The worst company I've ever dealt with. The Customer Service based in India is appalling. They cannot be trusted with your personal information and data - this has fallen into the hands of criminals and TalkTalk has been useless in dealing with this - it has compromised my computer causing expense - don't deal with this dodgy, awful company.

Honestly I wouldn't even give talk talk 1 star if I had an option for Zero.

Aside from the terrible intermittent internet which persisted for half a year. They charged us for bt open reach engineers who evidently didn't fix the problem which persisted. after finally agreeing to allow us to cancel our contract without cancellation fees I discovered they charged us again for the most recent engineer visit £65. Customer service is ridiculous. I am fairly sure I have wasted over 10 hours of my life speaking to them over the course of a few months.

    Overall an absolute nightmare

Never worked from the beginning - engineer never turned up. Despite it never having worked they wanted to charge to have it fixed as they said they could not find a fault - turned out that they were looking at the wrong account. Still does not work after over three months and they are still billing me. The account they were fiddling about with now does not work either. :(((

I have found my experience with TalkTalk over the past 2 years very mixed. I had excellent service for the 1st year but since the transition from a new to existing customer I have bombarded by price increases, deceptions and confusion when renewing a contract and stressful phone calls. Giving notice of moving house was no exception. The online process gives no option to cancel and instead forces you to carry over or choose a new package. Equally, on the chat despite being clear with my request I was being coerced to continue my account or even pass it onto the next tenant at the rented property I'm leaving! Absurd. TalkTalk has made it clear they don't care about the consumer, only the consumption of profits. Last time I use this company.

Terrible, just terrible. We were moved to them from another provider, very slow broadband, 2mbps at times, now get 11 with new provider. First bill was wrong and we had to argue the toss to get it reduced to amount they'd told us in a letter. Move away was problematic, phone was moved first without warning incurring us £7 bill for phone calls to their useless and unhelpful 0870 customer service. Avoid at all costs, possibly the worst company I've had the mispleasure of dealing with, and I've dealt with Orange/EE.

    About talktalk mobile review:

There are many providers give mobile contract very chaper than talktalk mobile. Please think more, before buying talktalk mobile.

Here, I want to share my experience because of buying talktalk mobile, then you will decide to buy talktalk mobile or not.

Last year, unfortunately, I bought mobile from talktalk. It's a very basic modal. contract is £10 per month. My broadband contract completes last year itself. Last 3 months, my broadband speed is very very slow. It shows less than 2 Mbps. Sometimes, it loads less than 1 Mbps. I complaint manytimes, but speed will not increase. sometimes google.co.uk itself takes loads for 2 minutes. If I will try to load youtube, it takes minimum 5 minutes to load one song. So, I was thinking to move from talktalk broadband to other provider. I informed to talktalk, I am thinking to leave from talktalk broadband. They informed me, my broadband contract automatically extends another 2 year because of my mobile purchase from talktalk. If I will cancel broadband contract, they told me to pay £24 pound per month for mobile in the remaining contract period. Then, I asked to cancel my mobile contract, they told me to pay £120 pound to cancel my mobile contract (that mobile cost itself £70 pound in the market).

So, please think many times before buying mobile from talktalk, There are many providers in the market ready to give in same price or even less than that.

I don't want to give one star itself, but it's mandatory to select star.

Setting up the account was straight forward & simple, broadband speed & reliability has never been an issue for us. However coming to the end of our contract is when problems began to arise.
We were coming towards the end of our 12 month contract and we were moving house. I'd seen an offer advertised online which was cheaper than what we were currently paying. I rang TalkTalk to inform them that we were moving house and that I would like to be put on the deal I'd seen online once our current contract has ended and we'd moved house.

Firstly, their call centres are abroad, and several times the customer service advisors were unable to answer my questions fully and/or were unable to be clear.

First phone call - I was advised the offer I had seen was only available to new customers, so I didn't qualify. I then asked to terminate my contract when it had expired and I would be taking up a deal with Sky which was able to offer me a better price. The advisor then said he would be able to reduce the price for me, but they didn't do 12month contracts any more, only 18 month. I only wanted 12 month, and pointed out the offer they had advertised online was for a 12 month contact - so this was the first piece of incorrect information I was given. Never the less, he was unable to offer me the deal they had online or offer a package which was more competitive with the sky offer. So he informed me my account could be terminated on the 15th of October. That was fine, the conversation ended there.

After this conversation, I had a suspicion that things may have not gone through with the cancellation due to communication difficulties, so I rang back to double check.

Phone call number 2 - got through, gave information across, got cut off, couldn't get back through.

Phone call number 3 - I explained I'd rang yesterday to cancel, I wanted to double check this had gone through.
He informed me that I rang yesterday regarding a home move and that if requested to take my phone number with me. ???? I had certainly not requested anything of the sort. We don't have a house phone, I don't even know my phone number, I 100% did not ask for this. I was told he could process the cancelation from now, which would take us several days over our contract, which I wasn't please with, as I rang to cancel yesterday and this should be on the system. It is stated that calls are recorded, so would he listen back to the conversation I'd had so prove that I had asked for cancellation and not to keep my phone number. The advisor kept repeating what was on the system, which I kept repeating these notes were incorrect and a mistake had been made. All he could say was 'I'm sorry, but I can only cancel your account from today. You asked to keep your phone number' To which I replied 'There has been a mistake when making notes on your system, and I am being charged for this mistake, and you're telling me I asked for something I didn't.' All he could do was repeat himself and repeat what was on the system and not effectively respond to my comments and complaints. He at one point told me I was on a warning for being aggressive. I not once raised my voice or used inappropriate language.
Eventually he spoke to his manager who was able to cancel the account sooner. Finally, we were getting somewhere. He told me I would be billed on 2 dates and not to cancel my direct debit. I asked how much I would be billed, he was unable to tell me. I asked if I was still being billed in accordance to my current contract (to ensure I wasn't being put on a higher rate until the end) once again, he couldn't answer any of my questions in regards to this and said I would have to wait until my bill came through and ring the billing department if I had an issue.

The customer service is poor. Communication is difficult, all the advisors can do is repeat the limited information they have and read off a script.
    Not worth the effort.

A few months ago had some problems with my broadband, an engineer came over said the wire was broken and the box didn't have the cover, I got charged £50. The box on the wall was left still open. The wires cot damaged, I have been without using the service for over 3 months. Called talk talk to discuss termination. But I still have to pay the next month!?!? The advisor offered to send an engineer over, but to be charged another £50. The charge is up to the engineer! Very unhappy with the treatment to an existing customer of years now!! Sure, loads of offers for new customers! Do not recomend . Hope something happens rg this and that my review is taken seriously thus me writing a retraction.

I have been without a phone for over 6 weeks now. We had an outreach engineer visit who said the problem was outside the house and required digging to fix the problem. Talk talk contacted me and informed me the job would be done by 13th September. The date come and nothing happened. I phoned them for an update and treated the call as a new fault report and said they will have to send an engineer. They don't listen to you at all. Avoid talk talk.

*AVOID AVOID AVOID* this is the most shoddy company I have ever been with. Intermittent connection during the night, advisors lying, being on the phone for over an hour with the faults team and them not rectifying anything and trying to charge me for breaking the contract a month early even though it's allowed when they've announced a price hike. People always ringing pretending to be them. I'm going back to plus net their customer service was brilliant when I lived at home with my parents. I guess I thought I was being clever getting it a couple of quid cheaper a month but they've hiked the prices 3 times anyway. Very, very dissatisfied. Heed my warning and dont touch them with a bargepole. I didn't heed the warning and look at where it got me...

    Run... I mean run

Had my install, signed up for my home number being withheld. Talk talk did not issue us any documentation with our home phone number on it...
Split with the wife, i'm taking on the account.
We print out and fill in a change of ownership form, using account number. For the phone number (it does not dictate landline) i put a contact number, my mobile.
We then part ways, send it in, assuming everything should be done.
Talk talk send me a letter saying i need to fill in the form with the landline number (not asked for, did not have it) and did not send me the form back...
I call up, explain the situation, explain the emotional distress travelling to see my wife again would be and how every other company has been reasonable. Talk talks response... Go see her and get her to sign the form and send it in for this to happen.
This goes on for around 45 minutes
Finally i get to a manager who insists not to worry, it will be completed within 7 days...
2.5 weeks later i get a price rise notice, the account ownership has still not been updated. Now the customer service rep tells me it will take another 7 days to complete.
I call back to verify this info, no record.
Customer service rep escalates this to ceo as a formal complaint
I call back to get an update... No record of the formal complaint
I raise through social media. I finally get a complaint number
I call to chase this after 4 days. Will not deal with me as i'm not the account holder even though i am the person who put in the complaint.
The Saturday i get a call saying it will be sorted on the Monday (the dd is due out of her account the same day so i hope its switched before then)
The direct debit comes out of my wife's account, i wire the cash to cover the bill.
I get a phone call later on that day saying the account switch has finally been done, a small apology. I log on, treated as a new customer, no records of any previous bills.
I finally put my notice in to leave, spend 1.5 hours doing so. They ask me to come up with an offer to stay, i say a move from fiber to regular broadband and £20 credit.
They say it cannot be done.
1 day later i get a call saying it can be done. By this point i'm already signing up with sky...

If you want customer service like this, go with talk talk. They may be the cheapest but if you have any difficulty they are terrible

This was my response to TalkTalk's emailed customer service survey so the language is aimed at them:

The worst customer service experience I have received of any large supplier, poor presentation of contact options on your website (I know you are trying to avoid lots of nuisance calls, but it is very very poor user experience), very poor response times, and in some cases never, to my complaints - even though I was told my concerns would be escalated to an advisor, attempting to increase rates to me within 6 weeks of joining (and thankfully I have a cancellation opportunity), sub-standard broadband speed when compared with Sky (our previous provider), tried to charge me £65 for a phone line engineer which you choose to appoint, I simply advised that connection speeds were too slow - imagine if I have been an old lady or man who wasn't capable or confident enough to check my statements regularly and tell you you are wrong (that is a disgrace)....on the whole, and I'm actually a very tolerant person, a poor experience with your company and I am very pleased to say that as of the 11th October 2015 - I shall no longer be one of your customers...put this review on your website.

Do Not ever Think that you will safe money if going with talktalk, regardless of their "package deals"
I have been with virgin for long time, then moved to talktalk cuz i thought i could save more money and it would be just little bit slower , in fact i thought i would get 17mbs, but i got peanutz dude!
LISTEN If you got more then 2 people in the house using the internet, it will slow down, you wont be able to stream videos, because the other guy is watching something on the tv box with this ****** connection.
Trust me getting a 4g connection is even faster!

Everytime i try to watch something online i cant, because the connection supports only 1 person i guess. Talktalk charged me 60 pounds for a engeener that never visited and forced me to pay it. Talktalk forced me to pay another 40 pounds for fiber optic conection which i never got because they couldnt provide it to me at that address. I tried all my best to quiet it, but if ANYONE CAN HELP ME, please how can i quit this rubbish provider.I once did when it was under my mums name, but they let us quit just because the engeener couldnt find my flat for 4 times(4 different appointments, was waiting for each 2 weeks, to get line installed in new flat. As talktalk is a incabable group i went to virgin guess what, the engeener came within 4 days! AND ALL SORTED!!!!!

ps would give 0 stars at customer service a d broadband speed if possible!

dont get trapped and choose different provider like bt , or virgin if you use alot the internet.

DNS servers slow at times bad, very bad, customer service. Spam not checked or blocked. Web mail has had problems. Says speed is 37mb but feels more like 15mb. Cost is reasonable in comparison but not so good service.

I've been with TT for a lot of years now and find it good value. Once upgrading to medium fibre I get 36mbps download and 2meg upload. My only gripe really is I expected more than 2 meg upload but 36mbps is great for HD on the Youview box with no buffering. Emails also the odd time have problems retrieving but this doesn't occur all the time. Generally a very stable connection with a great range super router. Customer service is poor offshore but if you complain like I once did on their survey email they quickly get a UK office to call you who are ace and know their stuff.

Once my current deal expires, I'm off!!
Internet drops out randomly. E-mail access is just pot-luck, one day I get an error message, the next I log-on and get a blank screen, sometimes I can actually get to my mail!! It took me about an hour yesterday to finally get to my mails after countless attempts. Customer services are generally OK, but I'm tired of having to call them about problems.
    In short, poor.

I had to suffer through two months of a few dozen phone calls to the customer centre in India, and taking time off work to let an engineer in (they never came in citing different excuses). I wrote my story on talktalksucks.org , hopefully will deter some people from using them as their ISP.

I have been with Talk Talk for less than a year, but they've already put their prices up twice, and they're about to do it again. Don't know how they can justify the price increase, as their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced (not a UK call centre, needless to say), and the broadband speed is ridiculously slow about 80% of the time. If you're thinking about joining DON'T DO IT!!

When you phone to complain the staff are not interested and just basically laugh at you!!
I could here other people in the call centre talking about calls they had just received and basically calling people idiots and stupid!!
The hole time i was in a contract with Talktalk was a very stressful and a nightmare of an experienced, my advice would be avoided like the plague!!!!!

Avoid at all costs. Still no internet a week after it 'went live.' Called up and was on the phone for over two hours to an Indian call centre. The guy barely spoke English and if your answer wasn't on his script he would just be silent. Painful experience. Told we would have to wait two more weeks for an engineer to come round so requested to cancel the contract. At this point we were told the cancellation policy ends the day the internet goes live so we would have to pay a breakout fee of £180 (2years internet). Do not use. Remember: the cheapest is always the most expensive....

Rubbish speed and reliability. Before take over from Aol by TalkTalk service was "reasonable" up to 3mb download - now it is approx. 1.1 if lucky! Still paying the same - will move asap. They advertise up 38mb for £15 a month plus 17.70 line rental - don't believe the 38mb - I am paying more and get 1.1 if lucky!

My average download speed with talk talk is 0.5 Mbs. After more than one month and hours spend on the phone with their terrible customer service they still didn't manage to resolve the problem. I had to cancel the contract and they wanted to charge me!

After switching from virgin they couldn't connect me on time although they had over a months notice. Then came all the lies premium rate calls and being passed around the Indian Customer care department Who blocked my mobile number from their non premium rate care number. All I wanted was a date they could have me connected or to know why they had a problem in the end they became the problem luckily I was able to cancel before the customer service department drove me totally insane. At no point did anyone ever ask what would make me happy or a phone call from them that i wasn't paying for total lack of empathy Avoid at all cost

Today I signed up for a Fibre and phone package online. Before I committed to the order I had a webchat with a TT advisor, I was assured that I would be able to change my activation date after I had placed my order. I duly clicked confirm and received my welcome e-mails.

I searched the TT site to find out how I could change the activation date - (my Sky contract runs until 14/10/15 and the TT activation date was 28/9) - I eventually find that apparently couldn't change the dae - not only that - but the activation datewas now te 25th September. I would be paying both Sky and TT for 3 weeks.

Confident that TT would honour their advisors advice, I phoned TT Customer support, I spoke to a barely comprehensible agent, who for 20 minutes explained that this was all according to their Terms and conditions, he kept repeating a jumble of words and grovelling apologies but no solutions. Eventually I made several attempts to explain to him that they were in breech of contract, Finally at 7:57pm he said he'd put me on hold and transfer me to the compliance team, 8:01 pm he told me the compliance team had all gone home at 8pm. Quite reasonably I asked hem to get the compliance team to call me tomorrow, he was unable to do this because they were closed and he couldn't contact them, I asked him to e-mail them, apparently they can only communicate with ach other by phone, e-mail and voice mail are beyond them.

A COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY THAT CANNOT COMMUNICATE INTERNALLY??

Should I just cancel and go elsewhere? There's a difference between goo value and cheap.

Not used anyone else but talktalk fibre speed varies and sometime stops working. If I had time, I'd consider challenging them that their service is not fit for purpose. I'll soon change.

I cannot believe that I was stupid enough to fall into the hands of this worse than useless bandit company.

If you are, like me, a gullible idiot tempted to fall for the sleek marketing fronting a disgraceful shell of a company providing a terrible service, I have one word of advice:DON'T.

The actual products (broadband, phone and mobile) are certainly the worst out there and their customer care and handling is beyond abysmal. I have made at least 10 calls to this company and every single one has been a completye and utter waste of time, with customer service people barely able to speak English, let alone competent to resolve the most simple of problems. I actually feel sorry for these call centre people because they obviously are having to rely on terrible admin systems.

I ahve now got to the point where it is really silly to keep on phoning/emailing these people. So I am going to have to write an old fashioned LETTER to ensure my problems are dealt with. What an indictment on a 21st century telecomms company!

I have had some pretty rotten experiences with utility companies in the past, as we all have I am sure, but nothing - nothing - compares to this bunch of charlatans. They really are the pits. For the first time in my life I hope that a company goes bust and those at the top thrown on the scrpa heap where they belong.

After cancelling my contract due to it ending and i was moving house had so many problems with Talk Talk. After being accused of not returning the equipment to them (even though i have proof of postage from Royal Mail) and Talk Talk acknowledged they received it after many phone calls, I have debt collectors chasing me for £120 i would not recommend that anyone uses the services of Talk Talk, customer service is very poor and the whole experience in general is stressful - AVOID TALK TALK!!!!!!!
