If you don't need any support then TT is for you. I don't and so I'm very happy with TT. I get a stable 36mb download and 9.5 upload. Of course I dumped the TT free router as it was rubbish. I have a Netgear D7000v2 its just replaced an N600. Always use Netgear stuff. Cheap reliable and that's all I need. Been a customer since 2010..upgraded to Fibre just as soon as it was available. Only get Internet and calls from TT never tried the TV package.

I have been with talktalk for well over a year and a half now,after reading all the terrible reviews on this I can't believe it,I'm on fibre medium and the call plan which allows you to call mobiles and land lines free for an hour but hang up before the hour and go again.my Internet has drop out about twice very late at night a can stream bbc iplayer etc... no problem and use my laptop and phone at the same time no problem, I was paying 33 pound for this but signed the new deal and now pay 30 which is a fixed price for 18 months no pay rises....a have a free sim card with 200 mins on it free but gave it to my mother who never gets near the limit every month but you can easily check via the app.yes the customer service is tricky with the over seas .communication but it's a free call anyway.I was with bt for 20 years but they kept rasin thier prices while given the deals to new customers which riled me as a was with them for so long.it can't just be me but talktalk are actually no bad at all,as a say this is my personal experience.

Not yet sure about broadband reliability, but had to share my experience. Broadband was "flaky" for past 10 days - very frustrating and couldn't get catch-up on TV. Read reviews and wished I hadn't joined Talktalk in July. Eventually bit the bullet and phoned customer services - as per other complaints had to wait about 40 mins for a reply from the Indian call centre. They did checks on my line, called me back and said it was a BT Openreach problem. I said "yeah, yeah, heard it all before etc". Next morning, 8 hrs later, got text from Openreach engineer saying they had found a fault with the fibre box down the street, came in and checked my connections and everything was OK. Can't believe it - was I just lucky??? Best customer service episode I've ever had!!

I'm making this review because people satisfied with the service rarely post.
I am happy with the service, £28 a month for 76mbps is £10 less than what everyone else charges.
once you get your port forwarding sorted out (VPN recommended), the supply is adequate.
7MB/s for the same price as what other providers charge for 3.5MB/s

Have been with TalkTalk for a number of years now and can honestly say I have been pleased with their service. We live in an old property in a country setting some 5/6 miles from the nearest telephone exchange. We recently had a problem with drop out. TalkTalk sent out an engineer after a very helpful discussion with tech support, who very patiently tried to sort out any problems at our end. The engineer left us with a clean service and a speed of 8.5. No charge from TalkTalk. What did emerge from the visit was the number of devices in use at our home - 19! How many of us add and add modern technology without any thought to how these are used. We have now arranged to have fibre installed, which apart from an increased speed, should enable us to increase our devices up to 38. I can easily see us getting up there when the family turn up in any number!

Had a lot of problems with reliability after they upgraded to ADSL2+ that were only resolved by 2nd line support after 3 weeks. But £4.04 a month is cheaper than any other provider and 13 Mbps is more than enough download speed so I ain't moving until somebody undercuts them

Although 6MB is not bad I would have at times liked that little bit more around the 10MB the same as a friend of my is getting in Cambridge, when I use his computer mine seems to have stopped. Talk Talk for the price seem as good as any I have loooked at.

Been with TalkTalk 10 years now. Had problems in first few months with broadband dropping, but has been fine since I changed to a Netgear wireless modem router. Customer service has been fine, and my one dealing with a "techie" was excellent. Cost and Service first class. Don't recognise the company the other poor reviews are referring to.

I lost my email facility recently and contacted Talk talk by landline. The call was answered immediately and quickly upgraded to an operator called 'Precuious' who spent an hour patiently talking me (a complete technophobe) through the process. i can't fault the customer service.

I don't believe the negative reviews as genuine customers???I have been with talk talk since they started,many years now.

Yes they much better than used to be was a patchy phrase, but I stuck with them mainly due to massive cost difference with BT.


Broadband improved hardly any drop outs,use BBC I player OK.have had occasional line probs each time has been fixed quickly,has been while since any problems due to the new box they sent me&tbh problems were due to BT line&tree effecting the line outside the home.

I'm more happy with them,yes sometimes on rare occasion you can get a newbie on customer service which not greatest,but generally I found them helpful pleasant.

I won't leave not yet anyway, though was thinking try the latest company at minute I'm happy with£22.95-£27, fast broadband and free calls and sim

to all of you that moan at TalkTalk plc is rubbish well you dont read to what your signing up to most of you are on a DSL connection not a fiber one you need to take in to account the the length of the telephone line is from your house to the telephone exchange is if its over 2 miles long you will get a connection speed of 4.5 meg also take a look at how many devices are connected to your router for example if you have 3 smart tv and 2 mobile phones and 2 laptops and 1 desk top connected to the router you will see a drop in your speed as these devices take 2 or 3 meg each to operate and a lot of time your fault not theirs. also look at the location of your router as private telephone engineer that contracts my work out to BT ive seen routers in some strange places in ceilings cellars behind tvs under-floors in walls in lofts and when i've moved them to a different location the connection improved also telephone line extensions are not made for broadband ive seen so many routers plugged in to these things its not funny there not reliable even though it says broadband ready there not always keep your router plugged in to the master socket. Please look at your contracts and read what type of BB you have singed up for and the lowest guaranteed speed they can supply you with. i signed up to talktalk 3 months ago my min guaranteed speed is 56.7mbps yes im on fiber but im getting around 80mbps and its been reliable no slowdowns no spikes nothing i cant fault them apart from there customer services.

When i joined i was told my estimated speed was 7.3Meg.speed test`s indicate about 6.5Meg.
Only ever use the members forum if i have problems as they are first class.

Had no problems with this broadband at all, it never dropped and was always at relativity high speeds (for what we were using it for anyway). Had it for over a year.

Had issues when moving home. We were told they couldn't provide at our new address and that we would be let out of the contract for this reason. All fine until we received a cancellation bill. Took a LONG time to resolve, with quite rude people who simply did not listen or read over my previous emails. Had to start again every time I spoke to them.

Overall great if you don't have to deal with customer service. With the reliability of it though, you shouldn't have to.

Ok, the customer safety is the worst probably, and I've been changed the appointment for the go live date of internet twice... but apart from that, the connection is good, they cancelled the installation fee and promised me three months free to apologize. Also the strength of the signal is good, I've had sky before and the signal was much weaker. My offer is Faster Fibre. I suggest to do it if you don't have any problems of waiting for your new line, the price is cheap tho.

after a lot of phone calls to Talk Talk and speaking to ever more senior staff I finaly got the speed from 1m if lucky, to 6.5m all the time. It has been like this for a year now. My next door neighbour with same company is still getting around 800k.

I've been with talk talk for many years. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. We did have a lot of problems with the broadband reliability, but we changed our router and have had no problems since, so it must have been a problem with the router. I have spoken with customer services on quite a few occasions. I find them rather tedious to talk to, but nonetheless helpful. The customer services staff are in India, and so the communication can be a bit more difficult, and they are obviously taught to keep repeating back your request, which is a bit annoying. They are usually quite good at talking you through any problems and are quite helpful I have found. There are high number of bad reviews on this site, and it makes me wonder if it is mostly those with problems that bother to leave a review unfortunately. I don't think it gives you a good feel for what the company is really like, because like I say, I have many dealings for many years and have had pretty good service.

When Talk Talk is not having a crisis, I find the system good. I found customer services helpful on the few occasions I have used it.

The email server seems to have improved greatly just recently.

On the minus side the Talk Talk Search Site and News is extremely annoying and for me unusable because as you are trying to read popups obliterate everything, so I never use it

I switched from sky and regretted it as kids would scream they have lost connection while online gaming.
It took many phone calls and now no more lost connection.
Once it's sorted I can't complain
I am getting steasy 31mb from the 38mb package

For the price of £22.50 you can't go wrong.
If the price was same price as rival company I would leave.
I would say their customer service is not great..most read from script but some are really good and helpful.

been with talktalk years,never had a problem with internet and phone but they clearly need to retrain some of their customer services department.still waiting after 2 weeks for my new box and when rung up was told its not their fault and I can cancel my contract. very poor service.

Customer service is non existent!
Signed up and was told system would go live on 24/07/17. It did not.To get both broadband and phone land-line working took until 03/08/17, It took 2hrs 46mins spread over 6 phone calls and at a cost to myself of £48,80 on a pay as you go mobile to get everything working. In fairness the broad band was up and running within72 hrs of schedule but the land line was a nightmare.
When I asked to be repaid for the calls I made I was asked to provide receipts, can you do this on pay as you go? I don't know as I only have a mobile for emergencies and have only made 1 call since I was given it last December.

This is feedback about Mandy who I just took out a contract with for talk talk starting 1st March 2018. She deserves a medal and a reward for the best customer service I have ever received. She clarified everything patiently and so I was clear about what I was getting. She has an excellent telephone voice and manner and nothing was too much trouble in spite of lots of questions from me . Well done to Mandy . Get more people on board like her. I do hope the after sales service lives up to the same high standards

The best speed obtainable with BT was 0.5Mb and that was on their Option 3 tariff. Having swapped to TalkTalk earlier this year I was amazed that I immediately was getting speeds close to 3MB and I have never experienced any loss of service. However, the TalkTalk customer service is laughable, they are simply not capable of resolving any issues, no matter how simple. Nevertheless, providing you are an experienced computer user or know someone who is, then for the speed and reliabilty alone TalkTalk is a good choice.

I know the other reviewers have had bad experiences, so I guess I won the Broadband Lottery!

Got TT about a year ago, and yes there were teething problems... Arguments as to which end of the line the fault was one, promised a new router which never came etc, but since then the speed and quality has been fine.

We have just moved from one end of the country to another and we're expecting hell to move the account, but half an hour on the phone and it was sorted "just plug in your router and you will be connected".

As incredulous as I was at this, when I plugged in the router in the new house and switched it on, all our devices connected straight away no problems.

Now, we have never needed to switch from TT, complain about a service, change DD date etc, so I can't comment on that customer service angle, but our journey with them has been surprisingly smooth.

At an event when I tried to end my contact they were charging lots of money. Cut off phone line and broadband even though I still had one month to use. I paid for phone line one year in advance. Had to involve Citizen Advice Bureau. Customer service very poorly, discrimination is present. Would definitely not recommend to anyone.

Never have i experianced so much stress from one company and false information given to me, have had nothink but trouble with talk talk sine i joined.I suffer ill health and had nothink but stress from talk talk making my ill health worse. I would not reccomend talk talk to anyone.

Useless Customer Service since August 1st we have had 1 engineer and 2 new talk talk boxes....still not working...and now I have to wait 2 more weeks for a 2nd engineer!!!!oh and to top it they cant refund my money untill they have resolved the problem.

Would definitely not recommend switching to this company. I signed up to a tv, broadband and phone deal and if I'm honest the go live date on the broadband and phone was seamless and my internet has been fairly reliable. However, after two weeks and still not receiving my youview box I called to ask where it was. 1hr and a number of different departments (who don't seem to communicate with each other at all) I was informed that they had attempted delivery and as I was not in they had returned it to base and cancelled the to part of my contract (no difference to the price they were charging me). Never got any apology or explaination as to why they had not communicated with me over any of this. I have had to call a number of times while they assure me they are sorting things for me and on many occasions I have found the staff to be extremely rude and unhelpful. They then tried to tell me I would have to sign back up to a new tv package (more expensive) -!: pay again for the to installation. I refused this as I had already paid for installation and had nothing installed! Sooooo 45 minutes on hold to be told by someone in customer management "what do you want us to do about it". I have now decided to downgrade the package to just broadband and count the days till I can leave this company!!!

I had a problem with internet access and being a new customer of only 4 days I was concerned, however, the customer service team worked through the issues along with Shaun Peters and his team resolving my technical issues and all sorted now and up and running. Thanks.

Talk talk is great until there is a problem and you need technical help then you need a great deal of patience and time - I still do not have their homesafe feature working after 2 months and their technical team are never available when transferred to them. Annoying fist line support as well typically takes 20 minutes to get them to understand the problem.

TalkTalk are Conning customers and Lying about price promotions of £23.95 when its only £17 on there actual website..you have to haggle then they go away to speak with Manager, they come back after 2 Mins and hey presto it suddenly changes to £17..Thats for unlimited bb, I get a solid fast 17Mbps,never slows
down and I use up to 400GB a month ripping games and films, although I do live close to exchange...CS is vile though there rude they laugh and hang up when you complain, and never put notes on the account even though they say there typing it on there..!

Today my internet was cut off for no aparant reason or without warning at 1.20pm. I called the customer help line and found the person rude and evasive. She informed me that there had been restrictions on my account. I found this very strange because I had called talk talk earlier that day at 8.20am to pay my set bill. I immediately asked to be put throught to a manager or someone who can help me. I then spoke to mike from technical support who was understanding and patient who truly understood what I was going through I explained the situation and he calmly explained it happeneds all the time and that it's a common thing he totally defused the situation and helped me get back online. I found this to be great customer service because I was not happy with my internet being cut and I was very close today switching broadband networks.

Shout out to mike from technical support your a legend mate and deserve a raise.
