been with the post office for a while now overall not a totally bad service but there unlimited broadband package is not unlimited at all it is limited to 100gb and if you go over that they will restrict you speeds and charge you extra call centre staff could be better trained they do not seem to have a clue on how to fix faults once the internet kept dropping out and the member of staff i spoke to was changing the wifi channel even though there was a red light on there router would not recommend as my internet speeds are the lowest in my area and i was told by the bt engineer that they rent talk talks lines so....

Worst provider I've ever had! I've spent a year switching it off to reboot than more times I've had hot dinners! I've had to use my mobile data when at home cos theirs is always off line! This day and age when things like your heating relies on a good continues connection this is the pits! I actually dont use my wifi much probably no more than an average of an hour for buying and checking news emails etc. But I've not been able to even do that most days and I've used my phone data more than my home wifi which is so wrong! Maybe cheap but I would never use them again and I would never recommend them either! Difficult to set up new account as send you log on and password separately but in my case they didn't send at all and it goes on and on...you've been warned!

Awful. Broadband connection kept dropping out. Also, they don't contact you when you are out of contract, you just get a nice surprise when your bank statement arrives. Then, when you change broadband providers, they first send you a snotty letter, and then a bill!
Don't go there!!

We live on a farm at end of the phone line in rural Yorkshire, so broadband is going to be fantastic.
However the broadband speed that Post Office would suffice for general internet use and occasional movie streaming. However the actual speed was only 2/3 of what was suggested.
What really got our goat was when the contact ended and our bills went up from roughly £20pm to £27 then to £37. When we phoned up to speak to them, they were very rude and told us it was our own fault for not knowing when our contract ended and it isn't current legislation to notify us and when I told them Sky let you know the operator said he had his broadband with Sky - when I questioned why he had a package with Sky and not Post Office he quickly moved me on to his usual bullsh!t spout about terms on conditions.
Avoid them like you would the plague. Pay more for a better service.

Worst service I've ever seen. Support staff limited in what they can do and say. Broadband speed non-existent, quicker with a stone tablet and a chisel (and you think I'm joking - not)! Hours after taking the service they put the prices up! I find absolutely nothing good to say about them. OFCOM please investigate these inadequates and slam them with a fine.

Zero stars not possible ? Just signed up with BT two days ago which is more expensive and poor CS reviews but I CANNOT put up with the PO any more. Phone fine, it's all broadband issues - the speeds are terrible ie 0.2 upload, 0.05 download. And you get no joy from the 'technical' dept who give a different story every time you speak to a different person - line tests not done, call backs not made, speed tests not 'on system', e-mails not received .... on and on. Anything to get rid of you and not admit they can't supply reliable broadband anymore. I've had enough and jumped ship. If this comment helps anyone thinking of using them, decide not to - I've helped.

Broadband often slow, especially weekends. Had issues last mont with exceptionally slow or no broadband at all for two weeks, contacted PO they said problem was our end, wires etc? Eventually they decided it may be the router, which it was - sent us one after two weeks then charged us for it! Sometimes when checking phone bill I notice calls which I don't think I have made, mostly mobiles which I will only use my mobile to call on, but can't prove it so have to pay for these calls.

Please trust me on this matter, having transferred both my and my mother's phone/ broadband. It's been the worst decision I've ever made. 12 weeks later, and we're still waiting for any internet connection. This company is dysfunctional. Avoid at all cost- please don't be seduced by the low costs. They are pathologically useless.

Was with PO for phone line. When 12 month free offer came up for broadband I called them. They checked my area connection=great. Sent router (idiot proof) set it up. Online. Not had ANY issues with speed or connection. (have waited a couple of months, still not dropped in anyway) Only thing is password given is wrong for new email, cant access my account online. Called for new password, got in, then next couldnt. Havent been anle to access post office email since. However everything else is fine. I would say call them, no complaints here.

Great service. Change over was easy. So glad to be rid of talk talk. We've made 1 call to customer service, call was answered promptly and the agent was understanding, reassuring and knowledgeable. Really happy so far, not crashed once, it's only been a week but seem better than any other provider. Worth it for the comprehensive customer service. Oh, speeds are twice as fast as talk talk, whom they piggy back. Weird huh...

had serious internet problems since November 21 st 2015+ 19 Engineers later & problem still not fixed by any means, seems to be a problem with the main exchange which the Post office are doing nothing about only sending out yet more Engineers which are not & can not sort the problem. we live in rural Country & I did or can now only attempt to work from home, we are now taking this further to the newspapers as it is getting far beyond a joke !!!

For the price I am paying it is a very good service. I think it is the cheapest one around, £17.00/month. It is only ordinary broadband but the download speeds I get are very good. I think is ideal for someone new to the internet.

I could not agree more with all the other reviews, I wish I had read the reviews before I switched. I get silly low speeds and frequent drop outs. Their response, whilst always polite, is to try to get me to upgrade to fibre (at no discount) which, for all I know, probably doesn't work as either and would trap me in an even more expensive contract. As it stands having endured 4 months of a 12 month contract it would cost me over £100 to escape. I am really kicking myself.

Switched to Post Office Broadband in 2016, as a response to BT continually upping their prices. I think I've made a mistake. The broadband is about as slow as it can get without actually stopping completely. Customer service is reasonable, once they've answered the phone - which can take some time.

Been with them since 2008 had 1 faulty router replaced within 3 days of reporting it. Since 2016 several problems with phone & Broadband connections caused by OpenReach. A phone call to POBroadband quickly & efficiently diagnosed faults, set repairs in motion and due to the number of occurrences gave a 1 month refund for inconvenience. Speed may not be fastest but adequate for me, Reliability seems to be down to OpenReach connection problems on telgraph poles and under the pavement not PObroadband. I have told OpenReach they have broken my connection before they left the pole but it still takes a call via POBroadband to get them to come back & fix it. Neighbours on BT service were equally frustrated by the number of faults and pay more for the service and had no refund.

As a post office employee I changed to Post office Broadband- after all it's a product I'm supposed to promote. The transition was smooth, but the broadband seemed slow. Its wasn't until I wanted to watch a programme on iplayer over christmas that I realised how useless it was! it took 3 hours to download a half hour programme- it buffered too much to watch it without downloading- in the end I missed the opportunity to see one of the few programmes that apealed to me! :(
unless all youwant to do is readi your e mails- this is not for you. The post office broadband staff were very sympathetic and helpful, and I was able to break my contact without penalty because the minimum guaranteed speed of 8 rarely got above 1.2!

Post Office Broadband is the worst service I have ever encountered. Lots of buffering and regular shutdown of service - never had that with ANY previous suppliers, EVER, since the creation of the internet! Just a word of advice for others being fed a load of lies by these charlatans - take pics every time the red light appears on the router - they can’t dispute those facts which, in screen-shot form, have a date and time. Also, make formal complaints by email and demand all replies by email - so everything is in writing - just in case you need to go to the ombudsman later. I now even have - in writing from a complaints officer - that the red light is actually, wait for it “a security feature.” I will not let these buffoons get away with providing a partial service yet they readily take their full fees as if they provided a perfect service. Another engineer visit is now lined-up for next Monday but I don’t really expect any miraculous results. We’ll see, but I am going all the way with this one and will not give up until I get a very substantial refund, a huge apology in writing and an acknowledgement that this so-called service is actually some very clever scam!

AVOID unless you have carrier pigeons as a back up.
I took their broadband offer of £15.90 a month 10 months ago and I can’t wait until I can bin it and go somewhere else, ANYWHERE else.
I moved to this “service” on the basis of cost because Sky who provided us with a brilliant service were going to bill me £29 a month which I thought was expensive.
SO …… where do I start? With Sky we were getting a consistent 8mb, with Post office, 4mb if we’re lucky and frequently not much quicker than ISDN.
When I queried this with their laughable “tech support”, I had some Dixon’s reject telling me that it was all down to “wireless interference” from outside of our property, i.e. a neighbor was causing the mayhem. Yes, really.
SO, for four consecutive nights I hauled myself out of bed at 4.am when all of my neighbours were fast asleep and guess what? No change at all.
THEN there are the multiple daily breaks in service and I do mean daily….and I do mean multiple.
In fact it broke for 10 minutes while I was trying to submit this review.
Anyway, we have two more months of the contract to run and if they paid ME to continue with it I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot barge pole.

Where to begin...Firstly if you are thinking of using the Post Office for your broadband you will regret it very quickly. I do shop around and have used a variety of broadband providers but none has left me so frustrated as the Post Office.
Intermittent broadband, slow broadband, e-mails not replied to, told I would have to buy a new filter, and a customer service that is as frustrating as the slow broadband itself.
It is good to shop around for the best deals but if that leads you to the Post Office then just read the reviews...they are a fair assessment.
My advice is to completely avoid the Post Office for your broadband.

I joined 10th Oct (this week) & have nothing but trouble. The first password sent to me by mail was not accepted when I tried to sign in. I phoned for help but an auto voice stated all lines were busy and told me to call back later, which I did a further 3 times that day but could not get to an advisor. the next day I did talk to an advisor who provided me with a new password but again this was not accepted when I entered it as did the next new password that was provided, so the person who was dealing with this problem said a new password would be sent to me within 5 days.
Now for the big laugh 3 letters arrived, same post from PO, the first 2 each contained a password, but they were different from each other, the final letter contained a plastic card enabling me to pay my monthly account at any PO counter, and to make matters worse the customer ref number was not mine. I tried to log on just now and a message came up that there was a problem with the site and try later No way can I recommend this outfit.

The speeds were slow (300ms to London servers).
The second we started any kind of real usage such as downloads or streaming video we had instant packet loss & pings upto a few seconds.
On phoning post office about this they insisted the problem was likely with our internal wiring, had us switch to the master socket 'to test it' and then the connection got better.
Interestingly this happened even if the connection was already on the master socket when we phoned them!
On attempting to transfer away from them we were told there would be an exit fee until we challenged them on having changed our call charges.
After that they then told us we had canceled our transfer, which we had not. On phoning them they told us to talk to the new ISP as their system had no record of them initiating the cancellation.
The new ISP said they had received no cancellation, when confronted with this the post office admitted the cancellation was entirely inside their own system.
DO NOT USE THIS ISP.

Moved to PO Broadband as their price was VERY good and THEN read the reviews and tried to cancel before it went live. An extremely personable lady at PO talked me out of cancelling and hey presto, the switchover went like a dream! My big concern was the streaming speed for Netflix HD but this has been fault-free since start-up. The speed is a little lower (11mbps) against 14mbps that I was getting from Plusnet but in the event it causes no problems and Plusnet didn't do me proud. Altogether HIGHLY recommended!!!!

Absolute crap, i can have up to 6.8mbps for a very short time in a morning then after a very short time it goes down as low 0,05 for the rest of the day and only improves again very late at night. Thank god my contract is finished this month, never again.
