Never been any good and nothing has changed. Customer service seems to promise resolution, but never actually does anything to fix problems. Been with them for years - they've been nothing but useless - so time to leave this 3rd world standard internet service.

Broadband has always been slow. I have just spend 2 hours on live chat so they could resolve it. Got disconnected four times and had to repeat all the same things over and over again. "What make of router do you have?" Seriously!!! Every router I have ever had has made no difference to their pathetic broadband speed. Virgin media here I come.

So, after my partner has suffered long periods of lack of accessability to her NEW email, whilst my email (OLD STYLE) has functioned correctly, Now I cant get into mine and hers works fine!
The Changes introduced have been a disaster, without proper testing (Why should paying customers have to do the testing for these vital connections??)
Will move my accounts as soon as contract finishes, I cant cope with the lack of competence and availability of information.
Reading this thread it seems to me that the advice Talk Talk give is that our computers are changing settings (Ports and the like?) So, am I being sabotaged by my own computer?. I doubt it. This kind of thing happens a minimum once a year, and it goes away (accounts finally being readable) after some days. Does my computer self heal?
No recompense offered, by the way, even though service not received and no reply from the C E O`s desk either. Discraceful.
Easily the worst possible service for E-Mail, with no interest in individual problems, they are in a numbers game and they promote for new customers all the time instead of spending the money on good technical and support staff ... FORGET THEM!

I have been with Talk Talk since September 2014 and signed up to the broadband and phone plan. I had few problems and was happy with the service.
In December, I decided to upgrade to the 18 month Broadband, Phone and Plus TV plan at £9.50 a month plus line rental for 12 months. I explained to the agent that I was away for Xmas and they said that the TV box would be held at my local post office for me to pick up when I arrived home. I arrived home and had no tv box. I emailed the delivery company and did not get a reply. I also realised that Talk Talk had charged me just over £35 for the plan and emailed talk talk customer service who replied saying that the plan was £35 and if I wanted a discount then I should pay line rental up from for a year and then would get a discount on line rental.
Obviously I was annoyed and frustrated at this as the plan I had signed up to was the advertised discount price of £9.50 plus line rental for 12 months. I then phoned up Talk Talk (January) who told me that the half price plan had been cancelled for no reason but that they would renew it for me with the discounted price for 12 months on an 18 month contract and that they would refund me the difference. I also explained that I had not received my tv box and they said that I should receive it soon.
I then rang again around a week later as I could not see that my plan had changed and they said that the system would not let them change it to 12 months only six months and that I would need to ring up in six months time to add another six months on. I said that I was not happy with this and they said that there was nothing that they could do. I explained that I had still not received my tv box and they said that it had only just been sent and that I needed to be patient.
I then rang up a week later explaining that I had still not received my tv box that I was being charged for and the agent said it had been cancelled in December for no reason and that he would re-send it. I also explained that I was unhappy as I should have a discounted plan for 12 months and not 6. The agent said that he would speak to his manager and do me a great deal and came back offering me a discounted plan for five months. This is when I went high pitched and asked to speak to the manager as I should already be on a 12 month discount and he was offering me a lower time than the six months I was already on and the agent said I was not to worry and that he would do me a great deal without me speaking to a manager. The agent came back and said that he had put me on the 18 month contract for a discounted price for 12 months, re-sent the tv box and an engineer would be with me next Monday. Basically what I had signed up for in December. I phoned a few days later asking how the engineer was going to fit the tv box without a tv box as I had still not received it. The agent asked me if I wanted a tv box as it had been cancelled in December. I asked to speak to a manager who was very rude to me and asked if I wanted the tv box as it had been cancelled. Again I explained that I had not cancelled it and that I had been charged for a service I had not received so she gave me a £5 discount. The manager then put me onto the 'loyality department'. The agent re-sent me a tv box, put me on an 18 month contract with 12 months discount.... that was today. I'll update what happens.
In short Talk Talk are outrageous and have no customer service skills. They cancel your plan for no reason, cancel deliveries for no reason, charge you for a service you do not have and when you speak to a manager they are rude and transfer you to a different department because they do not want to deal with your call.
In general, I don't complain but this service had been so unbelievable that I have had too!

Tried to set up a phone and broadband account. Completed online. They decided to set up a completely new phone line. They unable to provide the service they agreed to , then failed to notify us of this.
This was for my elderly dad who needs a phone line for his care line and the previous suppliers contract had ended.
Cancelled before we could be treated as a mug any more by them
Utterly appalling “service”

The problems started at least about 6 months ago with the sudden drop in internet speed from around 12mb/15mb down to 6mb,the phone line went dead in Dec 2015 and then no internet. had the same problems that everyone else has had with customer service - language problems, same questions being asked again and again and again from thier so called engineers - new router etc etc etc. The hours i have wasted. They did fix the line eventualy so the phone was working again but the speed is still 6mb i am paying £37pm. i question them on this and they state that is acceptable - well not to me it isnt. Maybe because i was out of the renewed contract they dropped the speed but still charged me £37pm
So i accept that i have to move over to fibre and pay extra to get the speed that i had when i first joined with them - Another really annoying thing is as i am not a new customer i dont get the disount rate for the fast fibre, i suggested that, what with the problems i have had and the time spent trying to resolve it, it would be sign of good will and as i have been with them for a few years a gesture reaward for my loyalty - nope they cant do that. So new cstomers get it cheaper but existing customer who have had their service cut can sod off. Not a good way to do business and keep customers - i will not be using them again. I am having the same problems with my buisness line (in a seperate part of town)suddenly dropped from 17mb to 6mb. If I treated my clients the same way they treat their existing customers i would be out of business - i will now cancell all my accounts with TALK TALK and go with a 12 month contract - so if problems happen I can get out sooner.

To cut a long story short, my service over recent months has declined. Wanted to upgrade to fibre to make the service more reliable, was missold products, they seem incapable of cancelling orders within the cooling off period, put mistruths on their account records about what they have said to you and refuse to reply to complaints in writing - they want to talk about it - yeah right so you have no evidence of what has been said!

Customer service is a joke. Operators show total lack of interest and you get passed around from one to another without your problem ever being resolved.
On the phone, if you select the option that you want to cancel your account you get put on hold indefinitely - They are so desperate to keep customers!. If you go on line to cancel your account using 'Contact Us' on the TalkTalk web page your request wont be registered and you'll still be being billed months later!
Honestly, my advice is avoid this (dis)organisation! There are much better providers!

Horrendous customer service experience. After spending 10 mins over phone just to verify account, spending another 15 mins to conduct some test , the customer service says "their" systems are down and I should call back in another 2 hours. Asked to transfer to cancellation team and then put on hold for another 5 mins just for some one else to pick up the phone. Horrible IT set up for an internet service provider company.

I had a horrible experience with talk talk!! I was supposed to "go-live" on 16/5 and booked the day off work as an engineer would be coming around. On 14/5, they notified me that I don't need an engineer visit afterall (so I booked my day off for no reason). On 16/5, that my broadboand should start working, I received a call from talk talk saying I did need an appointment after all. So I booked one for 18/5. I wasn't able to take the day off at work, so I called them back and rescheduled for 19/5, that I managed to get off. However, even though the advisor confirmed my appt, I didn't receive a confirmation by email or text. I decided to call them back to double-check. Apparently the previous advisor hadn't actually put the appt on the system and it showed that my appt was still on 18/5. The next advisor assured me that he cancelled the 18/5 appt but that 19/5 was now fully booked. I was really annoyed and upset as I was counting a lot on having broadband by then. And guess what happened next! An engineer called me saying his outside the property on 18/5, even though I cancelled my appt twice!!!! On top of this, they said there was going to be a charge cause I wasn't there!! What an absolute circus of a company!!! Next thing I did was call them and ask to speak to the manager to resolve the issue. To my disappointment, he was insisting he could not get my Friday appt back and that if I cancelled my contract (which hasn't even started btw), I would be charged!!!!!!!!!! This is the WORST customer service experience I've ever had and seems that talktalk is a JOKE. By the end of my last attempt to resolve this I was actually in tears. This manager should be ashamed of himself. That's all I have to say.

DO NOT even consider subscribing to talk talk whether it is for personal - or especially if it's for business.
They are dire on so many levels - to start with, the speed test reports 0.52 Mbps and the smart TV cannot cope to play a standard (non-HD) video.
PATHETIC!

Absolute rubbish company to deal with. you can never get to speak to anybody . its all automated speak to lines and the chat line takes ages to type your complaint in detail. Had a bad crackiling phoneline which i reported and they eventually said by text the broadband speed was slow , I had a reply saying it had been resolved and i am still only getting 2.3 mbs download and that is supposed to be fibre, at least the phone hasstopped crackeling.

I had the you view box with my contract but it never worked. Engineer has been out today and advised brand new unit was faulty. Fitted me a replacement unit but I now find that at best, over and above the facilities on my smart tv, is that I only have extra, pause and rewind. No record facility as I thought. Spoke to customer services who said I would have to pay extra for that facility. So really just a waste of time. Can't wait for my contract to expire.

Disgusted is an understatement ! Absolutely fuming with talk talk my bill has gone from £15pcm to £20pcm without any reason ! Try to get through on the web vhat anf they just ask what phone your using ! If i wanted to talk to carphone warehouse I would ring them ! Internet drops all the time can never watch anything to my fire tv stick, they completely ignore what your saying and never sort it, then they ask for a stupid amount to get out of the contract! Stay far away from talk talk they're literally untouchable and when you can understand them they make no effort to help, (middle finger to you talk talk)

Had great service up until trying to cancel, lying about cancelations, placing me on hold for an age in the hope I would give up trying to cancel. Taking all my details only to pass me on to someone else and say they can't do my request after spending 10 minutes discussing my cancellation etc.
Won't be recommending these again

Told I should upgrade to fibre broadband and promised higher speeds but fibre no faster than non-fibre so paying for nothing. When my landline went down it took months to fix. Engineer repeatedly failed to show up. Spent hours to call centre on my mobile. The call centre staff do their best - that is the only good thing I've got to say - but they don't deliver.

Constant outages and persistently slow internet. Useless customer service in India told me that the problem was inside my house when it was actually at the exchange. TalkTalk blame BT, BT blame TalkTalk. And I'm stuck with rubbishly slow internet.

Failed to provide me with a functioning email address from day 1. Gave them 6 months to fix it, going in circles with call centre. Had to move on as I couldn't access online account with no email address and got no advance notice of direct debit payments. Now about to get a CCJ for non-payment of early termination fee for a service I didn't receive. Stay clear of TalkTalk!

Been with them for years. It's a bit like that nagging headache that won't go away. Phone line has a permanent engaged tone. Broadband is slow with pings of 2441;207;1987;194;87;
I have been charged for engineers fees as talktalk can't locate the faults.
I believe customers should Walkwalk instead of talktalk. They are not worth the headache go elsewhere

When it works, it's fine, but that's a huge WHEN (and very limited). Most of the time speeds are trickling along below 10Mbps download, and often at 0.2Mbps download. It is only when I'm dry-humping the router, or alternatively sat on the support chat, that speeds surpass the contracted agreement. One reason given by support is that I have over 5 devices connected (most of which are idle e.g. Alexa) - are they serious given the average home probably has at least 4 mobile devices before even considering any home-linked devices (security, TV, smart devices, etc.)? I can't wait to leave this terrible service.

My internet has been down for fourteen days. TalkTalk have given me the runaround day after day. I have, at their behest bought, a new ADSL filter, new 'phone and new router. I have had a Talk Talk contract enginer in my home and a BT engineer in my home. The customer service is abysmal and the operatives just appear to be reading from a bit of paper. When you can actually speak to someone who understands they deliberately tell untruths to get rid of you.

Very disappointed with TalkTalk. Joined 3 months ago on upto 38 Mbs guaranteed minimum 35Mbs. Average speds range from 9Mbs to 19Mbs - received 27Mbs once. TalkTalk very hard to contact by email and seem unwilling to properly tackle speed issue. I do not want to spend time on phone with them: the one call I had was very unsatisfactory as staff member could not deal with complaint and passed me to 'customer services' where I had to enter number codes to get to right dept - gave up in disgust. Will not be renewing contract!

I've been with Talktalk for around 10 years for phone and broadband. To be completely truthful I have never had a problem with the products or service. They are always helpful and usually quick to answer a call (today at 13.40 it took 10 seconds to be put through to a real human being !) So,as with most review sites...complaints Usually get posted and happy customers are less likely to review ????

Absolutely woeful. Supposed to be on fibre but average speed of 4 Mbps, and that's on a good day. When I renewed my contract I couldn't get connected at all and 'customer service' is a joke. When this contract is up I'll be leaving talk talk for a decent company.

Two years ago I had the misfortune to take TalkTalk. The installation process took over six months including clueless engineers turning up to ask what I wanted then not do the required install. Only a letter to the chairman produced some result.
After the recent data breach the account can only be managed from the line itself. Not much good if you are not often there. No alternatives offered only long calls to 0870 to ask for it to be sent. I decided to transfer to another provider. I was hit with a charge. Attempts to discuss this were met my disinterested operators and lines dropped when asked to escalate/speak to manager. Now when you ring up you are told the service is so popular there will be an even longer wait than normal. The online chat is slight more responsive but only provides quotes from the service not answers. Just awful, get me away from them please.
