    The worst customer service ever. Felt ill at the end, and still not even resolved. Took out their broadband and phone. Meant to be online on the 19th, didn't work. Booked an engineer for today - didn't turn up. Eventually got through to talk talk., she told me to phone the engineers, which I did they said it hadn't been booked to call talk talk back!!I arghhh - eventually managed to get through on phone ages. Asked me to go through checks again, said all I wanted was an engineer, said you can't do that, then said I would have to pay ..... took me ages, I could go on and on. Would take too long. But suffice to say, when I begged to speak to someone else, she eventually gave me a number. I phoned and after some confusion, realise that I was through to BT???!!!! After nearly having a nervous breakdown, I get my bill tonight for a month, although even if I was connected, which I am not - even going to 1st June would only be 11days. Unable to get through to anyone to cancel, have cancelled my direct debit but am now worried , if this awful company have any rights to any money from me!! Dreadful experience, the worst customer service ever, I can't stress how awful and upsetting.

    My Story: Was told 'Superfast broadband up to 76Mb/s', It's their best package for all the family. Spoke to a representative before purchasing, was told "to expect over 50Mb/s". So went ahead and signed up. 1st day after installation (yesterday) was getting speeds of 12Mb/s, which is pretty much regular broadband speed. First tried contacting via online chat. Spent at least half an hour just for them to verify me through data protection. It was obviously a foreign agent as his english was very poor. When asked what speeds I can expect he told me 96Kb/s, I then asked "less than 1Mb/s??" to which he never replied after waiting 10 minutes I decided enough is enough. So I then tried their contact centre, took half hour to get through to their cancellations department. By this time I was so fed up I wanted to cancel my contract. Had real difficulty trying to understand the asian lady in the call centre, when she eventually realised I wanted to cancel she said ok, then placed me on hold for 10 minutes. Finally a lady named Allison answered the phone and she was British and very lovely. She told me that there's a problem with my area's connection and she'll get it sorted for me. She said she'd ring me back today and let me know if it was sorted. So she rang me back at 18:00 and said it was all sorted and have I tried it yet. I've been in work all day so hadn't. I trusted her and thanked her, happy to stay with TalkTalk, even though my 1 day with them had been horrific. So I finally just got in... Yep you guessed it, now I have 7Mb/s for £36 a month. I'm getting the impression that all they are trying to do is keep me with them through the 7 day cancellation period. Thats the feeling I had the day on the phone when speaking to the asian lady. So tomorrow before I clean my teeth, shower or anything else, I'm going to be on the phone to TalkTalk cancelling my subscription. From reading other reviews could be a task on it's own. I'll update in a week or two to let you know if I have difficulties with that. For now I beg of you all to stay Far Far Away from TalkTalk.     We’ve been miss-treated through a case of ‘slamming’, multiple phone calls later and accumulating over 6 hours of call time and there is still no response or rectification of the matter, we have logged and documented all the phone calls we have made with no response from your poor customer service team which have hung up on us on two occasions. Both our telephone and internet connection has been cut, our new phone line no longer belongs at our address and we rely on both our phone line and internet connection for our business. We accept that we have been miss-fortunate but the annoying factor is that not one member of the Talk Talk team is willing to help the matter. We have paid our line rental up front for the year as well as paying £11.50 a month which is also up to date so we have absolutely no reason to change provider which is absolutely ludicrous, it has been done without our consent and has caused major inconvenience for our household and our business. If the matter is not immediately rectified we are fully prepared to write numerous letters to Ofcom and take the matter further, we will also use various social media channels to make others aware. This is by far the worst case of customer service we have both witnessed. We have spoken to the occupants who now ‘obtain’ our house number and they stress it is extremely inconvenient for themselves.

    All we ask is to be re-connected to our phone line and internet and to speak to someone that is actually willing to help. I will say again, we have not changed service provider and have been miss-treated, it is definitely a case of ‘slamming’, somebody somewhere has made an error. A comprehensive response would be much appreciated.

    I have just signed up for faster broadband at a cost of £4 pound a month extra on my bill, supposedly 20 mb's just checked speed is around 10mb's I live about half a mile from the exchange, pretty disappointed.

    Customer service is appalling and contract was not clear. We were submitted to several fishing calls from India looking to place software on our computer as the security service at talk talk was dreadful and our details had been stolen. Our contract stated that it finished on the 12th January 2017, but they then said we had to give 30 days notice although it didn't state this anywhere on the customer details on the website. They obviously wished to make it difficult to leave. I would never recommend or join talk talk again. Be warned! I will be telling everyone I meet to beware!

    Talk Talk scam !! Beware,
    I changed my broadband to Talk Talk last December. I have not passed on my new home phone number to anybody, only talk talk knows it. I have since deleted 20 missed calls, then another 23 , looked tonight and there are another 17. I have answered about 6. These are scam callers who say there is a problem with your broadband and they want you to run a diagnostic test on your laptop. What they do is install a piece of software that they can use to access your laptop, then want you to log on to your bank to give you a refund but then they steal your money because they can see your login details.Talk talk are aware of this but the scam continues. Please let all your friends and family know, especially the elderly who are more vulnerable and think something is actually wrong. Cancel talk talk as your provider as information is being leaked of new customers. Talk Talk are doing nothing !!!! Please share.

    Shocking. Installation engineer missed 2 appointments broadband not working so cancelled. Service didnt even start after over a month. Called and cancelled, have been waiting around 2 months for my refund which has been rejected several times even though they are putting it through! Stay far far away, painful customer service which takes a ridiculous amount of time to solve minor issues. Awful company

    Customer service is a disgrace. I have spent over 5 hours in the last week and a half on the phone to Talk Talk trying to get my problem solved. I have been without internet all this time and they have given me someone else's phone number. I have spoken to at least 4 different people, none of whom seemed to understand my problem and just kept doing all the same checks time and time again, telling me the line was okay. It probably was but it was not connected to my home. One person even told me I could go on line and look at their website for terms and conditions. How could I do that without the internet!!!!!
    The problem eventually got sorted and when I asked for compensation I was offered £20.89. I will try not to spend it all at once!!!!
    I feel stressed, angry and frustrated that it took so long to sort things out and no apology. I will be now looking to change provider. If you are thinking of moving to Talk Talk my advice is DON'T!!!
    I think that, even if they offer you a cheaper deal it is worth going elsewhere and paying a bit more for good customer service

    got fibre broadband speeds meant to be 35 get 28 29 constant buffering.spoke 2 times to tt online chat.excuses excuses.30 days monitoring my internet well over.the usual faults implied its in ur home. i suggest emailing the new ceo.as i got fed up few yr ago i got in touch with dido harding prob sorted in a wk.the prob was not my home.shocking service

    I live in the US. My elderly parents 80 and 90 have been treated abominably. Threatened with being billed for not being home to receive engineers who DONT turn up for a landline out of order for 6 WEEKS! Do not join them - you will be sorry the moment a problem occurs. I am telling everyone I know. Your reputation is being spread outside the company. Fix this issue - contact me directly and I will gladly upgrade this review

    System will not allow me to register for my account due to Talktalk's security hack last October. They failed to follow Ofcoms code of practice after I signed up. (I did not receive any written contract information or welcome pack.)
    Internet wifi speed not good due to known problems with router. Customer service terrible. Adviser seems to be reading from a script. Phone calls last ages and you end up going around in circles. Was cut of a couple of times and I was not being abusive. Live chat just as bad. Do lots of research before signing on with this company. If you thrive on stress go ahead.

    I've had an intermittent broadband connection now for 2 months! It disconnects for a couple of minutes, every few minutes. Talking to their customer service reps is like talking to robots, I can literally predict what they're going to say. I have friends and family that are also experiencing the same problem. One of the 9 engineers to come out so far even admitted how terrible they are and said that he's got BT broadband at home! AVOID!

    On the Friday 22nd of July I welcomed the engineer to my home for my then supposedly my t.v and broadband to go live(supposedly). After the completion of my broadband the gentleman kindly said he's goodbyes turned round and walked out, how is this strange you may ask, well it is strange because he did not install my t.v service!!

    This was promised to me by the talk talk representitive who sold me this package deal 2 and a half weeks ago.

    After numerous failed call backs and many Indian chaps with names like William and Sean I decided it was enough!!

    I called them once more and demanded a manager immediately, another of which could not speak a word of English(who then admitted at the end that he was not a manager but and adviser!!)

    After 45 minutes of me trying to explain the situation (AGAIN) he finally decided to talk to me about compensation as it was fair for me to receive something considering I have to take another day off from work for another engineer to come out to my property, losing more provisions for my family. But instead he told me that he will wait for the t.v service to be installed so that they can make some sort of a review!!!

    This is the third time I was told that I will have my case reviewed and quite frankly I have had just about enough!!

    Now my appointment with engineer is cancelled! FOCK YOU TALK TALK !!

    TalkTalk are absolutely appalling. They seduce customers in with low prices to start, tie them in to long contracts, won't let you out under any circumstances. We had intermittent internet problems for a YEAR and got £20 compensation and serious STRESS

    Absolutely appalling service, charged me for a phone line which I didn't ask for. Was very difficult to cancel, took three attempts to finally get it cancelled. Charged me for years over £45 a month because I was out of contract but hadn't told me that, that was the case. Quite happy to take the money from me but offer deals from £20 a month once I did cancel. Reward your long-term and loyal customers not charge them more. Service was like living in a cave in the living room as well, where the modem is... I could never talk talk to anyone on the phone at any time of the day.

    TalkTalk spoke to my Nan, a lady of nearly 90 years old. During the course of the conversation she 'bought' call divert to mobile (she doesn't have a mobile), she bought supersafe anti-virus (she doesn't have a computer) and she bought an international calls package (she doesn't dial abroad). That was apparently all in 2018 and they've been charging her for it ever since. She has no idea about these services at all, she doesn't ever remember being asked about them and would never consciously want them. When the family realised she was paying twice as much in her bills and found the reason was all these extras, I rang TalkTalk for an explanation. They could only keep repeating that the phone sales person would have read out the terms and conditions so they did nothing wrong. I was asking them to understand that my Nan is way to old to understand what’s going on and she sure would never consciously consent to buying anti-virus. They didn’t care at all. Hence the very negative reviews. From my point of view they exploited her and it makes me very angry.

    Please please please beware of this company they are the worst of the worst !!!! Charged me for a engineer that has not come to my house and on top of that calling me a lier they have idiots sitting abroad who do not have a clue about customer service and now I am still on the phone right now pulling my hair out .im going to head office to protest outside the building anyone wants to join me email me and let's all go outside the head office and have a huge protest that will teach them a lesson

    Just do not go anywhere near this company, it is a shambles. The support teams lie and make things up. I have had no broadband for 2 weeks, they tell me Open Reach are looking into this and it will be another 2 weeks. I contact Openreach and they know nothing of my issue. They will not keep going with this level of support, not a chance.

    Talk talk. What can I say that hasn’t already been said, they are an awful provider. I have spent 6-8 weeks with little or no connection. The live chat is pointless, twitter support is worse, they eventually get you through to ‘ceo’ support. None of these people do anything to resolve your issue. Lots of talk and questions, never a resolution. Just do not bother with them pay the extra for Sky and BT.

    I am sure talktalk will post a reply about ‘contact us’, ‘we are sorry’ get the message folks, get some engineers and people who can actually fix issues. Not these low paid customer service folks who want to be your mate. Your killing your customers.

    Never had a problem with broadband, however the customer service or lack there of has made me decide to leave, getting charged for things when it's there fault THEN blameing me THEN tell me that it's been taken off the bill, next one, receive the bill and it's still there,no one speaks English and don't understand after an hr on the phone...shocking

    Arranged an instalation engineer to call 6 weeks in advance. I am then pestered by texts and emails tellig me that if I was not there to let the engineer in it would entail a £65 charge. The time slot I was given was between 1 and 6pm. At 4.30 pm I am sent a text telling me the engineer will not be calling and to rearrange despiote me taking a day off work to wait in for the idiots. called their customer service and asked then for £65 failed enginer charge in recompense to me and their reaction was " We don't do that sir." I therefore cancelled the contract with Talk Talk even before the system was set up. If they cannot stick to their arrangements at the outset there is no hope for good service thereafter. AVOID.

    It's now March of 2022 ,and this is to anyone who is remotely considering choosing talk talk as a Internet service provider ,I've been with them for 18 months and the Internet connection has been lost and can take over an hour till reconnects at least twice a day customer service is as much use as a chocolate tea pot

    This company is a absolute joke. My husband and I decided to leave Sky, to join TalkTalk. When I called the customer helpline to join that part was fine it was after that call things went down hill. On November 24,2014. A engineer should of came out to put in a new telephone line and router. The appointment time which was arranged by the girl I spoke to the first time, and also confirmed by a letter. The appointment time was between 1.pm and 6.pm, after 6 I phoned TalkTalk to see what time the guy was coming out to do the job. I was told by the call centre guy in the the Philippines. The job was cancelled by them due to some issues with B.T Open reach and they would not be speaking to each other again till 28 November which is four days away, my Sky connection was being cut off on 27 November. I was given nothing but excuses and after 30 minutes of excuses I gave up and told them I was contacting Sky to reconnect with them. The Talk Talk staff member was not fussed and wished me a good night. Any one thinking of joining them should think twice.

    At Christmas I was receiving 5/6 meg not good, I was taken in by the hype of paying more for 18 months and getting faster broadband what a con . Once the 18 month contract started my speed dropped .to .8mg to 1.5 meg and despite several calls to talktalk engineers the speed improves for 30 mins and then drops to meg again. Take my advice and avoid them like the plaque.

    TalkTalk is a shocking company. The customer service is so terrible that I have endured months of unreliable broadband purely because I dread dealing with them to complain. They are slow in communication and never have any reasonable answers.

    The tests show that speed is variable. At best I get 35Mbits download but this can drop dramatically at times. Also when clicking on a link to a new domain, my browser shows a long wait before before I see the target page. By long I mean 10 to 20 seconds at times. At other times the address of the URL is resolved quickly and the target appears fast.

    A complete and utter joke. Even one star feels like too many. 80% of the time my internet just cuts out, the rest of the time it is agonisingly slow and the service is a disgrace. I'm embarrassed for them. Tried cancelling and it would cost more than my 24 month contract altogether to do. This company exists to screw you. Just don't do it. Spend a few more quid and save your time and energy. I promise it's better than going round in circles with these clowns

    Currently having to use my mobile hotspot to work from home rather than using my TalkTalk home broadband. Connection quality is absolutely atrocious. Very poor customer service and technical support.

    Speed is usually just above the Minimum.
    Customer services are useless and unknowlegable. but worst of all is the contract tie-ins and leaving fees. cant wait until contract is over.

    I contacted you as my signal is poor. The WiFi is great but the connection is rubbish. It does not extend to the second floor of my property and even when I put my phone next to the router I only have 2 out of 3 bars of WiFi. The only way you can resolve this is by CHARGING me £85 for your booster! Ridiculous! I shouldn’t have to pay for something to improve the signal that should already be good! I’m on your best package too! Outraged and currently looking at a new provider!

    This is a komplet nightmare . They should not been takeing people’s money for nothing ,they should be put to jail all of them . I personally hate the game they playing and please please please don’t never never never sign a anything with them they are awful all of them

    THE WORST EVER PROVIDER!!!!!!!!!!!
    I took out TT broadband and only discovered the bad reviews the next day. I have 20 days to cancel TT Broadband and inside 24 hours I’m on my 4th attempt to get it cancelled. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT!!!!!! Lengthy phone calls that end up being cut off. Can’t understand English! They’re systems are down. Etc etc etc. Don’t even think about going with Talk Talk
