AVOID AVOID AVOID! Just the worst company I have ever dealt with. I cancelled with talk talk over a year ago and the entire time since I have received bills of random amounts. After numerous telephone and online conversations with people who told me the account was cancelled they still sent me bills. The frustraion I have had with them over the last year is awful. We had the ombudsman involved and I finally believed I was free of them ! Until yesterday that was when apparently I owed a late payment fee of 10 pounds! This has come from nowhere and after arguing my case they have told me they have waived the charge! how nice of them! Ths over the last year has caused me sleepless nights as I have been in fear of being in debt to a company that I left but has continued to charge me, threatening me with debt collectors. It is people's lives they are playing with and such threats affect credit scores etc. They are a disgusting company with 0 customer service skills and seriously avoid them at all cost.

Moved from Sky super fast fibre after 12 month contract to talk talk fibre in December for 18 month contract. Worst decision I ever made. Paid for up to 75 Mbps with boost, over first month speed was vey slow but was still connected, Xbox kept dropping out as router was setting the nat to strict or moderate, when I rang for technical support they didn't have a clue what I was trying to explain to them. Eventually spoke to English customer service who arranged an engineer who turned up with a new router and said it's Open Reach's fault and added line could only support 13mbps.
Nonsense I'd been getting up to 35 Mbps with Sky weeks before.
Open Reach engineer came checked the lines said there was no problem and managed to check speed to 26 Mbps and told me that was as good as I would get and should expect 13mbps.
So why am I paying for up to 75 Mbps with boost.
I've since trained myself on how to reset the Nat type because there tech support is c#%p.
    Waste of money.
Currently getting 12 Mbps., so annoyed !

Avoid TalkTalk like the plague, what an absolutely terrible company to deal with! Not only was my connection constantly intermittent and the speed slow, but the customer service from their call centres is frankly disgusting! I have only been with them for 4 months and have moved over to Virgin Media now where I will be getting around 140mbps compared to 1.7mbps from TalkTalk! AVOID!

Talk Talk is the most appalling company I have ever had to deal with. So far they have cut off my phone and I had spend over one and half hours on my mobile with bad reception speaking to numerous people begging to pay them money so I could get reconnected! We are also moving and trying to move the phone to the new house has taken 3 days so far and counting......website doesn't work, you spend hours listening to holding music and if you do get to talk to someone they can't help or they can't understand you! All in all the worst company ever. Oh and by the way the broadband drops out at regular intervals and we can only have one person using it at a time!

I moved home and was told that service would come online on Oct 30, 2015. However it didn't, then was promised by the tech team will get resolved within a few days.. so was visited by an engineer.. and the service started after 4 days..
I was asked to be patient for a few days and so I did.. but the connection problem persisted.. Today, 16/11/2015, I finally decided to contact them to resolve this issue.. So I did and spoke to a customer service person, who said they would resolve it and would they would transfer me to the tech department.. so I waited but they transferred me to the billing dept who couldn't help and asked me to contact customer services again.. and so I did..
the second person began with offering a different service for which I would have to pay for a activation fee of £50, which I quite un real because I am facing the problem but I have to pay more to resolve the problem.. when I asked why I had to pay they said that the only way and that they could only do so much.. and when I said I didn't think it was fair they said that they would suggest a long winded process of testing by sending me a new router and that I would have to contact the tech department..
So I feel that I am being held at ransom, by these guys for a problem that's clearly at their end.. I feel absolutely helpless... because these customer service guys are not at all helpful..

Keep away. Had broadband installed in August. Put it up a pound in September. Got an all in sim for my phone in August and now they are changing the terms. No "all I can use data or phone calls" @It was a scam to entice people in. The broadband is slow and intermittent.

Been with Talk Talk for 6 weeks after leaving BT. Had no broadband every since, their customer services in Mumbai or wherever they are are shocking and advised that if they had to call an engineer to fix it they would charge me. I have left them and change to Plusnet soon but Talk Talk have sent me a laughable bill. I shall be sending my own invoice for loss of earnings due to lack of boardband.

Terrible. First of all, they compromised my account and bank details. I know this because I keep getting scam calls trying to steal my personal information - and they know my name, address and account number! TalkTalk's response was that no I couldn't leave my contract, and all they did was refer me to a free identify protection service which I couldn't use. Appalling.

Next, as the quality, it sucks! Okay, download (I'm on fibre) is reasonable, about 20-30 MBPS down, but only about 1-3 up. Fine. But the worst of it is that it constantly drops everything offline if any of my devices start to upload. Dropbox, Google photos, OneDrive all have the same effect. Called TalkTalk and they're clueless. I'm know enough and networks to know that It's because the upload bandwidth is so small that it quickly saturates and blocks any other devices communication hence the disconnect. Moving to BT next week. If I were you, give these idiots a wide berth, they're hopeless.

This is the worse company I've ever encountered. My YouView box had been playing up for a while and stopped recording completely five weeks ago, I booked a visit from an engineer but he failed to turn up. Since then I've been unable to get any sense from them. I tried to make a new appointment via the website but failed and I can't phone them for a number of reasons. THEY have left two voice messages on my phone but the signal is so bad that I can only understand one word in every ten.
Now my broadband connection is playing up too, it's gone off more than 60 times already today and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will actually stay on long enough for me to post this.
I can't leave because my contract still has 10 months to run and I've been informed that if I leave early I will be charged more than £300 for the privilege, so it looks a though I'm stuck with this lousy company until May 2017.
I wish that I'd never heard of ****** TalkTalk, I've given them one star because I couldn't post unless I gave a star rating, but if I could I wouldn't give them any stars at all, on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give them MINUS 100. They are absolute rubbish and I would advise anyone thinking of signing up with them to think again and give them a VERY wide berth indeed.
(I have a lot of other complaints with them, but if I listed them all I'd be on this page all night)

It's so amazing to say looking to opt for a cheap deal rather than reliability is what got the best of me. Where do I begin, looking at the connectivity light on the router and having my fingers crossed hoping it was working or calling the customer service and being given a series of tasks to do. Like turn off the router, check your telephone line and countless sending over the repairs team. All in vain. At one point I felt like they were turning it ON and OFF like the flick of a switch.
    Never again!!!

Having been with Talk Talk for quite a few years with no problems I was happy with the service I was receiving. The broadband worked and the billing was fine. People had warned me however to be careful with them because when it goes wrong, it goes very wrong. I smugly didn't believe them as I was paying a pound less than them for a working service.

All I can say is when it does go wrong it goes about as wrong as I have ever seen anything go.

Basically my broadband kept cutting out.

The call centre staff in India or wherever aren't native English speakers and every time you call in you have to explain everything from the beginning again. This gets pretty frustrating.
They sneak things onto your bill, my last bill was for £148.00 for just the broadband.
They've been trying to resolve my fault now for nearly 9 months, they fix it every third day and then it breaks again the day after, starting the process again.

I've dealt with some pretty incompetent companies in my time but Talk Talk take it to a new level.

If you are with them I would suggest swap them as soon as you can, don't suffer my pain when it goes wrong. It will !

If you are thinking of using them as your provider, just don't. They really are shockingly bad.

No idea how broadband speed is because I had to cancel from the offset!!
re-arranged schedule to wait in for a setup engineer. All welcome email arrived & no contact at all to say there was a problem- then see in account their system rejected my order- for no reason, without prior info!!! Grr
The chat BOT can’t explain why- I stay on crsp-chat over 1/2 hour, then complaint BOT anotger 1/2 hour- still no reasonable explanation or suitable apology or solution.
Cancelled immediately- bad customer service from the start can only be a bad sign fir future service.
Bad bad experience- Total waste of my time & energy

Honestly, the fact that I'm actually writing a review speaks volumes. This isn't something I would ever normally do, but the actual shambles that is TalkTalk has led me here. It's probably the worst company I have ever seen in any field. Having an awful product is one thing, but having an even more awful customer service that refuses to give any assistance in fixing the awful product is something that I will not accept. This company is nothing short of a disgrace in every single department. Would give them negative stars if possible. Will honestly tell as many people as possible to stay away, as I genuinely feel as if we have been robbed by this company for years providing a product that was not even remotely close to the quality advertised and that exhibits an outright refusal to improve it's quality when asked. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHAMBOLIC COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

The customer service can give even the most placid person anger problems. Oh and also, totally hopeless and they take your money for services not provided.

0 STARS! Please do not go with this company! This WILL be your worst experience in opting to go for a broadband package with this company, believe me!
Where do I start..? WiFi disconnects during the day and every evening from 9-10pm till 3am latest! Yes every night! Having to “online chat” to so called “customer service” due to telephone calls not resolving the issue or miss lead communication frustrates you enough only to be told several times it’s due to technical issues yet they say they can see “great” WiFi connection. How on earth does that make sense when your red WiFi light is on indicating no WiFi is beyond me! Customer service team have no customer service skills at all! They don’t know their head from there back side! Simple! Talk talk raves about “Loyal customers GUARANTEED prices! Oh my god, do not be fooled by this via verbal or written communication this is not true and should be stopped! My bill has veried from... £18 to £19 to £41 yes £41 to now £26. NO EXPLANATION so it has now promted me after OVER 4 years of being with this bad company leading to believe I was a so called loyal customer to end all ties with this company! I know it’ll be the best decision to move to a better provider at a lower cost however I genuinely feel for other people who wish to opt in to this company but do so at your own risk! Bad WiFi, penny pinchers, no customer service support, unrealistic and misleading to get you to join their contracted scam!

Was with Sky but not happy with their Service. Had no idea how bad things could be until I moved to TalkTalk. Poor access, no E Mail now for two days and on the odd occasion that I can make contact, am entirely unable to understand what is said.

I wished there was an option to give 0 stars!
I signed up to TalkTalk in October 2015 (phone, broadband & tv package). On connection we found our broadband speeds were very low (1.5mb) so I called TalkTalk (overseas call centre) on two occasions to upgrade to fibre broadband. I was assured that I could get fibre broadband and was promised on both occasions that someone would call me back to complete the upgrade but no one did. On my third call I was told that I could not get fibre in my location. I informed them that I was not happy and that I wanted to cancel as I was still within their cancellation period. Their advisor suggested I speak to their engineering team to see if they could improve the broadband speed and foolishly I agreed to give them the opportunity to put things right. I was promised a call back but yet again it never materialised. I called again the following day to cancel, only to be told that I was now out of their cancellation period and so there would be a charge. I was then transferred between several advisors and continually put on hold. Eventually I was put through to someone in their UK centre who was generally rude and arrogant. In total I was kept on the phone for over 1 hour, after which I was left feeling extremely angry and frustrated with my whole TalkTalk experience. I then signed up to BT but to make matters worse, TalkTalk then disconnected my services a week early leaving me with no phone and broadband and they even refused my transfer saying that I had given them my wrong post code! Fortunately BT sorted things out for me. I would not use TalkTalk if they offered to provide their services free of charge and would strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs!

So. The horror story with Talktalk

I've been a customer of theirs now for a few years. So my contract ran out september 2014 and much to my pleasure I rang up March of this year to cancel because I was moving house.

They weren't having any of it. So they said it was cancelled and theyd call me back but didn't. I figured i was done with them. Had my last bill through of £60 and paid it with no worry. Next month another bill was debited from my account. So I rang up and Apparantly it hadn't been cancelled at all. So I did it again and the man I spoke to said it had been cancelled. No more bills hooray!
.Next month another bill. Was not happy. So I rang again and they said it hadn't been done still! So I put the request in again!

Now to my last birthday. An email came through and now I owed them £120 !!!!

So I rang them on my birthday. Was on the phone for 45 minutes where they just cut me off. So I repeated this process for the same amount of the time. All the security questions again. The man I spoke to went through all the past phone recordings and said it should be cancelled. So all the money I had paid would be credited to me (because my mobile is with them also) and I wouldn't have a bill for months.

Anyway that night I got a bill through for £70 extra for the calls to them to sort out their mess, which was taken from me the next day before I could sort it. No credit nothing.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Edit. Still trying to get out of paying for my mobile now. I've cancelled the direct debit so they will not be getting any money out of me ever again.

Absolutely shocking Wi-Fi speeds, drops out every few days for hours on end, customer helpline is useless when they actually decide to pick up
You would genuinely get better internet sticking an Ethernet cable into a pile of manure

Dreadful. Customer service practically non existent. Broadband keeps dropping out. I've had faster dial up speeds. When you complain, they never ring back, they always expect customer to chase them and go through the 'press button 1' routine over and over and always take a long time to put you through. I asked why I can't get a call from them and was told they have too many customers with complaints to call back! Don't know why they don't do better, people have been complaining for donkeys years about this, yet still can't improve and don't seem to care about bad publicity. Avoid at all costs. Get something decent if you can, though I think there's not much to choose from. Telecomms companies seem unable to provide a proper service or to communicate.

Well the 24 hour customer support free from your landline is a god send.
Sadly a god send because with Talk Talk you're going to need it...
I have them on speed dial now. I've had to call that many times I've lost count.
And when I complain about how rubbish they are, I get urged to invest more money into fiber-optic broadband. Oh i will get it one day, but never with TalkTalk. Also make a note of your phone calls because they don't - and you'll have to explain EVERYTHING to EVERY adviser you speak to.
Cheap price for a cheap service. My mistake - won't happen again.

After having been with Tiscali/TalkTalk for a long time(more fool me),have finally decided enough is enough, after countless conversations with customer service reps, about speed issues issues(advice keep rebooting router and so on etc),email not working and so on.I now have to pay a lot of termination fees to get rid of this'internet provider'but would rather do that just to get away from them.My advice steer well clear of this company.
