Vodafone Broadband deals for existing customers: upgrades & renewals

Vodafone broadband has some of the best value fibre optic deals around. But if you’ve come to the end of your contract, you might be wondering if there’s anything better, or whether it’s worth staying where you are. Find out all you need to know about Vodafone broadband deals for existing customers in this guide.

Vodafone Broadband existing customer deals: should you renew or upgrade?

Has your Vodafone broadband contract come to the end of its minimum term? The good news is you're now in a great position to get a new deal and save money.

But should you stay with Vodafone or switch to a new provider?

Our general advice for any broadband contract is that switching is almost always the best option. There are some amazing deals for new customers.

Here’s just a selection of the offers currently available:

You can also stay with Vodafone and renew your contract. This involves the least hassle as there's no change to your broadband service. But, you may not be able to save much compared to switching.

If you're thinking of renewing, it's worth checking out what upgrade deals Vodafone can offer you. However, switching broadband can often end up saving you more money.

As an existing customer, you might not be able to take advantage of any reward bundles offering vouchers and other extras, as those are for new customers. If you'd like to get a reward deal, you should consider switching providers instead.

Vodafone Broadband upgrade deals

When renewing your Vodafone service, a speed upgrade is a possibility.

If you currently have Vodafone Fibre 1 or Pro II Fibre 1 with an average download speed of 38Mb, there's a good chance you could move to Vodafone Fibre 2 or Pro II Fibre 2 (with an average speed of 67Mb).

If you're already a Fibre 2 customer, the upgrade options maybe a little more limited. Vodafone also offers gigabit broadband with average speeds up to 2.2Gb, but this might not be available to all properties. In many cases, Fibre 1 or Fibre 2 will be the best you can get.

FAQs about Vodafone deals for existing customers

  • What happens to my Vodafone contract when I renew or upgrade?

When renewing or upgrading Vodafone broadband, you'll be signing up to another 24-month contract. That means you're committed to paying for the service for that period of time. Early cancellation can be expensive. You shouldn't enter into any broadband contract if you know that you'll have to cancel before the minimum term's ended.

There's no change to the broadband itself if you renew. You’ll simply continue with the same service. This means no interruptions to service and no setup fees or other one-off costs. Upgrading may involve some disruption to the connection, but it should be brief.

  • Can I upgrade my Vodafone broadband?

Upgrading Vodafone is a possibility, but it depends on whether you currently have the fastest service available in your area. For Vodafone Fibre 1 or Fibre 2 users, the only speed upgrade would be Vodafone Full Fibre. Unfortunately, this is only an option for around half of UK properties right now. You can use our Vodafone Full Fibre checker to see what's available at your home address.

  • Can I get Vodafone in my area?

It's likely you can get Vodafone broadband. It's available to any home which can get Openreach network fibre optic broadband, and it's also available through CityFibre networks. Vodafone also offers very fast full fibre broadband if you're lucky enough to have an FTTP network in your area.

Use our postcode checker to find out what packages and speeds are available in your location.

  • How do I contact Vodafone?

Call Vodafone customer service on 0333 304 0191. If you'd like to either cancel or haggle for a new deal, then a phone call is usually the quickest way to get that done.

See our guide to Vodafone customer service for other ways to get in touch with Vodafone.

  • Will I get a new Wi-Fi router when I upgrade with Vodafone?

If your current hardware isn't suitable for a faster broadband speed, you may receive a new router. Otherwise, you'll probably be expected to stick with your old model.

If you're negotiating a contract renewal, it may be worth asking Vodafone to throw in a new router for free as part of the deal!

Expert Summary

You have a few different options once you're out of contract with Vodafone broadband. If you've been having problems with your internet speeds, you may want to use our Vodafone full fibre checker to find out if there are any faster packages you can upgrade to.

However, if your speed choices are maxing out with Vodafone Fibre 2 your only option may be to head to a smaller, independent 'altnet' or it's likely you may have more options with Virgin Media. If your home is hooked up to a full fibre network, you'll have more choice.

Getting on the phone with Vodafone gives you the best chance of haggling a new deal and re-negotiating your current plan if you're happy to stay put. However, be aware that when renewing a contract, you'll be committing to another 24-months. Vodafone's deals are on the lengthier side. If you don't want such a long agreement, compare these 1-year deals.
