So terrible! I rang about every other day complaining about how slow it was and the costumer service was all from india and sounded like those scammers!!! They did nothing to help and after 2months we went back to Virgin Media and it was so much better! Dont use TalkTalk use Virgin

Been with TT for a number of years after a series of errors upon errors decided to try a different provider on the basis - 'they can't be worse'!! The overseas call centers, rubbish equipment that fails and they do not replace - go buy your own - coupled woth a complaints handling process designed to make you give up - I am off.

I have had problems with broadband with talk talk I spent several hours on the phone they are robotic make promises and dont keep them they are soooooo frustrating to deal with. There cus serve team are not in the uk so the language and understand is not good at all. I am fed up of how band they are and how my issues have been going on for weeks without a resolution. I am sick to death of them so I am cancelling my contract with them. I would never recommend a co like this to any one. Soooo difficult to deal with it is beyond any words. I would never use them again ever or recommend them

Absolutely shocking company, staff you can’t understand or can’t understand you, broadband goes down all the time which means no tv, as they failed to say needed an aerial to watch freeview, I have asked to speak to a manager who then decided to cough constantly down the phone not once did he move or cover his mic absolutley disgraceful! And stuck in a contract AVOID AVOID AVOID TALK TALK SHOULDNT EVEN BE ALLOWED TO TRADE !!

I've just finished my contract with talk talk. Many problems throughout the contract. Slow to unavailable speeds of internet. Prolonged waiting period for customer service. Every employee has a different story. They signed me in for renewal for 18 months for an increased price without any sort of authorisation whatsoever. They introduce themselves as David, Lee and Mark when they clearly are not. They are Asians. I have no idea why they would do that. You might as well pay a little extra and have a headache-free experience. Absolutely pathetic company and customer service. Never again.

Broadband very slow and un reliable speed, customer services terrible and spent hours/ days on the phone over a couple of years trying to resolve snail pace internet. Needed a new box, even offered to pay for this, and was refused. Be aware that any speeds logged on Talk Talk speed tester cannot be accessed when making a complaint. Told to log these on this site which I did for over a year, after independent complaint review because Talk Talk chose not to submit these as evidence, and I couldn't/ don't have access to these weren't taken into account (a total scam). Can honestly say that this has been the worst and most frustrating experience of my life, repeating myself on every call and re inventing the wheel with different customer services advisers. Never again, horrendous.

Talktalk is the most disappointing and frustrating service I have ever dealt with. I have spent hours on the phone with the helpline and they are anything but helpful! Just robots following a script and giving you the same answers telling you that your problem has been resolved, then having to call up and go through the whole process again as it was never resolved in the first place. I had to do this three times and it's still not resolved to this day.
Then when I called up to end my contract because of there poor services I spent another 2 hours on the phone. They were reluctant to pass me over to the manager, I had to ask multiple times and when I did get through to the manager she was absolutely useless as well, no help whatsoever - it was like talking to a robot who just repeated the same thing. I can't get out of this contract for another year without paying hundreds of pounds! They offered me a whole £9 off. So I have to just deal with them and there average WiFi that has its ups and down for the next year till I can change my provider.
If you are reading this then please don't think I am a keyboard warrior that just complains for the sake of it, this is my only way of complaining as the helpline don't resolve my complaints.
A truly truly terrible service provider with useless staff that either don't know how to do there job or just don't care.
Please do yourself a favour and choose another WiFi provider as talktalk will let you down massively and cause you nothing but anger and stress.

My telephone service was unavailable from the 21 October until the 8 November. TalkTalk has signed up to the Automatic Compensation Scheme, whereby they have to pay compensation within 30 days without the customer having to apply for it. Compensation is payable for every day after the service has been down for more than 2 days.

After 30 days I hadn't heard anything so I contacted them and after 45 minutes discussion they agreed compensation would be paid on my next bill. The next bill arrived on the 18 December and there was no compensation. I contacted them again and had to go through the whole process again. After 50 minutes the customer service rep said her manager had agreed that compensation was due and would be in my account the following day. After a week the compensation still hadn't been paid.

Using the company's complaint procedure I made a formal complaint on the 22 December. I received an acknowledgement of my complaint and was advised an Manager would contact me within 3 working days to discusss it. 4 working days passed and nobody had contacted me. I raised the issue again and was adivised the same thing: a Manager would contact me within 3 working days. That was 4 days ago and still no one has contacted me.

TalkTalk has a legal obligation to pay compensation but they are doing everything to avoid paying. I presume they think I will go away. I won't.

As far as during last 2 years I had issue only once with my internet connection and I couldn't complain before, today I have change my mind completely. Tried to close my account as moving to a new property where the internet is provided. Couldn't do it on their website as the continue button didn't work, tried online chat and after 20 mins of thousand of questions I have been given the number to call as this is a procedure(such a waste of my time they could tell me that before!). Tried to call the number 3 times, every time I finally manage to speak to someone it disconnected me and went silent from nowhere! 4th time, speaking to a lady who were speaking fast and completely not clear, so I told her to speak slower and she started to almost spell the words like I am an idiot which I told her to speak slower and she treated me like I am an idiot. While talking about my situation with cancelling SHE WAS YAWNING INTO THE PHONE!!! Very rude, very unprofessional and won't be recommending TalkTalk to anyone anymore as I used to before after such a bad experience.

Utterly, utterly, utterly shocking service. Broadband itself ok, but the entire experience around it has been so miserable, with them overcharging me, delaying start dates and losing records of my complaints that I feel angry and helpless. There is no recourse or proper regulator it seems. Truly atrocious.

Possibly the worst internet out there. If you’re thinking that you should go for talk talk to save money... don’t, you’re better off going without internet as it’ll make no difference having none vs being with talk talk. Choose to pay an extra £5 a month and you’ll be much happier with your moneys worth.

Changed to BT 3 routers later. Call centre can't speak or understand English. All they do is tell you to restart your router then order you a new one. Anlbsolute waste of time and money spent on calls... furious

Absolutely shocking service, been waiting for 10 days for them to connect our broadband, which is fair enough. Called them up as it wasn’t live on the 10th dAy. They said it would be another 5-7 working days. Called them after 7 working days were up, got told it was going to be another 3-5 working days. After 5 days called to ask if we can cancel as still had no broadband as they promised. Got told we couldn’t cancel and was going to be Another 3-5 days. After 5 days still no broadband. So we called up and eventually was able to cancel out of our contract, due to their poor service. Would not recommend to anyone!

From the moment I signed up to a one-year contract I knew I had made a mistake. Text messages and emails just kept coming "reminding" me that an engineer would visit to fit a new socket. Then, once up and running the connection kept dropping out.. Even with their tech support going around and around in circles trying to convince me that the problem had been solved, the connection kept dropping out for the entire contract term.

I tried to inform them of a change of address, and the call centre staff didn't seem to understand the concept of moving home.

Cancelling your broadband at the end of the contract?? Think again! Over three hours on multiple calls and still only spoke to one person who tried to transfer me to someone else, who promptly hung up. Sent two emails to their "concerns" email and ended up sending an abrupt email to the CEO Tristia Harrison. No idea if they ever got them - never got a reply, but it seems that my only option is to cancel the Direct Debit after the 12 months of payments and I'm clear of the contract.

Coming up to 28 days now of poor internet speeds and losing connection, if you contact them to ask what’s going on all they do is run a line test every time. I got transferred around 3 different departments which every one of them then completed a ‘line test’ even tho each over one on the phone did it, then it’s always please allow 24-48hrs and ring us back !!!!! So over Christmas and new year my household have had no internet service which had been a struggle especially for my children Christmas Day. Utter shambles do not use them

DO NOT JOIN this company!!! Waste of time and money. They don’t provide a service , their service is a joke, I am treated as a joke . I have one month with them and my internet went down 6 times!!!!!! For opening tv is taking about 5 min not saying about Netflix you have time to make a shower. Every time spend hours chatting with their service team to investigate why my internet not working . Same questione same answers not fixed problem. One of their team members blamed my phone

I've always had issues with the speed so I purchased a speed boost, this didn't boost it very much, top speed was about 30 Meg in my area,the many devices I have connected kept dropping out, at first when my contract was up I decided to stay due to the hassles of changing over, so I reluctantly renewed, believeing things would stay the same they gave me no indication during renewal that my speed boost would be cancelled, I discovered this in the email they sent me confirming renewal, my speed boost was cancelled within days, so my overall speed dropped to less than 20mbps, I contacted them asking why they said my new package didn't support the speed boost, luckily I was within the 7 day cooling off period so I cancelled after being passed to several departments first. Absolutely shocking customer service, I was paying 32 quid a month for that, now I pay Vodafone broadband 23 quid for a top speed that I get frequently of 59mbps and don't get the drop out issue! Just glad I read the email within the cooling off period. Never will I return to them again. They are cowboys!

Worst service ever, will not come back even it’s was free for life..lol. It’s start when I decide to leave them on 29/9/2019 becas. Of moving home. So I told them that I am leaving. month after the month I am still with them? Shocking. I have been with them since july 2019. I am having to get in touch most months to get internet working again. This is such a waste of my time. I rely on internet for work and am sick and tierd of the poor reliability.

The internet has cut out twice within the last two weeks overnight. I have had to use their chat function to get it back running again. They then spent an hour and a half running tests to try amd fix issue. Nothing was sorted was told to monitor over 48 hours.

I change provider at end of every contract and have used nearly all of them. This is the worst level of service I have experienced to date. Truely awful.

Talk talk TV is so slow I wish I never bothered with it!! Simple channel changing is so slow you could make a coffee and still have to wait for the screen to load!!! If you go out all day when you want to watch tv an app like Netflix it say internet is down it’s just a waste of time!! Save your faustration and go with another supplier!

I've only just joined Talktalk but regret it already. I've had over ten text messages and emails completely contradicting what the phone operators tell me. Their communication is awful.
I think I'm still in the cooling off period. If the engineer doesn't visit today as promised I'll cancel

Would give 0 stars if possible! Extremely unreliable with signal dropping for about 30minutes at least 4 times a day. Speeds are slower than advertised at most times but not so bad that it's unusable. The reliability is the main issue, honestly haven't experienced internet this unreliable since the 90's.

The costumer service is dreadful. Spent 30 minutes going through a dated phone system which kept asking for my talktalk home telephone number, which I don't have as we've only got broadband, with no way to skip this question. When I finally got through to a man, his comprehension of my English (with no strong accent mind you) was poor, and he kept going on about my speed no matter how much I tried to tell him reliability was the issue. Seemed like he'd been given a script to recite, but it was very difficult to understand his poor English.

I've previously been with Sky and Virgin at other houses, and will be going back as soon as this contract ends, looking from other reviews on this site I'm not even going to try to end it early!

tl;dr: THE SINGLE WORST BROADBAND PROVIDER IN THE UK, POSSIBLY EUROPE - STAY FAR AWAY!

You didn't do your job, your job was to check with my supplier to see if they had tied me in.

Your operator came here and didn't set me up on my laptop.
When I didn't get full service I checked my internet and found I was still with my previous supplier. I tried to change it and ended up with No internet all day.
Your operator put a box on my wall, I will have holes.
I spent HOURS calling you, holding on and listening to musac, I had Things To Do, the entire day was wasted - I had to call my supplier too, thet called me, I called them, I called you, you called me...
At the end of a very frustrating day, a woman, after telling her I cannot go to Talk Talk, and telling her why, told me she would
Take £5 OFF MY NEXT BILL.
I was ready to SCREAM.

Oh and, when I eventually found the number to call you
was asked key in YOUR LANDLINE NUMBER! Why Landline??

You think Everyone has a Landline? You don't know that many people don't pay for a landline And a Mobile, people have MOBILES.
So what was I to do?
After wasting all day I was MADE to listen to your recorded message repeating himself, asking me to key in my Landline Number if I had ANY chance of speaking to someone, this went on and on and my frustration with my wasted day and people taking hours to grasp and settle the problem, grew and grew until Finally someone answered.. but this wasn't the end... I was sent a pre-recorded text message..

I was Exhausted and still feel it today.

I am writing this because hopefully you will understand, also I do not want another wasted day tomorrow. I will call you and you will know exactly my complaint, I hope..

No one has called me and BOTH numbers want me to key in MY LANDLINE NUMBER which I DO NOT HAVE.

When things go wrong we try to put them right as quickly as possible. So we’ve been trying to call you about your recent complaint.

If you could give us a call back as soon as you can on 0345 1720 088 (free from your TalkTalk landline) or 0203 441 5550 (national rate number) between 8am and 8pm, we’ll do everything we can to get things sorted.

Talk Talk say they Don't Know Anything About my complaint,

They think it is Just about an iternet issue and want to pass me to Technical Support.

TALK TALK HAVE SHOWN THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN MY COMPLAINT, THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT SEEN IT ON HERE, THEY ARE LIARS. THEY SAY THEY CALLED ME ON MY LANDLINE, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE, I DO NOT HAVE ONE. THEY SAY THEY CALLED ME ON MY MOBILE - I HAVE NOT HAD ANY MISSED CALLS.

The called me yesterday, Saturday, and having told them of my terrible experience told me they were not going to compensate me, they just wasted my time AGAIN. Why call me at ALL? They're despicable an absolute disgrace.

The worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Cannot help via phone / app / text. Speaks over me 24/7. Asked to change payment date and they charged me 2 late payment fees. Broadband speed is the worst ever and hardly works yet they can’t do anything about it. When my contract was up I was going to cancel but they had already started a new contract for me so I cannot get out of it and could not do anything about it. Disgusting! Can’t wait to leave them id rather have no broadband than be with them

The worst company ever it don't even deserve that one star honestly. I purchased a deal, a basic broadband with them for £19.99. Then after two days saw online the same offer for £17.95. So I called to cancel and told them I will book it online. The customer service agent I spoke to said no need to do that I can change the price for so I agreed. Once the wifi was set up I realised how terrible the connection was but it says it will take them 14 days to figure out the right speed for my area, So I waited. Then I realised I got charged £22.58. The speed didn't get any better. So I decided am not happy with the service I would like to leave. I was told have a 20 days cooling of period so I called to cancel. Only to get the manager telling me that the 20 days cooling off period starts from the day I got the deal not from the installation date. And that I will not get a refund for the £22.58. Then when I tried to tell her this is unacceptable and I need them to refund my money and cancel the contract she said I will get someone to call you back in 2-3 days to explain to you but you will not receive your refund and hunged up the phone. Am not even sure if that was a manager I spoke no manager would behave like that.

Worse broadband ever. We ordered it 1.5 months ago and it has been working 20% of the time. 80% of the time it has not been working. Provider blames a variety of issues. One day is loose cables in a electric cupboard the next day it is downtime in the area. Will never use it again and won*t recommend it to anyone

An absolute nightmare of a company to deal with,a disgrace to be honest I would strongly advice not to join talk talk unless you have all the time of the day to be stuck on the phone you get a feel of how they work as they pass you threw every department (managers never seem to be available you’ll struggle to get to that department). Moved home not a problem they said you will go live on the 1st Which is just under 2 weeks away. I explained how my wire fit in the router but was a different connection to the modem/ little white box on your wall in your house that the internet passes threw then on to the router, I was told they would send an engineer but I would have to phone back on the day I went live I explained that we know there is a problem we know I’m goin live on the 1st so can you not book an engineer for after that date rather than phoneing back on the live date and being told our next available appointment isn’t for weeks away. Hence we know there is a problem we know your goin live this date we will get an engineer to get you up and running as soon as after that, no not talk talk that would be too easy. I then receive a text the following day telling me the 7th is my live date. Knowing I’ve then got to wait how ever long after that for an engineer to come out. I phoned hell/talk talk. To be passed threw 5 different departments with 3 of the 5 people telling me. You go live on the 1st. Next department,you go live on the2nd. Next department, no it’s the 7th you go live and we can’t book you an engineer until that date. I was on the phone for 1 hour and 8 mins the 1st call and 1 hour and 2 mins on the 2nd call. The outcome I go live on the 7th and I’ll have to phone back on the day to make another appointment I would of cancelled my contract but had to pay over £100 to cancel. numerous online chat where the engineers have no phone, just get cut off. i have recorded 18 such conversations

avoid like the plague bunch of fraudsters

Worst company ever. I found out by chance they owe me a refund since 2017 (of course, because why would they make is easy and refund automatically?) and I can't get them to refund it to me without calling expensive numbers to talk to someone. I've been told thay would call me back but never did. Meanwhile they keep my money!!! CROOKS!!!
