After being a member of TalkTalk for over 20 years and actually quite happy with their broadband service only to find out that they have been over charging me for years!

Recently, an incident happened where the gardener accidentally cut our phone / WiFi line. One would have thought this was bad luck but in hindsight its a blessing since it has brought to light the awful customer services that TalkTalk has and how they don't actually look after their existing customers. Any reputable and good company would see their customers as an asset and work for their well-being but not TalkTalk - this company is just here to rip you off.

I am actually loathed to giving any stars above - but without giving 1 stars I can't submit this form!

WORST ever broadband supplier . Not even worth leaving a review . Have since switched to BT which is a MILLION times better and will NEVER go back to TALKTALK . They even SCREWED me for £75 for leaving them after 4 years , thanks for nout TALKTALK .

I have had several episodes of having no broadband. On one occasion for six weeks.
I have been on the phone for over an hour on many occasions trying to get through to customer services
When there is an issue with them understanding what you are saying, they simply put down the phone.

Awful from the start. Messed up my installation and actually cancelled it instead of changing the date leaving me without internet for months.
Connection speed of only 3mb yesterday!!
Ive paid got a kids boost tv package and havent recieved any working kids channels for 2 years. Also paying more than any of their advertised plans and getting hardly anything for it!
Dont get TalkTalk! Worst choice i made for internet providers

Worst broadband supplier I came across, avoid at all cost.
Customer service is not existant.
Still have problems to cancel with them, even that is not easy.
Don't get into cheap, but very deep trap.
This is a genuine review, don't even think of falling to that....
Please avoid, go somewhere else

Overall a very bad broadband. Every 5 - 30 minutes my internet stops working and spikes to 1000ms whilst I'm playing a game. It's very frustrating. It took me about 50 seconds to load this page because the internet is literal dog ****. Today I can't even play any games or load youtube without waiting 2 minutes. My ping is 200 - 1000ms.

Literally every 5 - 10 minutes my internet has a problem. The wifi stops working and whilst I'm playing a game my ping spikes to 1000ms for about 10 minutes which is frustrating. Today, I can't even play a game because I'm always lagging 200 - 1000ms. X

I am so feed up with this company. I have been customer for more than three years and they still act on the same way than the first day,so witch I thought that could be just some mistakes from this internet provider company it is actually rutinary behaviours to confuse people and sell their products.

Yesterday, I spend more than two hours in a chat conversation explaining my current issue witch is that I depend on the installation of my broadband and also a upgrade of it otherwise I will lose my job to witch they did not respond accord at all to the gravity of the situation,the person at the other side of the chat would agree with my certain term for the new contract and then on the moment of closing the contract he will change everything trying to make me start a new contract of 18 month and not considering at all the need of an immediate service a need, witch on my opinion it's a clear intent of confusing the customers and trying to scam them. After realising this I would ask the person to put me through a supervisor several times but he didn't want to do it answering back with questions of another nature, once I got hold of the supervisor and after talking with him for a while He give exactly the same treat and at the end this person stop answering for 15 minutes waiting for the time they close the chat. I consider my self lucky to have a minimum of English to realised what they were trying to do but I can imagine foreings as I am or people of the third age buying for all this and when it happened we are completely powerless as the big companies like this one's will never lose against the people that contract their services.

Worst UK Internet provider by far. When we moved, they cut off our internet 4 days before we had scheduled it in a phone call. They owe us £50 but only (eventually) refunded £17, after infuriating and pointless phone calls and chats.

One of the worst company's ever. There customers service is disgusting and non existent. There service is poor and there where constant drops in connections and various other issues. When our contract finally ended we moved to a fabulous new provider (there are many to choose from these days) however talk talk didnt end our contract and have now sent bailiffs after us for £40. If you want a life full ofnhassel and crap join talk talk broadband!

The Worst ever network.My contract ended on May 7th and I requested via talk talk chat team to cancel my contract by April itself,but itnot cancelled.Then they said its my fault as I didn't call customer care.It was a joke that their customer bcoz their customer care was not opened.Is it my fault???Then they sent me bill of £34. I paid and said to cancel.They cancelled it and sent me another bill of £30(am not using talk talk from April2nd,but still bills coming because of their irresponsibility)as final bill and the mail says I need to renew my service to fix the bill. what a joke on this earth. They are looters. My experience with their network was very bad. not at all I get a good service throughout the year and am still paying even though am not using it. The worsssst customer service and company ever..

Please stay away from TALKTALK. I have used broadband internet in several country but TALKTALK is the worst company I have ever dealt with.Very very slow Broadband. They charged me for several reason. Be aware 1 mouths before your contract end cancel your account otherwise you still need to pay them.

Worsted company I have ever dealt with. Emails to them BOUNCE. They will not talk to me over telephone. They have my name and send emails to someone else. I have auctioned small claims court writ. I cancelled our account on 20th march. They still say they have not received anything from me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Very Slow Broadband 1-3mgb/s with frequent drop out points. Initial view from Talk Talk was it was BTOpenreach despite the fact the phone line was working - then shipped out a new router. 5 weeks and fault still not resolved. Interestingly Vodafone 4G hotspot gives up to 25mgb/s .... save yourself the hassle go to the solution...

We have been with TalkTalk for over 8 years, in 2 properties. I can say that the contracted speeds are nearly always maintained and their service is excellent.
The only problems we have is that (1) the Customer Service staff on the phone seems like they cannot deviate from their contact script and quite often English must not be their first language. However, over the years I have found that the best way to contact them is through the on-line chat. It gives both sides time to think what needs to be communicated without getting heated. (2) We live on the sea front and the Openreach distribution point gets the very strong winds and rain which have been known to disrupt the service.
I lost the Internet completely at the beginning of July 2020 and an Openreach Engineer was round two days after reporting the fault (on the Friday). He said that the fault was in the overhead phone line and would be back the next Monday to replace the line. He couldn't do it there and then as it was a two man job. The phone line was replaced with minimum mess and disruption.
Well done TalkTalk and Openreach.

The worst experience I have ever hd with a broadband supplier. I stupidly opted for an 18 month contract with the quality of internet connection and poor speeds meaning I spent hours trying to get out of the contract with TalkTalk representatives constantly finding excuses not to honour my contracts minimum speeds (not to mention I seemed to be hung up on frequently prompting the call process having to restart)
Eventually I gave up on the whole process and just lived with poor quality internet but even after my contract they made cancelling exceedingly difficult with having to call on specific days and go through a gauntlet of different people just to escape their ineptitude.

I absolutely would never recommend this service and it needs completely rebuilt.

I changed from Vodafone to TALK TALK, my broadband worked from the start and is providing everything I need, no problems at all, they are a very reliable Company, they do provide a good service, I wouldn't go anywhere else, stay away from Vodafone

So rude customer service. Send a engineer a month before ends of contract. Lied i booked it. Later on lied engineer want from talktalk. San from customer service already put complaint for him. Rising voice for 56minutes of phone call. 25mb/s speed instead of 70 promised. Never again. I have back to sky. Thank god for that.

absolute joke. engineer was meant to come and fit a new broadband line today and they havent showed up. no one has bothered to contact us and now after speaking to someone for half an hour the staff are now being rude and disrespectful towards myself and my son who is trying to handle the situation on the phone. i work night shifts as a key staff worker and have not been to bed as i have been waiting for the engineer to come and fix the broadband. i would like to be contacted and speak to someone who isnt a moron and can handle the situation that your staff have put us in. i am already owed money from the many countless mistakes that you have made during the 2 years that we have been loyal regardless of the mistakes you have made

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Intermittent service and slower than minimum promised speeds on a regular basis.

I now speak to their useless customer services team on a regular basis (daily....sometimes up to 3 hours) to only get the same issue over and over.

Pretends to care about the customer but when questioned with logic always seem to try and find an excuse to end the call/chat by promising a manager will call. Surprise surprise no call ever comes through so as a customer you are back at square one calling their useless team again. Its an endless loop with no route to solution.

I am now waiting until I can cancel their contract which will take me another 30 days. honestly the worst service I have ever had and I have flown Malaysian airlines.

Horrendous customer service experience. After spending 10 mins over phone just to verify account, spending another 15 mins to conduct some test , the customer service says "their" systems are down and I should call back in another 2 hours. Asked to transfer to cancellation team and then put on hold for another 5 mins just for some one else to pick up the phone. Horrible IT set up for an internet service provider company.

We were with BT who were hopeless so changed to Talk Talk . I am a retired doctor and live on a farm about 200 meters from Main Road , All services are poor or non existent, but the Broadband is completely hopeless , maximum I have managed is 0.5 MBPS Download , 0.3 mb Upload from a normal phone wire . It is impossible to surf the net etc . Only thing we manage is email and WhatsApp . Nothing

I moved into a new house and waited 4 weeks for someone to install the broadband. no one showed up. no one in customer service would assist me or rebook a date to have someone come. they even lost my order number in the system. i have never dealt with worse customer service in my life

I will not expand on why I have tried to give zero stars, the reasons are already posted on here many times. If you’re considering Talktalk, before you sign up, try to contact them by email, or phone, but give yourself at least half an hour before you make progress, and don’t expect much progress.

Absolutely disgusting company. Due to an internal error they cancelled our broadband package so we have been without wifi now for 5 days. They have failed to rectify the issue that THEY caused and are trying to say we aren’t talk talk customers because it was cancelled so they can’t help. Definitely do not go with talk talk.

Talk Talk constantly go down and they are super unhelpful! We pay for 27MBPS and we actually get about 4MBPS according to every broadband speed checker apart from theirs which always say theres no problems (unsurprisingly). Talk Talk is by far the most unreliable and unhelpful broadband weve ever been with. I’m writing this review through my mobile data because my internet is shockingly down. Easily twice a month it will go down. Ive just rang to cancel and the rude lady with ZERO customer service skills didn’t like it when i told her all this and told her I've just joined BT with a speed guarantee. Avoid at all cost!

Just a horrible, horrible company.

I cancelled our internet using Facebook message on the 14th of June, I gave all the required information. Name, address, account number and phone number.

Talk talk came back and insisted I have not passed security and kept sending me a link to login into some portal even though I told them repeatedly that I had forgotten my login details.

They then hounded my wife so much by text that she became quite upset, I explained this to talk talk but they did not care they just sent a FINAL DEMAND message which has now upset my wife even more.

This company is money grabbing and ruthless, they are only interested in one thing - money.

Just avoid them please.

Here's a story for you.

We were with Bt but moved house. Bt unfortunately messed everything up so we decided to switch from Bt to Talk talk, What a mistake that was, turns out that Bt was the least of our troubles.

After initially speaking to talk talk it was explained that although our new house had a phone line, there was no master socket and one needed fitting. All good and a engineer will be with us on the 30th the day it all goes live.

Turns out this was complete ********, and this is where all the lies started. Firstly in 2 seperate conversations on the 30th we was told that an engineer will be with us as soon as the account goes live, turns out this was about as true as prince andrews trip to pizza express, and no engineer turned up.

Morning of the 31st we call up to see what happened. They apparently couldn't activate the line due to no dial tone and therefore couldn't activate our account or line till an engineer comes out to install the master socket. The same master socket we were told could not be fitted till line was activated. Now i'm no genius but that leaves us in a bit of a conundurm, a weird twilight zone with no internet available. Maybe bearable if my 11 year old step son wasn't a fortnite obsessed kid who is probably going to hold this against his mother and me in his upcoming teenage years which results in years of rebeliousness and our impending doom. Anyway..

I decided that may be talk talk wasn't for me, I called them up on friday after work to explain that they were rather unhelpful and the lies didn't help, so therefore i would like to cancel. That's where "kevin" if that's his real name informed me that i can't cancel as my account is not active yet, Now i suspect that kevin wasn't expecting me to send him round in circles looking for the standard answers on the sheet in front of him. But to say i confused the poor lad is an understatement.

He eventually gave me a number for the Joining support team. Who i eventually got through to and cancelled my account and should receive an email in 24 hours. Guess what? No email received.

Skip to today the 3rd August, I get a phone call from my partner to inform me that openreach are here to fit the master socket. Well well well, talk talk seems you trying to tempt me to stay, unfortunately for you this isn't 3pm in a nightclub and i haven't just done 5 shots of tequila. I will be attempting to cancel what feels like an illicit affair again tonight and hopefully will make some progress.

I have been with various different incarnations of the company. Starting with Homechoice, which was bought by Tiscali, and then bought by TalkTalk.

The standard of customer service has gone downhill significantly each time they were acquired. TalkTalk customer service is abysmal - probably the worst I have had from any company. They casually overcharge you, are nearly impossible to get hold of, and make zero effort to make any effort to help on Twitter or their patronising mods on their forum.

2020 has been a tough year for lots of companies, TalkTalk is making their year all the harder by being so bad at customer service. Wouldn't surprise me if they got bought by someone else.

The broadband itself is ok, but not particularly reliable. Most of the extra service they offer through their TV they are basically channelling through NOW TV.

So if you are looking for someone to provide all your services together - go elsewhere for better customer service and broadband, and just add on Now TV, Netflix etc through other routes. If you're just looking for great broadband - again looks elsewhere, this is average and not very reliable.

Any older relation had landline even tho the bills where being paid, at the start of lockdown they disconnected her line. Leaving her with no phone during lockdown as engineer couldn't come out and reconnect. This also ment her emergency pendant stopped working. They reason for disconnecting was they didnt here reply from her. Now we going with BT had to pay to get it reconnect

One of the worst experiences ever. Talktalk is horrendous is deal with. The set up arrived on time but the ultra fast broadband I booked in unfortunately wasn't able to reach its full capacity due to our area. We were advised to contact talktalk to downgrade our broadband. No help from customer service and without warning, they just cancelled our broadband. We endured another 10 calls over the next few days try and get it all up and running again and it couldn't be switched back on. Every person we dealt with in customer service was equally unhelpful and no one had a clue what was going on as there's no communication their end or notes on the account. I regret ever dealing with talktalk and hope I never have to deal with the company again. Not worth the time.

TalkTalk are fine while things run smoothly but when there is a problem or changes are required their Customer Service department are totally useless. They will try very hard to misconstrue anything that you say and will work constantly to persuade you to go away. It is a pity that they let the Company down so badly when the operations side are reasonably ok. I will certainly look for another supplier when my term is up.

Genuinely the most frustrating broadband. Communication with the customer service is difficult. We did not have Wi-fi for two months and then decided to cancel as it was getting ridiculous and they wanted us to pay £150 cancellation fee. Would not recommend TalkTalk to anyone!

Dear All
I would like to share my experience with TalkTalk .
After a long time with my previous internet provider i decided to switch, which as it turns out was a very bad idea (at least with choosing this company).
I did apply online on the 19th of June and being informed that i will go live with TalkTalk on the 6th of July which obviously never happen , not only didn't have the service i wasn't even had the router by that time . Considering the situation of Covid-19 i was patient and wait but after two days my previous provider stop the services leading me with nothing .
After waiting 2 hours i was lucky to have a response from someone on the online chat and being told that on the 8th (two days after they haven't even post the router ).
Previous week i called and ask to cancel my order as they failed completely of their promises and i was informed that i cannot do that because as they said they send me another router believing my first one was faulty , i was advice to wait another 3-5 working days , 9 days had gone and nothing is been delivered , so as i clearly see that the are fooling me i call them again asking for the cancellation of my order ending up the person on the phone hang up to me as soon as i told them that i will send my lawyer
As i would not like to make my story massive i will take you straight to today been 3 and a half weeks with no internet in my household and every time i contact TalkTalk in any way (online chat, phone, email ) the only reply i get is that i have to wait 3-5 days more and that they are really sorry !
In conclusion the customer service is beneath zero , help support poor and Management team absent !

customer for three years.Very poor. weekend WiFi non existent. During the week very patchy. Complained to costumer service on several occasions minimal improvement for couple of days then back to normal. Got fed up and found another provider for the same price with reliable services. Only now released what I was missing. I have £14 left after finalizing my account with them and they have not reimbursed it. Well ridden.
