Stay away from this and spare yourself from a lot of frustration. Internet is completely unpredictable and don't even bother contacting customer service they're no use. Worst internet provider we have ever used and we've tried a few.

Purchasing Post Office Braid Band should come with a Health Warning as their package also provides unnecessary stress, expense and time wasting.
What you need to be aware of is the advertised Brand Band speed is in fact correct - as it is supplied by another provider, so the speed into the property /router is perfectly fine, and that is all The Post Office guarantee
Where it all falls down is the quality of their router. Signals down to 9/10.
The arguments/statements I be given as I patiently tried over months of phoning to have the service satisfactorily rectified:
We only guarantee speed into the property
You can't expect to get a Lamborghini for the price of a Mondeo. What?
From the router, it will depend on the thickness of your walls
It depends how many devices you use - so if you have a laptop, and 2 mobiles i.e. then divide guaranteed speed by 3
I need a new ADSL filter - which I then bought at my expense. No improvement
You have a "rogue router". New router sent, no change
What you need is a range extender, that will put the signal all over your property. But if I haven't got a satisfactory signal from from router what is the point of extending that
After persevering for over 2 months I asked to be released from contract - yes I could at cost of £198 - What?
As I was not unreasonably looking to make mobile calls over Wifi and didn't expect to need to make landline calls, which I now had to and be charged extortionate rates.
I turned off all devices bar my mobile, sat mobile on top of the router, no Wifi call.
Called and asked if it was reasonable for me to expect hat service, at which point they released me without cancellation fee.
Go with anyone else for sanity and service. BT perfect. EE perfect. They have no problem - decent routers.

Post Office employ Customer service workers with MANNERS!!!!! Disgraceful! I'm going to change providers at the first opportunity. Been a customer for nearly 5 years!!!! Treated appallingly.

I subscribed because of the cheap monthly fee. A mistake. The router is alsways slow, it hangs 3 or 4 times a day and no service at all 2 or 3 times a month. Takes me back to the computing of the 1990's. This PO service would have been fine in the days of 8086 processors and Windows 1 but is totally inadequate for today's hardware and software demands.

I hadn't actually signed up for PO Broadband, and having read this I am not going to - I was desperate to leave TalkTalk, no technical problems (fortunately) though I dread to think what it might be like as TT were a nightmare when my elderly mother moved, and also when we changed BB provider from TT at work.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! They keep taking my direct debit on the wrong day and don't rectify it i’ve asked three times. The. Tell me i’ve Never asked. The broadband drops of 20 times per day, they blame everything but their own **** show of a service. I signed up to the 12 months at £15.90. I’m pulling it out as soon as my new sky hub arrives. I have 6 months left to run, i’ll Pay for the two side by side until the contract is up. Never ever again will I use this utter excuse for a service.

Moved to the Post Office from Sky. Wish I'd never moved - internet constantly drops and there is no one available to help.
I've raised multiple tickets and still to this day not even had an acknowledgement that my ticket has been received/assigned.

To be honest I wish I hadn't gone for the cheapest supplier and instead stayed with Sky or another reputable supplier as there is nothing worse than when the product is not working and no one to help you.

AVOID and pay a few £ extra for a proper service!

Staff at the call centres are always really friendly and helpful and I've never had an issue with them whenever I'd call so I cannot fault this - HOWEVER, you get what you pay for.

It's the cheapest internet deal available because it's painfully slow. Mine is £15 a month and I can just about stream something on netflix after waiting ages for it to load. Often the internet cuts out several times a week (that I notice) and shows the red light for a few minutes and apparently this happens when the router resets itself to give you a better connection, this is however incredibly frustrating.
If you want to watch or stream anything, you're best off watching at 360p or under. I struggle to load 480p and don't even attempt 720p/1080p.
You cannot stream something and use your phone to browse facebook or instagram at the same time, You can do one or the other and only ever one thing at a time. Even when you are just using your phone indoors and not using the internet for anything else, apps like this take a ridiculously long time to load.
The upload speed is actually a joke, 20 minutes to upload a single photo post to facebook is my average and I've started just relying on my phones 4G.

You can test your internet connection (upload and download speeds) via google, and even when you do this without using the internet for anything else, Google comes back every time and tells you that your internet speed is all in the red and far below average (AND THIS IS WHEN NOT IN USE FOR ANYTHING ELSE!).

If you want the bare minimum of internet connectivity and don't rely on the internet for anything, this is perfect for you. If you actually want to use the internet, don't go with the post office.

Once my contracts over, I'll definitely be going elsewhere - lesson learned.

AVIOD AT ALL COSTS!!!!! This service is the worst you will ever encounter, we had weeks and months of intermitted to no broadband, I had been on to their technical department on many occasions, without any success, to the point I advised them they had not provided a service so I was therefore not paying for something that was not provided, in return, they farmed the account out for collection, don't go near them, paid off the rest of the year owing, nearly £100, moved to sky, I may pay double the price, but no issues, service is constant. I cannot stress enough not to get involved and to deal with these incompetent idiots.

I have already left a review but unfortunately I have had to contact these people again today. I was dreading it. Well here's the good news. I put down my mobile as the best contact and they phoned me not on my mobile but on my landline (pure fluke I was in) then I got put on hold as they couldn't actually do it due to technical difficulties surprise, surprise. I finally got through myself (as usual hanging on and on and on and I was told it was £37 to keep my old number (moving a few miles down the road) and then they told me that my current 'cheap' contract becomes null and void as I am moving and I would have to renegotiate a new one surprise, surprise. I opted to take a 12 month one at £4 a month extra so I could get away from these parasites ASAP. Now for the bad news (as above :-(

    MOVING THE ACCOUNT BETWEEN ADDRESSES

    * 12hrs and rising over 10+ calls trying to sort issues out
    * 2 callbacks promised and not made
    * 7 dates given for go live - all missed
    * Order is now 6 weeks late and not fulfilled
    * 6 weeks without service and they wont offer any compensation for loss of service and earnings

Post office have provided hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever witnessed. They have missed callbacks, missed service delivery dates, always say the matter will be updated tomorrow (literally every time we call) and continually blamed the matter on BT Open Reach (I am an IT Engineer and sat with the engineer who talked me through & verified everything). Wont let me cancel as the order is still in process but cant give a time for delivery (and will be forver at this rate).

    Avoid like the plague.

So many negative reviews on here!!
I joined 5 months ago and have had no problems. So many people don't understand how broadband works saying slow speeds etc! Its BT openreach who cap speeds, if you're on the talktalk technology you will have better speeds as it's new. same speeds as talktalk, sky, plusnet etc it's all the same network!

Customer service is good, could be better, it's cheap, reliable, and pleased with how much it costs me. Can't complain! :)

Terrible internet provider - I do not rate them AT all. Customer service is appalling; lack of communication, incompetency and some of their staff really help to make you feel stupid. The internet drops out quite constantly and is slow. If you don’t plan to stream or use your internet for anything other than a quick Google once in a while, then it’ll be fine. Else you’ll end up trying to cancel, being told that’s all fine and still being charged £30 for the privilege of having Internet you don’t want. Really disappointed service and will wholeheartedly avoid in the future. I suggest you all do too.

Months of horror. Turns out despite checking before hand that infact an IP stream was only available so after taking my money, which I am still trying to get back, I could only get 0.3 Mbps . Disorganised customer service, endless waiting, line going dead, complaints just in a circle of nothing and no conclusions. Can't complain enough.....dreadful from being to end and still out of pocket. Don't touch the post office, even my parents are out of pocket and very upset....worst company to deal with probably in this country

If you are thinking of taking out broadband with the Post Office, please think again. I don't often post reviews but given the appalling service I have received, I wanted to make sure others don't make the same mistake!
I moved house recently, so needed to transfer my broadband over to my new address. A simple task made difficult due to the archaic computer system that insists you phone up twice; once to cancel the contract and a second time to actually start a new contract at your new address. Apparently it can't cope with making more than one change to your account!
They insist on you taking out a new contract and in my case a more expensive one!
Once moved, I had to phone again to ensure things had all moved over. Unfortunately, there seemed to be some problems and I ended up phoning every day for a week to try and get it resolved and for my broadband to be moved. I sent countless emails their customer service with no reply, and nobody seemed to be able to actually tell me how much my new contract would cost.
Once I did have the service, it was dreadful. If you try and watch catch up TV the connection drops out, the internet is hit and miss and you have long periods of no service at all.
I contacted the customer service and was told that unless it dropped below 1.8mbps they did not log it as an issue. Also they recommended using the ethernet cable if I wanted to connect to the internet rather than wifi.
So, I am paying £23.00 per month for very little service. I can't watch catch up TV, the internet is almost unusable and the phone line crackles. If I terminate the contract I have to pay £250.
If I could give zero stars I would, because they don't even deserve one.

We transferred to P.O. broadband because of Sky price increase, worst decision ever, we got phone line on 10 Nov. and were kept waiting for broadband till 7th Dec, getting download speed of .89. We made constant calls to customer/technical services, and never resolved. In all honesty they should not be operating a BB service, not fit for purpose, so we have now gone back to sky, although we cancelled in the 14 days, just waiting for them to try and charge us for early exit!!

I don't know what's happened to the Post Office, but I certainly would recommend AGAINST choosing them in future. Initially, 2 years ago, I dealt with mostly good Call Centre staff, (excluding their insistence on paying by DD, which I refused, having already been paying by S/Order instead, perfectly efficiently).
Over the last 6m-1yr, my internet speed, accessibility and freezing has become progressively worse, to the extent that I have lost very important work, missed priority deadlines and been unable to access valid pages when necessary.
The latter response of their Call Centre has been "change the white 'adaptor' socket lead", "unscrew the wall socket and plug into the socket inside" (which also happens to reveal bare wires in doing this), "run the speed test websites yourself" (despite not having internet access), "borrow someone else's pc/laptop" and "if we have to send an Engineer out, it will cost you £140"! (This doesn't count the times they tell you to do the standard reboots, checking of leads, turning power off, unplugging and putting your pen in the hole in the back of the router... ). I have still been left with no access, have had to pay to visit local Internet Cafe, missed deadlines for online payments and applications, (NEVER received an apology,) nor received replies to numerous e-mail queries when fed up of calling "Support". Think they must have moved Call Centre overseas as nowadays there is a distinct lack of communication too! I shall now, reluctantly, have to seek phone and broadband elsewhere.

Got notified November my contract was due to expire so I called to renew my contract, I refuse to pay £30 for broadband that’s so slow so I go with then £17, it’s now gone up to £18. I get my bill through this morning 30 flippin quid, so I call them tell them to get their s*** together and sort it out I get told I have to pay the 30, no I don’t have to pay 30 I’m contracted at 18, you’re in breach of contract so I cancelled d/d you’ll be paid over the phone when my bill is due. Twice I called about my contract before December. Keep it up and I’ll switch provider. Get your s*** together and get it sorted before I do you for breach of contract. Since the switch from PO to shell my bill is always wrong. I’m an fed up with being told I have to pay the wrong amount when my contract say otherwise. Most people are on tight budgets I’m one of them so sort it. You will be contacted by a solicitor for breach of contract. Get your incompetent staff sorted!!!

I had Post Office BB for 1 year and went for it because it was the cheapest deal at the time. The old adage 'you get what you pay for ' could not be truer. During the time I paid for this service I was NEVER able to use my smart TV functions and get catch up TV because the speed was so slow and all I experienced was buffering. I called PO technical department on numerous occaisions and each time after conducting 'tests' they told me they had fixed the problem. They even sent me a new router and again claimed to have fixed the problem and closed my case. The problem was never sorted and I was never able to use the services I had paid for. As soon as my contract was up I switched to BT and from day one I had a full uninterupted service and am now able to use all of my catchup and BT Sport services without any problems whatsoever. DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY THE CHEAPER PRICE; it's not worth it , total waste of money, time and effort!

As a broadband provider, utterly shocking. I'd seriously recommend to avoid. One android device is all it can cope with before a meltdown occurs. This was recommended to me and I'd never recommend to even my
Worst enemy. I do understand that the post office is trying to diversify to keep up with modern demand, but reading other reviews and based on my own experience, you've got it royally wrong here

They do not respond at all and there is no online account management. If you want to pay your bill you have to phone them. Archaic and outdated service. Avoid at all costs

Don’t use this company. I don’t recommend to anyone. The worst broadband ever I have used.
I don’t have signal when I am moving from one room to another room. When I called them they said we don’t support WiFi we cannot do anything about it . I knew that it is a technical problem with the condition and the socket but they don’t want to send an engineer because it cost them money and they don’t want to resolve the issues. I am very angry they taken my money every month but they don’t want to fix the issues and I cannot cancel my contract because they will charge me I have to put up with my issues till my contact is finished.DONOT USE THIS COMPANY

Post Office Broadband rides on the TalkTalk network, so is privy to exactly the same problems as TalkTalk. Namely in my case its habit of dropping the connection *at least* once a day. As a person who streams almost all my media, this is very frustrating.
I'll be switching again when the contract is up.
TBH my speeds aren't too bad--they have run slow on occasion, but it's rare--and I've never had much reason to contact customer services, but their website kinda stinks when compared to something like SKY's app.

I am appalled by Post Office's service. Phoned them 2 wks ago as I was moving and their broadband looked like a good deal and when I told them the importance of broadband for my work, they reassured me that it would be fine. I explained it was a new build property and they said that wouldn't be a problem. Router arrived swiftly, and text msg arrived yday to say engineer would be there between 8-1 and make sure someone was in the property - my dad travelled 120 miles to make sure someone was there. Today, no engineer arrives, I phone and I am told that there is a delay because it is a new build property. 1) they already knew this, 2) they texted yday to let me know and engineer was coming, what changed. I was then met with rude, abrasive service with no answers/explanations and certainly no responsibility or apology. Swiftly cancelled my order!

I only gave them 1 star because incouldn’t give them any less.
My broadband isn’t even connected yet even though it was supposed to be live 3 days ago. And now I’m being told I cant cancel because I need to give them 30 days to repair the fault.
Don’t understand how it’s possible to have a fault on something i don’t have! I’ve spoken with at least 6 different people about it and never had an consistency in their reply’s. It appears as if they make it up as they go along. I was cut off on numerous occasions and even after giving them 2 contact numbers and given assurances Thai if we got cut off then I would be called straight back, yep you guessed it I’m still waiting. I will be getting out of this contract as quickly as I can and if your considering joining the PO DON’T. I would run as far away as I could to avoid it. Bad, bad, bad,
I just wish I’d read the reviews before agreeing the years contract

I was a customer for a number of years before switching to Virgin. We were unaware there was anything wrong until we started getting letters from debt collection agencies. The post office are unable to send us a final bill and have written the debt off except they haven't. Every 12 months it's a new debt collection agency and customer services are incapable of doing anything about it.

Awful. Couldn’t wait to leave. Kept dropping out, slow and unreliable. Hard to leave contract. Didn’t get promised vouchers from the sign up. Overall the worst consumer experience I’ve had in a very long time.

What can I say that hasn't been said by others, basically my partner signed us up with PO because it was the cheapest, but there is a reason for this, pity hadn't seen the reviews before! Since 'go live' (or should I say go dead) on 5 April, the broadband has not worked more than it has worked and even when it does work it is soooo slow, more like old dial up. Is the worst broadband 'provider' ever!!! Customer service was quick to answer but have not fixed problem. Ran line test and said all ok. Said an engineer would come out on one of two days (today Monday or tomorrow) but on Sunday I got a call to see how broadband was now. It was actually working ok for once so I stupidly thought it was fixed. Customer service said an engineer had checked it but found no problems (I now wonder if anyone has actually been out as I was previously told they may need to come into the house and they had no appointments until Monday). I was told by customer services that the problems could be due to the wind - never heard that before - and that if it reoccurs call back and they will get an engineer out to the house (which is why I think no one has checked it and they just don't want to get engineers out!) Anyway Sunday night, 10pm no boadband again, gave up trying to connect after an hour. And this morning patchy and keeps saying no internet. I really wish had not left Sky (they wanted to put prices up) never had any problems with them. I don't think the problem with PO is in the house, in the street or anywhere else, but is basically the PO - they can't provide a reliable, stable broadband connection. Do not sign up with them or touch with a barge-pole, unless you want constant disconnection and slow service!! Is not fit for service!! Have had to save this to copy and paste as keep losing connection to post review! Will have to just use my mobile data to tether (wish I could invoice PO for this!) as no broadband at all!! Help, I can't put up with a year of this!!

Hi, my partner signed us up to the Post Office b/b a month or so ago and since its gone live on 5 April we have had no bb each day - it constantly disconnects or drops to unusable speeds. I would like to move but we are tied into a 12 month contract with a service not fit for purpose (I am using my mobile data to tether and is almost used up!) Is there any deals we can do with BT to swap (someone said that BT will pay to move customers from other suppliers?) Thanks.
