Worst. There was an incident when the internet went out and my sis in law called Sky. They - according to our contract- was supposed to send a person out to fix any issues, however in order to qualify for that we had to open up the router and check for issues. So i opened up the router and started explaining what I was saying to the guy and pressing here and there to solve the issue. This is my first source of complaint because not everyone knows how to open up a router. When my sis in law was told to do that she got furious, and was lucky I was able to step in.

The next problem we experienced was now- the winter time. The internet would literally for the whole day go out completely. It's connection is horrible as well. My phone cannot connect to the router either.

My friends in the area in Barking are also experiencing the same issue. For me it seems that it doesn't suit my area, but having looked at the comments here i can see it is an issue with the product itself. Appalling. And i have to wait for my contract to end in April!

From day one the speed and reliability has been shocking even though we were told differently when they drew us in with sweet talk! Even though we complained from the start, we're stuck with Sky or else have to pay an exit fee. They are not prepared to waver this... Not happy

Sky broadband service is very poor and the company is not making any effort to improve it. I bought a new computer thinking my PC was the problem. I later realized the problem was not my PC but very poor sky internet service. All the efforts I have made for sky to sort the very poor service problem have not yielded any significant positive result.

Wow. I can not comment on sky's broadband speed as I'm yet to experience that joy but I will say save yourself the headache save yourself the time most providers are run through the same bloody line so just go with one that provides actual customer, just call the provider you want on a number you find on the internet not the one they give to sale you the product and see if it is possibly to be put through to a human. Let me save you time with sky it is not oh unless you want to message them through Facebook messenger and than repeat yourself a 1000 times and be sent emojis like your talking to your girlfriends and not a business. You've been warned.

Don’t even bother with sky broadband you will be very disappointed and they don’t seem to care to resolve issue. Certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone! Take your money elsewhere.

No good connection and with out my consent, renewing the contract and adding booster package is FRAUD.

I had requested for house move. However along with house move, they renewed my contract for 18 months and also added Sky Broadband Boost package. Neither I asked for this, nor they took my consent, they just renewed and sent me a mail. As I was not expecting a change I didn't go through that mail. This is fraud.

I wouldn’t blame the customer service agents because they try to do their best to help. It’s the company itself that is rubbish. They increase their prices in the middle of the year and instead of reducing their issues, they stop their services completely (like today). Just check the “Down” website to see the reports!! Been paying for 40Mb/s and getting 2Mp/s. Such a joke! Can’t wait for to get out of this contract.

Had problems for months now. After 5 hours constantly trying to get on line I gave up. Download speed 4.8 Mbps upload 1 Mbps. Just sent another email to them saying I'm cancelling contract but not sure who to go with. Tried on line chat on my iPad as I have a SIM card but guess what? Advisors say their computer service to customer details has failed. Firstly they say there's a problem from my master BT plus to my PC then it's problem from BT exchange to my house. No Sky it's your fault.

Broadband constantly has weak signal and often disconnects or gets no connectivity even when wired. BT wireless was better even though not perfect. This is worst broadband connection I have ever had even including the old dial up connections -- which were fast compared to this.

I had just moved to Swansea from Brum and went about getting a Sky broadband connection. What a huge mistake. It took me over 4 months from initial payment to sky actually setting up broadband at my residence. Customer service was appalling - i spent numerous hours - being pushed around various departments to no end. It was humiliating, cost me financially, emotionally, and had to take time off work many times believing that a technician would arrive and did not. If I could provide a lower review, I would. I have lived in west Africa, the Caribbean, Philippines and even there such rubbish was unheard of. Honestly, Sky is the worst provider in our country.

The broadband service is absolutely atrocious! Been with sky since December and was made aware that within the first 10 days of connection that speeds may vary and the connection may be unstable. It is now March and things haven't improved if anything it's worse! My connection keeps dropping on all the devices and I spent the past week not being able to connect to the Internet at all. Now I'm being told that the problem may be environmental and it is probably something in my home that is interfering with the WIFI signal! I've never heard anything so ridiculous. I never had any of these problems with BT! I am one very unhappy and very dissatisfied customer.

After moving house 5 weeks ago and being promised everything under the sun by sky... every single promise has fell through! They blamed the phone line, so they scheduled an engineer (2 weeks waiting) that date came and went of course it was BT fault not sky's finally engineer showed up to 2 days later!!!! Ordered my broadband and now that activation date has also came and went again still no broadband! Phoned and again they have no idea why and I will have to wait a 24hrs until BT openreach let them know what's going on! Sorry but admitting you have no idea and blaming everyone else for your really bad customer service and poor knowledge is ridiculous. Avoid like the plague! 5 weeks of nothing but excuses, lies and being told to wait... wonder if sky would WAIT for their payments?!

I'm currently paying the top rate for my broadband but feel as if I'm not getting what I'm paying for. I'm a online gamer and I get alot of speed up lag. Im told this is due to bad internet stability. When I test my connection online I get 10mb download Max but I pay for fibre. Would love to see a specialist come test my connection. Thinking of changing tbh

    Worst service ever

I signed up for Sky broadband over a year ago and they offered free sky TV at the time. Although i explained that I didn't think I would use the service I was told that they wouldn't charge me for the TV service without informing me beforehand.
12 months later I started to be charged so i decided to cancel my TV and broadband and move to another subscriber.
My broadband was cancelled and moved but they continued to charge me for Sky TV, which I was not using and they admit that I did request the cancellation by email, for 6 months. They have now agreed to stop charging me but will not refund for the 6 months they have already charged me since cancellation.
I've made multiple complaints and they refuse to acknowledge they have done anything wrong, apparently they only accept cancellations over the telephone and you cannot cancel by email or whilst logged into your account (even though there is the provision to cancel your account online they do not accept this as a request for cancellation).
I am truly appalled by the service and the responses I have received. Their staff lack basic knowledge of consumer law. I will never return to this company and have advised all my friends and family to beware of them in future.

I have been a customer with sky on/off for around 14 years(since 2006). They were one of the first providers to take advantage of the LLU which Ofcom forced BT into. At the time they offered the best price for the speed. They provided a decent router(it is still worth a few bob). In those days I had a fairly good experience, I then left for O2, only for them to be brought out by Sky and having to move onto the FTTC service at a very good price back in 2013. I think after 2 years I moved away before returning to them at the backend of 2019. My past experience is was largely very good, they were responsive and the speeds and reliability were good.

The current service I have with them is the upto 80mbps. Speedwise it is pretty poor at the moment, currently synced at 34mbps when the line had been running at 60mbps in the years between 2013 and 2016. Of course this isn't really sky's fault more openreach and most the troubles have started with the rollout of FTTP. Despite the increase in WFH the connection has been OK and not caused me to many issues. I have even come to realise that 30mbps is actually more than enough, if anything upload is way more important to me.
Another positive about sky is the lack of real traffic shaping and traffic control. During a short stint with SSE(daisy networks) I found lots of ports blocked and a range of controls. Nothing of the sort with Sky. While Sync speed to the exchange is an issue, their actual network performs very well, they appear to have lots of capacity on their backbone and I have always achieved download speeds at sync speed(uploading server permitting).

Over the years support has been pretty good to be fair, the call wait times are not too bad compared to other suppliers. In the early days they were reluctant to send out BT engineers when there were faults however in recent years they have been a lot better. For my speed issue, without contacting them they did send an engineer out, by surprise may I add. They did resolve the speed issue at the time however after a few weeks the line has begun to deteriorate again. Nothing has been done as of yet and neither have I contacted them.

I have always been a TV customer with sky therefore I have benefited from very good prices compared to the rest of the market. I found the best deal ever was offered to me by them directly for FTTC back in 2013 at a lower price than ADSL2+ at the time, which was market leading. For the overall service I dont think many suppliers can actually beat them.

The broadband speed in this area is actually very good, but the reliability of the sky connection is terrible. It keeps cutting out, only to resolve the issue about twenty minutes later. Then I manage to watch about three more minutes of the football before it cuts out again. Save yourself the headache and go for a more reliable provider.

I have been with Sky over 2 years and having constant problems with slow speed or dropping out entirely, each time I call customer service who are helpful and try to sort out the problems, including a few visit from engineer. This time, they said I need to replace a router and it's out of warranty so I have to pay £38.95 to replace it. Why do I have to pay for the faulty router? I'm now cancelling the contract with them. I'm left with no internet, going through a cancellation process with Sky and finding a new provider. I should've cancelled it 2 years ago! Really disappointed with Sky!!

Sky are by far the worst I have ever dealt with. I usually don't write reviews but this company were exceptionally bad so I felt I had the need to.
I set up a date with Sky to install my internet, I waited 2 weeks and took the day off work only for them to not show up. I was proactive enough to call them several times before the installation date to confirm they were still coming and each time they said yes. Either they have a terrible system in place or they have very incompetent workers. An hour after they were supposed to arrive I spent 1 hour on the phone only to be told an engineer was never supposed to come out. Taking into account the money I lost from not going into work plus the many phone calls i made to them, I made a very big loss indeed. I decided to go with Talk Talk who have given me a detailed description of when they plan to arrive and what date my router will be here. I will never again go to Sky and I will never recommend this company to anybody.

Speed is always below 1Meg, customer service do not want to know, they say something has changed in the house, this is total rubbish, the speed has dropped over the last couple of years by nearly 1Meg to the point where is is becoming unusable, to download a movie it takes nearly 18 hrs, in this day and age it is total rubbish and i would not recommend.

By far the worst wifi I have ever used in my entire life. The wifi won’t even reach throughout my whole house, it won’t even reach to my room which is less than 10 metres away from the wifi box. I have lost count of the amount of times my household asked customer service for help and to fix the problem, every time they come over and say they’ve fixed it, but actually haven’t because I don’t see a single difference with the poor connection. Would never recommend this broadband to anyone.

Sky FTTP is a joke my ping is worse than my old FTTC line I thought it was supposed to be better than FFTC. It is terrible with SKY. My landline keeps disconnecting the new router resets on its own. They say 55 ping is well within their parameters for FTTP When my FTTC connection was about 20 ping. Steer clear Sky have gone majorly downhill!

Like most others here our wifi drops all the time and Sky won't accept it's their problem and fix it. Also the price has skyrocketed...now close to £100/month for TV, phone and broadband. Sadly Virgin isn't available in our area. If they ever come here we'll be leaving Sky faster than we can click our ruby slippers together! Horrifying lack of service.

When I had a sky broadband contract I was getting a download speed of approx 13mbps and an upload speed of .75...then when my contract was up it dropped to 2/5mbps and upload of .2/.35 ???? strange that! I have noticed in previous years exactly the same would happen. I contacted Sky who said there was a problem on the line and they would send an OpenReach engineer out, I stated clearly that I would not be put automatically into a new contract if they sent someone out. The engineer arrived two days later and proceeded to check the router, phone system and line....guess what? nothing wrong at all, when I told him of my suspicions about Sky dropping the broadband speed to get me into another contract he didn't confirm it but said "you need to be having a word with Sky again"... so all infall the ******** are dropping peoples download speed to get them into another contract!!! I live about half a mile from the exchange so they cannot use that excuse; I am now swapping provider who tested my line and said I would get 76mbps and 28mbps upload...guaranteed 65mbps and 20mbps upload respectively !! I would have given sky 0 in all areas but one star was the minimum, I will never ever use Sky again..too big to fall Eh?.

The internet speed has never been great at my current house. I've lived here all my life, and we must have old cables or something, because no matter the ISP (AOL, BT, Sky), the internet rarely goes up past 1000 kB/s. But we've always had a reliable connection that rarely goes down... until we switched to Sky. Our connection slowed down slightly after the switch and never sped back up again. Now we're capped at around 900 kB/s, with the broadband regularly going down for no reason for around 2 minutes. The downtime periods usually happen at least twice a day making downloading large files (which is an essential part of my work) very difficult. Also, we easily reach our bandwidth limit and get capped at 100 kB/s download, which renders the internet fairly useless and makes doing such simple tasks as watching youtube videos or sending an MP3 file tedious. We've spoken to them about it a few times and nothing is ever done. We're paying for internet that's not worth paying for, and we all cannot wait until our contract is over so we can finally switch to a more reliable ISP.

If you're looking for a reliable, helpful and fast ISP, forget about Sky. Go for BT or Virgin Media.

Where to begin, rude customer service, terrible practices. Ordered broadband and the date for it to work came and went. Rang sky only to be given the usual run around and "were working on it", over a week later still nothing so after 4 phoncalls was told "this was going to be escalated" and would be sorted soon, recieved a call back an hour later where they asked me to carry out all checks my end and that my phoneline doesnt work, it worked fine, to which it was checked and all fine. At this point i asked to speak to management as i was being given the run around.
The irish sky customer service agent then became defensive and began to refuse to give me any information. At this point i asked for his full name to which he became abusive and hung up the phone. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Very very poor. Still no internet and now in the process of cancelling sky already. Such cowboys, please really dont waste your time and effort. Its been an absolute headache and hassle for somthing that hasnt even started yet. Terrible

Awful, honestly is, I wouldn't be here leaving a review otherwise. Where do I even start? Always dipping in connection and fed up with it, this is an understatement as well, I try ring up but get left on hold for ages so what's the point in that? Just overall not happy with this service.
