I’ve been with talk talk broadband for over a year,and have extended my contract for another year.Previously with Virgin,and there service was terrible,nowhere near the speeds they promised at top tier,and was constantly going down.Its this,it’s that,send you a new router,still same problems.Leaving,well,that call was almost as long as my 8 years with them. I had talk talk years ago when it first started up,and never had a problem. 15 months in,and it’s the best move I ever did,never had any problems,and the promised speed of 76mb is just that and some,I struggled to get 50 on virgin cable,when it was working.No throttling,and am very happy that they delivered what they promised.Thats just my review of the service they provide me.A very happy customer.

However bad you think a TV and broadband provider could be, they will still fall below expectations. Expect them to mess up every time you interact with them. Expect their call centre staff to be barely literate and unable to understand even the simplest language.. Expect repeated problems with your Youview box and definitely expect to have issues shaking them off when you finally get to contract end. I wouldn’t stay with TalkTalk if they offered it for free.

Recived router had no internet at all made 3 appointments to fix the problem nobody arrived been 6 weeks now and still offline.avoid getting harrased for payment 10 times or more a day.please avoid staff very rude.stick with well known companys as these are terrible and still trying to bill me for a service ive not recived

Dreadful behond words!
The whole point of me having a broadband connection for my flat was so I would not have to by 4G data all the time. I wemt with taltalk as it seemed a good deal price wise but didn't realise they provided no service what so ever! consantly stalled couold not get online for a second and when I tried to phone them customer service gave me nothing!
Do not touch this firm I think they should be made to pay all there short changed customers compansation until they are in adminastration! They should be reported to watch dog or trading standsrds!

Simply the worst broadband provided I have ever dealt with and to be honest they do not deserve 1 star. After a week of requesting a router be sent as my had given up, I was told that I would have to sign up to a new contract in order for me to get one. TalkTalks customer services is literally that bad that they know once you have dealing with them you'll cancel they services so the try to strong arm you into a new contact to say the connection.

The company is shocking and a joke.

Talktalk repeatedly block the internet connection in my flat on purpose so that i'm forced to phone customer services to complain, at which point they conveniently tell me that I need to upgrade to the more expensive package. When I tell them I won't be doing that (never had issues with the internet for the last two years up until now which makes it clear that it's being done on purpose to try and force me to upgrade), the internet suddenly miraculously starts working again. This happens on an almost daily basis.

A cheap sambles. Customer services is shocking. They did an update to their terrible email system which locked me out of my email. Rang "customer services" who ask the same non relevant questions and don't listen to your answers. They couldn't help. Was told their Manchester office would ring me within working days. ^ days passed, rang the same shambles customer service team again who told me they would have to pass it onto Manchester again. You can't contact their Manchester office direct. When I moved house 6 years ago, I stayed with Talktalk so they sent me a new router. After many phone calls chasing them, being cut off because their office closed at 8pm, I was finally told my router had been delivered. When I asked where, they told me Newcastle!! I asked them why it hadn't been delivered to Middlesbrough, they didn't know why but they asked me to collect it from Newcastle even though it's 40miles away. When I asked where in Newcastle they said they couldn't tell me!!!!!

This company is a joke!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would

1 hour and 40 mins on the phone because they have charged me the monthly bill and 'accidently' cut off our internet line due to human era on there side.

The resolution:
1. I cannot be refunded the amount
2. I cannot have the internet turned back on
3. I cannot leave the contract without a £100 contract break fee
4. I cannot be compensated for the data I am having to use on my phone contract
5. They admit it was there mistake but cannot do anything

The result, someone from senior management will call me back.

Such a joke!!!!!

Worst IP company I have dealt with. It was my first year with them. I will make sure I wont come back ever again. 1 year of problematic connection was enough. When my contract has already expired(about 2-3 months ago) they demanded me tobpay so called cancellation fee. Which is absolute ***** of a rip off. Avoid at all costs. Hidden fees everywhere.

Talk Talk,what a joke,they would rather lose an 18 month contract and insist on a £46 payment that was their own fault.The minions in Manila (customer services)don't have a brain capable of making a decision and when asked a question they remain silent or are evasive,so I decide to drop this very poor service and take out a contract wiht a company who's customer services speak English as they are UK based,(turned out to be cheaper than talk talk).
I can honestly say that I have never encountered such a poor customer service set up,the fun part is the fake names they use......embarasing !.Oh well I could sit here all day writing this review and never find a good point,just don't use this awful company,pleased be advised.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Have to call several times to talk to someone (and go through the whole process of typing in account number followed by # blah blah blah) as several times a call operator will hang up on me after saying hello.

Tried to cancel previously and was convinced to instead change the account into my flat mates name. Waited for the forms to do so which never arrived so rang again to cancel and was told I had to wait 30 days to cancel from the second time I phoned (and not the first as I had requested) plus I was told I would be charged £30 rather than the £17 I had signed up to pay, as I was out of contract (which is the whole reason I was trying to cancel in the first place).

Also the broadband speed is painfully slow.

Will not be using talk talk again and advise others to stay clear.

Awful customer service. The advisors must be so regimented they cannot answer a simple request without checking you need faster internet. Asking for a leave date brings a raft of offers and a lack of listening to the question asked. No issues with the speed of the internet of costs; just VERY frustrated EVERY time I have the misfortune to need to either call or use the live chat feature.

Absolutely dreadful service during the duration of my contract. When I finally decided to cancel my service (well after my contract had expired, the price had gone up by 20% in two months and the quality of service had decreased to the point of being almost unusable) I found it extremely difficult to be connected to any customer service representative (you are told there's no one free if you specify you are calling to cancel, but are connected immediately if you specify another reason).
When you express your desire to cancel you are being forced to pay additional bills for services you are not using and the representatives can't give a reason as to why they need a whole month to disconnect you, instead resolving to pointless technobabble that aims to confuse less knowledgeable clients.
Avoid at all costs, anything is better than TalkTalk (choosing another provider also comes with less chance of getting your personal information stolen).

As a new customer got a date 19th july 2019 then they cancelled the day it with a text message and to followip with a call which never came. Reason for first cancellation was quite silly and seemed an obvious lie . A second date given for installation on 24th july. Today received a similar text to the first time of delay and we might have to postpone to a newer date. Already all the signs are there to not take their services and getting out of their clutches wasn’t easy which is always a bad sign. ( less than one minute of call if you are a calling to join compared to 20 odd minutes of holding if you want to be transferred to the cancellation department and that too they will send you to some wrong department in the end)I have had enough and don’t wish to be their customer.
Thankyou for showings your true colours very early on. I treally am grateful!!

Very poor customer services. Tried for two days before I managed to get hold of someone. Despite the website indicating a customer care line available until 10 pm, I received a message saying unavailable at the moment. Tried the app no success... maintenance on website...and so it went. Finally got hold of someone to arrange a home move. Then they got the date wrong which meant I would be without internet for a month! Asking them to adjust and correct the date I was told they can’t do that and the whole one hour conversation was for nothing as the only way to fix it is to cancel it completely and that I need to phone back the following day!!! Very very poor service and it makes me cross that I need to pay to get out of my 12 month contract with them. Stay away definitely not recommending them as internet provider.

Have had talktalk now since october last everything fine until i tried downloading there internet security it will not down load because i have old accounts still on there evan though i click on the new account. I phoned and e-mailed talktalk and was informed they would sort it out and give me a phone call in a weeks time but never recieaved a call only an e-mail asking me to phone them. No customer service at all keep clear of these cowboys.

Have been with TalkTalk as long as I can remember-And until 2 weeks ago everything fine-In the last two weeks -My speed fluctuates constantly between 2 to 9 download. and it goes up and down like a yo yo.. When I get it checked I am told there is nothing wrong!

Absolutely disgusting..
Absolutely ridiculous, with no compassion,

My great Uncle passed away, so while everything was going on, my Mom had the account put into her name, so that we could sort everything out at the house and also notify all other friends and family..

so tried informing them that the house is now empty and that the telephone is no longer needed at the house.. tried online chat first... the online chat agent, did not know what he was doing, and so cut us off, a complete waist of an hour + of our time.. then called to try and sort this out, thrown around to different telephone agents and different departments, to be basically told that we would have to pay a contract cancelation fee to close the account..

at a time of where we as a family don't need or want any more hassle TalkTalk completely disregard the fact we have lost a loved one and just want their money..

Absolutely disgusting..

My Mom and Dad also have TalkTalk at their house but after this, They will be getting rid of this terrible company..

TalkTalk should be ashamed of them selves.. and from what Ive read not the first..

I was with Talk Talk, on an 18 month contract. Using the landline to call any local number, apart from Talk Talk customers, was very expensive; this meant that I rarely used the landline.
The internet was unreliable, especially for the last seven months of the contract. I contacted them seven times during that time to report the problem. Each time I called them it took between one and two hours to sort out, then the internet would stop working again a week or two later. It took so much time and energy each time, that I just stopped calling them eventually because I did not have the time or energy to waste. At the end of the contract the price increased by approximately £10 a month. When I tried to cancel the contract, after it ended, I was bombarded with calls, offering me a cheaper service; so much for rewarding loyal customers! I was told that I should receive compensation due to the poor quality of the service. I was given a measly £17; an absolute insult and a disgraceful way to treat their customers. I’m glad to finally see the back of them.

Evasive & difficult to deal with when negotiating deals. Will withold information and be selective with facts in order to get you to sign up to a rubbish deal. It seems that their call centre is somewhere abroad and it is very difficult to understand the english being spoken by the agents. Avoid this company like the plague!

Please do not put yourself through a year with Talktalk. After a year of red lights on my router and having to restart it every day & slow speeds. I have spent hours on the chat trying to end my contract, after the 12 month term, but they just won't do it. Its a joke and a scam. They only get away with it since people wont go to the regulators for the sake of £30 or whatever they try to squeeze out of you unnecessarily.

I’m so glad that I only have one month left before I switch to a new provider! The past year has been plagued with me coming home to a red light on my router everyday and having to reset it (at least once, often twice) to get it working again. Once it is up and running, download speeds are extremely slow and the service is unreliable and cuts out frequently.
I raised this issue with customer service and their “solution” helped in no way. Not only would I not recommend TalkTalk, I would actively discourage anyone who is thinking of going with them to run the other way! Totally dissatisfied.

***PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER JOINING TALKTALK****I echo many of the comments made about this truly awful broadband provider. if you are thinking about changing to Talk Talk then i strongly urge you not to do so. Since swapping to them from Plusnet in May 19(to save £17 per month) i have had an awful experience. They promised 11 mb/s but i am lucky to get 6 Mb/s and the buffering on my smart tv is doing my head in. I spent 1 and half hours with the complaints team and then the technical team (now he really was a joke) with nothing resolved at the end other than if i wanted to leave then i had to pay a penalty in excess of £100. They also stated that i was getting 7Mb/s running through my phone line and that was satisfactory. My ofcom app shows it less than 6 Mb/s every day. It would appear that i am stuck with this terrible service for another 10 months which i find most upsetting. The customer service offered online is totally pointless. The complaints team are useless and the technical person i spoke to talked like a robot and even asked me to drag my TV 20 ft to plug it into the router when he knew full well that this was a ridiculous thing to suggest.

Poor broadband and even worst customer service, to get a late payment fee removed i was passed to 4 different staff/depts and mgrs and spent I over 2 hours on phone, by the end I was so drained, upset and unhappy about the poor outcome and service. Ofcom really needs to look at this poor company

The broadband constantly cuts out, causing major issues for our organisation. The customer service team will never accept liability, I have changed everything they have told me to change from my end and there is still issues.
Finally they have the audacity to say that there is a £166.66 call out fee which we believe is unreasonable.

I moved from Sky broadband to TalkTalk and what a huge mistake that turned out to be.
Firstly my connection is intermittent and sometimes slow, especially in the evening.
I spend 45 minutes with customers technical services doing the same things and it hasn’t dawned on them that we continue to get the same results. Nothing changes.
It feels like they have me locked into a contract and so I am stuck with them
I can’t wait to leave TalkTalk- STEER CLEAR OR BE PREPARED TO BE VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I am with Talk Talk for about 3years now and to be honest at the beginning when we moved in this area, we didn't have many choices of Broadband services that covers this area. I always tried to be optimistic and not to be bothered with the faulty internet because I wasn't being home for a lot and also even when I was at home I didn't use a lot the internet.
However even though I'm not using as much the internet, my mom does and we should get what we deserve and we should get what they offer for that money and I'm telling you... It's not even close to what they promised us for the 29£ / month. This broadband and the customer service it's rubbish. Also if you want somebody to come over to your house to see what is the problem, to fix the problem you have to pay for that. Which I think it ridiculous because it's their faulty devices they promised it's going to work.
I highly recommend people in England : DO NOT MAKE A CONTRACT WITH TALK TALK IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!! IT'S RUBBISH... please people do not waste your time and money on this rubbish company, they cannot provide people the service they promised. You gonna end up fixing the internet and everything else they suppose to or you will pay loads of money for what they should do for free

Talktalk is like a super cheap Chinese imitation of real broadband bought at a discount on Alibaba .com. It'll take ages to arrive and probably arrive damaged. It'll work, but probably not very well. And it's pretty much guaranteed to break.

I have left. A review before but again I want to leave one to say the customer service is awful. Honestly worst company I have ever had the displeasure to use.
They promised a refund to then not offer the same amount. And then agreed a set amount to only refund me 2/3 of the amount. They will not send me the last £10 after numerous attempts to be told “they can’t refund a good Will gesture and it can be used for my next bill” I will never use this service again

I cannot tell you how bad this company is for taking people's money and avoiding any type of resolution. NOT EVEN THE ENGINEER KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING and failed to install my faster fibre despite being at my property for over 3 hours - USELESS!! . It took me hours to get my service cancelled (the day after supposed installation). I kept getting fobbed off that they could not cancel and said there was an deactivation fee!!!! Had it not been for my dogged determination to not give up and be fobbed off to different call centres around the world that I finally managed to speak to a manager who has promised my disconnection has been activated and no fees are due (I have yet to see this though). The level of customer service and helping customers is preposterous and I would say avoid at all costs. The endless calls and being passed from pillar to post and nobody seemingly able to help you, will just ruin your day. I have cancelled my disconnection with Virgin and will stick with them. Even though they are expensive i've never had one problem with them. Defo pay the extra for a happy sream-lined service - Please!
