I have had nothing but trouble with my broadband since the day I signed up with them. I've reported so many times I've given up. Just waiting for my contract period to expire!

First of all, we made a contract for a year because it was the only provider for newly built house. And it was ok, apart from the total absence of connection every once in a while during the night (no biggie). Then, we had to move out when we discovered that the contract was extended without us knowing for a year ahead, meaning we had to pay 50 % of remaining fee if we wish to cancel, which we did not expect and were not aware of. Next step was the address transfer which took a month, not mentioning being on the phone and chat for hours trying to explain a straightforward actions (they have transferred us to different department numerous times and sent an engineer to the wrong address after us explaining ourselves 100 times) all this while we were still paying the FULL price for so called "broadband", also which, when this all was finally taken care of, turned out to be the usual one (with the speed of 9Mbps download and 0.015 mbps upload against of 60 and 20 minimum promised respectively, as of the contract). A humongous complaint was filled in, of course, which was promised to be dealt with within 24h and been absolutely ignored for more than 3 weeks. After three weeks we had a phone call (thank god), they have sent us an engineer to fix the problem, after which the internet seems to work fine apart from me using 4G at this moment to write this complaint coz there is no connection again. we would love to change the provider but the contract forces us to stay with Talk talk for another long seven months.
If you consider Talk Talk as your future provider please think twice as the company is extremely unprofessional, and their customer service has a long way ahead to improvement.

I would advise anybody against going with talktalk! I switched to talktalk and was supposed to be on exactly the same package as my previous supplier, 4 months into the contract my tv channels go off and i find i am still being charged by sky. I tell talktalk and they remove package so i now have tv with sky and broadband with talktalk , not only have they given me a new 18 month contact but are charging my 27.00 a month for normal broadband, when i was paying for super fast unlimited with previous supplier! They say I can not get out of the contract and am stuck with being over charged for a service i didnt order!!!!

Awful speeds despite paying for the top package. Line keeps dropping and has been down for over a week now. They set it up to start working in December it didn’t work I called them several times and they couldn’t find my account every time then when they did I was with technical support for over an hour every time and it would never fix it they wouldn’t send out a engineer if when I asked after the third phone call. Then the modem stopped working I called to cancel which took over an hour and they then said I will be charge a cancellation fee EVEN THOUGH IT HAS NEVER WORKED. They then refused to cancel my contract saying the internet works when it never has and my modem is dead. NEVER USE TALK TALK EVER

Crouch End London TalkTalk
Paid for Faster Fiber advertised by Talk Talk at 76 mbs speed. I was actually getting 10 mbs - So basically paying £25 per month for 10 mbs
Switched to EE for £30 per month and immediately getting 70 mbs.

Talk Talk speeds are so slow and they may send an engineer out but they never fix the problem so you are left paying the higher rate for an inferior speed. Once locked into that contract there is no getting out.

The foreign customer service call centre is a nightmare as well.

They ‘arranged’ an engineer to come out. I took a day off work. When no one arrived I called them and they advised that ther was no appointment! Just great!

They arranged another engineer to come out and sort the terrible speed. He arrived at 7am only to tell me the line was dead. I called talk talk and they have cut off the line and told me that I had requested it. Oh yes of course because I enjoy getting up to let an engineer in to come and look at a line I’d asked Talk Talk to come and switch off. They offered no compensation for this inconvenience.

They offered me £5 compensation for the slow speed with is inadequate.

Because I had paid for the month upfront they owed me a rebate. The customer service agent said they would refund that amount to me ‘as a good will gesture’. Haha come of it... a good will gesture. Firstly that’s my money so its got nothing to do with a good will gesture. Sometime I think the call centre staff try wind you up on purpose.

Pay a bit more and get a quality product. EE has excellent customer service and excellent speeds and only £5 extra. It’s a no brainier people.

Everything is fine until you need technical help. Be prepared to spend 2 hours or so and multiple tries before you get any kind of satisfaction. The 'technical' advisors read from a script and you have to do the same tests numerous times before they move on. Even though you have identified the problem yourself and they could move straight there, they have to go round and round in a ritual resembling torture. By the time you are done, you are willing to accept anything. When my current contract ends, I'll pay a bit more and go with someone else.

Bolton TalkTalk
Find calls to talktalk very difficult. Once waited so long for lady to come back that the line went dead. Another time phone put down deliberately or not but no call back. The departments not defined very well. Great difficulty in understanding young lady today, at one point said want to go and refresh myself ! Silent for sone time and then cameback -no explanation. Went to loyalty for better deal and they offered a higher price. Asked as moving but not too sure when as my contract is expiring soon how much will it be if I leave talktalk when I move. First told we cannot possibly tell you ! Asked somebody else and told £9 for each month left on contract. As could be over one year that sounds a lot to me and why that amount for something I am not using. Can understand paying say another month or even two but that sounds unreasonable. Also with all the background shouting, giggling and laughing when read off terms and conditions could not catch them properly so asked could they be posted or emailed, no we cannot do that. I find that a bit strange as I just want to know what I am agreeing to, I would have thought that was breaking the law surely as do not know what I am agreeing to but no interpreters and no fault of my own. Was a very difficult conversation, I was an announcer for years and you need to know how to speak so people can understand you. As so much noise she must have put her mouth right near the mouth piece and spoke louder which really distorted it and seemed a long delay to questions so kept both talking together. Ended up agreeing to everything as my third call. Don’t think about it taking 30mins to an hour. Takes best part of morning or afternoon and afterwards you need a strong drink - or two Anne,

DO NOT GO WITH TALKTALK. They are the worst providers ever! We could never ever get a proper connection. Even cost us money through work (working from home) and having to constantly buy data on our phones. I even bought a Giffgaff sim for the kids iPads because they couldn’t ever watch or play on anything!! Whilst still paying for TalkTalk. Then when you want to leave you have to go through a whole massive process which takes forever. They hang up. They claim they can’t hear you down the phone. They claim they don’t understand you as they’re all foreigners. We’ve just gone with B.T and in 1 day of being with them I can’t believe the difference. Stay away or you’ll end up wrapped up in this joke for a full 18 months

Dealing with Talktalk technical department is like trying to knit with fog. They must be the worst trained group of supposedly 'technical' people I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. TalkTalk would be better of with a million trained monkeys who just pressed random buttons at least occasionally they would get things right. I had one appointment from a talktalk engineer who identified the fault as being outside my property which I already knew as I lost my braodband while OpenReach were working outside. I then had one appointment which was cancelled because TalkTalk said thath I would need to be at home. The second appointment was not made because TalkTalk said that I would not have to be at home after all. A third appointment was just not scheduled at all by Talktalk and finally the fourth appointment was made and I was told I would have to be at home after all. However when the OpenReach engineer arrived he said there was no need for access to the property as obviously the fault was outside, which is what the original Talktalk appointed subcontractor had said at the very start. What a useless load of technically challenged phone operators TalkTalk employed. But if you want to pay peanuts you have to expect monkeys unfortunately they all seem to be incompetant monkeys!

No customer service whatsoever. Will not help you in any way. Will pass you from advisor to advisor and still reach no resolution. You will have to chase them up and they’ll never call you back like they said they would. I’ve had less than guaranteed speed for over a year and not done anything about it until I decided to leave and they were trying to charge me a £200 bill and after 5/6 hours of non stop calls for two weeks they finally deducted the early termination fee only to tell me I won’t be getting the compensation anymore either that I owed because I’m cancelling. Which by the way I wasn’t meant to be charged early termination fee as one of their own advisors told me they’d waive it as I was in my cooling period from renewing an 18 month contract for them to turn around and say no you’ll be paying a £192 fee or work with us and let us help your broadband. Which they couldn’t do for a year anyway..

Worst provider ever! Don’t be fooled by marketing strategies and tricks of the trade. Slowest broadband in history. The new TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub is just a scam, theres no difference at all except the design. Only reason I can’t leave is because our contract hasn’t ended yet. Please avoid using this provider it is a cowboy outfit. They lie and charge you for a service that they don’t supply. I paid for super fast broadband with an additional charge for a booster service. The maximum speeds I got between 5- 10 on downloads. I was assured I would get minimum speeds up to 24
I am out of contract now and have moved back to VIRGIN I will never ever use TalkTalk for any thing and would advise others to do likewise

Genuinely don't know where to start with TalkTalk. They are honestly the worst company I have every come across. Ever part of their service is the worst you could possibly imagine.

Please if you're reading this, looking for an internet broadband and thinking 'oh yeah all the reviews are pretty bad but it is the cheapest out there I'll just go with them' then don't! Definitely 1000000% worth forking out the extra pound or two a month and going with someone else.

You'll end up spending more money with talk talk anyway as your internet 100% wont work and you'll then ring up and ask why and about 5 days later they'll tell you it's because you don't have fibre so you'll get that for another £5-£10 a month only to find that doesn't work properly so you'll then try and cancel but find out that costs around £120.

Please just take my advise from someone who has probably reviewed only a couple of things in my whole life that it really isn't worth it.

Fitzwilliam TalkTalk
An incredibly poor service from a terrible company. Literally every single thing they do, try to do, or claim to do, is so bad it's almost unbelievable but the other reviews on here along the same lines will at least back it up.

First the actual service you pay for. A rubbish, cheap router is sent out and will regularly drop out. The WiFi range is about 3ft and don't expect signal I'm another room unless your walls are made of cardboard. The service goes off every night as their dynamic line management service kicks in between 11 and 2am so don't try to use your internet then, you should be sleeping, talktalk said.

The customer service is so bad I thought it was a prank, being stupid is standard but I must be getting the premium package because every person I've spoken to is rude, lying and / or obviously doesn't care about their job or their customer. No pride in what they do, and to be fair, if you're sat in a 3ft by 3ft cell I'm Bangalore taking calls from people in the rich 1st world for 12 hours a day while you're paid a few quid a month, why would you care about them.

There isn't a single positive thing about talktalk. Every single thing they offer is a rip off and every single claim they make is a lie. They're not the cheapest, in fact they're one of the most expensive. Their kit isn't any good, it's cheap rubbish from China. Their customer service isn't any good, they don't care and don't have the skills or tools to do the job even if they did give two hoots. Avoid.

Lymm TalkTalk
Useless customer service.

I've been a customer for over 5 years an never had a problem with the line.

it started when the talktalk router HG635 kept dropping the wifi signal and then asking for the password of devices that were already connected before it dropped every few days and having to reboot the router for the wifi signal to work. When the wifi is dropped, the SSID is not visible so cannot chosen. This increased to 3-4 times a day. Before i contacted TalkTalk CS i did a few checks of my own (my job includes working with networks, routers, switches etc). We had recently bought new cordless house phones and eliminated them from being the cause by disconnected them and went back to the old phones for week and also changed channels on the router but the problem still occurred. My line is good and any device connected by Ethernet had no issues even when the WiFi had dropped, they still worked. I have network points in every room with devices connected via 16 port hub. So with this I narrowed the fault to the router. I called the CS number (0345..) which put me thorough to a utterly useless messaging service. After explaining the issue in full and what i had done to fault find, all they kept doing was line checks and of course it was fine. This went on for over 4hrs after which they said they could book a engineer which will be chargeable (£65). This is useless i thought and contacted them by the Chat window thinking i'll get more joy. Explained the issue and said i had tried the messaging service and what checks i had done to prove the fault to no avail. They did the same test with the same results (Really!!). To be fair the lady did try but the issue returned with gusto after a day. So i contacted them via the chat window again while the wifi was down thinking they have my previous call on record and could check the router (which they can) while the the problem was in effect and see for themselves. Oh no, No records of my previous contact and I had to go through the same palava again after i said the line been checked by themselves numerous times and the fault is with the router. Being that i was chatting to them using my pc in my house which is wired and i confirmed, they couldn't grasp the fact the line was good.
Again they said they can book an engineer at cost. they added that if the router had to be replaced this would be extra £60 and have to (get this..) return the faulty one back to them.
That done it for me and at this point i had enough and bought one of the bay for HG633 for £3 + postage which will arrive in a few days.

I never had a problem with the line and still don't but it seems their script only contains info about the checking of the line and goes blank if anything other than that.
I'm not expecting them to know the environment in my house but if the problem only exists in the house and only on wifi and proven, it does not take a IQ of Albert Einstein to quickly realise the fault is with the router.

Being charge to return a faulty unit on top of being charged for a replacement takes the utter Pee. If this is how they are, i may as well buy a my own router like a draytex router which i had before and was faultless and provided excellent service for the 7 years i had it
