Been with Virgin Fibre for 6 years and had no issues until the start of April. My broadband cuts out about 40 times per day and is unusable. Virgin have given me a fault code and initially said that it would be fixed on the 8th June. They then changed this to the 9th July, 19th July and now the 19th August. Will not fully compensate as they say it is not a 'total loss of service'. Thankfully not in contract with them any more so I will be switching. I would honestly go back to dial up internet rather than use these absolute bunch of jokers!

When it works, it's okay - but when something goes wrong, the customer service is extremely poor. Faulty email now for 11 days and no idea when or if they will fix it. It's frustrating and is damaging my business. There is no sign that Virgin care or that they are taking action to put it right. This isn't just me; there are many of us who have not been able to get at our email attachments since 3 April 2015. Cynical and uncaring behaviour, Virgin and Mr Branson.

Virgin Media don't deserve even 1 star. It took me over two month to get through to customer services about my package. So I cancelled it as they charged me double than that of my agreed package for three months.

Worst customer services in the UK. 5 separate calls to cancel service after moving, each call 30-50 minutes on hold, every call cut off. Online member centre link to cancel service not working so you have no choice but to call. If you sign up to Virgin you will regret it, the only question is when.

I'm trying to review my package but have paid direct debit for 5 years and don't have my account number anymore or password. I cannot get passed these questions!I have never been sent an online bill as suggested. What happened to the 'pop-up customer service guide' that you could chat to? I know that I could call but I don't want to be co-erced into a new deal x

Worst service ever... It's not even a service.30 quid and the internet goes off everyday for few hours.
The customer ' service ' absolute ridiculous... once they even tried to scam me for asking my bank details date of birth AND THE CCV SECURITY PASSWORD. Million times reported to them about the problems zero action .

    STAY AWAY FROM THEM .

Moving into a house at uni last september I decided to look for a deal I could afford, and came across this Virgin Media student deal at £20 per month for 9 months which I thought was perfect as I didn't really want a 12 month contract, plus shared between my housemates I'd only end up paying £45 for the whole 9 months. On top of this, the installation and router were free, so brilliant, saving myself around £80 (I even have a printout that states installation and router were free).

So after a couple of months I receive an e-mail saying that I need to pay £100, and when I look into it they are asking me to pay for the installation and router.
I say to them that the reason I went with you on this offer was because it was so reasonable being £20 p/m and free installation etc, but when they looked into it they had "no history of this deal".
They have still not given me back this money and are denying that this was ever in the offer, even though I have evidence that that was what I was paying for! >:(

Internet down in our area for 3 hours from noon today. Virgin knew it would be happening at 8:30 this morning but failed to inform customers. Poor customer service Virgin, would an email to all affected users been so difficult?

Awful customer service. Price for TV service just goes up and up every year, yet we lose the TV service regularly, no explanation provided to us, and no refund offered! If you call them it will take you 10 minutes to get through to someone human and they are rude and unhelpful. They almost seem to play games with you on the phone so you run out of credit and go away. Awful, avoid this company.

In our area its the highest speed available but when it comes to issues with internet or renewing/cancelling the contract then VM does not want to speak to you or call back to discuss. I have tried on different days and times to speak to VM waiting up to 48mins but not had any luck. as a last option will cancel my direct debit.

If I could give zero stars I would. Intermittent broadband. Engineer always #on their way#. It's been bad for seven weeks now. Numerous calls to customer service, who just fob me off. Won't let me out of my contract even though they are not providing a reliable service. I really really really HATE Virgin. I have going to pursue my complaint to CISAS the broadband ombudsman who deal with Virgin.

I wish I could give them less than 1. We have recently moved house and went to Virgin to get an internet connection. They explained that it will get time, as they need to check whether our house is serviced or not. We had an engineer's meeting arranged in a week's time. On the actual day this person went to completely different address in different town (3 hours away from where we live). After we went to Virgin to re-arrange the engineer's visit they said that our house is not serviced so there is nothing they could do. In a couple of days we have received a new tenant letter saying "welcome to the new property. It is serviced by Virgin and we would like to offer our internet for you". Was it some kind of a joke from the company? Btw there is a Virgin box on the house servicing neighbors. No idea how these idiots work, but glad we are not with them and not paying them

I'll be leaving Virgin due to their poor service. In Northampton they appear to offer the fastest connections but the connection is not reliable and drops often.

Currently only one device is connected to the signal, my phone and smart thermostat cannot connect. Virgin state that because of the holidays more people are at home and using the internet so there is a bottleneck. So effectively they cannot provide a reliable connection if it's busy!

Will probably switch to PlusNet but will check recent reviews first. It's clear from Virgin Media reviews that most seem unhappy with recent service.

like many other people, when you ring up a major company you expect to be waiting on hold for a million hours only to become irate at the customer service attendant on the other end of the line. but to my surprise this experience was a good one. i was ringing virgin media on behalf of my dad as he was paying ridiculous amounts of money for the most bog standard package and had been doing so since 2007!! i was jubious when customer service said they would see what they could do and ring me back, i expected to be waiting for hours but within 5 minutes i received the call. i was greeted by the friendliest lady (cant remember her name....sam or maybe sarah) and my package was upgraded with the cost lowered and the whole thing was done in about 20 minutes. i couldn't of faulted them. great team and a great service.

I've been a customer of virgin for many years, I was told my broadband speed was 100mps and was paying accordingly, in reality it was less than 10mps and they either didn't want to do anything about it or didn't know what to do, not only that, it kept dropping out and I was without broadband 3 times last year with it taking their engineer on average 3 days to attend! I was also fed up with having to ring them to challenge their annual 12 - 15% price increases until last year when they tried to impose price rises 5 times, that's when I dumped them and went back to Sky, within a week, they offered me £480 off annual charges if I went back to them, too late Virgin, you had your chance and you blew it because of your poor service and greed!!

Suggested alternatives; SKY, BT and Plus net

Because of how they’ve treated me and affected my life. I will never buy or use ANY virgin product. Sounds serious right? Read more ....

Virgin media tried to charge myself and flat mate a £250+ termination of contract fee despite the new homes we were moving into not being able to be supplied by them, if this wasn’t bad enough (after a lot of complaining still had to pay this) I have been given a default notice on my credit file, this has really affected my life as I can no longer get credit or loans (for 6 years) which I have needed due to unfortunate circumstances. I have suffered depression as a result of this and I can only blame virgin and their lack of compassion and customer service with regards to anything.

All of the management of this company need to take a real good look at who they represent as this is by far the worst company I’ll ever have the displeasure of dealing with

I hope you take heed to my review and avoid Virgin Media and it’s subsidaries

Warning all potential new customers to look elsewhere if you rely on your internet and appreciate good customer service. Let down too many times. Left without internet 3 times in last few months (one instance was up to 5 days) and just had a letter to advise services will be down again in November. Virgin promised to pay for my extra data bought, I did tell them this wouldn't happen. (it didn't) No call back as promised so I called them. 53 mins later I got credit with the internet down time only, not one penny more for good will gesture. I asked the man on the phone how much the call would be, he said not much, I got my bill and the call cost me £32 No wonder Virgin dont call you back when they promise. Since then Virgin promised to call me within 48 hrs, still no call back. Oh well the poorer stay poor and get punished while the rich get richer, nice one Branson (still love you)

Do not supply the speed they sell, not matter what they tell you or try to fix.
Hidden charges, they will state free set up, and then add an activation fee of £25.
The SD picture is the worse quality you will ever see on any provider, this is a ploy to get you to upgrade to HD at extra cost. I am 2 months into the contract and its the worse move I ever made, there customer service is shocking, waste of time contacting them. 10 months to go back to SKYQ.

on their website they happily say 'you can go up or down' when you have too much data or too little. This isn't true. You can go up when it suits them and they may offer you to go down but only by changing contract which is hassle and not easy like they say. Yet they have changed mid contract without making it clear to me that they were doing that. They are nice on the phone but don't solve anything really. It's a shame because the actual coverage is good and when you do sort out the problems it works. But they don't sort problems to suit the customer, only to suit their computer systems and therefore lose custom. But I don't think they care because they are only interested in big contracts.

Absolute worst experience with Virgin. I am counting down the days until our contract ends. Broadband is awful and the customer service is even worse. Cannot come to a conclusion without being put through to 3 or 4 separate people who have no idea who to help.

From the start of my contract I haven’t got the service as advertised. I rang customer service ten times and I was promised a £99 credit as advertised on their site. They didn’t do this and I had to contact my ombudsman. Horrific customer service. They still kept taking money from my account. Would not go with them if you paid me.

As with other comments made, I strongly recommend, DO NOT GET A VIRGIN MEDIA CONTRACT. They make promises they do not keep. We where told we could ask for up to three free plug in boosters to help with reaching all rooms in our bungalow with a strong WiFi connection then on asking for them we were told it would be an extra £5 per booster per month !!!!! Then when you try to complain you get someone from Asia telling you I don’t no what…. The only problem is who do you go to instead, they are all the bloody same.

Terrible. Service doesn’t reach the full house and does not work at all in one of the rooms, which unfortunately is the study, where the computer is deemed basically unusable due to not being able to connect to wifi. Stay away from Virgin Media.

Great connection speed... in the rooms adjacent to the room with the router. Anywhere else we don't get even close to the speed we're paying for, and on some devices the internet randolmy falls off for a few seconds. Customer service is abysmal - almost embarassing. o help is offered for any of the problems. Ordered a powerline adapter directly from them about 2 weeks ago, they said it would be here in 3-5 days and it's still not here. Any attempt made to contact them is ignored.

I have been with virgin media for over 10 years now, in the space of them 10 years I have had to get a leats 15 new internet boxes, one of the boxes even blew up on it self. To starts of the internet speed is so crap how can use keep us on 20mg for over 10 years a long term customer. For new customers that join use they get better deals than me. I'm paying near 30 a month for the worst connection ever to even make it worst it nocks me offline every half hour and takes about 6 hours to work again? So that's how I feel about virgin media!

Speed is good when it works.

I have no internet way too often. When working from home during this pandemic it doesn't help at all when the internet cuts off during meetings or first thing in the morning when I am trying to log on and work.

Finally had enough with virgin media will leave once my contract is up.

In addition to that the customer service from them is the worst i have ever experienced.

Worst customer service ever. Problems with my parents phone line and broadband. They are in their 90s and have a careline alarm which is attached to the phone line. Constantly experiencing lost connection which means alarm doesn't work. They say they have not identified any problems on phonelune or network. Been pushed from pillar to post. Booked an engineer but was then told no engineer booked. Couldn't speak to anyone in authority only offered a call back. Not good enough with vulnerable people. Moving parents to another supplier. Fast speeds only any good if it works.

Stay well away from virgin at the minute. Problems ain't the word, now I've been with them for years (no bt)and I've had problems for over 2 years, I was on 10mb then 30mb to fix a problem with no joy.then went up to 60mb to try and fix it now on 152mb. Just to let you know if you do upgrade to 152mb don't expect to receive that speed, only ever get around 10 to 60mb.one more thing when you ring them .GOOD LUCK with that one. Get another provider. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON VIRGIN. I phone them twice a week with no joy in fixing my Internet. Hurry up BT and get in my area .

I have been a Virgin Media Broadband customer for several years, however problems always keep happening. Initially, we was told that there is maintenance work going on which last a year and half and to compensate they gave us discount on our monthly payment to them. Then finally internet was doing good but till recently on my wireless I am not even getting 1mb, the speed is like 0.7mb and I am literally just a thin wall away from the hub. I called Virgin Media, they ran several tests which proved unsuccessful as they blamed the insulation in the wall which is completely untrue. So then the next blame went to somebody in area installing other devices which is interfering with mine and therefore there is nothing they can do. They were also happy with me getting less than 1mb wireless internet as they said I am not paying for wireless, I am paying only for the wired connection and wireless is an added bonus with no connection speed guarantees which means even if your wireless speed is 0, that is considered satisfactory for them. I would have thought a broadband company would at least aim to provide basic wireless speed to just browse internet or watch few videos, but that isn't the case with them. Furthermore, they recommended I should buy another Router that is more powerful as the one they provide is not satisfactory for providing the relevant wireless speeds needed. So now I have to spend an extra £100 of my own money to compensate for their rubbish Super Hubs as well as pay them full price for their unhelpful services.

We tried VM for just 2 weeks then cancelled !! (14 day right to cancel terms). We wanted to run it in parallel to our BT service to see if it was at least as good as BT. Right from the start it was not promising - the poor guy turned up to install and the street team had not pulled through the cable or informed him - this delayed things by 3 weeks. The wireless router was not good enough - could not reach all rooms in our small house (a call center agent suggested leaving doors and windows open!!). They tried to flog us a booster kit - but I had to argue they could not charge us extra to get a basic service working. The long and short of this sorry tale is that I spent a lot of time (and got quite frustrated and stressed) on a merry go round of calls to call centres in geographically different places and always seemed to have to start again from scratch ("how can I help you today"?) and teams often contradicted each other of denied something agreed previously had happened. On at least one occasion I was pretty much lied to - to get us to stay beyond the 14 days.
Anyway, the booster never turned up, so we pulled the plug (figuratively and literally).
