For the customer service and one of the managers name Angela I would give total of big fat 0, no customer service qualities at all, if you don't like your job don't do it. I have chosen the provided by talk talk automated payment over the phone. From over a year I have been raising a complaint that the automated line reads all the numbers but not the numbers on my card, I have been raising the payment issue every month at the end I've been told I should choose a direct debit! Why? I don't have to if there are other options available. YOU! as a provider should fix the problem. Because of this issues I have been paying charges,oh how lovely for this company that the automated payment works with an extra charges, no problem with paying them!!! I will be changing the provider, but I will not leave without the COMPENSATION!!! ENOUGH!

You guys are lucky that I am giving you a '1' when you deserve zero. Why should I have to write to you via the postal system or even phone you when this is an issue regarding absolutely woeful internet access/speed. How ridiculous is the fact that I cannot use a simple email method considering I am paying a lot of money to have internet access via your company. It's a bit like being asked to send a message via carrier pigeon during the 2nd world war when phone, radio and morse code were the norm. Come on, do something.

After six weeks dreaded callsafe is not removed, increase on a bill £2 monthly is not removed despite I was assured increase want HAPPEN.I have asked for adding my husband name as a account owner and no form was send. Better still my request was mixed with obtaining power of attorney! Disgusting service and lengthy calls from my site!!!!!!!!!!!

Engineer visited and told me that he would be unable to complete installation and that TalkTalk would contact me. Received an email from TalkTalk to say that there would be a delay. I waited.. and waited.. and waited.. then eventually called them. They told me that my service was already active and that they had already been charging me. I asked for a refund of the charges prior to the call and they refused even though I hadn't been using their service and they hadn't told me my service was active.

My internet goes off every time it rains...
I have to go through toe same old thing every time I call them, nothing changes... call them , speak to someone who can’t speak English properly, very hard to understand, but always very polite...can’t wait for contact to finish.....

This company and all its staff are all fraudster. They expect u to pay for months of service they never provided you. With most of the staff are all criminals. I would never suggest any body to use talk talk. Please I beg you guys. This company is terrible.

Despite the horrific reviews, we had to choose Talktalk as no other provider served in our area. We have been consistently impressed with the customer service we have received and can only deduce that they have upped their game. The setup was extremely quick and efficient, the broadband has only gone once in six months and they fixed it within an hour, and their online Live Chat function is brilliant and run by people that know what they're doing. We understand they have a reputation for poor customer service and reliability but, unless we've been extraordinary lucky with our engineers and agents, we are fairly sure they've made some big changes for the better.

If you have reliable broadband, keep it, do not join Talktalk, Internet connection stops, starts, stops, starts and then stops for 2days,spend an hour to Talktalk India who say no fault on line, engineer changed adsl socket, fixed for a week now back to no connection, connected, not connected same recurring problem etc, this with a wired connection and speed halved. Cannot shop online as Internet will cut out at any point. Just awful
Please don't join a Talktalk contract.

Only one week was enough for me to switch from TalkTalk to another provider, as my first week was with no internet and they took 4 days to fix the problem. After few days only the internet start to be bad again. I don’t know if this company will last even. It is better to pay more so you can have internet than paying cheaper and stay with rubbish internet “ this is my advice”

Broadband continually cuts out, had a new socket fitted, new router, engineer reset system which recovered my speed. 1 week later- broadband continually cuts out blah blah, spend yet another hour on phone while they say no fault- just utter rubbish.

As far as I am concerned, the overall broadband experience from Talk Talk was no better or worse than any other provider, but what sets them apart is absolutely shocking customer service.
I looked to move, called CS and they opened a case to see if they could provide... wait a call back. They call off a 0800 number to the number you logged (after going through security) and ask you to go through security questions. Yes they advise a call is due in a window, but I will never answer a security question on an inbound call. You then get a text saying you were ‘unavailable’ and they will try again. Same drill.
You call them back answer security and get told ‘we’ll log a case’! Finally get through to find out they can’t supply to new address (had already moved) so I have to terminate, pay early leave fee (understand) pay notice (understand) but not from the date of the original call (miffed) and also I am liable for any costs incurred in the next 30 days !!
Oh yes and with various lengthy holds that was 50 minutes of my life I’ll not get back.
Talk Talk their CS can do, but satisfaction from a call ??

Given an activation date for a house move that could logistically never happen (wasn't told this at time) in order to get me to stay with them, given a new better price for the package (still being billed for the old price 2x as much!), informed by them that I have an unstable connection leading to a download speed of 10mbps (AWFUL!) but then they won't arrange for an engineer to come and solve it unless it is at my cost. Won't upgrade my router despite apparently being a faster fibre customer. Can't get help, can't even get a connection most of the time. Call centre isn't based in England so noone actually understands your problem. Raised a complaint to the CEOs office and was told I'd get a response - never did. This company DO NOT care about customers. Give your money to someone else. ANYONE else would be better.

Absolutely shocking! We have not had the promised speed since day 1! When called for an enginerr (the first 3 times) they never sent one. When I escalated to a manager they were just as useless. A month later and still no engineer which means we are still at a low speed. They don't work together in the complaints team, they make you go through the whole process again (I have had the same conversation 10 times) without any resolution. DISGUSTING SERVICE.

The worst customer service I have experienced was promised a call back in 5 minutes with an update and had to wait over 3 hours for the call. I was passed round 8 colleagues which were not communicating to each other so had to give all my details over again and weren’t listening to my queries or concerns. And was told they couldn’t help me after being on the phone for over an hour. When I was called back over 3 hours later to get a quote for setting up and the different packages I was told to ring someone else they couldn’t put me through and then after another hour on the phone wanted to take my bank details when I said I didn’t want to go ahead without speaking to my partner who has gone out for the evening and am unable to get in contact with due to poor signal.

I was told no payment would be taken and said my only available day is the 23rd as that is when my current package expires. They agreed at the beginning of the call that was no problem yet on the email I subsequently received with the quote on it was the 27th and the quote on the email was much higher than what was agreed on the call and was not including the add ons I had requested.

I tried calling back immediately and was told they can’t help me, I have to wait until tomorrow. When we confirmed all the dates and said I’m not available tomorrow as I am at work and you have already wasted hours of my time on my day off.

Stay well clear of TalkTalk absolutely appalling service I would recommend BT much better customer service.

Absolute shambles of a company and the Customer service is appalling! This is an internet service provider who seems to struggle to provide internet.

We recently moved and phoned talk talk to see about joining them after a neighbour had recommended them. Said neighbour had a fibre package which we were after. We were told there would no issues with our fibre order and that it would be installed at theirs and our earliest convenience (approx 2 weeks later). All good so far. The day before they were due to attend they phoned and cancelled the engineer appointment saying their was a problem with the line and openreach would have to attend. We then had to wait 3 weeks for an openreach engineer to turn up. He arrived believing he was here to install our fibre and wasnt made aware it was to repair the line. He wasn't able to repair the fault due to not having the correct equipment. The fault in the line was the copper wiring for the fibre at the exchange. We then had to wait another week for another openreach engineer to attend. This engineer was able to repair the fault and install my router etc. My internet wasnt on at this point though and after a phone call with talk talk customer services I was advised my order had been cancelled due to a "techinal error". Just a fancy way of saying someone in the office had cocked up! I was then told I would have to reorder everything and start again which would mean waiting another 2 weeks (at least) for an engineer to attend. At this point I had already been waiting 6 weeks. I requested to file a complaint with their complaints manager. I was eventually passed through to her and after speaking with her for 5 mins she had assured me my internet would be active by the next day and she didn't understand why the last agent had told me my order had been cancelled. I was happy with this believing I would finally be getting internet but of course this wasnt case. The next day came and my internet still wasnt connected. I phoned talk talk very frustrated at this point for another agent to tell me my order had in fact been cancelled! They advised theres nothing they can do and must follow normal procedures which would mean waiting 2 weeks for an engineer again to activate my internet. I advised I had an engineer yesterday who repaired the line and connected me up and that I also had my router so I didn't understand why they couldnt just switch me on. I was told this couldnt happen as they must follow the normal procedure. I demanded to speak to a manager and was eventually passed through to one. This manager then told me she wasnt allowed access to certain parts of my account to answer my questions so swiftly got told to put me through to a manager who actually can. Over an hour on the phone by this point I finally got through to a manager who could go into further details about my order. They advised they cancelled my order because of the repair to the phone line needing done. I asked why cancel and not just postpone my go live date to which they never had an answer to. I then asked why it has took 4 weeks, 2 engineer visits, repairing the fault and sending out my router to my address before they realised my order had been cancelled to which they also couldnt give me a valid answer. I was then passed back to an agent who told me they have just noticed fibre isnt available in my street. This is of course an absolute lie. As I said at the start my neighbour has a talk talk fibre package and just to be sure I checked with BT if I could get fibre and they advised me yes. The agent then told me it was just my property on the street that fibre wasnt available in. Yeah ok then why did the engineer repair the fibre line and tell me everything was good to go? Talk talk clearly just couldnt be bothered with the hassle any longer and asked me to cancel my contract. They never even asked whether I may think about downgrading to normal broadband they just wanted rid of me. So even if it were true and I couldnt get fibre in my street they just wanted me gone and again if it were true this has taken talk talk 6 weeks, 2 engineer visits and many phone calls for them to realise fibre isnt available but like I say it's a lie. I will now be joining BT but of course have wasted 6 weeks of my time on talk talk! Avoid them go with anyone else!

When it works it can be great but constantly have issues with connection, sneakily put the monthly payments up without telling you so only noticed when I checked my bank statements, not happy with the overall service

Nothing can describe my disappointment and anger from my experience with using talk talk I honestly hate how the connection is at a minimum state whenever I use it I download things at 1mb/s when it is ment to do 30mb/s. Also I like to play a lot of game so I need to use internet to play online however whenever I go online I can get kick out of the game because I have lost connection. Although ethernet is an alternative I don't want to have wires to connect everything together also the bad internet isn't just on my phone or console it's even bad on my laptop which I use next to the router this frustration is what led me to make this review.

I would recommend to next buy or consider. Better service provider are out there that just charge a little more.

A very bad service, being a new customer and only the second month in and told I would not be charged for an engineer, then told to pay nearly £90. Spoke to a lady (helpful) a case was opened and then I asked to be put through to the collections department, the guy I spoke to said it would be put on hold until dispute was sorted. Well, they still tried to take the money out of my account and wait for it, the guy I was speaking to decided to yawn away like I was boring him. What sort of customer service was that? But the call is recorded so I have proof, so Jo Page what is going on with your team?? Talk Talk may be cheap but you cannot have so many customers with the same problem all the time, and I know you do, it all starts with management. Cheap does not always mean better sometimes and I was warned not to use Talk Talk because of what would happen, and they were right....smh....I have the proof of being told certain things, Just cancel my subscription, Talk Talk are not the best and just give stress.

The broadband speeds are horrendously slow and the internet decides to stop working at least once a day. The worst thing is that there are much better packages for the same cost.

I cannot tell you enough how awful the recent experience ive had with talk talk has been. 
The story is a long one but briefly I wasnt able to use the tv service as signal so bad...they couldnt EVER talk to me as systems are always down....they dont listen to what you say and ask the same questions..cancelled my service then restarted it without me saying...list goes on. Please save yourself the frustration and upset.
UPDATE FOLLOWING REPLY FROM TALK TALK
I did contact the tech team mon many occasions but the wifi just wasnt enough to run the tv service at same time as laptops and phones so it kept freezing. They could not change this.
Recently I went online to change address for moving house and the system wasnt working so I was told to chat. I tried to do so 4 times but 3 times the system was down and twice I was promised a call back which never happened after phoning.
I was moving so gave up and went with another provider. Tried to call and cancel but system down. Eventually got to chat and was told i didnt need to cancel as it was already cancelled as new tenants provider had contacted. Then recieved email saying welcome to talk talk in your new home...hadnt even asked for it. Messaged again system down. Then got letter saying goodbye and i have to pay 89 pound to get out of contract..which i disputed as Id tried to transfer service. Was told by new provider that my phone number wasnt even registered at my property so couldnt transfer it. Then after moving the new tennants cant connect as my service is still live! Tried to chat again today and guess what? Systems are down.
Its just been awful...frustrating and upsetting when already trying to move house. Wouldnt mind so much if the wifi quality had been good to start with.. more detail now given thank you x

I ordered my package with talk talk. I Was told I would receive my box before the 2nd aug 2019 and to plug it in and set it up. I Was told on the phone that an engineer would come to make sure everything is fitted and running smoothly. But as I was at work on the date. They said not to worry as the engineer can switch on everything from outside the property. Then I received a confirmation text from the engineer on the 2nd saying it's all up and running and that I'm active. I get home from work and the box/router is still flashing Amber. The engineer did not come to the address nor did they turn anything on. I got on live chat to Mary. After an hour of apparent running tests for my line she asked me to get a screw driver and take off the face of the master socket and start fiddling inside. She stated this is necessary to all customers as a second test! I declined as my hands and knees are not good at the moment. But I didn't tell them that. She persisted and I declined. She then could do nothing for me. Conversation ended! I phoned talk talk customer services the next day to get further help to switch my broad band on. The customer service assistant Phil told me to do exactly the same thing after half an hour if checks on the phone. I said I was at work but unwilling to go and do d.I.y on phone sockets at my property as that's not what i signed up for. They refuse to send an engineer to my property to switch on my Internet for me because I was unwilling to do this with the phone sockets myself. They said this is apart of the checks. I declined and said no I'm not doing that. If you want me to stay a customer with talk talk please send an engineer to set up my broad band to my address That's all I'm asking and I'll stay a customer with talk talk. To which they declined. And so I've gone through cancellation of the whole package. What an ordeal! I cannot believe this ******** disgraceful experience of trying to get Internet from talk talk. Never ever ever again! Talk Talk consistently fail to provide the service that they guarantee.

Their reputation for being a poor broadband provider is well deserved.

They are only interested in money, they are not interested in providing the service that they guarantee or in fixing the issues that regularly arise with their service.

They are reluctant to send out an engineer to fix any faults- I was advised that I would be charged £40 for an engineer to be called out to resolve an issue that I hadn't caused.

I insisted that I wanted to leave Talk Talk and I was advised that I would be charged £40 for the early termination of my contract.

After spending an hour on the phone, being transferred from department to department and being put on hold, a manager finally agreed to send out an engineer free of charge.

The engineer failed to fully resolve the issue and I have another engineer visit booked for next week.

Please seriously reconsider if you are considering joining Talk Talk.

As almost every reviewer here has said, they are a very poor company.

Absolute disaster.
I ordered the new line to replace SKY because I needed the fixed IP. After about 10 days the technician arrived, they forced me to put a new line but, after 4 days, it never worked.
The technician who came for the installation was completely incapable and rude and unprepared.
After dozens of phone calls I asked for the cancellation and they had the courage to ask me for money! Absurd!
Furthermore, I can no longer reconnect to SKY!
Please listen to me stay away from TALKTALK!

In only one year I have had 3 different routers from TALK TALK, connection constantly drops. Was meant to have an engineer today, which never turned up. I was then advised the next appointment is in a weeks time, no apology from customer service. Shocking Service and reliability!! it's 2019 and their flagship router can't even handle 2 xbox ones running at the same time. pay the extra and go with BT - never had a problem with them, connection always stable. You really do pay for what you get. STAY AWAY FROM TALK TALK!!

Avoid TalkTalk at all cost. Notified them we were changing provider, but I am still being billed by TalkTalk for services we are no longer receiving from them: phone and broadband. Spoken to 4 different advisers in as many days, they deny having received our notification to cancel, even though we were issued with a new phone number at the end of June by our new provider.

Trust me: Do NOT use TalkTalk. Very poor service. Very poor customer service. Very impolite staff.

We just moved to the UK and didn't know how awful TalkTalk is. We ordered an Internet package, and TalkTalk told us that we need to wait almost 3 weeks to have the engineer at our house. ThalkTalk set the appointment at 1 pm to 6pm on a day, for 3 weeks later, and we were told that we need to stay home because the engineer would come here to sort out the internet. They said that the procedure would take about an hour. Therefore, I did not go to work and staid home on that day. I received a message at 11:41 saying: "Your engineer is on the way, so please don't go anywhere. Your service will be up and running soon.". This message included a mobile number. I stayed home, but nobody showed up. At almost 4pm, I sent a message to phone number to let them know that I were looking forward to seeing the engineer. But they didn't answer. I called the mobile number several times, but they didn't answer. Afterwards, I called the phone number that I found on the website of TalkTalk. They said that I need to wait. The time was almost 5pm.

This time, I went to the website of TalkTalk and made conversations on the chat. They assured me that I need to stay home because it was not still 6 pm. I staid home, but nobody showed up. I again made a conversation on the chat, and the person said that I need to wait again and call them in one hour. I asked the manager's direct phone number, but she didn't answer the right number. They gave me a regular phone number. I called the phone number after 6 pm, and the person answered me that their system is not working, and I need to call them in two or three hours in order to say what is going on. Then, I asked her to connect me to the manager, and she did. But, nobody answered. Again I called, but nobody answered me the right information. They just said to me that their system is not working and they cannot connect me to the manager, and they cannot answer me why nobody showed up. Very rude, very impolite customer support without any help.

I didn't go to work for nothing, and I had not eaten anything because I have had to stay home with a lot of pressure. Can you imagine that such rude persons didn't care about anything just money.

I really need to know, why they asked me to stay home, because they wanted to set up the internet. Why they sent me message to stay home? Why nobody came to my home to set up the internet? Why they don't answer me what is going on? Why they are such rude?

Afterwards, I found the email address of their CEO, and contacted them. The day after, they sent the engineer. He came here and said that the Internet will be OK in 10 minutes and immediately went out without any explanation. I staid two days and the Internet was not connected, calling them several times. TalkTalk does not care about you, they just care about the money.

I cancelled my contract with TalkTalk. I then ordered Virgin Media. Such nice Virgin Media. Very good service, polite and supportive staff working in Virgin Media.

I wich i could give 1 star. Really avoid don't use them. We canceld direct with them after 1 month. Internet broke down every few days. And customers or technical support is extremely useless. Every time they said we don't see anything wrong it should work! Or they say its normal because your internet connection is new it needs few weeks to get the highst speed!!! That was most nonsense thing i have ever heared. Never heard that or had that from any provider before. And they speek extremely bad English i couldn't understand so much when i had them on the line. Back to my previous internet provider.

Worst company ever... I got broadband with them over a month ago and since I got it is just issue after issue. It seems like the internet only works whenever it wants to work, as for the whole month it might work today and tomorrow stop working so since I got it I’ve been having to call nearly every 3 days to get then internet back working. Last week it wasn’t working for the whole week, I called three times and every time they told me to wait up to 72hrs and the last time it did start working. It started working yesterday and it is back down again. They did compensate me with £30 but I don’t care about the money I just want my internet to work and with this company it’s clearly going to be hard to get what you pay for.

Had great service up until trying to cancel, lying about cancelations, placing me on hold for an age in the hope I would give up trying to cancel. Taking all my details only to pass me on to someone else and say they can't do my request after spending 10 minutes discussing my cancellation etc.

TalkTalk is not trustworthy at all, they say they will send an engineer out without sending one at all. Wouldn't recommend anyone to buy from TalkTalk!

If there was a zero star I would have selected zero. 3 days in, I had intermittent connection drops every 15-30 minutes and on the 3rd day, no connection. Customer Services/Technical are offshore in South Africa who are completely USELESS. Try another ISP. I opted back for Sky I have been with for 10 years.

Appalling - connection did not meet anywhere near the guaranteed amount, struggled with them for over 2 months to try and get it fixed (with TalkTalk repeatedly just shunting me from department to department). Multiple occasions of where they did not turn up to scheduled calls that I had cancelled on paid work for; generally incredibly unhelpful and useless customer service. They technically owe me over 400 pounds under the Automatic Compensation scheme - quite sure I will not be seeing any of that!

I’ve been with talk talk broadband for over a year,and have extended my contract for another year.Previously with Virgin,and there service was terrible,nowhere near the speeds they promised at top tier,and was constantly going down.Its this,it’s that,send you a new router,still same problems.Leaving,well,that call was almost as long as my 8 years with them. I had talk talk years ago when it first started up,and never had a problem. 15 months in,and it’s the best move I ever did,never had any problems,and the promised speed of 76mb is just that and some,I struggled to get 50 on virgin cable,when it was working.No throttling,and am very happy that they delivered what they promised.Thats just my review of the service they provide me.A very happy customer.
