Have had Post Office Broadband for 30 days now. Have never seen a download speed in excess of 2.1Mbs (It's often under 100kbs/s!). There have been frequent dropouts (no broadband!) since the first 10 days. The only time I've seen results that match the advertised speed is when I do a speedcheck, though on the last occasion it returned a download speed of zero Mb/s. Good price rubbish product.

Rubbish - unreliable connection - slow -
Routers which dont work
cannot connect to my email
Voicemail is unreliable
Hidden connection costs
The only reliable thing is they never fail to collect the money
I would not reccommend this service and I have the premium package!

BUYER BEWARE- 14 DAYS WITHOUT INTERNET!!!
The short story is the Post Office left us internet-gazumped. For 14 days, imagine- no streaming services, my wife (who is studying her Masters) unable to study, we both unable to work from home- having to have work conference meetings at relatives’ houses etc. A complete nightmare.
Here is what happened
The horror stories are true. But with the Post Office, the experience was so bad before I had even got my broadband. I purchased the broadband through the Post Office website. They contacted my then-provider. As my custom was going over to the Post Office, the then-provider in-affect begins the switch-over process. Please note, that once this takes place, the then-provider is unable to cancel the cancellation of their services unless the Post Office makes the request. I was informed (by the then-provider) they had received the request for a switch-over and it would happen in 15 days’ time.
One week later I received an email from the Post Office saying they had rejected my order because the landline information was incorrect. After speaking to the then-provider, I confirmed the landline details. Rather than complete the existing order, Post Office created a new order.
A day later I received another email rejecting my order again, this time because “someone had already put in a request to take over the line”. When I pointed out that someone was them, they told me they were unable to complete the order until the initial 15 days was complete then is would be a further 14 days until they could provide the internet. And because my then-provider had begun the switch-over process, they were unable to continue the internet to that time because they hadn’t received a request to cancel the cancellation, once Post Office rejected the first order.
Confused? Try spending 3 hours on a Saturday on the phone trying to find out what went wrong…

*DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME* you will end up paying for a yearly contract and can hardly ever get a connection. The speed was so slow on the off chance that it did work. And when you end the contract and on time they take two months money out of your bank for no reason and refuse to give it back! The staff on the phone are very rude. I am glad I am never dealing with these ever again!

Totally not fit for purpose. Came off Plusnet who were faultless but it prices up so thought I'd give these a go. Had non stop issues with connections dropping and poor speeds throughout. Had engineers out, done endless speed tests and finally they're giving me a new router! Will be leaving as soon as I can, never to return!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Terrible broadband connection & don't tell you about the 10 days you might get temporary disconnection until it is too late. My temporary disconnection was permanent for a week! Atrocious customer services to boot. AVOID!

Has turned absolute rubbish. Been with them a bit and changed to fibre plus but for 3 weekks now am getting less than 5mbps. Done their stupid tests and now gotta wait even longer to do more even though they can see im getting crap speeds. Seriously bad service and so not happy. Think they need to sort out their response times

I'm only writing this review because there are so many poor reviews. I'd normally only bother to write a review if I had a problem (and it wouldn't be very complimentary!).
The Post Office provides me with a very reliable, reasonably quick service for not a lot of money. I'm with them on price only, there are no frills, the router is basic, I've no idea if I have web space included and I don't use a service provider email address for myself. Oh, and the website is really basic too - but I'd rather have it this way rather than be faced with flashing X-Factor adverts and the like!
The speed is exactly the same as it was on Talk Talk (which became expensive) - not a surprise really, the Post Office uses the Talk Talk equipment in the exchange.
All in all a reasonably satisfied customer - just don't put the prices up - or start charging me for not paying by direct debit. Please!

Was swapping over to them from sky as the price was so much better but don’t go there.
The changeover date was for the end of this month, but excuse after excuse meant we had absolutely no faith in them as a company.
Extremely poor customer service, still hadn’t received the router even though it was only 4 days before the switchover date shocking company

DO NOT waste your time and your money, you would get a better and faster connection if you stood outside your own house with a metal coat hanger, connected to your phone or computer, if you want to have more than 1 browser tab open at a time, this is not for you, no sympathy for any one who still select's this provider, over ANY OTHER

POST ORIFICE
AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Horrendous svc full stop.
These clowns have the cheek to send a final payment demand (TWICE) for a closed account that I calculate is paid up.
Customer svc is a joke, don't reply to emails / & an 0345 number for customer svc's... I'll never ring them, if they want the claimed final payment they can kiss my crack...Or ring me & I'll put them on hold for 30mins...see how they like it.
P/Orifice went up to £30p/mth from £18.99 with no notice of contract ending, so Looked elsewhere, got Plusnet @ £16.99 p/mth faster B/band, a few router teething issues, all seems good now though.
B/Band deals in general are a rip off, don't be ripped off by these morons.. Look elsewhere is my advice, never again would I use P/Orifice.

Furious that I pay for fibre and still get a cheap speed that constantly buffers. Customer service do not help in the slightest and tell lies. I was turned of today even though I paid my bill at the beginning of the month I was even told when I called that he could see that and does not know why my internet was turned of he said he had gone straight to exchange to get it lifted within an hour 3 hours later still not lifted so my boyfriend called them and was told I called today paid the bill after the restrictions no I have proof from my bank it was at the beginning of the month and k was told that by the previous customer service rep. But then the second one said the first one had not spoken to exchange so therefore it would take 24 hours. So I went mad no way I paid my bill and should not have been restricted. He now says he definitely has spoken to exchange and it will take 2 hours to lift no I want it on now I need it on I'm furious. I will be speaking to the ombudsmen if it isn't on in 10 minutes.

Best broadband provider and service ever! Stay well clear! It is unreliable, inconsistent and slow. On the website they specified a 4-8/Mbps download speed for our package: it hardly ever even reaches the 4/Mbps level! Sometimes, for many consecutive days it stays well under 3/Mbps. The worst part is that the connection keeps dropping out EVERY SINGLE DAY, at least 3 times a day! When I contacted them about these issues, it took them a week to respond and even then it was an automated email, saying that I should try to restart my router and sit closer to it! Like I have not tried that before a thousand times...Both their broadband and customer service is absolutely horrible, I can't wait for my contract to end and switch to another provider! Under no circumstances give your money to this company, please!

I joined the Post Office two months ago and realise now you get what you pay for. They gave me a 'live date' which got moved on two days without informing me therefore I was without any internet as old provider ended. Wifi drops out mostly evenings and morning (the busy times according to the P.O.) however no problems using several devices within the home re connection. The worse thing I find is getting hold of them by phone. Several times recently I've rung and no one to take my call. Will leave at the end of my 18 mth contract.

For goodness sakes, whatever you do, DO NOT sign up with Post Office Broadband. It is absolutely useless..period. I have been stuck with them now for 6 months, and I'll be shackled to them for another 18 months, sadly. I have phoned on 7 occasions, complaining about the constant internet crashing, which happens at more or less the same times every day. I have been fobbed off with numerous different excuses as to why that should be, and as a matter of fact I have just come off the phone to them, during which time I mentioned that I had signal dropout 3 times in the last hour...she checked her data, said that this was not the case, and stopped short of calling me a liar. I was transferred to a cancellation receptionist at my request. She told me that they have no duty to provide wi-fi under the contract...only broadband, so I ask you...what good is broadband without the wi-fi? I was informed that if I wanted to leave, I'd have to pay them £153 for early termination. I will be taking the matter further with the ombudsman, but in the meantime...AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. If you want reasonably priced and totally reliable broadband (and working wi-fi). go to Plusnet. I wish we'd never left them.

21st March, 2018 VERY IMPORTANT...there IS a getout clause! This will be of help to many people currently itching to get away from this shower...by the way, Post Office broadband is owned by TalkTalk...that goes some way to explaining why the service is chronic. There's a ruling stating that if prices rise during your contract, you have the right to cancel and close your contract within a month of being notified. I have been saddled with them for 6 months, with the dread prospect of facing another 18 months. Thankfully, they decided to raise the price of the phone aspect of my package by £1 a month...FANTASTIC! Thank you TalkTalk, you've just given me the tool I needed to quit! I phoned yesterday, and gave them their marching orders, and immediately phoned Plusnet, the best provider ever, and reinstated our 12 month contract....with great joy and satisfaction. Don't delay...phone them and close your contract as a result of increases.

7 Days into my contract thought there would be a cooling down period where you can cancel if your not happy with the service but no apparently you can only cancel for 14 days up to your activation date! which means when you realize how bad there service is your stuck with it for a whole year! they will trick you into a contract by offering you a low monthly rate but is not much good when you realize that your Amazon Fire Stick doesnt work and all they can say is wait 10 days for optimisation of your hub, and can i cancel if i'm still not happy yes of coarse they say as long as you pay us £140!. They have no faith in there service which is why they wont allow you to cancel once you have tried it, how can you tell if your happy if they wont let you try?

I have been a PO customer for over 4 years. Very rarely have I been disappointed with any aspect and these recent reviews prompted me to post mine. At only £8 per month (currently £4) and £15 (£12 if paid in advance) line rental for unlimited broadband it must be a good deal. Plus calls at weekend to 40 different countries. How much more do people want? One thing has never been reported - the evening calls start at 6pm not 7 like so many others. You don't get fibre optic speed but my connection is mostly 7Mb, dropping slightly at busy times.

I really do not recognise the reviews I am reading as being from the post office. I think perhaps it is only those who are unhappy with their service that write reviews to vent their anger. It seems that every broadband provider is terrible that you would not touch any of them with a barge pole if only read these reviews. I have been with the post office for 2 years and they have been the most reliable provider I have been with. I have had no problems at all in this time and on the couple of occasions that I have called customer services, it has been answered quickly and dealt with immediately. I have had a good broadband speed and really cannot fault the service at all. Personally I would highly recommend the post office

Email has now been unavailable since Thursday 24th March. Customer support are useless and arrogant. Apparently customers will just have to wait until Tuesday after the Easter Holiday weekend to have it restored.

DO NOT SIGN UP. CHEAP FOR A REASON.
Promised good speeds but actual speed was 0.7mpbs at best - totally unusable. Previous broadband supplier gave speeds of 6mpbs.
Post Office tech support initially blamed it on my phone socket until I told them it worked fine with previous supplier.
They finally admitted that they couldn't deliver the speeds promised and contract was ended.
They didn't complete switchover correctly which took several calls to resolve.
Back with my old supplier and I suddenly have 7mbps!
Very nice staff at the post office telecoms team but unfortunately let down by poor broadband speeds.

I deeply regret moving to Post Office for my phone and Broadband provision. I moved June 2017. I am still waiting for a reply to an email I sent their help team in the same month (now January 2018). My broadband stops completely when there is an incoming land line call. I went through all the options when this first happened, including taking the cover off the phone line box and attaching the filter directly inside there, leaving the box exposed to my grandchildren fingers is NOT a good idea. Also, I cannot view my bills at all. I have had no repose whatsoever from Post Office to any of my queries. I can give them thumbs up though for when I decided to switch to them. They were helpful, polite and very encouraging. However, I really do regret moving. Downside for me, I foolishly paid upfront for a years line rental. If I close the account now, I will lose that payment. But it is going to be worth it to get decent broadband and decent customer service. I moved because I thought they would be cheaper than my previous provider. They are but they are most certainly NOT anywhere near as good. None of my friends are with Post office and none of them have the hassle I am getting to simply view my account online and certainly not being able to view my bill is ridiculous. Over all I cannot recommend anyone using Post Office for broadband and phone.

This internet provider will give you stress. Constant internet cut outs for no reasons, late for a bill? Instantly cuts out. Customer service follow a strict guideline and say nothing out of word, they have no IT skills whatsoever. I even switched Broadband and they messed it up, they closed the account and kept the line with them live meaning me having to wait more days for internet to be sorted. They lack any knowledge on how to run an internet service.

First off, Iv'e been with broadband for many years (Since 2009/8) Which, i will admit was easy going and no issues up until around 2014. The speed's is Horrible, and Should not be sell able in my opinion. I have given chance after chance. (My speed Fluctuates well below 1mbps and 0.09 Upload) Im disgusted at this service, Avoid this service And go to a better provider. The router also decided to stop working at random intervals. and has to be rebooted. Im going to be swicthing over to BT Infinity in the coming weeks to get away from all this. The only decent thing about PO Broadband is the fact that you may, if your lucky enough will get someone who can actually help and NOT waste your time! Also, if you go over your usage limit your speeds drop horrendously! I mean, they give you Horrible speeds when not capped, and they have the cheek top cap you lower, even though your already under 1mbps. Im absolutely done with this company! Avoid like the plague
