I am not awarding any stars because in the 5 months I have been with the Post Office I have not received a reliable service and they have done nothing but lie to me about the issues. They refuse to visit the exchange even though they've established there are no problems within my house or where the connection enters my property. Managers are never available and return calls when you've told them you will not be available. I have tried to appeal to them on a humane level- that the stress is causing me chest pains but it makes no difference. They have my line rental up front asit was cheaper to pay it in this way so they have me tied in. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Not worth any stars . Said they were updating me to superbroadband. Lost connection on switchover day. Phoned several times got told to do lots of things still did not work told to wait till next day. Still not working got told to do checks again eventually said they would send an engineer out between 8 and 1 the next day and if I wasn’t in it would cost me £140. Nobody turned up. Given another date for 9th April, however luckily I was in as the engineer turned up two days early. Said there was no way I could get the new internet as my property was connected to the wrong type of box not the one which had the new fibre cable. Phoned post office once again who said they needed to send somebody else out. Engineer was still on sight so handed the phone to him to explain. Lots of holding on while different people were spoken to to be told that I couldn’t get the new service and couldn’t go back to the old one. They then told me I would have to change provider. Have only been with them for a few months and it took them 5 weeks to connect the service in the first place.. they should have looked into the service to see if it was compatible with their customers. Laughable they are still sending me texts telling me to be in on the 9th when an engineer will call despite the fact they have had to terminate my contract. Avoid them at all costs do not live up to their promises. And this stupid form asks for an email address I have no bloody internet thanks to you!,,

I am really disappointed with the service , I’ve had no internet for a month, this was in august , made so many calls, sometimes taking 15/20 minutes a time , that’s just to get through, didn’t find them helpful at all, except one guy who sorted it all out, gave me good will credit and I paid bill over the phone, only to receive my new bill plus an over due letter stating I still owe the £25 that was supposed to have been deducted , called again only to be cut off after being on hold for 8mins, so called back to get a stubborn man telling his kids in the background to shush, that my bill is correct , I ended up putting the phone down , due to being so frustrated , I’m going to cancel the phone and broadband :(

This is the single worst broadband provider I ever had. There is not day without at least 3-4 outages. PO Support never helps. Don't waste your money on this.

What can I say that hasn't been said by others, basically my partner signed us up with PO because it was the cheapest, but there is a reason for this, pity hadn't seen the reviews before! Since 'go live' (or should I say go dead) on 5 April, the broadband has not worked more than it has worked and even when it does work it is soooo slow, more like old dial up. Is the worst broadband 'provider' ever!!! Customer service was quick to answer but have not fixed problem. Ran line test and said all ok. Said an engineer would come out on one of two days (today Monday or tomorrow) but on Sunday I got a call to see how broadband was now. It was actually working ok for once so I stupidly thought it was fixed. Customer service said an engineer had checked it but found no problems (I now wonder if anyone has actually been out as I was previously told they may need to come into the house and they had no appointments until Monday). I was told by customer services that the problems could be due to the wind - never heard that before - and that if it reoccurs call back and they will get an engineer out to the house (which is why I think no one has checked it and they just don't want to get engineers out!) Anyway Sunday night, 10pm no boadband again, gave up trying to connect after an hour. And this morning patchy and keeps saying no internet. I really wish had not left Sky (they wanted to put prices up) never had any problems with them. I don't think the problem with PO is in the house, in the street or anywhere else, but is basically the PO - they can't provide a reliable, stable broadband connection. Do not sign up with them or touch with a barge-pole, unless you want constant disconnection and slow service!! Is not fit for service!! Have had to save this to copy and paste as keep losing connection to post review! Will have to just use my mobile data to tether (wish I could invoice PO for this!) as no broadband at all!! Help, I can't put up with a year of this!!

Mother in law aged 75 got broadband for first time from PO. Told would have broadband speeds of between 9 and 15 Mbps. She bought her first ipad and discovered her speed when using wifi was actually between 0.1 and 0.4, that was when the signal was strong enough to allow her to run a speed test! I spoke to customer services for her and was told she would have to run three speed tests over the course of a day and submit them. She did this and was then told wifi tests were no good as BT will only accept a test from a lap top connected by an Ethernet cable. I called the technical department to advise them she does not own a lap top and was basically told that was not their problem and in any event broadband and wifi were different services and they were not responsible for wifi speeds and people needed to ask the right questions before signing up. Bottom line was they would not do anything but would put me through to customer services who could arrange to compensate her as she was being charged from the 24th her start date even though she did not even receive her modem until the 29th. Held for customer services for almost 30 mins and then hung up. She is contacting another provider tomorrow! Can't give a star rating AVOID

Update (roughly 10 days after home phone and broadband installation) I'm still thrilled with my post office home phone and broadband deal....after all the hundreds of negative reviews on this site,I half expected SOME sort of failure to have occurred by now, once again (ASTONISHINGLY) all is completely fine and I'm very pleased that I signed up for this fantastically cheap deal:excellent call quality and more than adequate broadband ....no problems with my router or any outages etc etc....am I just lucky or have the Post Office started to correct some of the issues mentioned on here by other reviewers?

Not fit for purpose. For months I have complained of a speed close to 50kB. Totally unusable. The answer from them is, we can't find a problem. It is obvious to me that the line is being throttled, and they don't know the difference between bit or Byte.. Retired network engineer.

I am a single person who only has a mobile phone and an amazon fire stick to run on WiFi. I don't even own a laptop. This broadband won't even allow me to browse Facebook or bbc news without cutting out. It cuts out constantly and I have never had above one bad on my signal despite sitting nx to the router. I noticed this month that my contact is up and they have charged me £30 which they would have continued doing so if I had not noticed and they did not alert me to my contract expiring! I will me changing providers today (and reading reviews before doing so!)

If your thinking of going to post office for broadband DON'T! We've only been a month and we're going to cancel and go back to BT after constant phonecalls to them, being told lies from day one and really bad service from the off (not even getting 0.03 YES THAT'S 0.03 mbps)! Costs more but at least you get the service from bt!!! We have just contacted watchdog and be contacting post office customer services to get a full refund of all monies paid to them and compensation!!!

I dnt have words and the ones I have are not suitable for this forum. I applied for post office braodband connection on the 2nd of August and was told that someone from post office would be coming and my connection would be running in no time. I received an sms on the 15th telling me the name and contact number of enginer. waited till 16:00 and called helpline and was informed that the engineer did vsit my place and no one was home and the description given by engineer was no way near my place. anyways i was told someone else is going to visit me the same day and yes the next appointed engineer did turn up but we have a problem again. the pole from where the connection was to be taken was not tested by BT for safety so he couldnt climb it. Was told that some BT guy will come to sort it out. It took them another 2 days to come and when the line was connected no broadband service... I contacted postoffice helpline again and was told that a technical member of the team will visit me on the 24th of August to solve this problem. when I contacted helpline i was told that an engineer is scheduled to visit me on the 25th. now this morning i received another call from helpline saying that the engineer is scheduled for 13 of september. I asked then why was i given a date of 25th and there was no answer. so thought of availing this opportunity and requested that my connection request may please be cancelled and money refunded and Thank you very much for wasting my time. If installation process of this company is so poor, how bad would the service be??? Totally disappointed. I hope their refund policy is not as bad as their connection service because am going to take them to court for this even if i have to spend more than what i get back.

Given zero stars for all 4 categories.
Didn't expect great speed, but I can't even stream iplayer; often it doesn't provide any connection at all. It's been over a year trying to get some fix in place. All they do is send an Openreach engineer - they have no other option to offer. They outsourced customer service to a new group (Talk Talk) - no difference. I've made appointments & they haven't turned up. They've turned up when I hadn't made an appointment. Absolute joke.

Terrible customers service. My broadband failed an engineer attended and identified the a fault with the BT supply he was unable to fix it. For 3 months I had no broadband. PO failed to fix the issue so i left the service, they promised to compensation for 3 months of payments which I never received.

Hi, my partner signed us up to the Post Office b/b a month or so ago and since its gone live on 5 April we have had no bb each day - it constantly disconnects or drops to unusable speeds. I would like to move but we are tied into a 12 month contract with a service not fit for purpose (I am using my mobile data to tether and is almost used up!) Is there any deals we can do with BT to swap (someone said that BT will pay to move customers from other suppliers?) Thanks.

Awful service.... I went away for a month forgot about the £16 bill... all my information was passed on to a debt collection agency (totalled £32)
So now I have constant cold callers and random ppi companies telephoning me.

    THIS COMPANY IS A FARCE!
DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME/EFFORT.

Massively unsatisfactory service all around, from the customer service 'help' to the utterly diabolical connection.

I would much prefer old school dail up... I could sit through hours of the dail up tones if it meant I would never again have to deal with 'The post office'

Used the home move service for home phone and wished to add broadband at same time. Was then told incorrectly could not add this until 15 days had passed from 'going live' with the home phone. Very inconvenient for us as use internet used for lots of things that are very important. Made numerous calls to customer service staff who kept saying there was an internal error on the line whatever that meant. In the end last Sat the router arrived and guess what - it does not work, furious with the PO as was assured we could get broadband here, and we have been credited with an insufficient amount considering the stress this has caused. We have decided to go with another Provider on the advice of a PO team member who told us that the PO was not reliable or up to date with their equipment! Have been trying to ring them just now to get an address to complain but I just get 'cut off', cant wait to get rid of them their home phone was fine but they are now mixed in with Talk Talk and that just says it all. Avoid Post Office apart from buying stamps!

I switched to the landland and broadband package a little over a month ago. The landline deals are great as they offer international calls so its convienant to talk to my family back home. However the broadband is pathetic. I have never had such a slow connection, very sporatic and alot of the times it doesnt connect at all an so i have to turn off the box and rebute it. Its impossible to use my computer outside of the room in which the broadbad box is. I read the reviews and wasnt expecting a 4 star service but even a 1 star service would be welcome. I see now why the price is so competitive because of the disappointing reliablility of it is disgraceful. Lets hope it improves or i see them losing alot of customers.

Received this broadband and have had a long unsatisfactory journey with the post office. Started with not receiving our router until day 15(one day after the cooling off period had ended) then had a further wait before the router would even work. In the meantime we had received our first bill for a service and product we couldn't even use.
Following this within a week we had called them up complaining about how slow the broadband was. They suggest doing a speed test. Attempting to get the details to carry out the speed test was like pulling teeth. Then finally we are told we need a laptop and have to hardwire it in order to carry out the speed test. We have I phones. We don't need or require a laptop and so don't own one. What's more we genuinely don't know anyone who owns one. We were met with a bit of confusion here as to what we had to do next.
Following this we are met with the cold shoulder. We were hung up on twice when we attempted to tell them we wanted to leave the post office as the service was shoddy, unreliable and slow. The internet would switch of and on. The router would just do its own thing really. Then we are told that we would have to pay the full fee of over £200 in order to cancel our contract with them. We told them they hadn't delivered on their service and wouldn't be paying it. They have since contInued to follow on with their actions and have sent us letters asking for the full amount!!! They have got to be joking!!!!
DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER HE POST OFFICE!! USELESS UNRELIABLE AND SNEAKY

Appalling - don't even be tempted. I placed my order, they told me when the service would go live and then cancelled the order. When I called to sort this out I was told I had to wait another 2 weeks and there was nothing they could do. I then had to phone 3 times to get the voice mail service switched off, each time I was told it had been done. My broadband speed is at best appalling at worst unusable at 0.1 mbps
Everytime I ring customer services they tell me to send in screen shots of speed tests, ping tests and trace tests. Then there's some reason they can't accept them. The last lot I sent were going to be sent to BT openreach to investigate the fault - but they didn't send them in time so that I now have to spend a day performing tests again and send them again. Each time I send them something it's another week before they respond. .. I'm now 6 months into an 18 month contract and loosing the will to live. I couldn't even be bothered to be angry about it today!

Try using their Home Move service. I gave then 6 weeks notice. I then needed to change the engineer appointment and tried to contact them over 10 days ago. Despite repeated attempts I could not get through. I then sent them an email which was duly ignored
I finally got through today and they cannot send out an engineer till the 5th Sept. This is the day I start work in my new job - hopeless.
At the beginning of this year I was cut off for 3 weeks, a BT engineer had pulled my wire out of the exchange box. I have still have not had a refund.
