    Absolutely appalling internet connection, even worse customer service. As a customer of over 10 years, since before they were called TalkTalk (Tiscali back then), I finally got fed up of the terrible connection (slow speeds and 20-40 connection timeouts per day) and tried to cancel my contract.

    Despite the fact that I have phoned them every month for the last 4 months complaining/getting engineers sent out, they argued that they could not waive my early cancellation fees on account of the fact that I did not ring them every time my internet went down, so how could they verify my complaints? Dozens of screenshots of the speedtest that they recommend ought to do it, right? Nope. After 3 and a half hours on the phone with numerous departments, they tell you that in order to make progress with your issue, they need to hang up and call you back at a set time. THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK. Absolutely ridiculous.

    Rude, unhelpful, and incompetent customer service reps, combined with terrible connections. I know they seems like a good option because they're generally cheaper than competitors, but just know that you'll get way more value for your money out of any other more expensive ISP.

    Had talk talk for 2 months, was never working, was connected but there was no data coming in or out. after month of trying to solve the problem, they still didn't fix it so I left.

    This company is a nightmare. One problem after another. They don't look after their customers and to get things fixed at times is so lengthy and complicated. Will NEVER go anywhere near this company again. Do yourselves a favour and don't buy into the cheap and enticing deals they offer you WILL regret it.

    I've never written a review befor, not even for trip advisor- but felt so absolutely infuriated by the way I've been treated, that I had to find a forum to to warn people about this service. I agree with many of the other complaints listed on here- I never knew how important customer service was until I realised how utterly stressful it can be when it's completely inadequate. Needless to say my ongoing complaints are unresolved, I am being charged after cancellation which i think is illegal. I will be taking my complaint to OFCOM, as essentially I think Talk Talk have infringed my basic customer rights, not to mention affected my emotional health. Seriously folks- don't even entertain it!

    Indian service centre,slow broad band, expensive add ons and very poor service.
    Even had engineers visit address last lived in seven years ago to repair fault. Totally clueless.The poorest provider out there.

    I tried to remove a boost from my package. When attempting to do so on the internet I was told I couldn't do so and had to call a number. That number then had an automated message telling me I had to remove any boosts on the internet, very frustrating.

    If you have a problem you're in for a ride. I've had to change provider today as 2 months without broadband and empty promises that Amy case has been escalated, staying in to wait for promised callbacks that never come. Avoid.

    broadband speed less than 1 mb you wait and wait for pages to load then it says not available at this time page has expired customer servises dont seem to know what they are doing they say they will call you back and you get nothing then when you call them they say it takes 10 days to monitor the service they are providing so on a scale of 1 to 10 they get a big fat 0

    Village gone fibre a month ago. Talk Talk insist we do not have fibre. So we cannot upgrade their LLU at EALAT exchange. Tried to talk to service over many days,( south Africa). What a waste of time. Foul mouthed, called me a liar, about the fibre. (Date as of 12 Oct 2015) Then cut me off when i said i will cancel. Out of contract now, So will enforce Ofcom rules, and be on my way.Thank god. If your reading this, Do NOT and I mean it,Do NOT join Talk Talk. Until they bring support back to the UK STAY AWAY from them.

    And TALK TALK if you have the brains it is easy to put 2 and 2 together to see whom I am.

    Oh their Twitter support account. it is always condescending by sending. "Today is Friday have a nice weekend" or whatever day it may be. If you ask for help. they tell you to go away??

    I have used Virgin, BT and Sky broadband

    It is extremely slow and disconnects constantly. Definitely THE WORST broadband I have ever ever used.

    Extremely unstable. What a disaster!

    Do not use Talktalk they are a complete waste of time and their customer service skills are something else! I phoned the helpdesk in India about 6 times which was almost laughable and had engineers cancelled without notifying us so we wasted days off work to wait in for them. When I complained we were offered £10.43 which was a total insult as we were without broadband for 3 weeks.

    Talk talk customer service is so disgusting!!! After an engineer came to set up my box initially..for free! I was charged over £100. I disputed this only to be laughed at down the phone! I continue to fight this charge but they will not back down! I would highly highly recommend staying clear of talk talk....they are corrupt and steal from innocent people!!!! DO NOT DO IT!!!! They deserve to go bust!

    They only talktalk about your pocket when I joined they said I wouldn't need an engerneer but when I look at my statement they took £55 I rung up they couldn't explain why it was taken. So near the end of my contract wanted to cancel they told me to ring back on another date when I did ring they kept on lie on say systems down and to call back on a time when they closed. Customers service non existent and braking the law by false information. Keep away from the stress, if you got the time take them to court

    worst customer service of any company, ever, took 6 weeks to even get a 'service'. was charged for this despite being told i wouldnt be.
    router is useless. needs to be turned off and on at least once a day, do not use talk talk if you want to use for sky sports etc
    wifi constantly loses connection if you are more than 3 feet away
    1 star is too many, should be -5 all round. 2 stars for broadband speed when it actually works though.

    I have just come off the 'phone with talktalk and need somewhere to express my extreme dissatisfaction with their customer service. You can not do this one their website, suggesting that they know their "customer service" operators treat people with pure contempt and they just aren't interested in hearing about it.
    I signed up with talktalk last year, on a "fixed price" package. Well the price soon went up-but this was because of an increase in line rental charges, not service charges. A pedantic distinction maybe, but one that obviously went in their favour.
    Since then I have had no further dealings with them, but have seen the bills sneak upwards on occasion.
    Well this morning, I had the monthly bill through sporting a not insignificant 17.6% increase, so decided it might be time to jump ship.
    I duly set up an account with another provider and then called talktalk to notify them of the switch. Got through to speak to a chap in a reasonable amount of time and that's where things started to go wrong.
    He asked me for my postcode and name, and couldn't find me on the system. He asked for them again, and asked me to spell them, three times and couldn't find me. I offered up my account number, he said this wouldn't do and asked for my postcode again and couldn't find me. I asked to speak with someone else, this was refused. He asked for my postcode again (we are now up to 10 minutes). I offered my account number and bill number, he then told me to 'be quiet' and that that was the information I would offer up if I was a scam-artist. He then put me on hold for 5 minutes and managed to find my account.
    (If you are still with me-well done, by this point I was rapidly loosing patience) He then asked me if I would remain with talktalk. 'Probably not, but what price will it be?' was my answer, obviously a response from this young man was not forthcoming, he wanted to know what my new deal was, when I told him, he said they couldn't match it but did I want to stay anyway?
    Anyway, I finally managed to cancel, I will fast-forward a bit, to the end of the conversation. Oh the relief to know this was coming to an end!!
    The young man then asked if I was satisfied with the way the call was handled. I replied in the negative. Big mistake. 'Well why not?' was the not-polite reply.
    Taken slightly of guard, my answer was along the lines of 'well it did take you 10 minutes to find me on the system and you did leave me on hold for another 5'
    'well it's not my fault if I cant find you on the system is it?' was the charming response. (He did proceed to berate me for a little longer before I managed to end the call)
    So in summary, average provider of internet, with exceptionally bad customer service.

    Utter utter rubbish in all aspects. You might as well not have Wifi and save yourself the money, because you're not going to have it if you sign up with talktalk.

    Signed up to TalkTalk with £2.50 a month and a free voucher. Voucher never arrived and customer services made countless excuses. Hours of web chat did not end in a resolution. During the last year my charges spiraled upwards without advance notice. Ended the year at 4 times what i signed up to. Decided to switch to another provider, who informed us after order was placed that TalkTalk have put a cease order on our BT line and if we needed to switch then they can only take over once the cease order has expired. I contacted BT and they said no other company can take over since there is no expiration date on the order and a £140 will need to be paid if line needs to be activated. Called TalkTalk and they said it's standard procedure with them and they won't remove the cease order. Clearly this is against telecom regulations to prevent an out of contract customer from leaving and yet TalkTalk have just done that. Telecom companies are acting like a mafia and this needs to be addressed.

    As I no longer require my Talk - Talk connection and the telephone is to be discontinues. On 10th Sept I called for the service to be cancelled. I spoke to a most unhelpful person in India ?? who told me that I needed to give 30 days notice. It has been arranged for this Sat. Since then I have advised / replied 4 times to their e-mails. I have just received another e-mail from them saying I need to give 30 days notice.

    My internet connection was cut off somewhere on the line and it took me 3 months of instant phone calls, and long telephone conversations before someone turned up at the property.
    I the meantime I had to pay the bills. The UK based customer service was simply rude.
    They put me on the new contract by trick with few phone calls from India, and I accidently agreed and now feel tricked. Now I am stuck for another 18 months.
    The internet is terribly slow.
    I do not recommend TalkTalk to anybody.

    I am counting the months to the end of the current contract probably 15 months now…

    Very Poor all round ISP, speed and reliability is poor, Customer service is beyond words that I cannot describe, ok I suppose if you are of Asian decent, the last thing you need as a customer when you are having problems is trying to have a conversation with someone you cant understand or them having difficulty understanding you because of the language barrier not being funny here but sometimes when I have called customer service its as though I've phoned a takeaway to place an order all you can hear is people laughing and talking in a foreign language, sorry but that is so unprofessional , its a real shame both myself and my parents have decided to go elsewhere recently for our telephone/broadband because talktalk used to be a decent provider (I have been a customer many years) but due to poor service and their money grabbing antics over the last 6 months I had to call it a day has anyone else noticed the ever increasing monthly bills ?, I also switched my mobile phone provider from talktalk for similar reasons, first thing I noticed with my new mobile provider was the internet speed was immense, so don't get sucked in with the offers, deals and freebies its all a huge trick to get you signed up to a second rate service, do yourself a favour and do your homework before signing up with this outfit, Bye Bye Talk Talk !!!

    Absolutely awful!!! Took out fibre, was told we would get a speed of between 39-40mbps, currently getting 19! I have just got off over a 2 hour phone call and was on hold for 40 minutes to be told the highest speed i can get is 31mbps. Have been called a liar by the agent so i sent proof of the speed i was told i would get to be told i never should have been told that there's nothing they can do. Avoid this company at all costs, should have gone to BT.

    One of the worst service provider.... Promise something and and does something worse.... Custumer service one of the worst.... Makes you wait for whole day just for a little query.... Adverts one of the cheapest broadband deal but sky was cheaper and reliable than them.... Cant wait to end the contract and go back to sky..... Not happy at all.

    AVOID!!!!so when I was looking for a new broadband last year talk talk was advertised 75pound vouchers if you are doing a contract with them I was so tempted and the broadband seems cheap as well...then I made a contract but I didn't receive the voucher because I am new costumer ..but after then I noticed the cheap broadband speed is so slow so I had to make a change what cost me 50pound just a new fiber router plus 5pound /month....the internet speed is a bit faster now but it is not perfect I called them and I told definitely something wrong and the women said yes the test show her it is really not right something with the speed.and she told me:I have to fix it I was like WHAT????or her can send an engineer for 50pound I was like again WHAT????i just left it all.i can't wait till this contract end I pay now 26pound a month and I paid for a virgin before 27 and I have never had a problem with them.before you choose think about

    As we all know, TT were themselves hacked and customer details were passed around criminal gangs. I had a substantial financial loss as a consequence and the criminals keep on calling me - sometimes 8 times a day. Barring calls made by withheld numbers has no effect. The police say that I must change both my number and ISP, but TT insists on imposing a hefty cancellation charge if I leave. They ignore my complaints, or respond to points other than those I have made. Words simply cannot express how I feel about this company.

    Awful. Wish we had never strayed from Sky. Took days to connect us, the speed is slower than offered by Sky. We have to reset the wifi router weekly and once again, on a Friday the line has developed a fault which has so far taken four separate calls and 11 texts for them to assign a call with open reach..

    I now face another weekend without BB or a home phone.

    Beware, stay away from this as a cheap option.

    Terrible customer service (call centre outsourced), agents will keep you on hold for 20 minutes at a time. Their broadband speed is not fast at all compared to their competition, additionally it is not reliable.

    Appalling customer service..
    After waiting for 2 hours for a call back, they tried to blame my laptop rather than their router, though I could connect using a different network, or different router on same phone line.
    Was told he couldn't help, and to reset the router and call back if it didn't work.
    I said that wasn't good enough and he had to call me back, and after another hours wait he called back just to hang up on me after I said hello
    Now no response from talk talk at all.

    I would not recommend talk talk to anyone

    I would never ever recommend this company to anyone, the standard of service was appalling and not fit for purpose, the customer care is laughable, they charge you to leave what is a substandard product and I only hope the law changes to allow customers like myself to claim back what I feel has been stolen from me. Never again

    Absolutely dreadful service, since I've signed up for Fibre broadband, I've had to call and log slow broadband 5 times, this averages a call every 2 - 3 months. Even when they fix it, it's still only 50% of the advertised speed. The Customer Service is generally DREADFUL and to cap it off they repeatedly lose their customers data to hackers, resulting being inundated by fraudulent callers who try to rip you off with your personal details they gained from the mass hacks of the TalkTalk customer database! Do they apologise? Or even try to make amends? Not on your nelly mate! I wish I'd never heard of blooming TalkTalk!

    Talk talk is ridiculous!! I hardly ever get the broadband speed I should! The internet is constantly dropping out and youview box is just a huge joke!!! Almost all recording fail, the box hardly registers the fact your pressing a button on the remote!! And now it keeps completely freezing when it feels like it!! Bare in mind I've only had this box for a few months and it's never been dropped or anything in my care!! I've tried to ring there "customer services" but been waiting for someone to answer but then it just hung up! And the second time I tried to call it took them over an hour to even answer!! The fact that the price is low doesn't even make it worth being with talk talk!! I wouldn't even give them 1 star!!

    The worst service ever!!!!
    Since I've joined them I've had to call them at least 5-6 times every month sometimes more because of the dreadful Wi-Fi connection. The connection keeps connecting and disconnecting, there's not a single day where I don't have problem with the Wi-Fi. I need to restart the router everyday just to make it work. On top of that the speed is extremely slow. When I call them because of the problems I experience they make me go through the same process every time which doesn't fix anything at all. I end up having the same problem again after a few hours. I was on an 18 month contract so when I told them that I want to leave them before the end of the contract they told me I have to pay a cancellation fee of over £200. They then sent an engineer in who just wasted our time and did not fix the problem at all. After arguing back on forth on the phone they finally agreed that I could cut of the service if they could not fix it within 28 days, So now finally I am leaving their service and joining a more trustworthy and better service. However, now that they know that I am leaving them it seems that they're giving me even worse service. Take heed from my experience with TALKTALK and NEVER EVER join this revolting service!!!!

    Cant stream vidieos though wifi to second laptop Lots of buffering,
    connecton drop-outs sometimes videos buffer all the time
