AVIOD AT ALL COSTS!!!!! This service is the worst you will ever encounter, we had weeks and months of intermitted to no broadband, I had been on to their technical department on many occasions, without any success, to the point I advised them they had not provided a service so I was therefore not paying for something that was not provided, in return, they farmed the account out for collection, don't go near them, paid off the rest of the year owing, nearly £100, moved to sky, I may pay double the price, but no issues, service is constant. I cannot stress enough not to get involved and to deal with these incompetent idiots.

Absolutely awful, seriously avoid avoid avoid. They may be cheap and sometimes cheap can be cheerful, but definately not with the PO broadband service. I spend most of my time switching the box on and off, trying to reboot the connection.

I suspect i have actually had more downtime than uptime in respect of broadband service.

Like many others im furious with the lack of service and like many others i always get told they've checked everything their end and all is ok...really?! Well why does it keep happening and why are you the only service provider that this happens too.

The customer service team are patient and polite i do have to mention this and i don't know how they do it given the amount of calls they must get with complaints from customers.

If you want internet connection - do not use the Post Office as that is not the service you will receive.

I've had internet with several companies (talk talk, plus net, Skype..) but I never had a problem at all. Post Office has been a nightmare. I was promised a minimum of 5mbs but I'm lucky if I get 1.5mbs. Even my Amazon stick can't work on that speed... After 3 engineers coming to my house and about 20 calls - customer services said that everything is ok on their end and they couldn't do anything.... However, still couldn't connect and it was on and off all the time. After phoning twice daily to complain they allow me to go without paying the leaving early fee as a goodwill - however it was cos they couldn't provide service since fist day... Avoid this company...

Have to phone customer service on mobile as you are charged on your landline(!!) albeit I was on their inclusive weekend phone package. Rude and contradicting call handlers. Luckily got out of contract as they put up price mid contract. Have gone back to Sky. Avoid these charlatans at all cost

Haven't had such a poor internet service since the old dial up modem days. Incompetent installation. 3 weeks without internet. Customer Services attempt to pass the blame elsewhere even when you have evidence to the contrary. Can't wait to change providers.

Absolutely horrendous service. Picked the same speed as my previous provider but received under half but before that they sent the wrong equipment so although my service was live. I had to wait 4 days to get it working. When it was that’s when I was receiving the problems. After multiple calls and they done several ‘fixes’ they then told me my line was capped at 6mb speed. Which is a lie because in the past I’ve had upto 74mb speed. Utter disgrace of a service, customer service is friendly if not somewhat useless. I paid the early termination charges a month after my contract started since I couldn’t deal with them anymore. Watching a simple YouTube video would often buffer for 2-5 minutes. Avoid at all costs, completely incompetent.

When it's working, I get good speeds of 10-14Mb, however it drops the internet connection at least 6 times a day, often up to 10. Each time it takes 2-3 minutes to reconnect. The actual DSL link stays up, just the internet (PPP) connection drops, so the line is fine. I suspect it's their low-end Zyxel router, which they've already replaced once to no avail. I had a similar experience with TalkTalk (the same network) previously, which was fixed by an upgraded router. Customer service are OK, but I always get the feeling they don't really know much about the technology theyre' supporting. Whenever I ring them I get the same series of things to try, including testing my WiFi (which is fine), even though I give them a clear description of the problem. They don't seem to be able to understand the difference between WiFi, DSL connection and internet service. I've told them if it doesn't improve in 28 days then I will be cancelling on the basis it's not fit for purpose and they refunded my first month's fee while we work on it.

I am honestly incandescent with rage... I have never ever experienced such poor service or abysmal internet speeds.

Having switched from BT, We received the Post Office router only to find out that it was faulty so had no internet connection for 2 weeks; Engineer came out and confirmed this, ordering a new one.

The connection is now so slow I can barely do a speed test and when I do I average 0.5mbps ; I literally get a faster connection tethering to my mobile phone.
Imagine going back to the days of dialup with freeserve... well I actually think that was better.
In 2019, how the heck is it acceptable to wait for a webpage page to load?

Called Post Office up just now, who basically said it was my own fault for signing up to their everyday value package. Tried to sell me fibre.
However I had already signed up to SKY. He said well you will have to pay £140 to cancel early... I said I'd gladly pay £240 to sever ties with you charlatans.

I wish in hindsight that I had read these reviews and I wholeheartedly echo everything said here.

Please please stay well clear of them and don't be lulled into a false sense of security because of the Post Office brand.

Would give a 0 star review if that were possible.

I shop around for Broadband every year when my contract is up. As a result I have been without 10 different providers since I have owned my own place. Never have I felt the urge to write a review. However the service provided by Post Office Broadband has been HORRENDOUS I feel compelled to right one. The service is so unreliable it has literally caused me to scream at my laptop or phone as the connection goes down twice a day.

The service I had with previous providers hasn't been perfect. But I would say the Post Office connection goes down twice a day on average. This causes problems such as having to wait 10 minutes for the connection to come back. This makes me lose connections to network drives when I work from home and I have to reboot. I have been cut off from conference calls. And online forms I have filled out online have timed out meaning I have to refill them out.

I will never use Post Office Broadband again even if they are by far the cheapest in future.

Only positive was the chap who set up my account over the phone was an extremely friendly chap.

I have had post office broadband for just over a week. How they can offer broadband at such low speeds I don’t know!! I have never had internet like it in my life. I cannot use Netflix and it takes ages to load pages on the laptop/phone. We have a 3 bedroom semi and cannot use WiFi upstairs. It is ridiculous. I called the customer service team and I was told I was getting 2mbps download speed, I have done a speed test every day and the highest I have got is 0.6mbps? The lowest being 0.07mbps! I have agreed to switch to fibre broadband with them with the promise of getting around 30mbps speed! The customer service was good though to be fair and they have put a £75 credit on my account so I won’t have to pay for 3 months. I’m due to switch to fibre in another week so let’s see if that lives up to standard! I do not recommend standard broadband with them at all!!! Avoid

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.The broadband service sometimes only reaches 1-2mbps and this is intermittent..I've been with them only 2 weeks and already I'm finding it hard to get through, they average 20-30 minutes placing you on hold between teams. They are very clear they do not guarantee WiFi only broadband..so if you are standing over the router and your phone or laptop is at 1-2 Mbps then they put u on hold for 30 minutes so they can test..then it's back to 9-10. They state they will not let you cancel unless you pay full 12 months. Anyway..going cheap you get what you pay for..AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This company has actually reduced me to tears. I contacted so many times that they now admitted they blocked my email. They won't take payment over the phone. My internet was so slow that I couldn't even run a speed test. They will not answer my requests regarding my account.
Ofcom should shut them down - it is fraudulent that they claim to offer any kind of boradband service.
    DO NOT GO NEAR THEM

Do not go near this supplier. My broadband should have been working since the 7th August, now 20 August. The customer service is totally useless, you are held on the phone from 25-45 and when you talk to somebody they say will phone you back . then when you demand an engineer to come out & they (engineer) get it to work for 45 mins & you contact them again, they blame BT, your computer, anything to get out of taken responsibility & then they inform you that you cannot cancel the contract as the contract started when you agree to post office computer services, not when they switch on the services

people must remember that this company is not a broadband company, it is a company working as a third party.

As I stated in Facebook & twitter and for selling stamps, but not much

I honestly wish I could leave a zero review. I have just come off from one of the many many calls with postoffice trying to cancel as for 7 months I have had the most terrible experience. In the first 3-4 months I had barely any internet only to call them and they confirm that they had not funny completed the connection. A few months down the line having been struggling to just watch regular Netflix or use wi-fi on my phone without constant buffering or internet dropping....I've basically survived by tethering off my mobile. I call to request cancellation and told that there will be a termination charge unless I do a speed / line test and if it is below 10 Mbps - 17 they will cancel without termination fees. I do the test and get speeds is 1-3mbps. I call to follow-up and provide readings and get cancellation and they then start to deny that it was ever stayed that They would cancel without termination fees. They said they need to send an engineer. I've been promised multiple calls and return calls and nothing happens and yet I continue to be charged monthly for speeds of 1-3. I call again and the level of rudeness I constantly recieve is the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced. One advisor then say they will give me £54 if I stay with post office and upgrade to a more expensive one or otherwise I have to pay the remainder of the 6 months left. How is this fair when they have not provided a functioning service and therefore are in breach of contract. When I bring this up I get ride responses and it's like arguing with a child. I will be cancelling and reporting and resolving this through the ombudsman service as it is evident that they have no intention of helping customer resolve issues or cancel without getting money from it even without providing an actual functioning service. Please do no sign up as if you are trying to find a cheaper alternative it will just end up costing you more money, time, bring stress and it's not worth it.

Just appalling. During contract the speeds are highly variable with periods of it being completely Unusable. Request technical support and the best you can expect are e-mails telling you they've tested your line and everything's fine so they're considering the case closed. Woe betide anyone calling towards the end of the contract and hoping to cancel with some peace of mind that they'll know what Post Office will charge them as early termination charges are pulled out of thin air but they "can't tell you what your final bill is cos it hasn't been produced yet" (And that from the billing department).
Just save yourself the hassle and use a company which knows its backside from its elbow.

I'm not surprised they have reduced their price from 17 to 15 a month...they can afford to, it's the only way they would get customers. I've been with them a year and have spent more time phoning them than actually using my internet. You literally can't do anything on this service.moneys tight in my house but even still I would push to pay the extra because this service has actually affected my work it's so bad

As others have said, review should be no stars!

Came over from Sky on 12th July and have had no broadband for the last 27 days!

Told I would need to to upgrade to fibre which I did but still no connection and informed that 19th August would be my earliest connection date so 39 days before they provide a connection!

I honestly don’t know how they get away with it.

Just switched to PO Broadband. They switched off no old service before 9am yesterday - even though I'd paid for it until today - then failed to connect me at all

They made no attempt to contact me and try to bamboozle with descriptions of internal processes. The customer service manager was unapologetic unskillful and clueless.

Unless they get a grip on their business I would avoid.

Poor reflection on the POST OFFICE brand

I didn’t read the reviews of Post Office broadband before switching to them; if I had, I probably wouldn’t have gone with them. However, my experience hasn’t been too bad. I had to wait over 2 weeks for the service to go live but it did activate on the day it say it would. The router arrived quickly, albeit it looks cheap and doesn’t connect to wireless printers. My line has settled and I can 16ms ping, 11.5mbps download and 0.85mbps upload. The router coverage isn’t great but we manage. I did have to request a new landline number because they gave us a previous company’s number which got spammed 24/7, and this took a 20 minute conversation with somebody who struggled with English. Overall, we’ve done alright for the price but Post Office could still do a lot better.

I’ve been on the ADSL service since November 2018, previously was on TalkTalk (TT). I’d say the customer service is arguably some of the best I’ve seen from an ISP (admittedly quite a low bar) and much better than TT – you can usually get through to the technical support team after only a couple of minutes and they do a much better job of getting an engineer out to you (1-2 working days I found). Also, they actually record the line quality your receiving and their technical personnel can see what’s been going on, so I never had any problem proving my line had issues.

HOWEVER, that’s about the only good thing I can say about the service. In terms of line speed and reliability it was equally as awful as TT. So many engineers came and went, we had new filters, a new socket, new cable, new pairs, new equipment in the exchange.. so much so that I’ve actually developed a fairly decent knowledge of the local internet infrastructure. And if you’re thinking, that’s probably just down to issues in your house/area, consider this, you may be in a similar situation:… a few of the Openreach engineers agreed that there are blackspots for ADSL… if you live a long way from the exchange and from the cabinet then you’re very likely to have the same kind of service (i.e. generally much slower linespeed than advertised and lots of faults on the line, especially after bad weather). For comparison, we live 300m from the cabinet and 1.5km from the exchange (as the eagle flies). More copper cable means more likelihood of faults. Their advice was to switch to a fibre optic service (but even then they qualified that with, it probably won’t be a faultless experience if, like us, you live a long way from the cabinet).

Another issue with PostOffice is that they haven’t signed up for the automatic compensation scheme like BT, EE, Sky and some others. So, as a customer you will have a small fight on your hands to get your monthly bill reduced, whereas you could have received £8/day and without even needing to ask for it. So, for 3 months of lost service on POs ADSL £15.90 line, they will merely credit you with ~£48, but other providers on the scheme would automatically pay ~£720, which might go further towards actually compensating you for all the calls, inconvenience of sitting in all day at home, mobile data costs etc.

Unfortunately it is not possible to give zero stars. Avoid at all costs. I switched broadband as I always do at the end of a term never having had a problem in the 4.5 years I have lived her. I have never had the advertised broadband speed that I was sold of 12mb/s, if I was lucky I got 5! I have been trying to resolve this since April despite engineer visits being told nothing wrong with my broadband, so why cannot I not use my laptop. Multiple phone calls, promises of calls being returned - never believe that! Finally I asked to get out of the contract and was told I would have to pay a termination fee, so I pointed out they were in breach of contract. Eventually I was reassured that I would not be charged the termination fee and I asked for this in writing plus compensation for such a hideous service, but was told it wasn't possible to send this in writing but it would be fine. Lo and behold I have a bill for the termination fee. Cue multiple phone calls and no returned calls as promised and a supervisor will listen to the phone call. I have called again to find out what is happening and the supervisor is waiting to listen to my call. I have referred this to the ombudsman as it is months of wasted time and rubbish internet.
I have a new provider and perfect internet without any drop outs, poor speed etc.
If you want consistent reliable broadband with good customer service, DO NOT use the postoffice!

Unfortunately I did not read reviews before switching from previous broadband supplier to PO., and did not know that their router does not connect to wireless printers which I depend upon. Nor do they mention this anywhere. They also seemed to think this is acceptable and advised me to buy a 3rd party router. The speed is ok most of the time. Do NOT buy PO broadband. My intention to save money has backfired and can’t wait to leave.

Dropped from a perfect 20 Mbps connection with Sky Broadband to an almost unusable 12Mbps connection with Post Office (actually Talk Talk) internet. The internet is almost unusable at peak times, they diconnect you every few seconds in order to free up bandwidth on their oversubscribed network, they steal 30% of your bandwidth up front under the guise of 'digital line management' (less stable than Sky's, who managed to keep the line stable at 20Mbps downstream, not unstable at 12 Mbps.)

Never, ever go with these charlatans. The customer service is unknowledgable and rude, the service is atrocious and the router is a piece of rubbish.

Had all sorts of delays and excuses getting service up and running, but did receive £10 compensation. I've had various isps over a number of years and this is the worst ever. Constantly losing connection to smart TV and having to reset on almost daily basis. Connecting to even basic websites can take forever. Am in process of switching prior to contract ending and anticipate claim for non-completion of contract. Will dispute in court if it comes to it.

Not worth the low price because the appalling connection and surrounding service makes it an utter waste of time. I rarely review but am doing so in the hope I can prevent someone facing the frustration I have gone through since using the Post Office

Still no Internet or incoming calls 3 weeks after go live. Wish we had read the reviews. Just get fobbed of when you ring, and get a new date for go live. They have got until this weekend to sort it. Otherwise will be a cancellimg. Would give 0 star rating

You really do get what you pay for with the post office broadband and that is utter rubbish connection. They also have told me on several occasions they would refund due to the inconveniences and interruptions in connection-they never have nor i expect will they ever.

The connection is down far more often then i have ever experienced with any other network. Next time i'll find a way to raise the extra few pounds because the stress of trying to work and being stopped by a bad connection is worse.
