcripts as I am going to the Ombudsman. if I could have give zero stars I would have, avoid. I am waiting for a manager to call me since last week to discuss the service.

should have read all those negative feedbacks before joining! 3 days after 'going live' still no internet Called and been told there is a problem with my line - (nota bene, it DID work 4 day ago when I still was with someone else!!!) It would take 4 days for an engineer to come into my flat to fix it. Wanted to cancel and go back to my previuse provider, only to find out I need to pay £200 cancelletion fee They ask you to wait 2 weeks to activate your line and when later you find out it's not working, they tell you it has been over 14 days and you have to pay a cancelletion fee! AVOID

Great service from Direct Save. Moved into a new house and have not been able to get broadband from any mainstream providers for various silly reasons. Direct save got me connected in 2 working days without any issues. Always answered the phone quickly and actually spoke to me like a person, not like the usual offshore call centres. The price is also really good and you get great speeds in my area. Can't fault their service.

First year was not had, could connect multiple devices. After extending contract for another year things went downhill quickly. They raised up cost, and internet started playing up. Speeds went down from 40 to 8. Once couldn't connect at all. Phoned customer service, very unhelpful guy claimed everything is in order, then he re-programmed the router and it was even worse. Phoned them again, they finally decided to send a new router, which I was meant to receive within 48 hours. Took 5 days! And number of calls. New router arrived, no change, can't connect more than one device! God forbid you want to play any online games! No chance! Phoned them again! And once more was told that everything is ok on their side! Asked to cancel contract as I'm not receiving service I paid for. They told me I still have to pay it off! £188! DIRECT SAVE?!?! MORE LIKE DIRECT RIPOFF!!!!! And they only add the good reviews on their website!!!! Don't bother with them!!!!!

Dreadful service! Direct Save should have connected the service on 27/08 but it was only working on the evening of 31/08 after 2 phone calls to customer service. I lost a day of work because of this and was forced to use up my mobile phone data allowance. They still sent the bill/direct debit for those 5 days when the broadband hadn’t been connected yet, which I obviously cancelled and disputed. Only after a few emails they finally corrected the amount. No compensation whatsoever was offered for their mess up and the disturbance caused, not even an apology. Because I was on holiday and didn’t make that payment straight away, they suspended the service. I’ve made the payment (finally with the correct amount) but after 7h I’m still waiting for the service to be reconnected after several hours. I’m losing another day of work, but Direct Save couldn’t care less! Waiting times for Customer service are 20 min plus.

I have never had to go through so much to get in touch with someone for help. I am a new customer and was supposed to be connected on the 23 August, it is now the 4th Sept and still no internet. Have called tech support several times only to be put on hold for long periods of time or disconnected because they can't figure out how to fix the problem. They first had my address wrong. Now supposedly it's my ONT box number. They say they will call you back but never do. I pro paid for the first month and a half but still have no service. It takes forever to get help on direct save helpline. I will never do business with them ever again.

I have been with DST for 4 months . The speed and reliability has been average at best , good when it is running smooth. Lately I have had problems with speed and signals going off . When trying to contact them I have found lengthy wait time and unhelpful support. I have just realised that tek support is only available during office hours ?!? so if you have problems after 8pm theres is nothing you can do ?!? When asking about cancellation the fee is 100 pound . Ridiculous.

I am using 2.5 years directsave. In terms of overall satisfaction I believe that directsave provides quite good services(4/5). For customer services I believe that the agents working after 4pm are better technically that those in the morning hours (4/5). The installation times are affected by openreach works and schedule. I believe they need to improve their collaboration with openreach and have more control on their programs and status. The broadband speed is more or less the same between companies. The best always for me is to use an ethernet cable, wifi lose 50% of speed (3/5) The connection is in general terms stable, I think they can improve further on that point (4/5)

I do not recommend this company because I was with them for 6 years I wanted to end the contract because they could not provide me the same speed at the new address so I wanted to quit so they made me pay 150 £ The offered me a lower speed broadband there but I had to pay £40 extra for reconnection but they offered me a broadband with lower speed. Avoid ! 6 years and that’s how they say goodbye for long term customer!!

Be very careful with their misleading terms. Due to COVID, and after being their customer since 2017 (no longer on a fixed contract) I called them to upgrade my Fibre Speed, which they promptly did while locking me in a 12 month contract again. It was clearly stated over the phone that if I had to move houses and they could not provide me the same service, I would pay no termination fees. Contract was never provided, just an email acknowledging the new package and informing me I was now on a 12m contract. Cue to now, having moved houses and not having access to fibre, they say that since they can provide me basic DSL via phone line, I either keep a contract with infinitely slower internet or pay them £90 in termination fees. Beware.

Changed address in July 2018 and informed Directsave to send me a final account and cancel contract. Despite regular phone conversations and letters they eventually sent me a termination of contract and bill of £74.95. I immediately paid this bill and my bank account shows this transaction. On the 29 September I had a letter from MIL Collections claiming £90.00 for non-payment to Directsave. Despite a letter to MIL explaining that the account had been paid, I am still experiencing regular phone calls from MIL claiming this payment. The latest yesterday 24/03/21 almost 3 years after closing the account. PLEASE DO NOT USE DIRECTSAVE TELECOM - ABSOLUTE RUBBISH.

not a good start as I started 9 nov 2020 to date Direct Save have taken £63.75 for just standard broadband and the month not finished yet. I had to contact them about the monies taken and why the bill is not clear.it appears they have taken money they should not have and have to wait for my refund.After requesting paperless bills was sent a bill .Customer service have been polite it is true you have to wait to get through to talk. I can say after leaving the post office Direct Save have provided me with better Internet connection but is early days to compare.I was concerned as my first month is not billed as a month because it started on the 9 November and instead of being billed to 9 December its only for the end of that month which I find bizarre normally doesn't matter when you start your billed monthly. Also being charged to call customer service from your land line is a bit petty I have always been able to call customer service from the providers land line free and pointed this out as with all the problems listed above Its up to Direct save to keep me as an ongoing customer some of the above needs to be addressed I do not agree that before your contract starts fees should be taken from your bank in my case my contract started 9 November 20 and was billed £44,80 October 20 before contract started

I have been a customer of Direct Save Telecom for a year now. I am writing this review whilst I have been waiting for over half an hour to speak to customer service (This is at 11am on a Tuesday morning - hardly peak time). Over the course of the year, Direct Save's customer service has been slow and clumsy to discuss simple matters. Here are some of the things I encountered in my year as a customer 1) They have continually spelled my name wrong on correspondence, despite having asked four times to change my name (spelling of name is required to log in to account 2) As I came to the end of my contract, I was receiving a call every day for about two weeks from them trying to get me to renew my contract. This is despite having asked them three times to stop calling me. 3) They use this small written in clause to get you to buy into their 'annual discount club' for £8.95 when your contract is over. You're put into it when you join, and when your contract expires they start charging you for it. It's a completely useless scheme. This is buried in your contract so it's hard to notice 4) Your wait for customer service will always be incredibly long whenever you ring. I was told by one of their colleagues that this was due to them being a relatively new company, but I have seen little improvement in a year. You will typically wait over half an hour in off-peak times, worse if you call after 5pm or the weekend. 5) I gave DirectSave a bad review on here early into my contract. A representative asked me to call them to discuss it. I called them, waited over half an hour to speak to them. When I did get through, the representative did not know the nature of my complaint about having to wait so long for customer service. Direct Save is cheap, but it is definitely not the fastest broadband out there for the price. You also get a very low standard of customer service. UPDATE OCTOBER 2020 I called on 28th October to enquire why the amount of £85.95 had been taken out of my account on a date which wasn't when I had set up my direct debit. I waited twenty minutes to get through to an advisor who then put me on hold and disconnected my call. I called back up to wait another 15 minutes. The advisor I spoke to put me on hold for ten minutes while they tried to work out why I had been billed that amount. I was then informed that 'because our payment systems had been down between July and September, money hadn't been taken out of your account correctly'. I asked why there were no invoices detailing this and they couldn't answer. I also enquired as to why I was still being charged for their 'discount club' (£8.95 a month) when I had rung up twice to cancel it. I was told that it would be cancelled from now on. I was also also told that the amount of £85.95 was incorrect by twenty pounds. I told them I would reclaim the direct debit until I was properly invoiced so I could see what I was paying for. I am only with Direct Save because it is the only internet service provider I can get in my area that doesn't require a yearly contract ( I am in my current accommodation temporarily for work)

As all others saying, they keep charging me about the services I cancelled on their web site. The custom service told me that I have to tell them by phone which makes the website totally a trap. I insist that they should be responsible for the bill and the customer service start threatens me that they will charge me for another £20 as I should inform them 28 days before I want to quit. I was sold fibre broadband, and told an engineer visit was required costing £60. The first available appointment was 2 weeks away (openreach timeframe). Almost 2 weeks passed and I hadn't heard anything, so I thought I would call up to check if it's still going ahead. I was told that my appointment had been cancelled because I can't get fibre in my area... Even though the sales advisor told me I could. It turns out the appointment was rejected ages ago and I was waiting for nothing, I received no communication from direct save. They offered nothing in the way of compensation and said it would take a further 2 weeks to get standard broadband connected. I cancelled my order and was told I would receive a refund for the £60. Another 2 weeks passed and I haven't received a refund. I called again today chasing my refund, the person was blunt and rude, often going silent for minutes at a time with no notice. The call took almost 15 minutes and when I asked why I wasn't refunded they said they are transferring to a new system and there was an error. Again they didn't contact me, were they hoping I forgot and let them have the money? They have all of my contact details, and I received emails and calls at the initial stage so they could sell me the product. Only after they charged my account did the communication stop. Hopefully my refund should be processed in the next couple of days. All in all they were useless.

Of all utilities I have used in my 40 years as a customer, Direct Line Telecom, have been the worst in every department. In many ways it was my own fault but how bad could a broadband provider be? Super bad! Not only was their provision of their contracted service poor, but the standard of their engineers, their customer communication and service were probably one of the lowest quality I have experienced in any sector.And I've bought a great deal of stuff in my time. Keep well clear of them.

These guys are a joke! I'm in London for work, and my relocation company signed me up with Direct Save in my flat. The only reason they went with them was because there was no contract (was planned to only be here for 9 months, so the company didn't want to tie me ino a 1+ year contract with another company). Service so far has been terrible! Firstly they sent the router to the wrong address, so i was without any broadband for the first month in my flat. I supposedly have fibre broadband, but my connection can drop out when i move rooms (i'm in a 1 bedroom flat, so i'm only moving about 20 feet further from the router!) Suddenly last week the broadband stopped working completely. Apparently there was an unauthorised takeover request from someone other than the person (company) they have the account with?!? A week on and they still haven't reinstated it, and the communication has been terrible. Definitely wouldn't recommend these guys, i have had no positive experience with them since Sept last year.

For those changing from BT that may have fibre to the cabinet.... BT will take this and allocate to another customer so DST can only give you copper to the exchange - you will be tricked into having a marginal service.

Frankly I’ve never known a more incompetent utilities provider in my life. It’s been nearly 4 weeks since I placed my order for broadband (in a pre-wired building) and after being told that my order wouldn’t be processed for another 4 weeks, for no reason apparently, I kicked off and was asked to send “proof of address” which I did. After no reply for 4 days I called up and was told that someone had “forgot” to action this email so I after some time I got sent a router that obviously didn’t work. I had spoke to a customer service agent who advised everything would be sorted and surprise surprise the router didn’t work because after speaking to the technical team it “hadn’t been activated”. I was told this would happen within a few hours and yet here I am, none the wiser And none the closer to getting working broadband. Honestly, if you can do so avoid this company like the plague, they are utterly, utterly useless. there’s a reason they’re cheaper than everyone else.

Constantly slow and unreliable. Usually in the evenings so cannot even watch TV over IP. Their customer line closes at 8pm so cannot report it. Give them a call the next day, they say all is fine. Quite frequently I get speeds of 2Mbps over fiber. Isn't that insane? ADSL was faster than the service this company provides. They always blame something else but me and most of my neighbours experience the same so it is a constant disappointment. Unfortunately the only alternative is SeeTheLight who are exactly the same as this company. So new builds are stuck with this kind of monopoly, where you only have these Cardiff-based companies providing horrible customer service and awful QoS on broadband. Worth to mention is that within less than 2 years, my bill went up by £10 while the service remains shajt.

I've been with DST for over 7 years now and it's been quite some years since I last had a problem. That was when my router expired, but after one phone call or one email - I forget which it was - I had a new one shipped immediately and I received it in 3days. I recall having some minor connection problems when first signing-up with them in 2012, but I always had good service from them and no long waits for the phone to be answered. In comparison my previous and more famous service provider was abjectly awful - so bad that I'm surprised I've never given them a 1 star rating! While I appreciate that some people have had bad problems with DST, based on other reviews here, I've never had any serious problems, plus in the last 3 or 4 years not a single one.

Overall not too satisfied the customer services just put the phone down on you when they feel like and don't ring back so you have to que up all over again the customer services isn't the best I had my broadband disconnected for a week and they didn't inform me I had to ring up find out the problem they didn't rush to sort it out. Broadband speed is okay I guess when it works that is. The staff are rude and don't rush to sort anything out for you they over charge you on your bill sometimes too with out telling you. This is from far the worst company I have dealt with in my entire life! I signed up for fibre broadband, completely convinced after being assured by an adviser that in case of ANY issues a technician would be sent to my place. From the day I got the modem, at the end of June, internet only worked for a few hours then abruptly stopped. I haven't been able to get any connection since them. I immediately called Direct Save and was told that unfortunately nothing could be done on their end and that the company's policy didn't allow them to send any technician in case of issues. I was in shock, as obviously, I was lied to in order that I signed the contract. I asked that they cancelled it, which was refused first but 2 calls later they finally orally agreed, recognising that I was lied to. After one month and a half, and a dozen of calls, waiting hours on the phone, Direct Save has eventually cancelled my contract, asking me to pay around £200 !! I refuse to pay it and I am in touch with a lawyer (friend of mine) to take legal measures as they categorically refuse to hear me and don't answer my complain letters. Avoid them!!! That is my only advice. They are just a bunch of thieves, making false promises in order to steal your money. Who would accept to pay for a service they don't get??!! Would you recon it is legal?

At first it was fine I told them I wanted invoice to review my bills but sent nothing and was charged I did not realise this as I could not get online they had not registered me on the system when I informed them. Eventually I was able to review my bills but if you do not see them online in time then they are gone, you should be able to review bills you have missed. I had threatening text messages stating that I had not paid my bill even though it is direct debit. I called customer service and they confirmed it was a mistake it was paid and they apologised it would not happen again but yet again I got another threatening text message for a new bill. I once again called customer service and they said I must of disabled my direct debit which I had not done and they had blocked me from getting internet as they stated I had not paid 2 of my bills. I called my bank and they stated directsave had not taken any money and that's why there was a problem. I contacted directsave again and informed them and they realised it was their mistake they had not taken payments for the bills. There has been constant incompetency on their part to make sure the bill is paid. They had also taken £9.95 for membership fee that I did not agree to and had to get them to pay me back the money they took out without my permission. I feel this company need to train their customer service and account department on how to manage payments and to make sure to thoroughly check why it has not been paid before threatening customers

Watch out for the 28 day notice fee. If you move away from them and your new supplier doesn't give them 28 days notice which they usually won't then this shower will charge you £19.50. My best advise is to avoid them.

I've used their service for a year & changed the provider the first chance I got. I was initially charged additional £25 due to their mistake while changing the provider. The speed & the connection was bad, so I complained. I was provided with slightly better router which improved the speed slightly, however I was charged £50 for it as they claimed that they never received the original router I returned by post. It would have been much cheaper to go for fibre broadband with other providers. Don't think you'll be saving money, their service was more expensive than any other company I have used in the past.

The amount of providers available on the "Open Fibre Networks" (previously Independent Fibre Networks) is limited, and Direct Save is one of the very few options. But the technology is the same for all the FTTH providers on the network, so price plays an important role in the choice. Direct Save is one of those few providers. It is not fancy, on the contrary, but the broadband works just fine, installation was a breeze, and sales and customer service - although hardly ever needed - is very friendly (and UK based). Also, the package includes a landline by default, which other FTTH providers do not without paying extra. Conclusion: no frills, but just what was needed, a stable, reliable, fast and as cheap as possible internet connection. Comes with an older router, but with advanced capabilities such as media server. Would recommend if OFNL servers your building.

14th Aug I reported severe line crackling and intermittent\very slow broadband. Until the 25th they continually said there was no problem. At this time I asked them to test my router. I got a quick return call to confirm a fault. An engineer was requested and we were told to expect him on Tuesday 28th. We waited in all day - no engineer. I called Direct Save again and was told the engineer would attend the next day but we did not need to stay in as there was no need for his access. At 9.05 on our way to the super market we received a call from the engineer asking us to return home as he needed access to out home. Fault was rectified at 5.20 that day. We were offered approx 2 weeks refund which was increased to £20. Given the inconvenience and extra costs involved (returning from shopping, use of PAYG mobile for calls for over 2 weeks and return from shopping ) I am very disappointed and asked there agent to register my dissatisfaction.

Being able to speak to a real person in the UK is one of the reasons I've stuck with Direct Save; when I've had problems they've usually been good at sorting them out. When I first signed up to direct save I called them to discuss cancellation policy should I wish to. The lady who I spoke to was so rude and argumentative and in the background I could hear other staff being exactly the same. Terrible attitude!!! The internet stops working at least a few times a week, I don't bother calling customer services as I don't think I would get very far. The speed of the internet isn't too bad for what we use it for. But I won't be renewing my contract with them!

I changed to Direct Save from TalkTalk about a year ago after years of dissatisfaction with TalkTalk. i think I chose them via MSE.com They are considerably cheaper for all telephone services, changeover was seamless, which was important as I am selfemployed & rely on broadband. Any queries are dealt with couteously & efficiently by a consultant I can understand. Recommend unreservedly.

Started off alright, but after about 6 months the reliability dropped off the face of the earth. Internet would disconnect every 20 minutes. Cancelled the service to find the cancellation fee was the remaining 11 months. Always read the terms...And then choose another provider.

Had to speak to Direct Save on a couple of occasions due to bills being more than quoted when i signed with them. I have to be that some of there customer service skills are to be desired. Was told I would get a credit on my account for having to call up and not being happy with the service, but then that credit never got added so had to call again. The broadband is a bit slow in our area and i think it is quite expensive for the service that you get. But we brought a Persimmon Home and you get tied into a deal with a choice of 4 providers which no one has ever heard of.

No information supplied on how to connect to the pre-installed equipment in our new build. I was able to work it out myself eventually but there's always the question of whether I did it correctly. I did have some issues with dropping connection and the telephone customer services people were most helpful, it took several goes at sorting the problem but with their help we got there in the end. Direct save also offer a group saving scheme, and an online account, these and other services have never been explained to me, should I have got an info pack on signing up? Who knows. Internet connection is good so no complaints there. so in short sales team and info , lacking. customer support when i had a problem, excellent. Connection & speed excellent.

Since joining Direct Save on a 100mbps contract I’ve received on average 67mbps hardwired. Wireless is around 15-20mbps. When contacted I was told DirectSave weren’t to blame, there were no faults on the line and it was down to their supplier. Their supplier asked me to jump through hoops to prove that my connection speed was slow. It was determined the router is not fast enough to cope with 100mbps. The only way I could get a better router from DirectSave was to upgrade to 300mbps or pay £79.99. Wonderful. When my contract is up I’ll be swiftly moving on. The customer service and willingness to help around technical issues is let down greatly by their speeds.

I have been with Direct Save for over two years and in that time have only had cause to ring them with queries not complaints. Their charges are reasonable and I have no reason to complain. They provide an excellent service. On the rare occasion I have had to contact them, whichever representative I have spoken to in their Customer Service team has gone out of their way, when necessary, to resolve my query. I can honestly say I consider their Customer Service to be second to none. They have a good choice of packages and it makes no difference whether you are on a basic package or on their most expensive ones for customers who have the latest technological equipment all customers are treated equally. I have no hesitation in recommending Direct Save to anyone who is looking to change their Broadband provider.

A couple of times I've had a problem with my router so I've called the tech support people at Direct Save and they have talked me through, step by step, how to fix the problem on both occasions. Very patient, very courteous and left me feeling I had just experienced PROPER customer service. I'd highly recommend Direct Save. Such a relief after years of BT !

Brilliant service, no hassle, no pushing to by extra services like tv or phone packages etc. I use my broadband primarily for gaming and downloads. I get a constant low latency service with uninterrupted game play. The router could be better quality, ie more features etc but I use a buffalo air station for my internal network, so everything runs and streams as needed. 4.5/5.

Overcharged me when I originally signed up, difficult to speak to anyone in customer service and very rude when you do. Connection itself is horrible, I have to restart the router two or three times a day to try get speeds above 1.7Mbps, I plan on moving house in the next 12 months and will certainly not be becoming a customer of DirectSave, the few pounds cheaper bill simply is not worth it.

DIRECT SAVE TELECOM I have held off writing this review as I had taken this company to a Small Claims Court and was awaiting the court’s verdict which was in my favour. They did not even bother to attend. Fist of all I totally agree with hundreds of negative reviews posted for this company On Trust Pilot & Broadband.CO.UK. There are some positive reviews which are clearly planted. They are mostly described as Cheats, Liars, incompetent, vicious and thieves. It is interesting to note that this company has not bothered to reply to any of these allegations. If you are thinking of complaining to the CEO of this company, do not bother, you will be simply redirected to one of their so called managers who according to an indigenous saying “, Can not even organise the proverbial piss up in a brewery.” The CEO in association with his directors is probably the prime mover of all the scams. One of the reviewers has researched this company on the Companies House Register & discovered that 6 directors have resigned. With hundreds of negative reviews it is impossible that the CEO is not aware of the scams. The company is a total fraud. As mentioned by one of the reviewers on Broadband CO UK that how it is possible for such scams not to be picked up by relevant authorities and company not closed down. This still remains a mystery My problems with this company started immediately after I signed up on Internet and after telephone conversations around 28th December 2017.As described in other reviews that they lie on the phone which was also true in my case. They could not meet the tatget date on which broadband was to go active. I informed them that under the Consumer Protection Act 14 days cooling off period I was cancelling the contract. Their response was that the Company had complied with the 14 days cooling off period and as such cooling off period did not apply. This of course was untrue. . This Company is not an Internet Service Provider. The most relevant definition to describe this company is that they act as Brokers. As such they are not in a position to provide a start date and provide any relevant customer service as it is impossible for them to know what is going on with the third party Internet Service Provider they have contracted from. When I queried a start date from Direct Save Telecom,. I was advised that we still have to order the Broadband. At this stage alarm bells started to ring and subsequent follow-up actions took place which eventually resulted in a small claims court action against the company. In their litigation the company was completely ignorant of Consumer Protection Laws and even submitted to the court a statement saying that in this case the consumer law was not relevant which must have sunk them from the very beginning of the court case. They also submitted entire correspondence, around 40 documents with me and the third party contractor TALTALK. No one bothered to read what was relevant. Proverbially they shot themselves in the foot. . After a client has signed up, the company shops around for the cheapest ISP provider and buys directly from them to subcontract that service to an unfortunate consumer who has signed up . Therefore the Company is not in a position to provide a satisfactory customer service as they must refer to the actual provider which in every instant which is not them. That is why some reviews complain of non existent Customer Services. In my particular case the actual provider was TALK TALK. Why should any one want to sign up with TALK TALK through a broker. You would not normally be given this information. I only know as they had to provide documents to the court & duplicates to me. In their panic all the correspondence concerning this case were sent to the court and me. One if these document was their invoice from TALK TALK for setting up this service. So much for their competence. Direct Save Telecom hook people in by advertising on the internet for providing a full service at £17 a month and claiming that this is the lowest rate for a broadband & telephone service. This is obviously not true. In my case I was asked to pay £50 FOR A TELEPHONE CONNEXION which would be repaid. It was not, any queries regarding were ignored. This is part of their heist. After that a direct debit of about £50 monthly was set up on my account. No invoice was provided. I of course cancelled this; the company reacted by cutting off my internet and telephone. They would not restore these until the direct debit for £50 was restored. A far cry from the advertised £17 . I then tried to get connected with SKY & VODAFONE. Both of these were blocked by the company .This was due to the fact that they control the BT telephone number to my house, despite the fact that SKY would have paid up to £75 for transfer of the service. This has also been mentioned by other reviewers. Once you have signed up with DIRECT SAVE TELECOM, they control the BT land line and will not transfer the line to any other provider. As such no other ISP can take over the service. DIRECT SAVE TELECOM is hell bent on stealing maximum amount of money from you. I was determined not to be cheated and looted by this company. As such I contracted with VODAFONE for a temporary mobile broadband which is not bad value when their special offers are available. As previously stated I was determined not to be a victim of this company. I then realised that my house had a cable connexion and I could sign up with Virgin who normally are very expensive but a special offer on £29 monthly steered me that way. Just to make it clear that Virgin has their own telephone service and do not need a BT LAND LINE. I was up and running in about 72 hours. This did not stop DIRECT SAVE TELECOM. The continued to bombard me with bogus invoices and silent phone calls twice daily and finally with an invoice for early termination and allegedly unpaid invoices. These invoices kept coming even though the company knew that Court Proceedings had been initiated. After all the harassment the Company finally referred me to a Debit Collecting Service. I replied to them by writing one sentence on the face of their letter, saying that a Court Hearing was scheduled for this case and they must wait for the verdict of this case So far I have heard nothing more Finally it is not practical to refer to all the facts but however my final words are which other reviews have also mentioned. Read all the reviews and do not touch this company with a barge pole as hundreds have described them as Cheats, Liars and thieves on BROANDBAND CO.UK & TRUST PILOT .This includes on of their former employees who posted on Broadband Co. UK This review has been written by 82 years old who refused to be swindled. DIRECT SAVE TELECOM IS NOT AN INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER.

Be very careful with these people. I went thinking it was the cheapest only to find I can have Fiber broadband chaper! At 10+ times the speed. When the hit and miss internet service fails - you can not get a response from them. Then when they roll you over onto a new contract they add charges for additions (evening and w/end calls) you did not ask for and then when you terminate with them they charge you for Administration fees! of £19.50. Very Poor. Will not ever use again.

CS advisors do not announce there name when taking a call. for older folk or people who struggle with internet its ok. im in my first day still so wont say bout speeds as fluctuate normally first week. biggest failings are the lack of proper router with all the login info to keep your new router secure. its like they only want you to use there router on defaults no change to passwords as no clear info to change it as we are advised by any and everyother provider they advise you first thing to do is change the default passwords not this one tho another talk talk wanting to get hacked or even sell your info then blame it on lack of security. a joke and glad i can cancel without fees. super polite etc but cant trust a company that witholds vital details that every other provider gives you as a point .

Just had a letter from Direct Save as I am leaving them on 6 April and said that they have calculate that you have 18 months left on your contract and we estimate that your termination fee to be £270.00. So I phoned them and said I was not in contract as it ended last month so have now put it in the hands of Ofcom. As after the contract ended it should be on a month basis. I would never go back to them as had trouble with them from the start as had to phone to see where the modem was and it was late being set up then the modem did not connect to the internet and found out the modem was not set up right and found that out on Monday and the broadband was meant to go on Friday

They steal from you even after your contract is over… I used Direct Save back in my old property as at the time, it was the only provider that did a monthly rolling contract which suited the house share situation I was in. At the time of signing up, they told me over the phone that I can either send a letter to cancel the contract or just cancel my direct debit. All sounds great at this point, but straight away things go downhill. I receive the box thinking I'm pretty much set to go, but there was about a week of them faffing about on their end until we eventually got connection, even then it was slow speeds and decided to stop working several times a week for over two years (please note that the customer service has always been awful and I have never been satisfied after calling them). At the end of my tenancy, I cancel my direct debit as originally advised thinking I have cancelled my contract (as they told me it would). About a month later I receive a phone call saying that I owe them money, which at this point I tell them that I cancelled my direct debit as instructed, and they didn't say anything more about it. Over a year after that incident and hearing absolutely nothing from Direct Save (despite the fact that they have my telephone number), I receive a phone call from a 3rd party debt collection firm demanding that I pay them money to Direct Save. Unwillingly I paid the fine but am now trying to get a refund as I feel as though I was wrongly accused and am paying for their own mistakes. Avoid this provider at all costs, you're better off having no internet than the crappy internet and worst possible service that they provide. They have caused much headaches for me over the past few years and I'm surprised they're still allowed to operate.

This company is a farce, they are inept in every manner and provide a diabolical service. They have cut off a disabled vulnerable person who needs the phone line for her care call and emergency care line due to being extremely vulnerable and even after three calls and them saying it is our fault you should not have been cut off, but there is nothing more we can do! Reconnect instantly would be what you ethically should do! They are putting my mothers life at risk and has caused us stress, upset and worry not just to her daughter but her as well she has been so stressed, upset and is worrying, how can a company be allowed to run in this manner, disgusting, despicable and deplorable they can get away with it! AVOID them as they are cold money grabbers who have no care or compassion for their customers!!!!!!!! Horrid company

Staff are endlessly helpful, far beyond that one could reasonably expect. Spent half an hour talking me through set-up of TP-Link Relay kit, which just wasn't playing ball, but didn't give up till it worked.

I have been with Directsave for 10years or more, Yes I have had some difficult times but not so much that it could not be sorted over the phone i am not sure what is going wrong for others but for me I am in no hurry to move.

Excellent!! That's all I can say after being a customer of well known provider and being totally cheesed off with them, price rises , trying to contacting them spending ages on the phone. Direct save is a pleasure to deal with. We have had no problems, with Internet or phone. They give a detailed itemised bill & customer service have been good . We have just recommend friends.

I had a problem with my broadband first time I called them they told me my broadband was setting up and ring back after 8pm and the red light was still flashing internet not working so l rang back and women on the phone engineers will ring you back tommorow but if you read the contracts it says that engineers work 24 hours 365 fays a year but I asked to speak to a engineer she said you can't I have passed your issue to them and they will contact you in the morning so there are no engineers she said yes me so you help me with my issue and she said straight forward no so I said I think I will report this to of com as you are not telling the truth of your engineers working 24 hrs a day 365 days a year what do you think?

This company is definitely a pork pie short of a picnic. I signed up online on the 15th January 2018 and received confirmation dated 16th January stating that it would be transferred within two weeks and my router would arrive shortly. On the February 2nd, with still no router, I was advised it could take up to six weeks for the transfer. On 3rd February I signed up with now and was connected on the 5th February. Direct Save Telecom is a third world company trying to pass on its third world values to customers here in the UK
