What is Openreach?
Openreach is the company that maintains the former British Telecom Network used for the majority of broadband and phone services. If a repair or installation is required, it’s Openreach who will send an engineer, not your provider.
More than 650 service providers using the Openreach network. That’s the majority of the UK’s broadband providers. This includes Sky, TalkTalk and BT. The exception to this is Virgin Media - it uses its own, separate cable network.
Onestream Fibre 40
Onestream’s entry-level superfast fibre package is a little speedier than other providers, with average download speeds of 40Mb and upload speed of 9Mb. This is enough for a few people sharing the connection, so will do the job very well for many.
Onestream Fibre 80
This package has an average download speed of 67Mb and an upload speed of 18Mb. Fibre 80 would be a good choice if you’re in a busy shared or family home. Or, if you’re on your own, but carry out a lot of downloading, streaming or gaming.
Onestream Supreme Full Fibre 80, Full Fibre 115, Full Fibre 220 and Full Fibre 550
If you’re lucky, you can snap up a bargain here. At the time of writing, you could sign up to Supreme Full Fibre 80 for £20 per month on a 24-month contract. That’s a great deal! For this, you’ll receive estimated broadband speeds of 70Mb (with a 35Mb guarantee).
Onestream Hyperstream Full Fibre 1000
The fastest package Onestream offers. At the time of writing, this was on offer for under £35 per month on a 24-month contract. For this, you’ll receive an estimated download speed of 871Mb (435Mb guaranteed minimum) and a 101Mb estimated upload speed.
Onestream Wi-Fi router
Unfortunately, you'll have to pay an additional fee to get sent a Onestream router.
On checkout, you'll be given the option to add one of three different routers into your basket for an extra monthly fee. This could add up to an extra £5.95 per month on your bill.
You’re also free to use your own router with Onestream Broadband. However, you’ll need the DSL credentials to authenticate with the service and connect to the internet. Keep an eye out for these on the day your broadband is activated. These details will be sent in an email.
For a deeper look into this, you can read our Onestream router round-up.
