The broadband provided by Talktalk has always be slow and the technical support you receive during your contract is poor to say the least. But once you try to change providers. The service will suddenly be come non-existence and they will try to blame whoever you are changing to , even though you are still under contract to them and paying for faster broadband. I would not recommend Talktalk to anyone

Connected in Dec 18 and I am so disappointed.no where near speeds promised but a good enough signal however have failed to provide the £75 voucher promised via USwitch within 90 days. Hours on the phone,many promises and it now about 130 days and another promise it will be sent out in 14 days.Have now contacted ombudsman and seeing if can leave for breach of contract.

I was a long time customer of talktalk, why? Price. That's the only good part of being with talktalk. Where to begin with the bad? Well, half a year in to my first contract, I had no internet signal whatsoever. I contacted talktalk, who said there was no issue, I must have set up the router wrong, when I questioned how it had been running fine for 6 months if I set it up fine, the agent started to state I was lying about the issue. Engineer was finally sent out 2 weeks after my 1st complaint, and it was found that the wire beyond my property boundary had been completely severed! So I most surely was not lying, which talktalk were trying to accuse me of doing.

After this, I was offered compensation and an upgrade on my package for a 12 month period, which I accepted. When moving from the property to a property that had Virgin already installed, I called talktalk to inform them of the move and to enquire how much it would cost to finish the contract early, expecting to have a few months left. At this point I found out they'd actually put me on a 24 month contract as opposed to the 12 month upgrade! Which meant that it would be extortionate for me to leave early. I agreed to an engineer attending to remove the virgin equipment and install the talktalk equipment. When arranging I was informed that no one needed to be present at the property when the installation was taking place, I questioned this as there was a different type of connection altogether in place, 2 managers confirmed that I didn't need to be present.

Fast forward a week after I moved property, I get a phonecall whilst at work from the engineer asking where I was, informed him of what I was told, he stated it was wrong, and that he'd have to come back, he told me to request a weekend appointment to fit around my work. I called talktalk to rearrange the visit, to be told I was being hit with a £70 missed appointment fee, which took 3 hours of arguing to expunge, I then attempted to book the new appointment on a weekend, to be told the engineers don't work weekends, and the accusations of the engineer lying started to fly! A few days of calling and arguing i caved and accepted a weekday appointment. Installation then went smoothly.

The next bill arrived, with a £70 fee! More phonecalls, I had to demand an investigation, 2 weeks later I called to be told I was not allowed to know the outcome of the investigation that determined whether I needed to pay a £70 fee for being misinformed by 2 managers, so more arguing ensued. The fee was eventually refunded through means of me not paying a bill for a few months, and a little bit of compensation was given.

An issue that had fallen to the sidelines was the fact that the TV connection was not working, I attempted to resolve this through the online chat, and was met with the same issue I had with the severed cable, 'sir, everything is fine on our end, you have installed the equipment wrong'. I gave up and haven't used the TV package for 14 months even though I pay extra for it.

Fast forward to February of this year, my contract is coming up for renewal!!! Great! I can finally leave talktalk! I contact virgin, get a set up date, they contact talktalk to make them aware I'm leaving. A week before leaving, I get a bill, which is billed a month in advance??? I call talktalk, inform them that I'm leaving a day after the bill is taken, so is the amount correct considering I'm with them for 1 day of that billing month? Yes, £30 for one day is correct, I then had to explain multiple times to the agent that I was leaving, it finally sank in what I was saying, and I was informed that when the transfer was complete I would receive a revised bill and a refund.

Fast forward to today, I've been gone from talktalk since the beginning of this month, and I've just received another bill!!! I contact talktalk to be told I have to pay the bill as my account hasn't been cancelled and it's all my fault for not contacting them 30 days before leaving as '30 day notice is required to leave any contract', I point out that I am no longer in a contract, I am no longer a customer and that I can't pay the bill as the direct debit is cancelled and that they should be paying me!!! 2 hours and still not resolved.

Ofcom will be contacted!

My advice, pay a little extra and go elsewhere, talktalk are a shocking company, if I had one bad experience I wouldn't think anything of it, but it's consistently been a nightmare!!!

They have much lower costs than competitors but it comes with negatives.

My Wi-Fi hub arrived broken in two parts. When I tried to call them, it took over 30 minutes for them to answer. Keep in mind, I called during a weekday in the morning.

OK i called them at 7.30pm they close at 8pm. so each time i called it connected you can hear the mugs in the back. then they put me on mute. lazy tossers can be bothered to take a call. well im definitely leaving them. im not bothered about speeds but this took the piss

Avoid avoid avoid!

These people are crooks, apparently my direct debit was rejected and they added a £12.50 fee to my next bill even though I paid by card the next day. Talked to the bank who said no payment was rejected and I had enough money in my bank to cover the cost.

Talk talk are a bunch of thieves and their foreign customer service people are useless and couldn't care less about customer service.

The worse customer service I have EVER experienced. I signed up with Talktalk because they advised me that I would get a £50 voucher from Tesco. I was meant to get this is January and it is towards end March. I have sent about 7 emails, 7 calls and logged 2 complaints and I get told different things every time I call. STILL have not received it. Its a JOKE

I cancelled before my activation. Talk Talk had given me an Fibre install and activation date (circa 2 weeks from order) - they cancelled on me the night before and said they'd call again in 10 working days to confirm the revised install date. They blamed openreach (BT). So I called BT and asked if they would commit to an install date if bought their broadband instead. They did... and it was all up and running within the week. Easy. TT Customer service was OK during the cancellation but they couldn't seem to find my order number at first which meant confirming my details via other means. it was all just a bit of pain in the rear. Sorry Talk Talk. Pay peanuts, get monkeys

Avoid talk talk broadband, I tuk fast broadband for 12 mounts contract speed is useless have to watch on360p movies, they need only your money thats it, on the end of my contract I leave a mount notice, they still charge me for extra mounts plus double price for no reason , AVOID!!!!!!

Every interaction I have with them sucks a piece of my soul from me and makes me question the very fabric of the capitalism, because surely no company so completely and utterly useless and incompetent could be able to be successful??? Have been with them for 5 years and the service has got steadily worse and worse. They use cheap equipment that quickly breaks and becomes faulty. Have had numerous engineers (often from BT openreach) come out to try and fix problems, They fail to actually fix it and then talktalk just fraudulently charge you for the call out on your next bill. It then takes at least an hour of my time to call them up and claim back the money. As far as I'm concerned repeatedly taking money from my account which by their own rules they are not permitted to take (and which as soon as i call up their indian call centre they agree they shouldn't have taken) is not far off theft. I've now left and I'm STILL having to deal with them. They've taken yet more money they shouldn't have. They agreed to refund me but I've now just got an email saying they've only refunded my talktalk account and not by bank account - i'm not a customer anymore, I'm not getting a service from them anymore, why on earth would i want a dormant talk talk account refunded rather than my actual bank account!! the stupidity borders on insanity and for the sake of your own mental health i recommend avoiding like the plague!!

NEVER USE TALK TALK....

Honestly the worst customer service I have ever recieved in my life. I ordered WiFi to be set up in a flat, it got sent out and the engineer arrived to fit it. Was told it would work from the day talk talk activate it. Never worked....The customer service department are so rude, I have had calls where they have hung up on me due to not knowing what is wrong with my service. They won’t give me my refund which I paid when I signed up to talk talk even though I have not even had 1 second of WiFi. They have arranged for BT openreachj to come out to my apartment a few times and have never shown up. Then to find out that they didn’t have the relevant information in order to get BT reach to come out. Talk talk have had me unscrewing plugs, hours and hours on the phone. Time off work. Honestly you would be mad if you ever went with these cowboys. Just look at the review.

cheap, but when you get a fault its almost impossible to get it fixed, expect to spend at least 1 hr on the call but from experiance you will need to call several times to get it fixed, in my case 6 hrs 5 calls and they just keep asking you to try this try that, they dont understand the line is totally dead. its actually my elderly mothers phone im trying to sort out and she has been in tears over it and im stressed, my advice dont bother with TT

Not only that the broadband was on but in my pc or my phone it says no connection or its says internet way not be available , its been happeing for 5 days.if u guys dont fix up am leaving and go for sky or bt

Support team is useless.
I've had a formal complaint about anonymous caller reject for over 6 months but they have not fixed it. Each time they run through the same script. They expect me to hang on the phone for long periods while they do something else.
One time they called and interupted a call to a friend that I was already on. No warning. They just broke in and disconnected my friend.
It seems they can only work to the script and cannot deviate, even when it is obviously wrong. E.g. calling unable to access the account or mail box, "can you access other web sites? Yes. We will test the line! (It is obviously working!)
Their web pages do not work correctly in any of the common browsers. Their answer is that I should call Microsoft or Google to get it fixed!
It just goes on and on with no effective solutions.

Absolutely discusted yet again with the level of service with talk talk. My partner recently signed up for broadband at a deal for 2 years at 19.95 per month. He has then received an email stating after 18 months it would be 33.50? Has now spent 3 days being passed from pillar to post trying to get through different numbers and various emails with success. He finally managed today to speak to someone in South Africa today after asking to cancel the order. He has been charged for the call after being asked to stay on the line to listen to the t&c. As of yet he has not received any emails stating it has been cancelled.

Nightmare!!!!!!!! DONT DO IT from day 1 I had people calling from customer services asking for private details (no I said you should have them) hung up the phone called T Talk direct they said it wasn’t them!!!!!
Then started receiving emails asking for details again contacted T Talk not them.
I had scammers knocking on my door within hrs the info they used could only have come from T Talk inside security leak.
NIGHTMARE customer services HA HA HA HA what a JOKE hrs hrs hrs wasted contracts up now THANK GOD!!!!

Worst broadband provider I have ever had. Slow internet speeds, accusatory customer service staff and totally inflexible approach. They kept losing the change of ownership and cancellation forms I sent for a property I used to live in, so it took 4 months to eventually cancel the service for a house I didn't live in.

I have been a customer for many years and have just discovered that they are charging me over £40 on a legacy package and have never informed me of much cheaper options, despite my partial sight. My internet has not been working for several days, and I have spent over 5 hours on the phone or the chat section trying to get some answers. They told me they had rung me and left voice messages. There are no missed calls or voice messages only phone. Seriously, I don't think the word customer figures inter business model

Absolutely disgusting customer service and broadband services. Intermittent broadband for the past couple of months with a number of calls made to talk talk to ressolve , after hour long phone calls broadband works great for the following week and then back to the usial rubbish! Phoned again today this time an hour and half call with one of theyre useless technicians who kept telling me he would transfer me to a manager but after 10minuts on hold he would re appear back on the end of the phone trying to fill me with more rubbish!!! Just AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! May seem a good deal and great broadband at first but that soon changes to where it is barely usable.

What a bunch of cowboys. I have been with them 8 years and all I can say is keep an eye on your bills. I found a charge for 6 pounds for a 8 second call I never made. The number didn't even exist . Customer service is awful and based in Thailand. I cancelled my account and am going with bt . May seem cheap but look for hidden charges and service . Never again avoid.

Talktalk assured me that they would switch so My partner wouldn’t pay anything after the switch date. They failed to do the switch and the other provider took money out of her account the following month.

I’ve spent hours of my time trying to get her money back and and have waited 2 months so far and it still isn’t resolved.

They have sent me around in circles, making it as difficult as possible clearly in the hope that I will give up.

This has to be the worst customer service that I have ever experienced.

I will never go with Talktalk again.

Just don’t put yourself through it.

Must have taken 5-10mins just to get one of their employees to get my postcode right!

OMG. Just don't bother with these idiots. This is the worst thing I have ever paid money for in my life. Broadband speed started off at 550. Now we never get over 90-100. Downloads so slow and hogs your entire speed so you can't stream tv AND download at the same time. It keeps kicking me off the net and you can't understand a single word the customer service people are saying - and that's IF you can get past the stupid automated service,which down right lies to you. When you can understand what they're saying, the tie to you too!. These so-and-so's should be taken out and shot. Utter garbage. You should be ashamed of yourselves for your sub-human behaviour. I will sue you! I can't even give you the rating you deserve (0 stars), because you can't rate lower than one star! In fact you are even lower than that.

Absolutely terrible service. They lie all of the time. Everything is a battle with them. They first didn't activate my TV Boost and then didn't take my land-line over but insisted they had. Every phone call lasts over an hour and you get nowhere. Its unnecessarily stressful

I would advise anyone to think before signing up to talk talk in that time I have had no end of problems numerous calls to the call centre witch is not based in the UK it is the worst provider out there I have was offered fiber at £19.95 when I phoned to complain then 2 days later when I called to say that the complaint still was not resolved they offered me the same deal at £25.oo i called today as they sent me out a new router only one of the cables was not the rifght connection and guess what yes they offered me another deal at wait for it £22.95 I am now in the process of looking for a reliable supplier all I can say is avoid .

(Month 3 of contract) Absolute jokes! Added charges of £44 what they decided to kindly add on. Had to be put on to 4 different people to discuss this. Was on the phone for over 30 mins to cancel the service they added on. Now on the phone to person number 5 as they to kindly reimburse me of £4.47

I have just switched from BT to Talk Talk, after more than 20 years of being a BT customer. I had the superfast BB with the smart hub, which worked fine, no problem. only switched as the price hikes were crippling. So, placed the order to switch using the u-switch website, £70 argos voucher as an incentive, price was great, and opted for the full package. All arrived as scheduled, email on day of switch came through while i was at work, and when i came home, sure enough, my BT hub was flashing orange, and I set up the talk talk hub and tv box, with great ease, all instructions were idiot proof, so made the job a breeze.
I have only rated customer sevice with 3 stars, as i have not had to contact directly, but sure that if i had they would have gained a 5 also.
The connection is by far quicker than the connection i was getting from BT and half the price for the same package.
Thank you Talk Talk for making this a stress free experience.

I’ve been with talk talk for years but will NOT be renewing when my current contract expires in November ... why?

Simply because I found my last bill had an increase charge of £4 for “tv services” ? . Had to spend ages getting through to customer services to find out about the extra charges I knew nothing about. It turns out I was informed by email (more than likely it went in my junk folder therefore not read by me) about the £4 monthly charge for extra tv services I did not want or request ! Yes i was told I’d received an email about the charge and I opted out of receiving the new “tv services” BUT my complaint, and why I will be dumping talk talk is because the email should have had the option to opt in for the new @services” rather than just opting me in mandatorily requiring me to pay an extra £4 per month for something I didn’t ask for or want !

Very naughty talk talk, I’m guessing from the chat I’ve seen online that you will be losing many thousands of customers because of your underhand tactics to charge customers more for extra “services” we do not want or need .... and I will be one of them !!!!

Words cannot describe about the appalling service from Talk Talk,this company should be boycotted by its consumers,I’m so glad I moved on to a better broadband provider.Talk Talk does not care for loyalty,I’ve been slapped with an extra surcharge for leaving them despite my contract reaching its end.their call centres are in developing countries,probably because their outsourcing is cheap & with this comes poor service.i regret staying so long with this company & I hope they get their act together before they lose all their customers & go bust.Wheres the communications regulator to investigate their bad customer service?

Just a basic point: I did talk to someone about the increase in the price of my ISP, which was TISCALI, before TT. They offered me an apparently good deal-one will find out!!!!!!!!!!!! I talked to someone who had an accent which reminded me of living in parts of Lancashire-BUT she was in SOUTH AFRICA. I have found this before with other organisations!!!!!
