After many years being with PO I decided to switch to a new provider ,Simply because they're cheaper and with PO every bill would be different or higher and hard to understand.Switching was supposed to be easy........I contacted my new supplier and soon after they gave me the date when my service will go live with them. .As I would always pay for 3 months upfront with post office broadband ,The bill they created was also for 3 months. broadband, I was advised by their customer service to not pay it and wait for the adjusted final bill for only 1 month....However I didn't receive the right bill and I was constantly harassed by post office to pay the total for 3 months! I phoned them to explain the situation and asked for the right bill. They kept sending me letters or phoning me that my bill is overdue, Intimidating that this will have an effect on my credit score and so on.....I decided to write a complaint and over the sudden, few days later I FINALLY got the proper bill! HURRAY!! ...But this is not the end of the story...... The letter I got yesterday ( 29.11.18) was for the right amount and to be paid by 8th December. Today (30.11.18) I GOT ANOTHER LETTER STATING THAT THEY STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE PAYMENT, AND THAT THE OUTSTANDING AMOUNT MUST BE PAID IMMEDIATELY?? I mean REALLY?? I had to ask and explain my bill for a month! and you're again intimidating me with your letters? The reason why the bill hasn't been paid yet is because YOU HAVE A MESS IN YOUR SYSTEM!!! how can you possibly send me one day the bill that should be paid within 9 days, and the next day the bill ordering to pay immediately?? NEVER AGAIN!!AVOID !!shame you cant add attachments to this review!! how you can send completely different statements in 1 day apart!

Stay away from this service. I had my go live date on the 26th November and I’m still waiting for internet on my router it’s been 3 days. I tried calling them several times but they said their engineers are working on the problem but never turned up to check my line. Never get tempted by their low price this shows that lower the price they provide the worsts service.

STAY AWAY!!! My services were cancelled by the Post Office for them to take over. They did not take over on the date promised by them. On contacting them they told me nothing, they have no structure or customer service skills. On sending in a formal complaint, this was addressed with promise of getting back to me. I am STILL waiting. I have now been without phone and broadband for a full month. DO NOT USE THE POST OFFICE FOR ANYTHING!!!!

DO NOT USE. Terrible Download Speeds drops for no reason every 10 minutes despite having a green light on router. Pointless streaming due to how slow it is and extortionate prices for the horrendous service it provides

Post office broadband is a rip off, it is unreliable and dreadfully slow, lucky if we get 2mb on a 16mb contract, if this were a car giving 10 to the gallon and being sold as 50 to the gallon there would be uproar. frequently drops out, takes hours on the phone to report faults, hopeless!!

Was not sure about changing from BT after reading reviews, BT kept increasing prices but the service was good.

I spoke to Post Office about reviews who pointed out that most other providers reviews were just as bad, I decided to give it a go, after all saving over £30.00 a month is very tempting.

After a month I am pleased, the changeover went without a hitch, my BT service shut down in the evening, I plugged the router in next morning signed into WIFI and everything was up and running, a little slow for the first few days.

Checking download speed with speedtest.net shows that I am getting a consistent 15 mbit per second, about half the speed that I had from BT, this however is not noticeable in day to day use.

I think it is a shame that we have to go to the trouble of changing provider to get a good deal, no thought to customer loyalty.

Appalling service. DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. They will only send you the router after 12 day cooling off period has started. Then for you to realise how poor it is, 3 days in to contact start I have asked them when an engineer will come out they have given no solid confirmation on times saying they will call you. Rude customer service after asking to cancel they want £160 which is a years contact near enough. Loosing business earnings due to their awful internet. KEEP CLEAR.

    Terrible service from PO Broadband.
Been with them for 6 weeks.
Was fine for first three weeks then started having problems with router not showing Chromecast as being on network despite chromecast and other devices being connected to internet through the router.
Phoned tech support, first time talked me through some settings, but no solution. Got email from them admitting problems with chromecast and wireless printers.
Second phone call to tech support, guy didn't know what a Chromecast was!
Recommended I contact router manufacturer Zyxel directly for support, tried that but they were uncontactable.
Unbelivable poor service from PO Broadband.

Signed up with post office broadband on the 27.10.18 on 12 month contract. Go live date was 12.11.18 for broadband and phone. Despite 2 phone calls to customer services the router never arrived. Phoned again on 10.11.18 and was told the router had not been sent out yet. I cancelled and went elsewhere. AVOID.

Post office broadband must be the worst broadband provider I have ever been with, it is guaranteed to drop connection at least a dozen times a day, the speed for me is about the same as other service providers I have used (even better than sky at least) . I personally believe that it's not just the line but the maim problem is the routers, I feel that they cannot handle the data transfer and therefore disconnects when it gets overwhelmed. if they sort this problem out I may consider staying with them but if not I will be changing.
my advice would be to shop around and make the post office your last resort...

Mother in law aged 75 got broadband for first time from PO. Told would have broadband speeds of between 9 and 15 Mbps. She bought her first ipad and discovered her speed when using wifi was actually between 0.1 and 0.4, that was when the signal was strong enough to allow her to run a speed test! I spoke to customer services for her and was told she would have to run three speed tests over the course of a day and submit them. She did this and was then told wifi tests were no good as BT will only accept a test from a lap top connected by an Ethernet cable. I called the technical department to advise them she does not own a lap top and was basically told that was not their problem and in any event broadband and wifi were different services and they were not responsible for wifi speeds and people needed to ask the right questions before signing up. Bottom line was they would not do anything but would put me through to customer services who could arrange to compensate her as she was being charged from the 24th her start date even though she did not even receive her modem until the 29th. Held for customer services for almost 30 mins and then hung up. She is contacting another provider tomorrow! Can't give a star rating AVOID

7 Days into my contract thought there would be a cooling down period where you can cancel if your not happy with the service but no apparently you can only cancel for 14 days up to your activation date! which means when you realize how bad there service is your stuck with it for a whole year! they will trick you into a contract by offering you a low monthly rate but is not much good when you realize that your Amazon Fire Stick doesnt work and all they can say is wait 10 days for optimisation of your hub, and can i cancel if i'm still not happy yes of coarse they say as long as you pay us £140!. They have no faith in there service which is why they wont allow you to cancel once you have tried it, how can you tell if your happy if they wont let you try?

Service not fit for purpose. Asked to cancel service and told I would have to wait 15 days. Still waiting 17 days after, had to contact them again and I was told there had been a mis communication and I hadn't been done. There was no mis communication on my part I made it perfectly clear. I now have to pay for another 15 days while they decide to disconnect it. Disgusting service.

This broadband is rediculous I had been on this broadband for 1 year before realising they had put down the wrong address and then they was blaming us for it after we told them lots of times, my neighbour was going crazy, I do not find this funny and they should take responsibility for there actions. I pay £20+ every fortnight and the internet is so slow its not usefull for streaming because it just goes red on the box. I don't recommend this to anybody because I am ashamed to do so it is good for the price but not worth the hassle at all.

Broadband constantly cuts out, showing only a red flashing light. Told to change filter still no improvement. Your lucky if the internet works in a different room to where the router is. When speaking to the customer services team for a second time they told me I had cancelled my account and then changed their story to me changing address, neither is true and when speaking about cancelling my account there was multiple attempts at guilt tripping me into staying. Appalling customer service.

I tried other well known competitors for a 12 month Broadband contract only to be told that I need to pay (up to £100) for an engineer to come out re the phone line and, in one case, came in for a really hard sell in relation to fibre. I rang the Post Office and everything was arranged quickly and easily. No call out- they just swapped the line over- and everything else happened as stated; the router arrived through the post and the service began on the date agreed. I received correspondence throughout and, so far, couldn’t be happier!

Today we have had over 42 drop outs with the modem turning red.
We have been with the post office for over 2 years and have had the engineering people out multiple times. They can't understand what's wrong and post office customer service always blame the filter and say it needs changing (we have a draw full of changed filters) these cost £1 each from any hardware shop.
Our bill started off at £18 a month now it slowly went up monthly and now it's £40-43 a month for a service we don't recieve ontop of the bill we pay subscription charges on Amazon and Netflix and disneylife so we lose out on all when we can't watch them
We are giving our money away and today we have emailed them with a complaint as loyal customers who never missed a payment they either fix this or they permanently cut us off ontop of that the router is not as secure as they make out as there has been network attacks by IP spoofers so have demanded a full investigation if nothing gets done we will take the matter up with the local citizens advice bureau and the ombudsman as it causes stress and arguments in the home when the devices and TV goes off. Customer service seem to be quite understanding and say they wouldn't be happy either but when there's been over 50 calls there going to say anything. If they carry on with a network that doesn't work there going to lose all there customers.
We will either get the router turned off permanently and never get broadband in again or move to sky.
This service is terrible we are basically giving our money away for nothing

Take this advice - Post Office broadband is absolute rubbish. It will not allow you to print via wi-fi don’t bother with it at all. The customer service is shocking and support don’t know what they are talking about. Only got it last Friday and a long complaint when in, not even bothered to answer it. Been told today I will have to pay exit fees. If i’m Charged I will be taking them to court as their product is not fit for purpose.

Their customer service is beyond terrible with excuse after excuse and never their responsibility. If you want ripped off, lied to and 1990's internet speeds they choose P.O.

Terrible service, changed over to Post office for phone and broadband July 18, so far every bill is higher than my previous provider EE, Broad band has been intermittent from day one, the no internet for 2 weeks, everytime I phone up, they're too busy, shocking customer service, they don't have a clue, first blame BT line, then BT blame router, eventually got new router, still not right, I've made over 20 call's, no help. I was told I'd get a discount on my next bill. Never happened. Rubbish, don't be fooled by their cheap deal! £19! Rubbish more like £45++ !

‼️PLEASE READ‼️ I'm with post office at the moment and I'm less than happy with the service. I found out sky were offering to pay up to £100 of your exit fee. I called Post office today to find out how much I'd owe only to find out I could leave for FREE!! So as they have just amended their prices this means you are currently not tied in!
I'm not sure how long this is on for but I called today (5/10/2018)
So if you want to escape this crap broadband DO IT NOW!!

Totally messed up my switch through their own incompetence, leaving me without broadband or phone for 3 days. I work from home and rely on both. I cancelled immediately and they are now trying to bill me a couple of hundred pounds. They will be talking to the Ombudsman shortly and compensating me. If anyone is tempted by their offers; DON'T DO IT!

Despite all the appalling reviews I have seen online, I decided to go with Post Office broadband (ordinary ADSL) because it was a fantastic 12 month deal. I AM SO GLAD I DID! Switching went smoothly and on time. The speed is always in excess of 7MB download and often over 8MB - the supposed upper limit! Previously, no supplier has ever given me more than 6MB. The online account manager is a well designed and functional web site All in all, I am a 100% satisfied customer ...... I will stay with PO as long as they don't excessively increase the charge at the end of my contract ....... I do like haggling and have no worries about switching utility suppliers.
