I've been with TalkTalk for one week and they'd constantly caused problems in this short time. They've changed the date my services are being switched on TWICE and today is the day they told me they would be on and nothing has been turned on! I called customer services that told me to redo the home checks over and over again. They're terrible and shall be cancelling me contract

Wish I had never signed up to Talk Talk
My experience has been awful u,totally inefficient and full of false promises.
I would not advise this company.
I have in 24 hours spoken to nine different agents .
Now awaiting compensation and will be writing to the managing director in Southampton and if no joy to the ombudsman.
Currently looking around for another provider.

Dreadful broadband takes ages to open up and up to a minute just to change a page, it's as if it has hiccups, it constantly stops working. The support is useless, they changed the telephone charges 3 months after I changed to Talktalk, does not compare favourably to other providers,I can't wait for my contract to finish when I will leave them. I WOULN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE CHANGING TO TALKTALK, IT'S JUST NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION AND AGRO.

Talk talk are terrible. Broadband speed is slow, customer service is useless and most of all their e-mail service fails three or four times a day. I am in the process of collecting all my e-mail data with a view to leaving in a few weeks. I have been with them for a few years and they have got worse. When they changed their e-mail system by shrinking it, giving it less features and far worse reliability that was the last straw. Good riddance.

If your looking for a broadband provider that can regularly deliver you less than half a meg....be completely incomprehensible when you contact them..advise you that you should be no less than 3metres from your router..cause you the kind of stress normally associated with a warzone then these guys definitely won't disappoint you.

One of those whose details have been hacked (second time in less than 6 months). Tried to complain. No call back as promised. when contacting TalkTalk again, after 15 minutes the call was terminated at their end. Hack aside, their broadband speed is not very fast and has been getting slower over the past year. Wish I had swapped to Sky.

I have terminated my contract with them after 1 year of a nightmare internet and tv service, slow as hell and with customer service that always failed to help. Now, after having finished with them for 3 months and being very happy with BT (can't absolutely compare the speed and its only 5 pounds more per month) they keep sending me bills for the equipment I have returned! They even sent a debt collection agency to try and charge for those 140 pounds of their useless equipment, of which they have already emailed me saying they received! its ridiculous! NEVER GO THERE.

TalkTalk has the most appalling customer service system and nothing works correctly. My go live date came and went, my account log in never worked and my your view box arrived faulty. Whatever could have gone wrong with the change over did and the customer care was dire. Bitterly regret changing to TalkTalk.

Absolutely horrendous company ....cannot even reply to a simple email, failed to send me the right equipment for the services I signed up for then sent me a bill for £202.00 when they had failed to send me either a wifi box or a tv box ... absolutle joke of a company, then instead of apologising and see how they can rectify the situation they tell me if I cancel the contract I will be charged £285.00 .. but they wont answer the question as to what Im actually being charged for ... wifi I didnt use, phonecalls I didnt make and TV that I didnt watch ..... I will be taking further action against this sham of a company ... stick with sky all the way!!

Don't touch this company with a Barge Pole. Forget any "good reviews" they're almost certainly provided by the 'company'. This service has progressively reduced to one of absolute horror, virtually unusable. My system is modern, lines etc; are good, just the crap I have to communicate with is the problem.

Thank you TALKTALK, because of your shambolic systems I missed buying a item on eBay that I had been searching for, for over 5 years (before I moved to deepest Essex) as when I hit the enter key with my BID your speed was so slow, I think is reached eBay in £'s--shillings and pence, the winning bid was lower than the one I entered, I am an old hand with eBay and I know it was at least 2 seconds before bidding ended.
Been with talktalk for over 5 years, I must be mad as I trusted them. the download speed has dropped to a extra slow crawl and in spite of calls to the various help lines and the promise of return calls (Hello Santa is That Harley Davidson really for me) I am stuck with the biggest load of total C**P of a broadband service.
I have to say that the phone works just fine.
It's more than just a coincidence that the slow speeds started just as TALKTALT started to let customers know that fibre broadband was available and of course it cost more.
To be on the safe side I was able to check my download speed on a neighbours Broadband (not T/T's) and it was over 9 download.
One other thing about talktalk, the contracts with them are separate, the phone line is for 12 months but for Broadband it's 18 months, so if you want to cancel, you will be hit hard with penalties (£'s).
I will tomorrow, without fail call it a day with them. I'm not sure who I will go to but all I want is a reliable service, it's not how much it costs.

I am currently with Virgin and was considering switching to talk talk after seeing a great offer for TV, phone and broadband. THANK GOD I read these reviews and have decided not to switch. I really feel for all the reviewers here who are having a terrible time with TT. I'm sticking with Virgin even if it is a bit more expensive!

Do not use this ISP, I have seen downloads going to bytes per second, in other words, it would take about 2000 years to download GTA V. Haven`t needed the customer service but I`ll assume it;s as bad as the speed. You want to stream TV programs? Nope. Watch videos in more than 144p? I don't think so. But if you want an early 90s internet experience then look no further.

Migration & corruption to my emails - it's getting worse
The migration and corruption problems were first reported five years ago. Since May, TalkTalk's Technical Support department have issued four incident reports, all concerning the same faults. In arbitrary fashion the reports are closed. The faults are getting worse.
A brief history follows. I've been with Tiscali/TalkTalk for over 11 fraught years. It took 3 years to get non dial-up Broadband when all the BT customers in my village were ‘enjoying’ a Broadband service. I had to use my MP, Ofcom and CISAS to receive Tiscali Broadband - a delay that cost me a lot of money. At present - for the £20 a month I pay for Broadband - I get 5Mb download speed max if I'm lucky and work at nights; I'm plagued by poor upload speeds, bandwidth restrictions and loss of connectivity issues which are exacerbated during office hours. These cost me sleep, time and more money. Fibre super-fast broadband is a non-starter because I'm on an Exchange Only line. I live in Collieston, centre of the Energetica development corridor 15 miles north of the oil capital of Europe, Aberdeen. Trump International’s golf resort 5 miles to the south gets 20Mb+, my mole there tells me. Pittenweem, a fishing village in Fife of comparable size to Collieston, receives 65Mb.
When TalkTalk took over Tiscali the problems escalated - migration, outage & corruption, continuing to this day. To try to solve the problems, TalkTalk forced me to take out a fourth email address, making my dog Riley the account’s administrator! This and my wife's email address appear on MyAccount, but the other two do not. It is these two email addresses that cause most of the grief. It's a miracle anything is sent or received, more of which later. As a journalist and researcher I keep comprehensive records. I'll list the faults below. The lists are by no means exhaustive, but all details and dealings will be fully collated in due course, if necessary.
I can't move any emails into folders - or anywhere else - without refreshing the page every time. This is time-consuming and frustrating; deleting cache history doesn't help. Emails from Hotmail accounts fail to get through; reporting Spam results in the offending emails going to Trash (the spam continues). 40+ Google Alerts daily go straight into Trash instead of my Inbox. Attachments often won't open - I access them via downloads, or copy emails to gmail. Yesterday I tested all four email addresses by sending emails from each to the other. Not one of 6 emails has arrived: I am getting reports from customers and contacts that some of my emails have not been getting through recently and I have not received their mail. Since TalkTalk have no record of these two email addresses, to replicate the problems I gave the passwords to Technical Support. They can't replicate the faults at their end so they close the incident report. I have 29 texts sitting on my mobile for four faults all detailing the same problems since May 11th. I can't afford to go to India to enjoy a fault-free TalkTalk email service. I can't change my passwords, so the integrity of all my email data is now compromised.
To change ISP is but a distant dream. I should have done so years ago, but these email addresses are embedded in website architecture, advertisements and log-in/ password details to such an extent that changing them would be a logistical nightmare. Not to mentuiion the 2000 business cards handed out over the past decade.
Whatever I use to access my emails (Mac, PC, laptop, different browsers, my wife's oil company system, Aberdeen University) makes no difference, and I haven't changed any settings.
Over the past decade I have documented and logged contact with the following TalkTalk departments and other agencies in attempts to solve any of the issues, but TalkTalk’s customer service and overall response goes from bad to appalling.
TalkTalk departments contacted - CEO's office, Public Relations, Loyalty, Technical Support, Customer Services and more
Other agencies; MPs, MSPs, OFCOM, CISAS, Trading Standards, forums - Trustpilot, TalkTalk Community and others..
I am now about to go to the Alternative Disputes Resolution Scheme or the Ombudsmans Services Commissioner. Or both, I’ve had enough. I've already written to the Communications Ombudsman. Every day that passes without these faults getting fixed will be a day when I’ll unleash this document on more forums and relevant sites, and contact various agencies and officials. I have a meeting this month with Aberdeen Trading Standards Office who are advising me make a Small Claims Court Action against TalkTalk under the 1982 Supply of Goods Act. Since TalkTalk has already been awarded the 'worst ISP provider in Britain' accolade, I don't suppose that any of this bothers them. If I ran my businesses like TalkTalk operates, we wouldn't be having any correspondence, because I'd be bankrupt and out of business long ago.
This is an edited version of my last letter to TalkTalk sent on 4.8.2015. It seems to be impossible to email the company. In addition this precis has been posted on TalkTalk Community, Trustpilot and other forums.

Customer service is practically non existent. It is based in India. It is pot luck if you get a person that speaks English;or understands what the problem is. The broadband speed keeps getting cut back.Though they deny this.It will return to normal for a short while after complaining, then revert back to going slow. It is a matter of a firm being to large to empathise with the people who supply their income. Will be changing.

CHECK YOUR LATEST BILL. From 1st July 2015 all daytime local calls that were free are now charged for. 11.5p ppm + a connection fee. Didn't know? neither did we and we had been with them for years. A friend happened to check her bill on line to find she was about to be charged an EXTRA £40 that month.

I have been a fairly contented Talktalk customer for 8 year, then all went pear shaped when we decided to move from town to the country. I gave TT 18 days notice and they texted me straight away to be in my new property on the day or they would charge me! Four days after moving in, and with no BB or contact, I rang them on my mobile. They said there were problems with the old cables and they would know more in a week. I was supposed to ring them back. This I did, and same old problems and broken promises. Five weeks after informing them on my move and am STILL waiting. Dreadful customer care - they don't actually care! They never ring back and expect me to spend a fortune on my mobile. They talk about 'their engineers', when we all know that BT still control the network. Pathetic. Talk talk may be cheaper, but when problems occur, they are beneath contempt. Stay well clear.

Not good for e mail. I am fed up of trying to access my e mail account. First thing in morning it is not too bad at all but in the evening its often poor - even at 10pm. I am fed up of watching the circle go round and round waiting firstly for e mail account to open and then for actual e mails to load. I gave up tonight, after 20 minutes of trying to access e mails I had had more than enough. Crazy thing is we have paid for extra fast service. Sometimes it is better to pay more and get better reliability elsewhere. Although from what I hear many suppliers have issues of some sort or another.

Absolutely the most frustrating customer service I have had to deal with. Call centre operative keep repeating the same nonsense and refusing to pass me onto a manager to sort out their mistake when I changed over to EE. Then the manager was just as inept. They might be cheap but you need to ask yourself is it worth spending a little bit more and having peace of mind?

For many years I was a contented customer of Virgin Broadband. The service was quick and reliable with no problems re.outage etc.
Then Virgin shunted all their non-fibre customers to Talk Talk. Little to no warning and no opportunity for us to shop around and find another user.
Since the changeover I have had broadband for about 1 in every 4 days-if that. The signal is invariably non-existent. Calls to Talk Talk have resulted in platitudes but no action. The best I have had is that my router is "probably not a very good one".
Talk Talk are "sorry to hear" that I have no service. But it begins and ends there. I have had all the equipment tested, ditto the line. All working. So it is their service and their ability to provide one. 100%.
The most animated one of their agents has yet been was when I said I was going to another provider.
They then said that would be "in breach of contract"-although I have never entered into a contract with them. They added this would incur them charging me for doing same.
I am now paying for BT Fon so I can at least do some work and have some sort of service.
Meanwhile, for the umpteenth time, Talk Talk are "sorry to hear" that I have no service. But that is as far as it goes.
They are incompetent and their ability to deliver a service or attend to issues or faults is not so much non existent-they simply do not bother to address them in the first place.
Avoid at all costs.

They got my contract by lying to us and now they wish to penalize us! THEY ARE NOT true and get your business by deception. I hope get found out.

I initially selected talk talk wifi because of their great deals, however I was very much mislead. The package we signed on for was simply awful, you could not have more than one device conected at any time, not if you wanted it to work! And forget peak times, any connections was impossible then, so I ended up having to upgrade anyway and paying more than other companies. However our main issue occurred when we moved. I used talk talks online move service, little did I know that by doing this they would automatically sign me up for another contract, which I only found out about when i tried to leave. According to the helpline for talk talk I would have been informed on the telephone of the new transaction even though all of my move was completed online! I ended up paying a fortune to leave talk talk and would NEVER go back.

Totally DISGUSTED WITH TALKTALK....over a year of frequent broadband disruption, no compensation as promised, over 20 hours on the phone to a foreign call centre, following their failure to supply contracted reliable broadband, i advised, and stopped payment, they then bullied me to pay a breach of contract, under threat of filing a default credit rating!!!
Dont make the same mistake i made,....pay a little more for a stress free life!!
