Useless company, useless customer service. Wait hours on phone to speak to customer services, constantly being transferred to other departments that don't answer at all, or unable to find out why there is no internet or when it will be reconnected. Like so many other reviews, avoid with a barge pole.

    Pathetic Internet service provider
The most pathetic, incompetent internet service provider in the country. Do not sign contracts with them. In order to solve a problem that has arisen, they first say there is no problem, then they say, sorry, there was a problem with your connection due to the problem that occurred in the area you live in. After they had done all the tests Then they said they fixed the problem. I go back and reported that the problem was not solved, and this was carried out for 2 months. when I decided to close my account after 2 months of struggle, they kept me in phone traffic for 6 hours and finally, they accepted close the account. Then they apologized and said that they would deduct the monthly fee I paid from my account as a credit note, but nothing happened. They tried everything, even made it difficult for me not to leave them, they deliberately made me wait on the phone. They send a postage-paid envelope to send back their useless routers. I did so. I get an e-mail saying they have received it and the sentence they call me is "you are a zero-vaste hero. Today they send me another postage-paid envelope and they want me to post back the router again. After all, when you look at the last two days of comments from Trustpilot, you see what a disaster they are. With their useless help team, they are trying to help people. Hey, talk talk you should be ashamed of this poor service.

    Shocking customer service
Have been with Talk Talk 2 years. Moving house to a new build property BT outreach box in house . Told to cancel current account and take new account then told 5 weeks for engineer visit. I work from home for the NHS so that is unacceptable. As in the cooling off period called to cancel, followed up by email and live chat. Ordered BT broadband would be installed in 7 days… this was then cancelled by BT as still showing as live order at Talk Talk! Repeated chats emails etc and order still not cancelled. Shocking treatment and customer service! Would not recommend them to anyone ! Also tried the cancellation team useless

Talk Talk is an utter disgrace. We have had no internet for 3 weeks now. we have been in contact with 5 different people, we have had 3 new routers sent, none work. and then now we have been told that our service has been stopped 2 weeks ago for NO REASON, even though we spoke to someone else today and they did not tell us this. They have stopped our contract for no reason and they are now saying they can't restart it for another 8 days, but they are happily taking our money even though we apparently have no service with them, even they don't understand why our service has been stopped and are looking into it?. It has been the most frustrating experience ever, i am appalled.

I'll be short and trying to be sweet, (hard to be). The worst experience I had with a broadband provider it's Talk Talk, there were days without a service, not to mention the speed, days which they should have discounted from the bill, but never did, you pay a month in advance, if your contract finished on a day before the new bill, they still charge you for the next month...so, to cut the long story short, my experience with this company has been a nightmare, I would never recommend Talk Talk to anyone, not even to my worst enemy, stay away from it if you can. enough said

First the good news. I've been with TalkTalk since I moved into a new property 7 years ago and the internet connection and speed has always been reliable and as advertised. The bad news when you need to resolve an issue and talk to someone (like the discounted loyalty offer you took on an 18 month contract goes to full price mid-term without notice). My current issue is my 18mth contract is up this month but my online account has it expiring over a year ago. Because of this I can't change any options. When I finally spoke to someone in the Full Fibre Team who is native English speaker and understood my issue he said I was still shown as being in the Cooling Off period and my account would need fixing by the backoffice team. This would take 2-3 days max. 3 weeks later and several calls later it's still not fixed. After I said I was going to cancel the agent asked if I wanted to log a complaint which would guarantee a supervisor would call back in 24>48hrs - which I did. 3 days have passed - have I been called back? No!I have to say like others I can't think of a worst company for customer care - it's almost like one of those video training courses back in the day John Cleese did on how NOT to do customer care and drive your customers to another provider.

    Customer Service

Terrible customer experience, still being billed despite already cancelling, sending back their device, and paying a cancellation fee. Called to cancel services in Mid-September because I had to move, so I sent back the device and paid a hefty cancellation fee. I've done all that yet I was still billed until January. Contacted them again in January to ask why I was still being billed, and they claimed that I had not cancelled services nor sent back the device. Either terrible customer management on their part, or outright theft. Wanting to cut my losses, I submitted a cancellation again via chat (now a written paper trail should exist). Still no cancellation confirmation until February. Just wasting money for services that I do not use, have cancelled, and have paid for the cancellation.

Would not recommend, unless you want to waste your money.

    Broadband

The broadband speed and reliability was adequate enough for day-to-day activities. Not worth the awful customer experience.

I was having talk talk connection in my property and was always having network issues. Then came a mail from talktalk saying that they are going to update to fibre optic system and that would enhance the network speed. I was expecting that would resolve the network issues and agreed to do that. Engineers came from city fibre and installed the fibre optic connection on 6th feb and said that the connection would go live in half an hour. Waited for 2 hours and contacted talk talk. The person whom I spoke did not even know what city fibre does and who they are. Anyway explained the problem to her and she said it will be activated after midnight. Waited for 24 hours and nothing happened. Rang up talk talk again and talk to another person who again had no clue about what is going on. Somehow explained to her my concerns and at the end she was repeatedly saying that this did not happen because of fibre optic installation. But instead because of a network crisis which happened in many places apparently. I was trying to explain her that it was running well until the router was disconnected from previous connection and connected on to the new one. She was not accepting that at all. At the end I requested her to raise a complaint because it is completely a fault from the providers side and I can not be waiting for 2-3 days for the problem to be resolved, as she said. Her reply was shocking. Then the procedure is to pause all the repair work until they investigate on it and that would take more than a week. So now, just because I followed what this people instructed, I’m not able to work until they come back with a solution. They are not a trustable provider at all from my experience.

The wifi provider at the previous place I lived was Virgin. The wifi went down zero times in three years and I never had a single problem.
I’ve lived at my current address with TalkTalk wifi for about 5 years and reckon I’ve had to ring them and spend half an hour on the phone roughly twice a year due to my router failing and not having an internet connection.
It’s almost impossible to talk to a customer service advisor who speaks English as a first language, and none of the staff I’ve ever spoken to have been able to tell me why my router isn’t working when I’ve asked.
I’m getting fed up with TalkTalk and have just told the bloke I spoke to on the phone after my router failed again today that if it stops working once more in the next twelve months, they’ve lost a customer.

They set up 2 direct debits with my bank. Luckily I noticed this and cancelled them. They offered me 3 months free if I don't report them to ofcom and not cancel my order. I agreed to this. Got my bill today no 3 months free and they say they never offered me the 3 months in the first place. I am disabled and feel like I've been scammed.

Was sent an engineer date to come and install the eero hub to our wall . Waited 8 and beyond to the next day with no calls , emails messages to say why the engineer has not turned up. So then i went to phone up and cancel which was an absolute nightmare itself . Took over 4 hours to be completed . Then they run through the terms and conditions of cancellations to a service we havent even got saying it will be cancelled a month later , This is supposdly so they can charge us for s non existing service . Absolute shambles of a company . STAY WELL CLEAR

Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service. The billing page malfunctioned and changed a direct debit date instead of setting up a one off payment extension. The knock on effect was lots of calls that didn't fix the issue. My account told me if I paid the promise to pay, that the overdue amount would still come out via direct debit anyway.... Then direct debit didn't come out.. Wouldn't change back because you have to wait three months to change back the date again. (I didn't change the direct debit, I made a one off payment application). Then I tried to leave. Only after three days have talktalk finally read me the leaving script and confirmed a leaving date. Apparently they didn't receive the takeover application either so I have to pay 30 day leaving notice. It now transpires that because a direct debit was cancelled (by them, with no mention of a fee at leaving) I will be charged a fee because I cannot set it up again before the end of the contract, to pay the final bill (because I am cancelling it, despite being told I could reset up the direct debit on the phone, anyway that call hung up on me after reading cancellations script, technically it was billing that hung up. I wanted to find out my final bill, for them to calculate it..). A few days ago I got hung up on by billing too. I think billing like hanging the phone maybe? Maybe they enjoy the click?. I just tried to sign in today and now I can't even sign in to my chuffing talktalk account. It says sso.talktalk.co.uk took too long to respond and suggests I need to check my internet connection. But everything else is connecting. Like news websites. It's just talktalk. It also does the same when using my phone. Weird, huh? They haven't fixed it and don't seem to know how to. No one has explained why it's happening. I've given up trying to get out of paying the extra charge for lack of direct debit. The lady that gave the email to complain to cenerns@talktalk.plc.com (I don't know if this correct?, anyway I'll try it). Yeah she randomly just pressed divert after she gave that email.... I gave up at that point. So I'll send the complaint in via email. Then complain to ombudsman I guess. Awful! Wow!

I would avoid using talktalk fullstop. I am a brand new full fibre customer (since 13 Jan) who was promised upwards of 150 mbps, which was achieved the first day I switched so is achieveable. Since then I have been unable to work from home 3 mornings and not had Internet at least 5 evenings (in a matter of weeks). When I am lucky enough to actually get Internet is has been as low as 20mbps.

I then have the pleasure of having to spend well over an hour EVERY TIME I call (and this is only because I have now worked out what I have to do to be given the privilege of getting through to a human) with a 'technical support team' who's skills don't go any further than the script they are reading from. You get asked the same questions multiple times (that you have already answered) because of their script and their lack of training, knowledge and ability to understand the issues and what is being explained. When I have asked to speak to a manager, I get told I have to go through these checks again first and give yet another hour of my time to get absolutely nowhere. Disgraceful doesn't even cover it.

Everything went fine, signed up, received router, City Fibre engineer appointment, City fibre completed the installation. Then it was down hill fast, Engineer, documentation and video imply that as soon as the installation has taken place your good to go. Ten calls to TalkTalk, usual transfer you and ten minutes later line goes dead. When I did talk to someone I got three different excuses with the last one blatantly lying and no broadband.

Been with talk talk a few times over the years as they offer good deals and have generally had few problems with them. Broadband reliability has been fine in my experience with a few hiccups but always been able to get through to talk to an adviser on the phone. Advisers generally polite and helpful but a couple of times they have messed up processing my request and had to get in contact with another adviser to sort out the issue. Speed's been good since on fibre.

Not even joined them and their customer service is appalling. I called Talk Talk this morning to discuss broadband availability in my street. I asked them to call back tomorrow to agree a move over if we decided to make the change.

3 hours later I get a text and e-mail form Sky saying my braodband was moving provider. I spoke with Sky, who conformed that a order had been placed with open reach for a 3rd party to take over my line. Sky managed to cancel this.

I then called Talk Talk and wasted 2 hours of my life with incompetent sales and customer service people who were unable to confirm any order had been placed. kept asking me for my account number (I HAVENT JOINED YOU YET AND WILL NOT BE) and then refused to give me their names.

    Utterly appalling service.

AVOID THERE MUST BE SOMEONE BETTER

The customer service is absolutely shocking. The phone number is closed so they said to use the online chat which I did and I was disconnected 6 times, answered the same questions numerous times within each different chat, all over a 2 hour period and did not manage to fix my Wi-Fi. If I could put 0 stars for overall satisfaction and customer service, I would of.

Bad internet, every month there were complaints about the attention of the team and nothing was solved, until canceling this broadband. Then we thought they were dealing with the cancellation papers and it wasn't even cancelled, we called again to resolve and cancel because we continued to receive the bill and without the cancellation letter, and then, even without having a router it was the same thing and it was just count. It was a lot of stress this whole time using this boarband, because we still talk to the whole team and no one can solve any problem, and until today I was receiving a bill to pay. Therefore, the advice I give is do not sign a contract with this broadband because you will have a lot of problems, and many excuses will be made so that you can pay them. I hope they don't send me any more emails charging me because I don't have internet anymore since last year.

While transfer to a new provider from Talktalk for phone and broadband was taking place, Talktalk issued a new contract without my consent. I phoned twice but they did not rectify their mistake. Talktalk sent me a letter confirming the transfer which took place on the 5 Dec, but still they kept my account active. They are sending me emails asking for monthly payment, I sent a complain letter for which I have not received any reply yet instead today I have received a threatening letter from Talktalk. Have any of you received the similar treatment from Talktalk? This is an harassment which is causing me stress and taking up my time.

I am very disappointed about the services of Talk talk. We moved to new home. The talk talk available at that building, therefore we chose that. And asking for the broadband connection. We asked for the normal connection.but, they pull us to take full fiber connection. My husband is work from home. He was in off until get the broadband connection. We just wait until get the box and the engineer booked date ,it takes almost 2 weeks. Then after connection engineer said there is no proper connection so need to contact with talk talk.we contacted with talk talk they said it takes again one month. I don't know it's fair. Because for a connection takes 1.5 months, we talked with the officials of talk talk. But,nobody responses properly and the customer service was very bad they said to cancel the connection. It takes 3 days for cancellation message ,then again need to apply for a new one. I don't know what they are talking about. Then ask about the compensation they said it's 5.25 pounds per day. It's a very bad broadband company and the services are really really bad. I am very disappointed with this company.

Moved my phone number and line to T/Talk Welcome Pack detailing speed and guaranteed minimum speed etc never sent or T C's. its lower than the minimum. complain, I switch they mail T&C's Welcome Pack, seize my phone number put into quarantine "You can't have it back" then its returned to T/Talk. Service people take calls, only give information displayed on screen even if its false. PC connected to router with cable, still slow, Tether to smart phone works fine, no buffering. T/Talk only quotes T&C's to user, won't own up to its own T&C failures. Nice way to obtain phone numbers and inflict pain having to update contacts with new phone number.

Broadband speeds and reliability not bad very cheap 65mps for £22

The problems start when you have to contact talk talk. Their overall customer service is appalling an arduous task and you are always going round in circles repeating the same information over and over and over and over again

It wasnt that fast. Ok. But i had my phone if i couldnt get. on. My problem was at the end. My contract ended. 31 dec 2022. I paid the dec set payment as no extras. Like tv or phone. I rung up hard to get through. Got through i said i want to make sure u cancel. He said he would help with that. Abit of a quiet time and he put phone down. Tried again but couldnt get through. Went on chat. Had chats saying cancel after they were not going guantee cheaper. So i said cancel. They were passing here and there so went on trustpilot to get a respone as desperate to get it ended. They replied i said u know i want it ending contract left my details. Risky. Took them off once got answer. Spoke to supervisor saying not got cancellation so £43. I said not paying it we were argueing. He didnt get any where and i didnt. They decided they would continue with service. I unplugged and wanted it out of house. One chat said bag would come to return which i am waiting. I phoned consumers they said my rights were if they were continueing u have to receive pre contractual information. So i didnt get so due to that i have over a year to cancel. I sent direct message and a letter recorded delivery telling them what my rights were so i am canceling.. Not heard anything. Couple of days ago i get the boardband starting it was up and running at my request but i hadnt requested it. Its still unplugged. It feels like bullying. Talking over u with it being pushed on u. I have new provider and decided to go through the switch to make things easier. Got a few messages that i screen shot. I cancelled direct debit after dec payment as i read money had come out of some peoples accounts. They r dishonest. The trick is not confirming the end of service./ Contract then. He said we havent got any cancelation £43 so u owe £43. I feel its money by deception fraud. They r criminals. I wont be using them again. I may of done but never again as i have contract when it ends i look for deal. Here there and every where. But never will go back to talktalk I didnt know this sort of thing happened. Now i want to cancel in 6 months in advance with new provider. . As its scared me..

I placed a home move order at the end of November for the 19th December 2022 (more than 3 weeks notice) and still don't have internet access now (10/1/2023).
My partner and I both work from home and we have had to use our phones over this period, costing us quite a bit of money.
I have called at least 5 times and been passed around teams and have no resolution for my order. They first told me 5-7 days, so I would have internet access at the end of December, this would have been ok but it didn't happen due to no reason. I was then told the start of January, still no internet. Then I was told 24-48 hours and guess what, still no internet. I was then told 5-7 days (again) and still no internet.
I have just been on the phone with them for over an hour and a half and what they have told me is that there was a system error and they need to cancel the order to then place a new one. Why wasn't this the resolution the first time I called?
They are beyond useless and have cost me a fair bit of money. Their customer service is useless as I have had to call many times to get close to an answer.
I have never left a review for anything before, but I had to leave this just so people avoid these idiots.

Awfull had to pay 42.50 for slowest internet ever.
Also when called to change package they kept asking for non existing account email address and phone number....
After 1h of talking they didn't sovle and of my issues.
Had to cancel them and go to other provider who have two times better internet speeds and twice as cheap prices.
My advice dont waste your time with them, they dont care about customers

Booked for installation on the 19th of December was told would be installed on the 6th of January.
Nothing happened on 6th of January. Tried to call was asked if I was paying a bill and customer team unable to communicate well with me. Was told I would be updated on the 10th. Called on the 9th to find out what was going on told an update on the 13th of January. Turning into the full of January without any internet service. Told me I’m unable to cancel my order and go with another company.
