NOW Broadband deals for existing customers

What to do when your NOW contract ends

If your NOW Broadband contract has passed its end date, you’ll move to rolling monthly terms. These are almost always more expensive.

This is usually the point when NOW will let you:

  • Renew your contract
  • Upgrade to a faster package
  • Switch away with no exit fees

This page helps you understand what you can get as an existing customer and how to secure the best price.

Quick Answers

  • Existing customers usually pay more once their contract ends
  • You may be offered a renewal or an upgrade if you ask
  • Full fibre upgrades are often available and can be cheaper long term
  • Switching to a rival provider often delivers the lowest price
  • You can leave for free once your minimum contract period ends

Can NOW Broadband customers get special deals?

Generally, NOW doesn't offer retention deals to existing customers. The best broadband deals are available to new customers only. This isn’t unusual, and it's the same for all broadband providers.

An expired contract will remain on “rolling” terms and at a higher monthly price until you renew.

Upgrading your NOW broadband package

After a faster package? If you live in an eligible area, NOW Broadband has full fibre options to choose from:

  • NOW Full Fibre 75: 75 Mbps average download speed, 16 Mbps average upload speed
  • NOW Full Fibre 100: 100 Mbps average download speed, 18 Mbps average upload speed
  • NOW Full Fibre 300: 300 Mbps average download speed, 40 Mbps average upload speed.

Upgrading to any of these will give you faster broadband speeds and a more stable connection. Customers moving up from NOW’s Superfast package have most to gain here.

Prices on all these packages are set to rise each year. Those already out of contract could end up paying more on top of these annual price hikes.

Renewal options and what you can ask for

Your broadband service doesn't stop at your contract end date. It continues month-by-month. You’ll pay more, but you can leave without charge at any time.

When your contract is near its end date, NOW will email you about the change in your monthly price. You should also receive deal offers for renewing your contract.

You can usually accept these offers via your NOW online account, but we recommend speaking to the NOW retentions team either by phone or live chat. Negotiating is the best way to get the most attractive deals for signing a new contract.

How to haggle

By quoting offers from rival providers, you might get better prices or TV bundles to persuade you. You can gather this information using Broadband Genie's comparison search.

Switching vs staying with NOW

Advantages Disadvantages
  • You'll be a new customer with a rival provider, eligible for best deals
  • Ultrafast broadband speeds could be available in your area for less
  • Switching away from a service you already know and may trust
  • Losing any TV add-ons (although you can subscribe to NOW TV packages separately alongside a broadband only deal)

NOW full fibre availability

NOW’s full fibre broadband packages are available on the Openreach network. Currently, around 60% of homes can sign up to one of these deals, but availability is growing.

The best way for existing or new customers to check this is with Broadband Genie’s own postcode checker. Here you’ll find NOW Broadband and all provider deals available at your home today.

With full fibre speeds of 75-300 Mbps, NOW broadband offers impressive options. Eligible households can expect enough for on-demand streaming services, gaming and more.

  • What is Full Fibre (FTTP)?

Full Fibre broadband is also known as 'Fibre-To-The-Premises' or 'Fibre-To-The-Property'. Here, providers use fibre optic cables throughout the data journey and into your home.

Slower fibre deals still make use of older cabling, such as copper wires used for home phone landline calls. These aren't as reliable, and aren't as capable when it comes to speed.

Out of contract pricing and price rises

We expect NOW Broadband monthly prices to go up by around £4 next April.

You'll get a warning in advance and the ability to leave for free if you're unhappy with the cost hikes. You then have a choice to renew, upgrade or switch to save money.

Switching to a new provider as a new customer will always bring the best offers. For NOW Broadband customers, this can make the move to Sky Broadband a great choice.

Not only is this a similar broadband service, but it also offers TV channels like Sky Sports and Sky Cinema.

How to get the best price as a NOW customer

  1. Shop around. Use comparison tools and postcode checkers to find available deals.

  2. Consider renewal offers. Is NOW giving you a fair deal to sign a new 24-month contract?

  3. Try negotiating. Speak to customer services about matching rival deals to keep you.

  4. Consider upgrading. Staying and switching up to a full fibre package could improve value.

Looking up broadband availability in your area is always great advice. It keeps you informed of what you could get as a customer, including whether full fibre is now an option.
