    Talk talk is the most unreliable company I have had the misfortune of encountering. Our internet has never worked well, and lately it just cuts out completely. Along with this the house phone has had issues aswell. I contacted them and after a few apparent checks over the phone they decided too come out. Firstly, they charge £65 for this. I think this is ridiculous as it is there service not working. I booked some time off work anyway and waited for the engineer too turn up. After a day of waiting I contacted them and was informed he was too busy too come out. You would think a courtesy call would be offered too tell me of this. Another one was arranged and I was told that nothing is wrong with my connection! It obviously is as I can't even play a YouTube video now. I put in a complaint the day the first engineer turned up which was about 2 and a half weeks ago, and I still have not had a reply too a complaint. I constantly get told that they are very sorry and a complaints manager will get back too me but it never happens. I still have not had a reply. Ask yourself, if a company cannot even process a complaint can you have any faith in them? I am now cancelling and going with another provider, but I can only imagine how long it will take too cancel my account.

    Worst company ever. They constantly give me problems and this month they stole money from my bank account even after i told them not too they went ahead and did it anyway and my bill of £21 i paid and they took £54 out of my bank for no reason at all and when i complained they offered me £17 for the hassle which is just about half of what they stolr from me in the first place and although they had no problem stealing money from my bank in a day apparaently i would have to wait for an age to get my own money back off them or they said generously they could just keep the money and credit it to my account even though thry stole it and i needed it for other bills and it screwed me right up apparantly giving me a credit of half and adding what they took against my will to my account is enough to close my complaint and everything is hunky dory. Well i have told everyone i know to stay well away from them and i will tell everyone else that will listen to stay away from them and their theft of my money will cost them dearly in the future. I am closing my account with them and going to another provider that does not steal money from apparant valued customers.

    I am totally disappointed with your broadband I have got to re connected every time I want to use my phone My broadband is rubbish Why should I upgrade just to please you I think I pay enough to have continuous WiFi But Don’t worry I will not be staying with you Lots of good comparison sites to choose from Why not Keep your long standing customers & look after them as any reputable company would do Unhappy customer Richard Gidlow

    Recently moved out . Fortunately Talk talk don’t provide service at new address. Landline stopped working when moved to talk talk. They said they hadn’t changed it. First person spoke too helpful, promised certain things & not happened . Since then every time I’ve rung they said they can’t help as I failed security on email address I gave them. Yet I had received an email from them to the address I gave only 15 mins previously. They really are the WORST company to deal with. No issues dealt with satisfactorily all time I’ve been with them. They are the worst. Do not touch Talk Talk with a barge pole. Over priced and appealing service.

    Customer service is a joke. Operators show total lack of interest and you get passed around from one to another without your problem ever being resolved.
    On the phone, if you select the option that you want to cancel your account you get put on hold indefinitely - They are so desperate to keep customers!. If you go on line to cancel your account using 'Contact Us' on the TalkTalk web page your request wont be registered and you'll still be being billed months later!
    Honestly, my advice is avoid this (dis)organisation! There are much better providers!

    the worst broadband company ever. if i could give 0 stars i would. Moved house and for the first 3/4 months i had no wifi because the engineer didnt connect the wires properly. Finally sorted the issue after several phone calls and months of waiting. To then be given a dodgy wifi box which disconnects / cuts off anytime i move the box or touch it. I have phoned talktalk for months and done several tests over and over again and the problem still hasnt been solved. Asked could i cancel my plan and they said yes but i will have to pay a cancellation fee of £70 when they've had enough money off me. absolute joke. DO NOT JOIN!!!

    Awful service, worst internet we have ever had! Extremely slow, can't watch anything like Netflix because it is so slow and the connection drops a lot of the time! Phones customer service and tried to explain but they were not interested, just told us to unplug the box and plug it back in every time it goes down!!!! I'm sorry but we are paying for a good service and we are not getting that what so ever and how does unplugging it help with the speed?!?! Stuck with them for another 6 months, but as soon as that is up we are going somewhere else and never returning to them! I am also making sure that everyone I know and everyone they know, knows what an awful service they provide!!!

    I used to be a talk talk customer. It was all ok at the first place. I had the download speed of 36 when I first got the deal and after some time it dropped down as low as 1-9. I made several phone calls but nothing had been done or sorted. This went on about 7-8 months and I decided to change my provider. I switched to sky and I m now paying 3 times more than I used to pay to talk talk, but I m now very happy with the connection and all of the other services. Not only this, I still keep receiving bills from talktalk despite I left them about 3 months ago because I have been told that I don’t have to do anything because my new provider was going to do everything on my behalf. I receive mails with my bills inside(bills of something that I haven’t even been able to use) and I can’t even reply to those mails as it doesn’t allow me to do so. You can’t even talk or connect anyone if u want to cancel something but instead if u want to buy or upgrade , they are very prompt to answer and talk to you.
    I don’t even understand why this company is called TalkTalk, when they can’t even talk to anyone. Funny and ridiculous.
    People, you better pay a bit more and get no hassle. Stay away from this TalkTalk ****.

    Speed really bad and inconsistent, customer service even worse, not worth the hassle you get nothing but stress with talk talk, think twice about joining them, I myself will be changing after christmas as had enough of them now.

    Far and away the worst company I've ever had to deal with.

    I'm an existing customer who made the upgrade from standard broadband to fiber. My live date

    was June 8th at which point they disconnected my old service and told me the new one was live.

    It wasnt. I was getting a specific error message which I'll paste to help anyone else searching

    for the same problem :

    The Agent Remote ID presented by the DSLAM is incorrect

    Its now been ten days and I'm still not connected nor will they give me a definite answer on

    when or even if it's going to be looked at.

    The phone "help" desk are pathetic. All they do is tell you to turn off the router for 30

    minutes then it'll be sorted. They know this isnt the case. It just gets you off the phone and

    when you ring back it's someone else's problem. If you do get to a supervisor you get the

    deluxe package "ring back in 72 hours" during which they will again do nothing. Ring back and

    you're at square one where if you're lucky you'll get 20 minutes or so on hold before being

    disconnected.

    Their twitter is slightly better but all you get are apologies and "it's being investigated"

    replies. I've been getting told this for six days now.

    The error I'm getting isnt a hardware or line problem. It's apparently "down to an

    authentication mismatch on the broadband, between TalkTalk & BT Openreach". So somewhere the

    wrong info is on a database.

    They just dont seem to care. Go to their website and the "community" section for more horror

    stories of people waiting over a month for this to be resolved.

    They may be amazing if everything goes to plan but trust me, if there's a problem they are

    beyond useless and the fact you're paying for a service they arent delivering doesnt seem to

    matter. They have your money, you can wait.

    Do not sign up to talk talk under any circumstances, I’ve been with talk talk twice now, the first time I had very poor broadband speeds and they put the price up mid contract so I left. A few years had passed so I decided to try them again as they were offering a good deal, this was a bad mistake. My broadband speed was below 1MB, arranging repairs was extremely frustrating and time consuming due to the long call waiting times and the call handlers had extremely strong overseas accents so I struggled to understand me and so did they. I arranged a BT open reach engineer and talk talk miss booked the time then tried to charge me a missed appointment time. I opened a complaint and this was handled very inadequately. My broadband was eventually put back online but it continued to disconnect, I tried the online chat as an alternative but this was useless as the time waiting for a reply to each message was about 5 minutes. I finally got through via phone call and explained that it had been more than 28 days since I reported the problem and they had not resolved it so I could leave my contract penalty free, talk talk did not see it like that, the employee said that an engineer needs to come out, when I explained that one had come the previous week he said I was wrong and no one had been out. At this point I was wasting hours on the phone and waiting for my devices to load on the sub 1mb speeds so I ended up paying a penalty to leave as I was so fed up. Defiantly the worst company I have ever dealt with and I will do my best to spread the word of my very bad experience. Talktalk you should be ashamed of yourselves.

    Wish I could give a negative rating, as this is the worse company I've ever dealt with.
    I've done a basic broadband and TV contract and cancelled the next day after it has gone live. Stupidly, I've paid my line rental in advance. Since then, I've talked to many many different people on the costumer Service and all made promises to solve my problem and refund me and it hasn't happen. All avisors tel me one thing and then do nothing to solve the problem. I've been lied since the beginning to sign the contract (as I was told I could upgrade to fibre broadband if internet speed was not good enough and when I tried to do so i was told I couldn't do it as fibre was not available in my area!!!) and now am being lied over and over again.
    Wish i had the money to hire a solicitor or a lawyer to sue this awful company, but I can't because TalkTalk is stealing my money!
    I wish I had read all this reviews before signing the contract, because I would definitely not do it if I knew what kind of company this is.
    Will never ever use TalkTalk again and will talk about my bad experience to as many people as possible so they are alerted to the deceitful cmpany talktalk is.

    Worst customer service I have dealt with an absolute joke company , I have many houses with internet provided , and even virgin are better than this joke provider , if you have to use openreach and overhead cables go for Vodafone , so much better , I’d put 0 on all counts if possible ,,AVOID

    Awful! Staff do not understand English and are bad trained. I had so many problems with them. I would not recommnend this service or any service with Talk Talkk. They are cheap and useless.

    I'll be short and trying to be sweet, (hard to be). The worst experience I had with a broadband provider it's Talk Talk, there were days without a service, not to mention the speed, days which they should have discounted from the bill, but never did, you pay a month in advance, if your contract finished on a day before the new bill, they still charge you for the next month...so, to cut the long story short, my experience with this company has been a nightmare, I would never recommend Talk Talk to anyone, not even to my worst enemy, stay away from it if you can. enough said

    Absolutely ridiculous! I'm currently paying almost £30 pm for what's supposedly suppose to be up to 17mbps internet when i'm only getting 4mbps. Have phoned customer services countless times and I always end up speaking with someone with a foreign accent that I cannot understand and will not listen to a word I say or answer my questions! Do NOT go with this company, i'm switching to a different company, i'm 100% finished with talktalk! Money grabbers!!

    Disgusted with the latest trick, after being charged for a years line rental I called to ask they change it to monthly and refund me the difference. Being told this would take 28 days to issue a cheque I simply cancelled my order. Was then told I would have a refund to my account within 5 working days. Calling 9 working days later I was informed the refund had NEVER been processed and she would do it now and it would take 5-10 working days!! So had I not called to chase this talk talk would have been 170 quid up for providing absolutely no service whatsoever!!!

    I cancelled my TalkTalk contract after a price increase, which I could do so with no early exit fee. Since I have cancelled I have had nothing but hassle. They have tried to charge me for everything. I have now taken a case against them with the Ombudsman Services. Please do not take out a contract they are an appalling company with appalling customer service.

    If I could give no stars I would. I spent more time on the phone asking for help than I did receiving any broadband service!! 'Customer service' was the opposite of its title!! Just before I reached the end of my tether with the complete lack of service, I had no broadband for about 3 weeks. I was having to connect to my neighbour's wifi 2 doors down and when I told the moron on the phone, his attitude was that I had access to the internet so what was the problem!! When I wouldn't back down he also tried to charge me for a technician to come round, when all I needed was a new hub!! In the end I gave up and went back to BT. When I argued about paying for the most recent period of time where I had no service, they just ignored me and kept chasing me for the money I didn't even owe. They actually sent it to debt collectors in the end so I just gave up and paid it.
    I have never before or since experienced a company with such rude, unprofessional, ignorant employees who possess a complete lack of integrity and moral code!!!
    Still angry. Don't use Talk Talk. Use ANYBODY ELSE!!

    We have had numerous problems with our router which talk talk refuses to acknowledge. Low speeds, cutting in and out, and finally breaking completely. Every time we ring talk talk tell us to "wait a few days and if it still isn't working call back" we moved house and even got an engineer round who told us that our router was broken and he would leave it in his notes. After ringing talk talk again, they still didn't believe us until I basically had to shout at them and tell them we cannot work from home without the internet. Then and only then did the lady on the other end tell us a new router would be deliverer in 2 days. It's been two nearly two weeks. Disgusting.

    Having spent months paying £50 plus a month for a basic phone and broadband service after our contract lapsed,we opted to change provider. An order was raised and a switchover date agreed - 3 days before, the order was mysteriously cancelled by a 3rd party unknown. A second order was duly raised with the new provider with an inevitable delay - the day before the agreed switchover date the order was once again mysteriously cancelled, with accompanying emails from Talk Talk stating how glad they were that we were staying. Investigation by the new provider showed that it was TalkTalk themselves who had cancelled both switchovers without authorisation - so a third order was instituted, this time as a house move to avoid 3rd party interference, meaning a change of phone number we didn't want. In the meantime with all the delay, our broadband stopped working then our phone. Thinking we were still with Talk Talk I logged a fault call only to be told the contract has been terminated and would need to be reactivated via, guess what, a new order. Our go live date with the new provider is 12th August and we will have been without broadband or phone for 3 weeks plus. That date can't be come too soon and the service will be a third of the price. My advice is avoid Talk Talk like the plague. They play dirty, won't let you leave and there is no way of escalating a complaint or reporting their illegal tactics. The independent mediator isn't interested until you've spent 8 weeks trying to resolve the problem. Life's too short and Talk Talk have effectively got away with it. We won't touch them with a barge pole again and strongly advise others not to either. Once you're in they wont let you out.

    Joke company. The most unreliable wifi in the UK. Wifi disconnects several times every single day for a while. Do not trust them. They are unhelpful and arroguant! Stay away from them.

    Had to phone the company last Monday and last night because of the broadband cutting out and my partner neede it for work.Unfortunately I rang a very sarcastic young lady at about 7 last night -I was told on the first Monday that I would not have to carry out the internal line test again however I was told I had to 'do it again' sarcastically by last nights telephonist and again in the same tone of voice she told me -'Make sure your in when the engineer calls right!'after I told her that we work till 5 every day .I could not believe her attitude -she was so impatient and rude . I unfortunately am in an 18 month contract with Talk Talk but if there is anyway I can get out of it I will.

    At first the connection speed was pretty good, sitting at 30Mb/s quite comfortably...as of today it is running at 3Mb/s...get your act together and fix your broadband services!
    NOTE: I am on Fibre not a copper connection.

    Terrible customer service, and completely unable to meet their promised download speed.
    Over past 7 months I have had numerous visits by their Bright Sparks engineers and Open Reach Engineers, all to no avail. Today their complaints manager advised that achieving 30% reduction in speed was acceptable!! What a load of rubbish! I've had enough and will be leaving them as they cannot meet the contract spec. Suggest you avoid this company. Customer service is also not a pleasant experience.

    AVOID!! AVOID !! AVOID !! If you are even contemplating talk talk for a cheaper deal dont you will pay more in every way !!! I was a Sky customer and they were great.I left because we needed to save money and Talk Talk came up the cheapest.Well what a bad move. I signed up for a set deal and after a month got a ridiculous bill stating that that deal was old and was on a new plan how can this be when i have the paper work.They would not honour it and set me up on a new plan which was better it was a little more but was told for 12 months instead of 18 so would be out earlier. I have had numerous issues with internet speed my remote going funny then the tv box not working (ps the tv box is rubbish if you want to pull you hair out all the time as its so slow and does what it want always fails recording and works two steps behind what you ask great !)I had a fault remote volume wouldn't work and it was 2 months old they said for a new one it would be £6 but i told them it was not my fault and i would send it to them to look at, after a long battle they said it would be free so along comes the next bill tad-ahh it was charged i called and furiously kicked off and they returned it.Then the tv box wasn't responding i was told if it was my fault it would be £120 but if it was there's it would be free they would be there on a day no specific time just 8 -6 and i have to be in if i wasn't in they would charge me £60. Guess what they came at 715 as we were having dinner and low and behold the box was broken !! So when i enquired about when i can cancel they said not for 14 months as i had signed up for a 18month contract. I was told one thing by the guy on the phone and given another deal when it came to light i didn't check the paper work as i thought the phone calls were recorded apparently they are not when your need to retrace your steps !!! They wont help on the phone and keep saying go to our website and log in to your account to change what you want always avoiding helping you.I even had technical help me once with the internet and they asked me to unplug my line to see if that was as fault when i was on the line ?!?!?! DONT use talk talk ever go with Virgin BT or Sky a little more or about even in my case but the customer service and professionalism is far better. Also i got a half price movie offer before Christmas and i they have a new one out now i tried to use it but because i have used that offer once they can not give it to me ever again only to new customers total bull (Movies channel is through internet and picture quality is grainy)!!!

    When my contract ends i will leave and will never return and if you are

    DONT !! I read bad reviews before i joined thinking it cant be all that, its plain as black and white and now im sat here writing a review that i should have taken in before i joined silly silly me and hopefully not you !!!

    Absolutely appalling. Broadband might be ok but as a company they are the worst. Customer service have no clue, the company takes money when they shouldn't and add charges to your account without reason. I would stay away from these at all costs.

    Ok, so I posted a honest review yesterday of the utterly abysmal and unbelievably terrible service that I have received from TalkTalk over the passed 11 months... I am within my final days of their terrible grasp and will feel a sense of relief when my broadband and line provider is finally switched.

    After posting my original review yesterday I received a response from a TalkTalk employee claiming that TalkTalk are very sorry that I have had such a bad experience with the firm and that it is not the companies intention to provide such an unacceptable and unprofessional level of customer service.
    The reply then continued to recommend that I contact one of the TalkTalk team via “Twitter" of all things!!...
    The assumption that I would have a “Twitter" account is in itself presumptuous and then for TalkTalk to expect me to chase them up regarding a poor service which they delivered to me and I paid for is beyond ludicrous!!

    TalkTalk should be going out of THEIR way to contact its ever growing list of wronged and abused customers, they should be the one to make things right and they should be the one looking to improve their service.

    This is blatantly not the case as within the 24 hours since posting my initial review, numerous other TalkTalk customers have posted similar reviews to mine stating that they too have received poor customer care and broadband service and are very unhappy with the firm in general.

    The lack of customer care and consumer satisfaction that TalkTalk continue to provide shows no remorse or intention to better their service and judging from other reviews that go back several years, TalkTalk have never been expected to provide their customers with a viable service or a shred of human dignity.

    I once again strongly implore all members of the public to avoid dealing with this firm. They are not providers they are takers.

    If they cannot offer better than a generic response to contact their “Twitter" staff after repeatedly mistreating and effectively robbing their customers, then they have no place operating as a consumer business and deserve a thorough investigation from an independent regulator.

    My suggestion to those who have been left slightly poorer and slightly more dehumanised by the thoughtless and greed-driven actions of TalkTalk and any other corporate firm for that matter, is to contact a regulator such as Ofcom and notify them of the service (or lack of) that you have been given.
    This is possibly one of the most effective ways to have underperforming firms investigated and made to improve their services to meet the quality and standards that are initially promised to customers and that everyone should expect.

    I will be surprised if TalkTalk respond to this review with anything that would genuinely resolve the issue however if any attempt is made by the firm to better this situation then I will update my post.

    This is an amateur farce of a provider. I was with them a year and the service was intermittent and totally unreliable. Call centres are all abroad, South Africa and manilla. You'll wait up to an hour to get through and when you do the help given is useless. They'll try and sell you something

    I signed up for fibre broadband with TalkTalk recently. It was due to go live 2 weeks ago and so far I have just a useless router in my home and no service. I have spoken to talk talk almost daily during this time. I have had 4 visits from BT openreach engineers all of who told me that the problem was with Talktalk and nto wiht the network. I have been provided with no information from talktalk. I have never been called back when promised. They still appear to have no idea when the service will go live. I have spent several hours of my time in fruitless discussion with talktalk staff. The incompetnce of this company is mindboggling! I will never use them again. I would wanr others away from them too.
