Unbelievable lows in respect of product and customer service. about 1.9mbps, may as well be dial up. Continually lie about giving you call backs to help sort out a solution. Mention cancel in contract and they immediately trot out that they meet OFCOM standards and as such there is nothing they can do. Clearly all agents are well briefed on this. Annoying thing is only under contract as moved house and remained brand loyal. Offered to put me on a fibre trial at more money to see if that helped. No guarantees offered though. I asked if this would start a new contract length, they said yes it would. So to attempt to get anywhere near a decent speed I have to pay more and gamble that it delivered, otherwise I am locked in longer to a more expensive white elephant.

Totally awful!
We were with Fuel broadband, and our speed was around 15Mb/s - it wasn't the fastest ever but it was fast enough and reliable. The Post Office took over and our speeds have dropped massively, they fluctuate from a few Mb/s to 100Kb/s.
On top of this the PO are gradually squeezing our bills, first it went from £28 to £30 per month, then £33, now £34.
Absolute bunch of ****s.
We've had this before, when BT bought out PlusNet, and when TalkTalk bought Tesco.
As with all the others, we will not be staying customers for much longer.

Never ever ever buy Post Office broadband. It is utterly useless and cuts out relentlessly...want to stream a movie? Forget it! I have been stuck in this contract for 11 months...there is light at the end of the tunnel

Have to phone customer service on mobile as you are charged on your landline(!!) albeit I was on their inclusive weekend phone package. Rude and contradicting call handlers. Luckily got out of contract as they put up price mid contract. Have gone back to Sky. Avoid these charlatans at all cost

Unfortunately I did not read reviews before switching from previous broadband supplier to PO., and did not know that their router does not connect to wireless printers which I depend upon. Nor do they mention this anywhere. They also seemed to think this is acceptable and advised me to buy a 3rd party router. The speed is ok most of the time. Do NOT buy PO broadband. My intention to save money has backfired and can’t wait to leave.

I have read some very negative reviews of this provider but I can only speak as I find. We have been with them for nearly a year now and have had nothing but good service and support. When broadband failed on one occasion an assistant was very helpful and talked me through the most likely cause. When it was discovered that the cause was a faulty router a replacement was in the post arriving the next day. Once again the assistant was prepared to go through the steps of installation with me. So no, I have no complaints and found the customer service and provision of telephone and broadband excellent.

Excellent price at 8pcm, plus 15 for line rental which is less than the line provider (BT) charges. Shows how much BT rip people off. Reliability is 100%, speed 6-8mb as I'm less than 1m from the exchange.
Package has got worse, as they've removed components such as free evening calls to landlines, free weekend calls to mobiles and some international numbers; they now sell this as a separate 5.75 add on, which is disappointing but at a total price of 28.75 would still be bearable, considering you're not financing a media scum mogul who (apparently) hacks murdered schoolgirls voicemails. And TalkTalk regularly have the worst customer service known, only rivalled by Orange & BT.
Post Office customer service is mostly good, although they did leave my 80 year old mother cut off for days, despite promising me that they'd get her reconnected within hours. That and the fact that they never even called me back to explain, when they'd promised to, means that they lose 2 stars and my respect. At least their customer service hasn't been relocated, a la Dyson/Orange/Sky, to a far flung place where you have problems understanding and being understood.

Not even worth one star i have had problems from the very start when pput in they put it against a wall so I couldn't take the face off the box if anything went wrong, he then changed the leads and told me i would not be charged then tried to bill me. then called them after i came home from work to find it not working ,they asked me to take the face off the box and I couldn't so they had to send an engineer to fix it and told me i could be charged up to £140 he was here for 4 hours they sent me a faulty kit to start with then went up the pole to check that out and other things after he left it worked the day after fine then 2 days later netflix on my tv stopped working and random websites like adsa wont load on my laptop i called them up and they said if you are connected by one device thats good enough for the company absolutely disgraceful service

Absolute rubbish, constantly have to restart the router, the safeguard (while i agree in principle is way too strict) and too difficult and time consuming to even attempt. There own technician said on one of the many occasions of trying to sort it and i quote "It is by far the crappiest provider, unreliable and outdated service he has ever had the misfortune to have been in contact with"

After experiencing no internet from the minute off alleged switch on. We phoned the post office to ask for help.
We were.
Fobbed off
Treated poorly
Mistreated
Poorly advised
After a month of no service we had no option but to request a cancellation if this none existent service.
You can’t cancel we were advised and the rude advisors from the Royal Mail were nothing short of useless and rude.
After over 30 phone calls. More than one a day for a month we managed to get the service cancelled.
But believe me that was not easy. We had threats of charges of £700 for breaking contracts.
The help and support was shocking. Only stating we will be complaining to the ombudsman saw some action to have this service cancelled
My advice. Avoid the Royal Mail. It’s not the trustworthy company of old. It’s now cut throat and ruthless.

Terrible unreliable broadband, and the customer service is worse. Tried to cancel an hour after going live but the 14 day cooling off period begins from when you sign up so they wanted me pay the full amount of my contract. Had it a week now and it’s gone off twice. Phoned customer service, it’s 50/50 wether they talk to you or cut you off once you have got through.Sat in last week waiting for engineer who never came, apparently that is fine, he may not need to come to the house and they don’t tell you your ok to go out. I could go on but you get the idea.

Can only speak from personal experience. I had a problem with broadband dropping off at various times rang post office and to be it took a few weeks to sort out but they were helpful and courteous did everything to sort out had engineers attend the property but couldn't find anything wrong. Eventually they put the line on 24 hour watch and did discover dropouts on the line. Post office were great at ringing me to keep me up to date so no need for me to keep ringing them, post office did all the leg work to correct the fault which eventually turned out to be a fault on the line from the green box to the exchange which bt corrected and now have a nice clear broadband. So to sum up it does take time as post office have to deal with bt and talktalk but it did get sorted, eventually.

Very heartbroken by this provider, the internet stops every time it doesn’t work one day without stoping over 3 times and becoming slow.
They take customers very lightly and am one of them, they need to start being more professional & wide open.

Problems from the very start - it took 4 visits from the engineer to replace all wiring from telegraph pole to the phone socket and still very slow service that kept dropping. Nex to be blamed was the cordless telephone - replaced at my cost - still the same. In all it took 3 months to get a useable service which only dropped out once a week or so and was a reasonable speed until after I told them I would not be renewing my 1 year contract when the speed was cut in half. Switched to plusnet and set up 3 computers 2 phones and smart tv in half an hour.Speed is fast and stable.

Won't use again. The child filter blocks a lot of children's sites that it shouldn't, the BT one was much better. Reliability is so-so if all you're doing is downloading files but I've had numerous problems with port 22 (ssh) getting blocked, meaning some applications don't work properly, despite phoning them on many occasions (with ridiculously long on-hold times). Very cheap, but in hindsight not worth the saving.

PO Broadband is at least as good as the others that I have had - usually change to the cheapest each year. No difference in service from SSE broadband, Sky and PlusNet. PO was the cheapest when my PlusNet contract finished last August. No complaints since then - the occassional disconnect, but that occurred with PlusNet as well - just reboot the modem. I was sent an offer to upgrade my PO line to fibre (for £20.90 pm). Customer service very helpful and efficient. I will update when my fibre connection is in place (next week).

Moved from BT as thought a better deal for unlimited broadband. Speed is very slow and I keep getting disconnected. Cannot access my account on line by my IPad as I do not have adobe flash player installed! Why do I need Adobe when all I want is to access my account and go paperless etc. Would not recommend and will change provider at end of contract

RUBBISH! If I am still within the cooling off period I am cancelling. Been 'switched' on 1 week and internet is still not working. You email - no response, you call them and sit in a queue as they are always 'experiencing high call volumes' now I know why - it is terrible. Save yourself time and don't even bother with it!

The phone service is fine, but the broadband speed in the evenings is rubbish; a THIRD of a Mb if I'm lucky. Often the speed test times-out as the speed is so slow. It used to be better, but the Post Office blame a lot of users in the evenings and say they can't improve the speed. I will leave as soon as I can face changing my email address. Foolishly I set up a postoffice email address, which I now regret.
Don't use them if you want broadband that works.

AVOID AT ALL COST
I signed up for a £19 per month unlimited broadband and free calls package, an 18 month package. I’m 12 months in and total charges have come to £421.55 instead of £228 that’s an over charge of £193.55 so far.
According to customer services my monthly contract is actual £19 plus £3 for free evening and weekend calls. Considering I worked during the day, very few calls are made during the day so how my monthly bill can average £35 is beyond me. The internet reliability is dreadful and the speed very poor. Sadly I’m stuck with them for another 6 months and WILL be changing providers. Please don’t use the P.O. for broadband and telephone services, it will cost you a fortune

After complaining about horrible speeds and then realising I had the phone cable plugged into the wrong place, customer service helped me out and my broadband is just as fast as the broadband I had with Sky. I assume it varies by location but I get good speeds here.

I read the reviews and thought surely they can't be that bad ?
Oh dear. I was put on the wrong contract at the wrong price. Twenty minutes wait on the phone for a customer service person who then told me it wasn't his fault or the Post Offices, it was Fujitsu, who he said oversees things. Eventually he told me that for 10 days although someone had instantly saw they'd filled out the boxes incorrectly, their method for telling others had not been seen or actioned. He then said he couldn't do anything until I went ' Live '. I asked what do I get for the time wasted and the mess about. £ 5. Wow ! This is all before I'm supposed to be connected next week.
Leave them ? Maybe I should but it's just a pain to switch again. Maybe they should just be able to do their job ?

My mother passed away in February so I rang the Post Office to have her contract transferred into my name. A manin custoner services talked me into signing up for a 18 month contract for £18 per month. Turns out after 3 months I will be charged £28 per month. What a con, and now I have been told that because I changed my contract they don't support or give email addresses. I wasn't told this when I signed up and if I knew it was going to happen I wouldn't have done it. So now I cannot receive or send emails from mypostoffice.co.uk. The excuse is that they have changed the user name from mypostoffice.co.uk to pobroadband.co.uk and don't support email any longer. I have also had wifi connection problems for years and keep getting told when I ring them that I need to change the microswitch even though it is only a few months old. I would not recommend them to anyone. I thought the Post Office was a reliable company as it has been around for years, how wrong can you be!!! Don't use them

I was switched from fuel broadband to post office broadband when the buyout happened. The assumption was that only the name of the provider would change but how wrong I was !!!!! Speed is up and down, never as fast or as stable as Fuel Broadband was and sometimes I just give up trying to watch netflix. Stuck in a contract, any way out?

Post Office Broadband is dire rubbish!
It is slow, continually stops to load ( not something big with lots of action either, just a song or piece of music on YouTube.
My computer and Tv are fairly new, there is only one user so the system isn’t overloaded and my neighbours who are with other providers don’t have problems.
And their usage is a lot higher than mine is.
To anyone who asks me, I say “STAY AWAY”.
I wish I could quit it now but there is still 6 months of my contract.
After that, I would not use it even if offered it for free!

I added Broadband to my parents Post Office phone account specifically because of the 12 month free broadband offer. After my father died i mistakenly thought it would be a simple thing to just take over the account and pay the bills instead of my dad ( by cash at PO )But no , they insisted on forcing through a change of responsibility - which meant starting a new account in my name.I told them that if they didn't transfer the 12 months free broadband i wasn't interested. After numerous calls i was vaguely assured that i would still get 12 months free broadband but i had nothing in writing, so i phoned them to cancell within the 14 day cooling off period.
Despite the cancellation the new account has still gone through and a charge for broadband has appeared on my bill - despite a letter turning up confirming the Free Broadband.
The call centre staff have completely ignored my wishes to cancell and lied to me at every turn.Unless you enjoy stress avoid the Post Office - needless to say i will try to close my account if they don't fulfill their promises, but they just don't listen i might have the same problem escaping in 18 months time. The only way to cancell is to tell Sky or Plusnet to take over the account and let them try their luck. What good is the 14 day cooling off period if they still ride roughshod over it and carry on regardless?

Absolutely abysmal. Post Office Broadband are actually directly dishonest with you. They tell you there are no limitations. Yet when i tried to use Morpheus and other streaming services - they would not allow me to use it. Um - thatis MY chouce to make. NOT THEIRS!
Secondly, when using my Firestick (i only have this and two mobile phones) and stream my favourite shows/films there - PO Broadband deliberately strangle your wifi, repeatedly interrupting your viewing, slowing it right down and causing problems with buffering, ie: no buffering at all, even if you leave it for 5 minutes.
They are sneaky, dishonest and underhanded. The internet speed also mysteriously slows right down, if you are late paying your bill.
No company should have the power to do this. This infringes on consumers' personal greedom of choice and it's disgusting.
But many companies do do this, lying to consumers that they have no control, which is utter horsefeathers.
I am in the process of reporting this to Ofcom and to Watchdog. Others should do the same.
Post Office is as bad as EE!
