Having told sky it was vital to have my number ported from previous supplier as I'm self employed. They cocked it up and did not do this gave me a new number. After conversations with one person who did try to help me my number was lost and not retrievable. I explained the impact and financial loss and the possible loss of new business and all I got was a sorry. No compensation. Rubbish.

Sky set up our new internet today. The so called engineer said it's all live and up and running. I checked immediately and it wasn't connected to the internet. Sky customer services say the whole area is down!!!! We no because my neighbors internet isn't down.

So basically if your considering using sky remember you will have to wait a months for installation and then another month for the original installation to be fixed, and every time you call customer services they will say it's an area issue weather it is or isn't.

So I will be cancelling immediately and using another internet provider.

This is by far the worst internet and cable tv provider I have ever had the misfortune of using in the last 8 years. Our internet stops working on average once every two weeks, it then takes them 2-3 days to come round and determine the fault is not with our system (it NEVER is) and then a further 4-5 days to get the fault fixed (someone unplugging a connection somewhere in the street). It is beyond annoying and completely useless. As soon as we have time to research a better provider, we are switching. Oh wait - can't do that either, since the internet is down again.

There are so many negative reviews about Sky here that it is easy to jump to conclusion that their service is total crap is not worth trying. But then you should bear in mind that most people care to leave a review only when their experience is negative. Luckily I had a friend who had Sky broadband and she was quite happy with them. Since I had a very negative experience with Virgin Media and Sky at the moment was willing to give a generous discount I decided to give it a try and I don't regret it. My average download speed is 12 Mbps and is quite reliable. The only minus I can think of is that it takes a long time to get through their support if you need something but I can live with that. All in all I guess it's a lottery and depends on your location: you might get unreliable connection and poor speed or things might be quite good as they are in my case.

Just ended my 12 month contract with sky,Internet throughout has been unreliable, continual disconnections and at peak times so slow it's unusable. Have now returned to BT , personally I will never use sky again, terrible service, never resolved problems despite numerous calls to customer service.

Transfered my tv, broadband and telephone from EE to Sky only to have no broadband 2 days after my due date. I called them ever day and was given promises that they would have it working by yhe end of the working day. After 10 days of this (in which i had paid my first bill) i recieved an email to say they have cancelled my order and expect me to place a new order and pay the £10 installation fee again. Don't switch to sky, they offer nothing but empty promises and then try to make you pay double.

Pretty rubbish really, the connections are unreliable, even those on fibre, there connection is not reliable, as soon as Openreach play with the junction box, then we have problems for weeks on end, then Openreqach come out again, fix the problem and everything settles until the next time. The providers are not interested, all they are interested in is stealing as much money as possible from their customers. In effect, Broadband should be considerably cheaper than what it is, it is only because of the greed of Openreach and BT in general, that we have to pay extortionate rental costs. The sooner the government stops BT and Openreach having a monopoly the better.

I’ve tried 3 times to get broadband with Sky. Despite receiving a text to say “great news, your broadband will be connected today by midnight”, I’ve had to call the next day to say it’s not connected then someone telling me I can play a new order in 48 hours and it will hopefully be connected one week after I place the order. Why are they not rectifying the issues? Why keep going in circles. Avoid at all costs!!

Why oh why didn't we read the reviews. Cannot wait till contract ends, then we are steering clear forever. They advertise 56mbps. When you sign up, they say it's more likely to be 30-45mbps. What you actually get is around 10-12mbps. (And that's the best speed when you first join). It drops until you have appalling speeds that the older broadband from 1990 could surpass. (We're talking Kbps)! And don't think complaining helps. You are doomed if you make the mistake of believing you will be one of those lucky ones who can actually watch YouTube or a movie without buffering at 5 minutes in!!!!!!!

The worst network I have ever been on constantly down, connection strong enough for a phone and half the time not even that. Consoles are unplayable, PCs are unusable. The absolute worst of the worst, nothing compared to the speeds others get in the area on different network. Avoid like the plague, has caused endless grief and hassle since day one.

The only time sky want to talk to you is when they are trying to sell something to add on to your package. As soon as you say your uninterested they just hang up and aren’t bothered about anything else you want to say.

Currently with Sky broadband and I have to admit I've had no problems with them. Currently get 38mbps even on Wi-Fi, only reason for leaving is I can get the broadband and line rental for a lot less (could be a big mistake in the end) but worth a try.

Please remember when these companies say Fibre they actually mean Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) and not directly to the property. From the cabinet to the property it's still copper.

We shall be leaving Sky with their unreliable, useless internet

We had to have a new hub due to lightening and they sent the Q Hub and what a load of rubbish it is. The range is appalling and the signal drops all the time. Hub is downstairs and if I go upstairs my phone struggles then starts using 4g. I'm going through data like water. I had trouble with the last one having bad range, but at least speed was consistent.

I call them to be told it has a range of 100 metres, yeah right! Then told its environmental and probably due to being near another electrical item. I move it upstairs to a room with nothing else electrical, no change at all. My phone finds lots of wifi connections in my street, most of them BT, but can't find mine 10 metres away. Sky tell me that though it finds them, they wouldn't connect. They talk the most ridiculous drivel, at least it picks it up from a house 30 metres away unlike the Sky one 2 rooms away!

They then say it's slow and drops out cause of the channel, so I change it, numerous times, no change. They then tried to say its my device, but I have not had a problem with both Virgin and Talk Talk at my mothers and brothers homes.

We can't watch videos for the constant buffering. My daughter plays games is is always hollering it for running slow. I will be calling them tomorrow to cancel my contract. I've never paid so much money for such rubbish.

somehow sky broadband is slower than pre 2000's dial up. I have to wait over an hour for an online chat with them to make a complaint, not even surprised because they are probably using sky broadband aswell. I am supposed to have 30mbs but barely reach 5 on a good day. WASTE OF MONEY

Awful, avoid! The connection drops several times a day and they cannot fix it (they didn't even want to investigate it properly). The price does not justify the service although I was told by their representative that I had been 'privileged' to pay 'as little' as almost £20 p/m (!) When I heard that I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry... Seriously Sky have some faith in the IQ of your customers. You are not alone on the market. Do some research and compare your prices as well as the reviews you are getting. I've made my decision. Switch to another provider has just been done.

Fast when it works, annoying when it doesn't. Customer service is an utter joke - one that isn't funny. Long waits, horrible distorted music that hurts your ears, useless service when you finally do get through.
It's pointless sharing your info with them - they'll ask you the same questions over and over anyway. If you have more than one brain cell and know what the problem with your connection is anyway you're better off committing suicide rather than watch these inept morons visit you three times and ignore what you're telling them.
1.3 billion pounds profit a year, and they can't get the simplest things right. Avoid like the plague, no matter how cheap you think they are.

For a couple of days now I have been trying to push them for a refund of a balance in credit after cancelling their services. There are only 2 contact options available: fb messenger and a phone number. WAITING TIME ON FB : 70 minutes!!!!!!!!! When trying to call them, I am constantly getting a message about the staff being in training and the waiting time over 30 min!!! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXSIST!

Ive been with Sky for 10.5yrs signed up for the full package - Sports, Movies, HD , extra box upstairs etc etc.

The internet speed is laughable, for the last 6 months at best I was getting 2MB/sec download and 0.4 upload. If you try to ask them (if you can get thru) to sort it out they expect you to dismantle the BT box in the hallway, move your router there and connect it to a hidden point behind the plate then waffle away telling you exchange this exchange that, buy a new filter, its Open Reach at fault, you too far away from the exchange, more waffle about the exchange etc etc etc.

    Virgin are coming this Saturday

    Goodbye Sky

Took me two weeks, two engineer's and hours of debating over the phone to get my broadband sorted! Well I say sorted I now have 4.5 MBPS. The to engineer's I got ,the first one new nothing that I didn't already try. The second was specialised on broadband and fixed it. Both times they tried to charge me £49 witch I never paid because it was their problem.

At first Sky was fantastic with great speeds actually exceeding my recommended bandwidth but within two weeks and several pointless phone calls later, Sky slowed down to worse than Dial up. I actually used my iPhone on EDGE which was faster at home, and am forced to write this review on it. Eventually after complaining to Sky about my diminishing speed I requested a MAC code only to find my connection terminate entirely despite the fact that I had not even opened my MAC address letter. I did not instruct cancellation, which they said they couldnt do until the contract was up anyway. Essentially Sky do not fulfill their contactual obligations to their customers and eventually in my case are charging me for a service ghat is totally inoperable. Rubbish!

Do not know what to say. Customer service from sky is excellent. Ordered tv and Sky Fibre optic unlimited package. Was expecting to get 40mbs. I am lucky to get 2mbs. It is so slow and randomly disconnects. I used to have Virgin broadband - who were fantastic to say the least. 50mbs nearly everyday. Unfortunately they do not provide a service to where I have moved. Stuck for 12 months. Surely they cannot advertise 40mbs and only provide 2mbs?

Not at all impressed .we have been with sky for ages. Lately internet has been unstable for like 4 weeks and still nothing is being done about it. We have called them twice and still waiting for a part they are to send is to improve our internet. The first lady apparently forgot to lodge our complaint and even after the second phone call they haven't done anything . You wait like 35 minutes for someone to pick your call.
    So frustrated!!!!!!!
Need to look for some other provider.

On Sky Fibre using the black SR102 hub on a 40MB subsription. Using a wired connection I get 39mb, but the wireless part of the hub is worse than useless I often get 1 - 2MB if I'm luck I might get 5mb down on a good day. Having researched the issue lots of people are having the same issue. From what I can make out there is interferance issue with the power supply and the wireless antenna. Long with sky using old technology in the hub adds to the problem. I would not recommend sky fibre until they sort out their routers

Usually good but when there's a problem it takes days on end to get it sorted.

Several days ago our broadband slowed down to the point that it is pretty much non-existent now. According to our contract we should have up to 24MB speed, currently it is under 2. Uploads are also not working at all, the speed is 0.5MB at best. Called them and was told tests indicate there might be a problem outside our home but still they don't seem to think it should be sorted quickly. We have to wait for days now to get someone onsite so it can be checked.

The worst customer service I’ve ever come across! Happy to take your money but don’t like rectifying problems! Tried to tell me I would have to pay £60 for an engineer to come out and look at my NEW sky dish that was only fitted 3 months previous that we where having problems with! Advisor was very unhelpful and kept saying it was my box when I proved it wasn’t! Made a formal complaint and asked for the call to be listened to, a complaints handler phoned me back a week later, admitted that the original call handler had been in the wrong and rude, I escalated it, was told someone would phone me back only for me to call a them back a MONTH later and be told they’d closed the complaint, didn’t even bother to tell me! If I wasn’t in contract I would leave! As soon as my contract is up I’m off to another supplier

Ever since Sky took over my Broadband from O2, my speeds have consistently fallen, to the current 2M. With O2 I usually got at least 3 to 4M most days.

It's been an nightmare to be on Sky Broadband - my current download speed is 0.1 Mbit!
Horrible experience, it happens so often. It is not possible to work from home at all being on Sky Broadband. Avoid. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!
