    If there was an option to give no stars I would! I never write reviews but am so angry with TalkTalk I don’t want anyone else to experience how awful they are. TalkTalk are an absolute joke and should be avoided from the very start. I live in York and signed up to their new Ultra Fibre Optic (UFO) broadband which is not only at a good price, but claims up 900 mb/s. I had the Wi-fi box installed into my house with no issues and from a very friendly engineer. Unfortunately this was over 6 weeks ago and I still have no internet. Apparently there is a data base issue which means the router in your house will not connect to the fibre optic. Their engineering team seem very reluctant to rewrite the code because apparently it’s just too big a job. They cancelled my order, ran some tests and claimed it would be up and running. They placed a new order with me, and hey presto it still doesn’t work. So after 6 weeks of waiting they told me that they just can’t provide me with internet and it would probably be another couple of months before they could rewrite the code in the database. The customer service is appalling. I rang them about 15 times throughout this period to get an update, just to be told that they can’t provide any timeline on when it would be fixed. This is not an isolated incident either. There are around 30 other houses in York which are also affected and is actually probably much more. If I hadn’t been so pushy with ringing them to demand answers I’m certain I would have been left in the dark for much longer. Not only have they literally wasted hours of my time, there is absolutely no compensation. The Wi-fi box was on for 3 weeks charging and costing me money to run before I got so fed up and eventually turned it off. I will also be informing OFCOM and hope others who have experienced such awful service do the same. I sincerely hope the company gets fined or forced to review how it runs its business and treats it customers. DO NOT GO WITH TALKTALK!!!!

    I cancelled my old contract to re open in my name, been having issues ever since. First off it took them a month to activate my ‘go live date’ then emailed saying it’s ready to go only to find there’s more issues with the line. Although we had their services before and it was fine . The customer services team are very unhelpful and don’t seem to care. Strongly advise to avoid even if their speeds are very good

    Having moved house recently I moved to TalkTalk. The line kept dropping when I was using broadband.
    I used their terrible chat system many, many times. The time it takes the agents to verify who you are takes around 15 minutes, by which time my line always drops and I lose the chat connection so I'm forced to start again. I'm currently invested 10 hours plus in this process and each attempted interaction takes over an hour.
    One Friday evening several weeks ago I managed to get as far as doing tests. I was told an engineer would then go to the exchange and remedy the situation.
    This never happened. After several more failed chat sessions I made it through to another round of tests and was told the results would be telephoned to me within three days. This didn't happen. I did receive a message with a number to call. They said that they would mark the matter as resolved if I didn't reply within 7 days.
    I took time out of my holiday to make a phone call to the number given, only to be told that I had to be at home to complete the test - I was on holiday and that took me over the 7-day deadline and I wasn't driving from Devon to York to sit on a phone call with people who can barely speak English!
    I asked if I could leave TalkTalk and I can, but it will cost me £120 as they haven't completed testing. It's a vicious circle that I can't escape from and I have to continue paying for something that doesn't work. I'm trapped in TalkTalk hell.

    Got package , then waited , got email and text saying delivery would happen on 10/05/18 had day off work and waited and waited nothing so stick it up your a""" I have better things to do than wait and be lied to , they do not even have the decency to notify or apologise will take my business elsewhere , they did offer compensation if reordered , I would rather eat worms , so total waste of money time and effort Shame they do not value customers

    So I’ve just joined and am not happy at all! They are rude on the phone, don’t care about customer service at all and one of them even lied about what they were doing! Signal is awful too had to ring up about 4 times within two weeks! Wish I never looked at this company! Beware!! AVOID

    Absolute rubbish , also worst customer service ever. Sooner we can leave talk talk the better. I would give a big zero for all aspects of the service and would certainly not recommend them to anyone.

    I was with a company called TenTel and talktalk bought TenTel. When this happened I cancelled my account because I didn’t want to go with talktalk. However talktalk continued to take over the account even though I had already switched to sky. So I had now two broadband providers, one of them I was unware of until I started getting billed. I then cancelled talktalk a second time and told them I wasn’t paying because I had already cancelled and haven’t been using there services anyway. They said that was fine and to call back when I got my final bill the following week with a reference they had given me. And that’s what I did. When I called back they had no record of me and had moved my £20 detbit to a det collector and I now have to pay £61. This company’s customer service is disgusting and they shouldn’t be aloud to treat people like this.

    DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE !! I recently moved to Talktalk and am deeply regretting it. Installation guy was 3.5 hours late and when he left the phone was not working and half the TV channels are missing. Today is my 3rd attempt to contact the service centre. On the 1st 2 attempts I hung up after 15 mins. So far today I have been on hold for 22mins. Going back to Virgin Media asap

    Our broadband is terrible. Very weak and unreliable. It just keeps cutting out and disconnecting . We changed from BT to Talk Talk thinking it may improve but it made no difference.

    Talk Talk service is a complete nightmare. They may be cheaper when everything is going OK but God help you if you have a problem.
    Today I have finally resolved an issue that has been ongoing for 7 months. What could this most complicated of issues be you may ask? I simply wanted to disconnect my call plan. I have spent hours on the phone, written innumerable letters, been lied to, contradicted and passed from one department to another. Resolution only came about, by appealing to the CEO, from whom I received a personal apology.
    Today is a good day. I am finally rid.

    I wish i had read these comments before joining up with talk talk. I have never known such rubbish customer service. They are very rude when you can get a word in. The customer service manager was shouting at me and wouldn't stop over quizing my bill iv never over the phone been spoke to like that especially someone im giving business to. I reported it and they closed the case because i said so. Never would i want the case closed. Even after i made the complaint they wasn't very helpful and said if u really want we will send an apology letter out to you.it wasn't taken seriously so dont know why i bothered. I would never ever recommend talk talk they are first class a***h**** !!!!!!

    Rubbish. Can't even get the 3mb download promised in my contract.
    They keep sending me new routers because they can't see an issue else where. When i tried to cancel, because they are breaching the contract, they are trying to charge me £180 and when we explain they are in breaching the contract they hang up on us or talk over us. Just save the hassle and don't use this joke of a company

    AVOID at ALL costs.
    I have been with talk talk over a year and throughout that time I have had very bad internet/wifi. More or less as soon as I started with them I had to call to say I was not getting any wifi signal, there started the dreadful journey of incompetency where I was assured again and again that things have been tweaked or settings changed and the results should be seen in the next few days. I DID NOT! Again more calls more tweaks more waiting.
    After many months (nearly a year) eventually I demanded an engineer comes round, when the engineer did come he did some tests and announced that I had a faulty Modem all along!
    I ring talk talk and after many long waits and numerous disconnections mid call without any call back I eventually speak to someone from an overseas centre claiming to be a manager, after a further hour trying to explain that I should be compensated for what has always been a hardware fault they failed to diagnose I am told that this form of issue is not eligible for compensation. After telling them I was disgusted that they have allowed me to call again and again and failed to diagnose a hardware issue they should be taking responsibility, this fell on deaf ears and I was offered £5 as a “loyal” customer, I undoubtedly told him where he can stick this £5 and again explained their hardware was always at fault and as such they should take RESPONSIBILITY, again this was refused.
    My only advice to others is talk talk is an incompetent and irresponsibly provider you should AVOID at all costs both financial cost and the cost to your sanity.

    3 phone calls to customer services over the last 2 months , 4.5 hours in total, bounced about to different departments, Over charged and money taken from my account , without notifying me. Etc etc .

    Please follow the advice of others and steer well clear. These guys have absolutely no idea what they're doing. I now have 2 accounts set up with them, that I have not been able to cancel, because after being passed from pillar to post - "Sorry, they've put you through to the wrong department. We can't help you." - and spending over 2 hours to them on the phone, the only thing they've managed to achieve is to set up accounts so that they can take money from my bank account. I have no service whatsoever. Having taken holiday to make sure I was in for the engineer, between the delightfully precise times of 'between 1 - 6', they simply cancelled my engineer on the basis that my address was not registered with Royal Mail. At least my postman's a genius - he's been delivering mail for weeks, so he's obviously got some serious skills! No-one had the courtesy to let me know that no-one would be coming out. A new account was then set up to remedy the problem, but this according to the slaes person's colleague was the wrong thing to do. When I complained and said I needed this resolved, I was promised a call back the next day. One thing I can say for these guys...they're reliably useless. They didn't call. When I rang to complain, I was cut off before I got through to 'the right department'. I don't think they have one of these. All departments are based on ensuring imcompetency is prevalent. The final parting wonder of this bunch of charlatans...Closing question asked on my phone call re complaint. "Would you like to recommend us to friends or family?"

    We have been with talk talk for over three years and have been more than satisfied
    After a problem with the TV box we had a new one delivered in less than 24 hrs fantastic !!

    Please do not put yourself through a year with Talktalk. After a year of red lights on my router and having to restart it every day & slow speeds. I have spent hours on the chat trying to end my contract, after the 12 month term, but they just won't do it. Its a joke and a scam. They only get away with it since people wont go to the regulators for the sake of £30 or whatever they try to squeeze out of you unnecessarily.

    Talk Talk should rename themselves JokeJoke.. what a bunch of incompetents... the crappiest broadband ever, worse than it was 20 years ago on dial up... I've had problems for months with pathetic broadband speeds from them, so much so that i can't even download my e-mails most of the time... I've rung them many times & it's really are hard work talking on the phone with them.. I've changed my modem, the filters & all the connecting cables & still no joy.. when I do an online broadband test it comes back as approx 220kb download & about 40kb upload... as I said earlier... worse than it was years ago on dial up... according to talk talk there's no problem, but they have admitted I'm on a very old copper line... why don't i upgrade to fiber they say... well if
    i do it wont be with talk talk... I'm only in contract with them for a few more months so it'll be bye bye forever to them then.... they just don't have any customer services at all... avoid this company like the plague...

    The broadband speed is generally extremely slow, and when it does pick up, it's only temporary. Extremely unreliable service, and although the call staff are friendly enough, they do nothing in terms of actually fixing the issues.

    Opted for a free Mobile sim offer with associated free benefits as a broadband customer. I decided not to set up the account and remained with current mobile provider. Although the TalkTalk SIM card remains packaged and never installed in a phone I began to receive small charges for texts etc that could never have been sent as the SIM card was never activated. It took approx 5 chat sessions lasting approx 50mins each to finally get the operators to cancel the account and retract the costs.

    Appalling customer service with low levels of knowledge and insufficient grasp of the English language. An issue remained unsolved at time of switching despite promises over a three month period.

    Some emails for update information were ignored.

    A previous problem was only resolved when I insisted they follow the instructions I gave them and not their provided script.

    Cripplingly slow internet, after I switched to a new provider my internet speed doubled. Very cheap, but they repeatedly hiked my bills, after the first year I was paying triple the advertised price when I signed up!

    Do Not even consider signing up with these modern day Pirates, I left a month ago & signed up with PlusNet, the speeds remain stable and the service is good, I have put up with TalkTalk for years and the slow speeds and disconnections and incredibly woeful customer service, which really the speed & disconnections should never have been an issue because I live less than 1/2 Mile away from the exchange, I finally got sick and tired of switching the router off and on every two to three days to reset it to get the broadband working, Guess what TalkTalk it is 2015, and your technology is not 2015, I really hope the recent hacking scandal makes people aware of how totally inept these people are at TalkTalk and it makes them think twice before signing up with them because three Hacks in the space of 1 year is unacceptable as is the level of their poor service.

    I joined Talk Talk in Feb on a 12 month contract. The speed was extremely slow. I took screenshots of the speed tests I did and registered the slow speed twice (thus giving them reasonable opportunity to remedy it). It didn't improve so I sent a letter telling them that they had not meet the terms of the contract (you can find a copy online) as they had not managed to provide the minimum guaranteed speed (you can find this speed on their welcome email to you) and that I was therefore terminating my contract as a result of their breach. It worked. I got out of the contract with no cancellation fees. (I did the speed tests according to their rules e.g. over a wired connection, in the same room as the router etc.

    My speed was so bad that, if I hadn't have been able to exit the contract, I would have paid for another provider anyway.

    I ordered a free broadband package with telephone in september 15 online, they were quick enough to set up a direct debit in hours but unfortunately no letter ot router appeared after two weeks, I rang and after being put on hold for what seemed to be an eternity I eventually managed to speak to someone who reassured me it was on its way, I waited another week then they rang me to ask if I was enjoying my broadband. At this point after receiving nothing but a direct debit set up by me I decided enough was enough and I told the man on the other end of the phone to cancel my order. I should have learned by my mistake as I had talk talk a few years ago and had lots of problems with them . No stars at all

    If I could give it 0 I would, complete and utter waste of time and money! We have been with them around 2 months and have not had broadband for 40 days, we'v had 3 engineers to the house, countless line checks, and in the end when I lost my temper they suddenly realised what the fault was, the simplest of things at their end. We got offered compensation, a measley £14. I would avoid going with them at all costs, the customer service I received was appalling, nobody listened to a word I said, I rang nearly every day for about a month (when I was completely fed up), when I finally got it sorted I was on the phone over an hour and a half being passed from pillar to post, with people who clearly didnt know what they were doing. Annoyed and fed up doesnt even come close.

    I am on Talk Talk's basic broadband and phone package.

    When I first phoned them to find out how much the monthly costs were, their indian sales staff lied by giving me a much lower quote than the actual broadband costs. I signed up, thinking I was getting a bargain.

    When I found out a month later that the bills were higher than the figures they quoted, I phoned them but was basically told it was tough luck and fobbed off.

    The broadband has been generally slow - almost unfit for purpose. Some days nearly non-existant. On the best days, it can just about play HD video, but buffers a lot. Websites take ages to refresh and there is a general inconsistency in the speed from day to day. Extremely poor, overall.

    Last month they charged me premium rates for calls which should be charged at UK standard landline rate - without informing me. This drove up my landline bill considerably, taking it into arrears. They ended up cutting off my phone so I could not make outgoing calls.

    This, in turn put my account in considerable arrears and a couple of weeks later they cut off my broadband and demanded I pay my arrears in full before reconnecting me.

    This company is disgusting. Nothing they say can be trusted. No doubt all their customers feel the same way and are jumping ship. So Talk Talk are obviously clawing as much money from their few existing customers as they can... By creating extortionate charges and fleecing customers while they still can before they go bust.

    I will be cancelling all Talk Talk services as soon as possible.

    This company has no idea how to conduct business in civilised society. The sooner they die a death, the better for all of us.

    I will not expand on why I have tried to give zero stars, the reasons are already posted on here many times. If you’re considering Talktalk, before you sign up, try to contact them by email, or phone, but give yourself at least half an hour before you make progress, and don’t expect much progress.

    Had been with TalkTalk for phone & Tiscali for B/B for several years with no problems.Then in June,switched to a total package with Tiscali, phone & B/B for £28/month.
    First invoice was for £45.80 & when I queried the amount they cut off my broadband , cancelled my account. Would'nt or could'nt restore my B/B service.Spent around 8 hrs on the phone to their centres trying to get service back..useless.
    Wrote to their top management complaining. NO reply at all. Dont touch TalkTalk with a barge pole. Would never recommend them even to my worst enemy.
