TalkTalk accidentally cut off our broadband after they updated our contract.They admitted their mistake. Six weeks later,42 different customer service workers, numerous nationalities, all mannerly who promise you the earth. Unfortunately most of it was made up as they were going along . No two people had the same story even though it was on their screens. After 7 weeks of no TalkTalk broadband i'm back with BT.To add insult to injury they are trying to fine me £138.67 for breaking a contract.........Im sorry but as they cut me off [by accident] Did they not break the contract??? I've tried my best to resolve this , spent hours on the phone talking to mis informed third world country call centres, and listening to 'on hold loop music'. Talk Talk should be ashamed of their customer service. Cheap customer service =no service!!!!

It's a pity you have to put any rating to get on here. They don't deserve any. I am not a racist, and this is not a racist comment. But why would someone sitting in India care what someone in the UK thinks about them. The most unless bunch of miss fits I have had the misfortune to cross paths with. Internet been none existent from day one. The joys of waiting 50 minutes to chat to someone on your mobile network, to then be told , " I am passing you on please wait" and that's it, no can I pass you on, just wackenhut you are now in another question. I suppose their thinking is " This will get a few to hang up" They fail to fix problem and then tell you even though you have paid 2 months for no service, you have to give us 30 notice and pay us another months money. I go on chat under partners name, as it's done in her name. On one occasion I had one of them hitting on me.
If you are reading reviews because you are thinking about joining talktalk. Run away, they are conveniently just taking your money and giving you nothing in return. They seem to be spending our money on sponsoring x factor. I can see why, their craft to. Run away

Shocking beyond bad, service drops out, slow internet speed unable to stream programs shocking customer service, online chat is a joke, card payment system dosnt work had to pay by post. Will never use them again!

Awful, stay clear of this company. Customer service is rubbish, Internet service is rubbish, television service and connection is rubbish. I really regret leaving Sky! Terrible, don't even consider talk talk.

I live 2 miles from the street box which has fibre running to it in a rural location. My broadband download spead is approx 0.5mb. I have phoned talk talk on at least 4 occasions on the dreadful broadband speed I have. Research shows that dial up modem is faster in my area!

Yesterday I wasted 1 1/2 hrs of my life whilst TALkTALK again tested the line, had me unscrew sockets, listed to silence...and then tell me they can find no fault! I should be getting at least 3mb in my area.

Talking to both SKY and BT they both promise 4-8 mb!! They say it is the TALKTALK equipment in the box which is the reason my broadband so slow.

...have no option now but to change. Dreadful service from TALKTALK.

Anyone knows how to deal with such a crap issue: We have opened our Internent account with Talk Talk, and frist time arranged engineer to come in for installation in March 8th, however due to our schedule we can not make it that day, so we tried to re-arrange before March 8th, and been told by one of their customer service that we dont need an engineer, we asked: really and the lady said yes, no need. So we trust her, but when we moved in at 15th of March, we found a letter said engineer missed out us, then we realised that we do need an egineer as expected, so we tried again to re-arrange the time for the enginerr coming, the engineer came at 29th, which is quite late... but fine, as long as our internet could be sort out, hoewever, just while the engineer finishing his installation we got an E-mail from Talk Talk said that our account has been cancelled by the system automatically due to there is no fibre service in our area, we were so confused, and asked how could this happen, if there is no fibre why when we set the contract we have not been told, and even the egineer feel confused, if there is no fibre service, why send him here. so we have been told we will get a call by Monday, which atucally is Tuesday (today 05/04/2016) and they called us just say becuase our account is not active, we are invalid clients, they will not take care of us anymore!!!!!!!!!!!! We have wasted lots of time, and without internent, our life and work has been affected badly.... and now TALK TALK just behave like this with no responsibility, just wondering, what should we do??? How can we sue this horrible company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got broadband from TalkTalk and thr speed of it was atrocious. When using my phone I actually had to turn my wifi off and use my 4G to send videos. If I even breathed on the router it would go into a tizzy. I did a broadband speed test one night and got 620kps.
They say they are the only company that doesn't give you a price hike and that your price will not rise the whole time you are in contract. I was paying £20 and my last bill was £20.18. I know 18p isn't a lot but it's the principle.
My contract was due to expire and I have lost a lot of hair from tearing it out with frustration trying to notify them that I did not want to renew. Such a palava! Their customer service is shocking. When I said I did not want to renew and wouldn't give them a reason, why should I? I mean, I didn't want their broadband. That's reason enough. Because this mustn't have been an acceptable answer I was continuously put on hold and then told that surely there were other people in my household that wanted broadband? I explained I lived alone. I was put on hold and then asked was I moving house? And did the new tenants want broadband? At this stage I was seriously at risk of fracturing my teeth from clenching them so hard. When I finally got them to accept I was leaving I was read out the terms and conditions and told I would have to pay an early termination charge to which I explained that I wasn't terminating early, I was simply not renewing. How could they not comprehend this?
After receiving a letter and an email from them giving me a really good deal on faster fibre broadband which I didn't have because they didn't want me to leave I rang up to enquire. Better the devil you know eh?
I was told... Wait for it... To ring back in two to three months as there was an outstanding balance on my account. I explained I am still in contract, it expired on 20th March, I have never missed a payment and what was this phantom balance? She told me she could not tell me and was unable to offer me a new broadband package.
This company sucks big time. Their letters contradict their actions and no-one seems to have a clue when you ring. Their broadband speeds are useless and they had the cheek to send me an email telling me to return my router and all the wiring etc. to them when finished. I shall... In pieces.

Where to start... For the last year or so I couldn't fault them, Internet wasn't the fastest but being only broadband not fibre optic I wasn't expecting ultra fast got some good offers from other big names but as a loyal talk talk customer they gave me a price and an offer I would be stupid to refuse.. Or so I thought, as soon as I renewed my contract, the price we agreed on due to me leaving was lies, my other half rang them 2ce for over an hour of being passed back and forth due to changing direct debit from hers to my account they apologised for the slow speed and for the mix up they would wipe the "late" charge for the payment and refund the money we overpayed, a month later we have an automated call saying we haven't payed, rang again today and according to the system they have no direct debit details for us therefore they will charge us £10 for non payment and 2.50 for not having a dd set-up.. After the missus got passed to 4 people only one English person the rest very hard to understand, after telling each one she wants to leave we are left with a £30 cancellation fee and 2 months of poor broadband to pay for.. Along with charges they refused to wipe even though we set up a direct debit but could not find it on their systems! If you like being shafted the talktalk is definitely for you!

To cut a long story story stay away and go with BT. Awful all there customer service staff speak off a script. Cannot understand them they made prices up and LIE over the phone. Useless! only thing re motley good was the broadband speed was better then they said. STAY AWAY!

rarely get over 0.28meg speed - cannot stream on demand tv or youtube
and every two months they call to sell me more products and service - which I dont want and which makes them more expensive than BT - and they are telling me that they can extend my contract every time they call - which I repeatedly tell them I dont want it extended - in fact if I could get out now I would!! It's a crap service and I believe I am now paying more than I was before with BT

Appalling services. I have not had a landline for over a month and the technical support rambles on endlessly and I cannot make sense of what they say. Promised to send an outreach guy to visit my home to check out. I took time off work and no one came. I complained but nothing happens, the same rambling from the complaints section.

Avoid them! or if you have sign with them do it because they are the absolute cheapest.
Customer service non existent.
They promise 10-12-14Mbs on a 17Mbs connection and you do not even see 5.
And most important.
They have cheating associates like AWIN promising vouchers etc in order to sign that at the end you never get.

What a big pile of steamy crap myself and my whole family have had with them trouble from day one trying to connect to internet had to have an engineer out 3 times, they tried to charge for this but with arguments wasnt in the end, then was over charged on more than one occation and was hell to get refund on that. When cancelling thethe whole thing was agreed no cost would occur and oh look £304.22 out my bank and after a long hour and 22mins on the phone agreed to refund. Not easy not helpful just a load of crap and have lost alot of customers definitely better being with BT no issues at all with them

If I could have put 0 stars i would have!
Our speed is between 0.2-2.4. Talk talk has failed to deal with the issue, their staff contradict each other and don't document all the information you provide. There doesn't seem to be any kind of complaints procedure. I've wasted about 14 hours of my time either on the phone or with engineers and have finally given up as I'm sick of fighting them. The company send engineers and then don't believe what they are told after diagnostics. Luckily we are out of contract so can leave.
Please don't sign up to them (unless you like fighting, rubbish internet and have numerous hours to kill!)

Talktalk broadband is absolute garbage!
It's extremely slow, and on good days the latency is horribly high. Thought it was a router problem but no, even the router they supplied is absolute garbage. Don't be fooled my cheap prices because you pay for what you get! Customer service is good but even they can't do much since they don't control the company. Other than that, don't bother with Talktalk.

Absolutely AWFUL.I have been with Talk Talk for several years, it has never been great but OK'ish.After my last contract was up I was going to leave but after hours and hours of phone calls they offered me their super fast internet all inclusive with phone calls at a flat rate.I aked them repeatedly if that flat rate did indeed include absolutely everything and would be the same every month.I wasreasured that yes it would be the same every month.
Well it wasn't ,in fact not once was I charged the rate I had signed up for.On average it is £10 pounds more on occasion much more.The TV does not work at all, the speed is terrible despite lots of phone calls trying to fix it and it keeps cutting off altogether many times every day.
I really want to quit Talk Talk but am now locked into my 18month contract .The customer service is absolutely appaling and that is when the person at the other end even understands english.The cost of calling their customer service is very expensive (they told me it was free, (HAH)!
I am now considering just dumping them as even dealing with debt collectors is going to be less stressful than trying to get any kind of decent internet function out of them.
Their better faster internet service is rubbish,their customer service couldn't care less and is clearly just following a script rather than actually listening to what the problem is and their IT tech guys know less about how to fix things than I do. I feel utterly ripped off, they have lied to me time and time again.Do not sign up with them, if you do, do not pay by direct debit as they will take random amounts of money from your account.
They were ok'ish but now they are absolutely awful.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I was just on call with one of the workers and I have never seen such rudeness and laziness. I'm definitely going to cancel and what a waste of money. For anyone who even thinks of buying TalkTalk, listen to me. TalkTalk is absolute rubbish and is always turning on and off. Frankly, I've had enough of this nonsense.

Just changed from sky to Talk Talk and a real improvement,was happy enough with sky but price too high so changed with TT offer, much faster nothing buffering ,go the faster broadband and very happy in a heavy internet useing household.

Frankly fed up with this company. CUSTOMER SERVICE is not the worse that I have had- obviously I have been to petrol stations late at night- however it's not far off. When you phone up to complain about a fault, you are told that they will investigate (after a bloody age on the phone) then never hear back from them- and your internet still sucks.

BROADBAND SPEED I feel I have to give them 5* for this as the 3.4Mb/s that we occasionally peak at is close to the terrible max speed available due to the archaic technology that BT employ in rural areas (yet BT still charge you phone rental as if you are getting 21st century service... FML). The main problem with the quality of the inter net is the...

BROADBAND RELIABILTY is absolutely appalling!! As previously mentioned, you may get the max speed, but not for long. our speed drops to 0 fairly often, although this is the max speed we can expect at times apparently LOL. Ping, checked using speedtest by ookla, hovers between 55 and 925ms. Which is awesome.

Honestly recomend staying away from these people as they care little for their customers, and the quality you get is just plain bad. Television was so bad we gave up after the second day. On the bright side, the phone works... so YAY?

You guys are lucky that I am giving you a '1' when you deserve zero. Why should I have to write to you via the postal system or even phone you when this is an issue regarding absolutely woeful internet access/speed. How ridiculous is the fact that I cannot use a simple email method considering I am paying a lot of money to have internet access via your company. It's a bit like being asked to send a message via carrier pigeon during the 2nd world war when phone, radio and morse code were the norm. Come on, do something.

I consider talk talk as the worst service provider, that is my opinion, because of my experience with them years back.I place order for their broadband and i was given the installation date before then ,they'v sent my the router only for them to refuse to come to install it and ask me to do it, i said to them that ,that is not our agreement and more so, i don't know anything about them installation; even with that the didn't come only for them to start sending me billy ,i called on their attention but keep send bill for the service that never be or never install with that ,i cant even recommend to my enemy. as the name implies ,they are really talk talk.till date they are still expecting to pay for the service the never render.

Just joined talktalk because i was told they block all gambling web sites this is totaly untrue it only seems to block the big names like coral and william hill i clicked on betfair and that one still works plus loads more still work im not happy at all as i would have stayed with sky if i knew it didnt block all gambling sites so be warned before you dicide to purchase talktalk broadband.

plus customer service is terrible you just go round and round in circles thats if you can understand them as they are not uk based.

This company should be closed down,my broadband stopped working and I took my complaint to the CEOs office which is the highest authority at the company you can go to to resolve the issue.
It's been 5 weeks and still no indication as to when they will resolve the problem.
They can't even give me a time of when it will be resolved.
I am so stuck with them and they are completely useless.
The CEO case manger (saima nawaz) informs me that she is the highest authority in the company I can talk to and refuses to give me any details of anyone higher.
Please do not ever get involved with this company.

Run away. Out of the sudden speed got very slow on fabric optic. I rang them - was told that there is some line fault and I am supposed to pay 65 GBP for fixing the line somewhere outside my house down the street... Daylight robbery.

It is an awful service..i wish i could never sign up with them.. They have keep liying to me that they've sent ober the router which never arrived at my home..after two weeks talking with them every day for an hour to get the router i decided to cancel the account without any charge as advised.. This happened in April and after two months i received a final demand of outstanding amount of 61 pounds,one day after i have received a letter from agency to chase for an outstanding amount of £271, i forgot to mention that i have never received bills from them as i have never used their services..they are trying to steal money from people..the costumer service minus 10, they do not know how to speak.. I have joined Sky and i am very happy..

Worst broadband I have ever used, I can barely connect to the internet and now I have somehow gone over my allowance in the broadband? How does that even happen when I can't even connect to my router 70% of the day.

Don't ever get this broadband unless you want to waste your money.

The staff seemingly have scripts that they follow and no matter what you as a customer say, you will get the scripted response. I wish I was partial to a nightly tipple when I ring them as they would certainly drive me to drink. I have been on the phone for hours, (no hyperbole) and still not resolved the issue even when it has been very simple, on any planet except planet talktalk, who would never ever admit they have got it wrong or do not know what to do. I am a pensioner on a fixed income, but would rather pay more for my service and leave talktalk behind as I cannot deal with the stress of dealing with the ineptitude of the company,

If I could give no stars I would. I spent more time on the phone asking for help than I did receiving any broadband service!! 'Customer service' was the opposite of its title!! Just before I reached the end of my tether with the complete lack of service, I had no broadband for about 3 weeks. I was having to connect to my neighbour's wifi 2 doors down and when I told the moron on the phone, his attitude was that I had access to the internet so what was the problem!! When I wouldn't back down he also tried to charge me for a technician to come round, when all I needed was a new hub!! In the end I gave up and went back to BT. When I argued about paying for the most recent period of time where I had no service, they just ignored me and kept chasing me for the money I didn't even owe. They actually sent it to debt collectors in the end so I just gave up and paid it.
I have never before or since experienced a company with such rude, unprofessional, ignorant employees who possess a complete lack of integrity and moral code!!!
Still angry. Don't use Talk Talk. Use ANYBODY ELSE!!

Utterly shocking service. It is a staggering example of how little real consumer competition there is that this company can survive in today's vibrant market.
After moving in, it took them 14 days to sort out a Broadband problem and then we used for call divert which is faulty too - telephone line regularly drops calls for no reason as well - and 14 days after reporting the call divert (needed for emergency purposes) we're still getting the run-around.

I took the broadband connection it worked only for two days and stopped working. I called customer service many times, each time new person and same story telling about the issue and they advice to remove the front socket plate and check, etc.. but no resolution. They promise that the issue will be resolved within 48hrs but still after 12 days no internet. Every time I call they change the issue reporting date, as it looks like the issue is only few days old. Very bad service, please suggest me how to complain with the Authorities? Talktalk is just cheating.

After numerous calls and engineer visits I still have intermittent very slow broadband, and a phone that only rings occasionally, rest of the time just tings, I miss loads of calls. All the staff reckon they are managers, I been kept on hold for over 20 mins on numerous occasions and on the phone hours to try to get some answers. They want over £200 to cancel my contract, but I cannot run my home based business using this excuse for a company. They are most unhelpful, unprofessional and useless.

Your company is absolutely horrendous. How a phone company named talk talk won't employ enough people to actually answer the phone is beyond me. The internet service is terrible, how am I expected to watch Charlie's anals when the service keeps dropping? It's ruined my marital life as my Mrs liked watching gimp dwarfs climbing ladders and feeding ponies. There's a homeless man that sleep in an alleyway near me who everyday runs up and down the pavement with his trousers down to his ankles shouting 'look at me I'm a petrol pump' I've been thinking of attaching a wire to him and hooking him Upto my modem because he would give me faster speeds than you are doing, especially when he's been drinking toilet duck. On a serious note, I've called 5 times today and still haven't had my problem delt with. Everyone acts surprised when they answer the phone like they don't know what's happening. Kind of like when you poop and your dog looks at you like you've just milked the cat. Rating wise 0 - 10 and that's being generous. Anyone reading this please don't take out a contract with talk talk unless you have sniffed glue and tried to sell your kids on eBay but even then you wouldn't know if anyone has had a successful bid because the modem would be on fire and your girlfriend would have left you for the guy next door that took out sky.
