An awful service. Technical advice was hopeless when broadband signal kept dropping. Eventually told it would take up to 28 days to find the problem. Working from home made this totally unacceptable. I terminated my contract, changed provider and the fault was rectified in 24 hours. Now facing a substantial early termination fee which I am reluctantly pay.

***PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER JOINING TALKTALK****I echo many of the comments made about this truly awful broadband provider. if you are thinking about changing to Talk Talk then i strongly urge you not to do so. Since swapping to them from Plusnet in May 19(to save £17 per month) i have had an awful experience. They promised 11 mb/s but i am lucky to get 6 Mb/s and the buffering on my smart tv is doing my head in. I spent 1 and half hours with the complaints team and then the technical team (now he really was a joke) with nothing resolved at the end other than if i wanted to leave then i had to pay a penalty in excess of £100. They also stated that i was getting 7Mb/s running through my phone line and that was satisfactory. My ofcom app shows it less than 6 Mb/s every day. It would appear that i am stuck with this terrible service for another 10 months which i find most upsetting. The customer service offered online is totally pointless. The complaints team are useless and the technical person i spoke to talked like a robot and even asked me to drag my TV 20 ft to plug it into the router when he knew full well that this was a ridiculous thing to suggest.

I have issues with my tv box no hd channels for a week and counting after contacting talktalk on the phone for 1hr and 35 mins with staff unable to understand or solve the problems I was told I would be contacted the following day this never cam.instead I was told I would be contacted 3 days later still no call,then today I phoned again and was told I would be contacted that evening a email later I was told it would be tomorrow instead whats going on,this is totally unacceptable

Absolute rip off. Took over a month to set up broad band. Then they got us locked into a 18 month contract which we are still paying for monthly even though I moved out of my flat 5 months ago! They also have the cheek to raise the monthly price in that time to £18.95 instead of £17.50. No point complaining over the phone because they never answer. Cant wait until the contract finally ends and they can be gone for good. Over £300 wasted on them, could have had a nice holiday this summer!

1 star is too high for these scam artists and thieves they took money out of my account for 2 years for a service I didn't receive. I spent hours on the phone pleading for help and they kepts saying someone would call and no one ever did.
it would be better to pay more and go to a company who actually cares for its customers.

I had a very bad experience with their sales team based in South Africa. The man said because we were good customers for 30 years he would give me 2 sim cards with the plan and I would keep my phone number. He lied on both counts.

Customer services is not helpful in anyway and totally rubbish. She made it extremely difficult to communicate any information to her by asking the same questions again and again, often not responding at all or repeating utter nonsense back to me. It was clear she either had no idea what she was doing or that it was a trick to keep me on the line for as long as possible to eat up my credit! I was frustrated and furious as the phone call was going nowhere but around in circles which I knew would cost me a bomb. She didn't solve my simple problem whatsoever and in the end she hung up on me!! So rude, I could not believe it! NOT RECOMMENDING THIS NETWORK/

They only talktalk about your pocket when I joined they said I wouldn't need an engerneer but when I look at my statement they took £55 I rung up they couldn't explain why it was taken. So near the end of my contract wanted to cancel they told me to ring back on another date when I did ring they kept on lie on say systems down and to call back on a time when they closed. Customers service non existent and braking the law by false information. Keep away from the stress, if you got the time take them to court

Beware if contemplating talk talk broadband. They only guarantee a wired connection not wifi speed. They r charging us for a service not fit for purpose. To get out of contract will cost £299. BB

Moved from BT to Talk Talk three years ago. At first the broadband and wi-fi speed were an improvement on BT's provision, I am guessing it was down to the router being better than the old BT offering. There were certainly less dropped connections and the wi-fi in a fairly big house was better than BT's. In fact I was full of praise for the improved speeds and reliability.
The last few months have seen a deterioration in speed and wi-fi reach, again I can only put it down to the router since I have exactly the same configuration as three years ago when I joined Talk Talk.
Several technical calls, reboots, diagnostic checks etc etc. I asked if another router could be sent out since they have upgraded since I first joined, this however was refused.
I have now decided to switch provider in the hope that their 'new' router will give me the wi-fi coverage and speed that I was getting three years ago.

Would definitely not recommend switching to this company. I signed up to a tv, broadband and phone deal and if I'm honest the go live date on the broadband and phone was seamless and my internet has been fairly reliable. However, after two weeks and still not receiving my youview box I called to ask where it was. 1hr and a number of different departments (who don't seem to communicate with each other at all) I was informed that they had attempted delivery and as I was not in they had returned it to base and cancelled the to part of my contract (no difference to the price they were charging me). Never got any apology or explaination as to why they had not communicated with me over any of this. I have had to call a number of times while they assure me they are sorting things for me and on many occasions I have found the staff to be extremely rude and unhelpful. They then tried to tell me I would have to sign back up to a new tv package (more expensive) -!: pay again for the to installation. I refused this as I had already paid for installation and had nothing installed! Sooooo 45 minutes on hold to be told by someone in customer management "what do you want us to do about it". I have now decided to downgrade the package to just broadband and count the days till I can leave this company!!!

Awful service, I am getting huge mobile Bill's because I have to use my phone data because internet keeps disconnecting. Everyday it disconnects and will not work. Average speed tends to be around 6mps when working, really really really terrible

Just changed from Sky. Slower MBps despite it being sold to me as a superfast connection. Technical advice and customer care appalling. Resolution even worse. non reply of emails. Talking with their call centre staff a nightmare. The contacts I had could barely speak fluent English. When I finally got a response to my question (fifth attempt)'can I speak to a Manager or Supervisor?', told non available all out!!
Can't wait to leave this apalling company.

Everything is fine until you need technical help. Be prepared to spend 2 hours or so and multiple tries before you get any kind of satisfaction. The 'technical' advisors read from a script and you have to do the same tests numerous times before they move on. Even though you have identified the problem yourself and they could move straight there, they have to go round and round in a ritual resembling torture. By the time you are done, you are willing to accept anything. When my current contract ends, I'll pay a bit more and go with someone else.

Broadband is slow for me. Customer services in Manilla is terrible. They just don't understand. I upgraded to fibre optic and get exactly the same speeds I don't even think it is fibre optic!. I complained about 1mb download, a woman from manila says hang on(slight pause) try it now . It went straight to 6mb . I hung up, it went straight back down.
Keep well clear customer services are the worst ever when you eventually get through and then get them to understand your question.
If you game online forget these as well because their upload is pathetic.

Worst broadband ever had better wifi speeds in a tiki hut with a wooden router powered by a hamster wheel in the amazon rainforest. My gran could run faster than talktalk download speed absolute rip off don't ever give them any money because they don't deserve it. I pray that they become bankrupt and homeless because of all the wifi problems I encountered. Have a nice day :)

Moved back in with my parents post university life, after using Virgin Media for the last 3 years (who have been excellent) who use TalkTalk and have to say everything about them is completely dreadful. I regularly use the internet to stream simple things like Youtube or Netflix when i get home from work, and even though I'm the only one using a computer the internet still struggles to meet the requirements. The speeds are absolutely terrible, the only time they actually hit anything like the advertised 8MB is when i ring up and inform them how their internet is struggling to buffer a 15 minute video on Youtube. Having gone from another cheap alternative in Virgin who were very good, cannot believe how the standard has dropped so massively even with the price being relatively similar, horrendous. The customer service advisors on the phone are like robots plugged in they read nothing but scripts so cannot offer real world solutions to why their product is so poor, and using a call centre based in foreign countries always leads to poor customer service reviews, this is why.
We will be changing providers soon, cannot believe how and they are, good for people that use the internet once a day to check their emails, bad for everyone else. AVOID.

Our broad band service keep being lost intermittently (every 15 mins) which is very frustrating for whole family. I have been in touch with customer services on several occasions and the service is getting worse. An enginers came to the house yesterday. He arrive an hour earlier than appointment, hence only my daughter was in the house. After 2 mins he left without explaining what he had done. Today the but left without explaining what he had done. I have had enough and am looking to switch supplier.

I waited for engineer to start up my broadband for 4weeks. No one showed up and no one called to cancel. This then happened 2 more times over 3 months. No set up, no internet connection for 4 months. I called to cancel the contract but they threatened me with early termination fee of over £800. Had to write a letter to their office before a solution but they kept deducting monthly even after they apologized and promised to cancel the contract. I cancelled the direct debit and this company has destroyed my credit score

The broadband has slowly deteriorated throughout the contract and become slow and unusable.
On top of this, a month into my contract they put the monthly cost up by £5 which no longer made them the cheapest option but sadly I was tied into a 2 year contact. To add insult to injury they LITERALLY advertise that they wont hike the price mid contract. So that's a lie.
They schedule upgrades in the area but don't bother to tell you in advance so you're just left without internet for 6 hours with no warning.
Ringing them is the biggest waste of time, don't bother. Can't wait till my contact is up, 3 months to go!

So there I was quite happy for years with AOL then on a dark winters evening I got a call from satan himself at TalkTalk with an offer that was so good I thought I was in heaven but alas this would never happen as the promise of cheap broadband that was offered somehow got lost through the Asian call centre world that here in the uk we just love (NOT). anyway I got shafted by without doubt the very worst of the big broadband players and after what seemed a million years of phone calls and a full era of emails nothing could be sorted out by my Asian cousins. Well today I sit here and write about my happiness as yesterday the 18 months of living hell was up and I switched to a tiny new broadband company who offered me a free router with no postage and no other costs just the landline and guess what now I'm in broadband heaven. So to sum up to all you people thinking of joining TalkTalk because you think that you can see a good deal BEWARE as the evil forces of Ms H****** and her band of deceivers are at work here and so for that I hereby award the golden router award to TalkTalk. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

Other reviews more or less say it all. TalkTalk do not deliver the goods in terms of a reliable and quality service and constant disconnections/dropouts are frustrating, particularly when my daughter is downloading her lecture material from University. The telephone is disrupted occasionally, but not often, and this is really the most reliable part of the package. My speed is hardly ever more than 2.8M, thoguh on off peak it soars to 8.5M on occasions. This unpredictability makes it more frustrating. Customer service? Forget it. By the time they answer the phone, the problem is usually resolved, and the staff are hopeless when you do manage to get through...We are looking around now for something better...Trouble is, there are now horror stories for every ISP...Wish I lived abroad, where service and quality are far higher and the service cheaper. They set up 2 direct debits with my bank. Luckily I noticed this and cancelled them. They offered me 3 months free if I don't report them to ofcom and not cancel my order. I agreed to this. Got my bill today no 3 months free and they say they never offered me the 3 months in the first place. I am disabled and feel like I've been scammed.

Worst mistake i ever made going with TalkTalk. I entered the simply broadband contract beleiving i would be only be charged £17.70 per month and they have added charges on my account every month. So far my cheapest bill has been 32.20! The engineer who came out to fit the phone socket installed it in a ridiculous unsafe place and when i complained to TalkTalk about this they sent an engineer to "move the phone socket" however the engineer had been sent to check the phone line and then TalkTalk had the cheek to charge me £65 for the call out! When they finally moved my phone socket they left significant damage to my property inside and out. I have put in several complaints with TalkTalk but none have been dealt with. They promise to call me back then never do. I definately wouldnt recommend TalkTalk. They are a scam.

Worst internet provider I've ever used. We moved house and didn't get any wifi for nearly 5 weeks. We had to constantly ring them to fix it, which was extremely time consuming and each time we were told that it would be fixed within 48 hours. Those on the other end of the phone had no idea how to fix it and it was only when we told them to cancel our contract that they (eventually) bothered to do anything about it. Apalling service I would never recommend them.

Affordable, broadband works fine, phone works fine, TV works fine. Only problem is never have a phone contracted to them!! If you decide to cancel it and pay it all off they disconnect your wifi, which means you can't connect to any wifi anywhere! They were charging us £10 for 500mb and paying the phone off, but mum cancelled it and moved to giffgaff for a better price. Even though she paid all the contract off they disconnected her wifi so she has to have unlimited mobile data. Such a joke. Customer service useless too! 'we can disconnect your phone but can't connect it back to the wifi.' Joke.

I am absolutely furious with talktalk. Called up to cancel over a month ago and paid over the phone for cancellation fee because connection was absolutely abysmal. I have just been charged again!! I called up and apparently there was a systems error when I made my cancellation so it did not go through. Because I didn't receive a confirmation email of cancellation apparently it was my responsibility to chase this up. Completely ridiculous. Customer service is appalling. Do not use this company!!!!!
