Rubbish service , i had better download / upload rate through wireless from neighbour (BT - via BT-FON) than i had from them . Also loads of problems with customer service . Been away from country for 3 months but i paid the full bill when i returned 109£ (around 60 was penalty)in same day i paid i got the service disconnected even that bill was paid in advance and they supposed to provide me another month of service . Then they charged me the next month with another 31£ disconnection fee clause when was not even my choice to be disconnected and i didnt had a fixed term contract either . Rubbish avoid them, TalkTalk should be the last resort .

Terrible, a lot worse than the wifi in my Year 1 accommodation. It's so slow, even when I'm the only one in the house. It often doesn't load websites properly and when I video call my boyfriend he says I sound robotic and my video lags. Can't wait to move into my new student house and use a better provider.

Been with talk talk for many years. Recently price increased due to end of contract. Offered better price if upgrade to faster fibre. When we did slow speed. Line test showed fault. Engineer booked but didn't come.Waited in all afternoon. On calling they said engineer came but couldn't gain access. They charged £30 for missed appointment although we WERE in. Feel as though I have to prove I was in my own home. Terribly disappointing customer service for a loyal customer? will get out as soon as I can. Avoid at all costs!

Unbelievably atrocious.

Statements like, "void the contract and delete my details," and, "I am no longer a customer of talktalk," are apparently not clear enough to qualify as cancellation.
But they won't tell you this, they'll wait two years, sell off a "debt" to collection agents, and claim they have no evidence of your statements..because they deleted the correspondence, the complaint and the accompanying message chain.
Never have I been so glad to be a hoarder of correspondence.

I'll shortly be taking talktalk to court.

Do not ever enter in to a contract with talktalk, they will not provide what they promise, they will obfuscate and outright lie, and they will ignore your requests to cancel.

Never has a company been so deserving of a negatively starred review.

Speed and reliability is absolutely appalling. I have contacted customer services on several occasions and become increasingly frustrated with the way in which they try and fob me off with feasible excuses and tell me that I need to upgrade to fibre rather than to try and resolve my problem.

If I could sue them for false advertising I would there isn’t a day goes bye that this awful broadband service isn’t down so much so I’m on first name terms with their engineers you should avoid at all costs you will only be giving yourself another problem as if life isn’t bad enough with your business can’t be done because your chasing engineers you can’t stress enough to avoid never ever go near this crew of inept suppliers.

Was with Talktalk for a few years and honestly, I think the only reason for it was the cheaper price... I had the broadband only package which was fine for me. It worked alright for a good while - not the fastest speeds around but it did the job. The trouble started around 6 months before we finally left - the connection got very unreliable - it would cut out frequently, streaming anything uninterrupted just didn’t happen. We got an upgraded router and things seemed to be ok for a little bit until the trouble started again - at the end we literally had to message them every day as we could not get online for hours on end. As this happened after i came back from a holiday, suspected i could have gotten capped due to inactivity although they claim there are no caps... The customer service was not helpful at all - not one of them could tell what the problem was and on a couple occasions i was just given instructions how to connect to wifi on my smartphone... seriously?! Although our connection would coincidentally get restored once I’d message them... An absolutely infuriating experience. Have moved on now and couldn't be happier. Hopefully don’t have to deal with them again.

I was one of TalkTalk customers.I havent been a customer since a year Jaunary since their broadband speed is terrible.
I found out after one year TalkTalk charges £36.95 per month now comes up to £547.86
Now TalkTalk they are messing around and avoiding to refund the amount.
When you switch to TalkTalk think before doing so.

Absolutely shocking, avoid to all extend! They will shut you off if you want to cancel, and absolutely DO NOT sign-up via phone. Get everything in paperwork! as I was lied to about the T&C.

We've been with TalkTalk for five years now. I know they get a bad rap, but I honestly can't fault them. I had an issue with the phone line that did talk a while to get sorted, but the fault was at the exchange so the blame there lies with Openreach, not TalkTalk. I get consistuant 70Meg download speed and 20Meg upload in my North Essex village, so speed is good. They even sent me the latest router free of charge as a sorry for the phone fault.
My only slight annoyance is a lack of UK call centre. The staff in the Indian call centre do try their best, but they can be hard to understand at times.
Prices are very good too. Much cheaper than BT and many others. Overall, very happy with the service.

Service drops out all the time. Dealing with their customer service is a totally miserable experience. DON'T use them. If you have a problem it is actually easier just to switch provider than try to resolve it with Talk Talk.

Terrible service problems with the Internet had a engineer come to fix the issue told me that the problem is not at the house but the pole now just seems to be getting the runaround same questions every time you contact them but nothing happens terrible service avoid them

Can't even rate Talk Talk, they've been so bad. Been waiting since August for a connection. Thank God for Vodaphone's mobile router

What they say and sell aint what you get. Sold on Money Supermarket labelled as 35 Mb. Connected to Talk Talk sales and told them I as on standard Broadband with Vodafone and was receiving 19 Mb so I was quite optimistic that although they gave a bench mark of 12.1 - 21 Mb that I would be receiving 21 MB at least - especially when the marketing /sales literature states "upgrade to fast fibre broadband".. Actual speed on my new fast fibre broadband is actually 17 Mb !!! slower than my normal previous Vodafone broadband and £8 per month more expensive.When I complained they said i am within the "range of 12.1- 21Mb and that they only need to deliver 9 Mb. The false expectation, miss selling number and delivering a poorer service at a higher monthly charge is displays a company with poor morals and integrity. Either the Regulator or Government need to address this -- in summary I should have stayed with Vodafone !!

So terrible! I rang about every other day complaining about how slow it was and the costumer service was all from india and sounded like those scammers!!! They did nothing to help and after 2months we went back to Virgin Media and it was so much better! Dont use TalkTalk use Virgin

Been with TT for a number of years after a series of errors upon errors decided to try a different provider on the basis - 'they can't be worse'!! The overseas call centers, rubbish equipment that fails and they do not replace - go buy your own - coupled woth a complaints handling process designed to make you give up - I am off.

I have had problems with broadband with talk talk I spent several hours on the phone they are robotic make promises and dont keep them they are soooooo frustrating to deal with. There cus serve team are not in the uk so the language and understand is not good at all. I am fed up of how band they are and how my issues have been going on for weeks without a resolution. I am sick to death of them so I am cancelling my contract with them. I would never recommend a co like this to any one. Soooo difficult to deal with it is beyond any words. I would never use them again ever or recommend them

Absolutely shocking company, staff you can’t understand or can’t understand you, broadband goes down all the time which means no tv, as they failed to say needed an aerial to watch freeview, I have asked to speak to a manager who then decided to cough constantly down the phone not once did he move or cover his mic absolutley disgraceful! And stuck in a contract AVOID AVOID AVOID TALK TALK SHOULDNT EVEN BE ALLOWED TO TRADE !!

I've just finished my contract with talk talk. Many problems throughout the contract. Slow to unavailable speeds of internet. Prolonged waiting period for customer service. Every employee has a different story. They signed me in for renewal for 18 months for an increased price without any sort of authorisation whatsoever. They introduce themselves as David, Lee and Mark when they clearly are not. They are Asians. I have no idea why they would do that. You might as well pay a little extra and have a headache-free experience. Absolutely pathetic company and customer service. Never again.

Broadband very slow and un reliable speed, customer services terrible and spent hours/ days on the phone over a couple of years trying to resolve snail pace internet. Needed a new box, even offered to pay for this, and was refused. Be aware that any speeds logged on Talk Talk speed tester cannot be accessed when making a complaint. Told to log these on this site which I did for over a year, after independent complaint review because Talk Talk chose not to submit these as evidence, and I couldn't/ don't have access to these weren't taken into account (a total scam). Can honestly say that this has been the worst and most frustrating experience of my life, repeating myself on every call and re inventing the wheel with different customer services advisers. Never again, horrendous.

Talktalk is the most disappointing and frustrating service I have ever dealt with. I have spent hours on the phone with the helpline and they are anything but helpful! Just robots following a script and giving you the same answers telling you that your problem has been resolved, then having to call up and go through the whole process again as it was never resolved in the first place. I had to do this three times and it's still not resolved to this day.
Then when I called up to end my contract because of there poor services I spent another 2 hours on the phone. They were reluctant to pass me over to the manager, I had to ask multiple times and when I did get through to the manager she was absolutely useless as well, no help whatsoever - it was like talking to a robot who just repeated the same thing. I can't get out of this contract for another year without paying hundreds of pounds! They offered me a whole £9 off. So I have to just deal with them and there average WiFi that has its ups and down for the next year till I can change my provider.
If you are reading this then please don't think I am a keyboard warrior that just complains for the sake of it, this is my only way of complaining as the helpline don't resolve my complaints.
A truly truly terrible service provider with useless staff that either don't know how to do there job or just don't care.
Please do yourself a favour and choose another WiFi provider as talktalk will let you down massively and cause you nothing but anger and stress.

My telephone service was unavailable from the 21 October until the 8 November. TalkTalk has signed up to the Automatic Compensation Scheme, whereby they have to pay compensation within 30 days without the customer having to apply for it. Compensation is payable for every day after the service has been down for more than 2 days.

After 30 days I hadn't heard anything so I contacted them and after 45 minutes discussion they agreed compensation would be paid on my next bill. The next bill arrived on the 18 December and there was no compensation. I contacted them again and had to go through the whole process again. After 50 minutes the customer service rep said her manager had agreed that compensation was due and would be in my account the following day. After a week the compensation still hadn't been paid.

Using the company's complaint procedure I made a formal complaint on the 22 December. I received an acknowledgement of my complaint and was advised an Manager would contact me within 3 working days to discusss it. 4 working days passed and nobody had contacted me. I raised the issue again and was adivised the same thing: a Manager would contact me within 3 working days. That was 4 days ago and still no one has contacted me.

TalkTalk has a legal obligation to pay compensation but they are doing everything to avoid paying. I presume they think I will go away. I won't.

As far as during last 2 years I had issue only once with my internet connection and I couldn't complain before, today I have change my mind completely. Tried to close my account as moving to a new property where the internet is provided. Couldn't do it on their website as the continue button didn't work, tried online chat and after 20 mins of thousand of questions I have been given the number to call as this is a procedure(such a waste of my time they could tell me that before!). Tried to call the number 3 times, every time I finally manage to speak to someone it disconnected me and went silent from nowhere! 4th time, speaking to a lady who were speaking fast and completely not clear, so I told her to speak slower and she started to almost spell the words like I am an idiot which I told her to speak slower and she treated me like I am an idiot. While talking about my situation with cancelling SHE WAS YAWNING INTO THE PHONE!!! Very rude, very unprofessional and won't be recommending TalkTalk to anyone anymore as I used to before after such a bad experience.

Utterly, utterly, utterly shocking service. Broadband itself ok, but the entire experience around it has been so miserable, with them overcharging me, delaying start dates and losing records of my complaints that I feel angry and helpless. There is no recourse or proper regulator it seems. Truly atrocious.

Possibly the worst internet out there. If you’re thinking that you should go for talk talk to save money... don’t, you’re better off going without internet as it’ll make no difference having none vs being with talk talk. Choose to pay an extra £5 a month and you’ll be much happier with your moneys worth.

Changed to BT 3 routers later. Call centre can't speak or understand English. All they do is tell you to restart your router then order you a new one. Anlbsolute waste of time and money spent on calls... furious

Absolutely shocking service, been waiting for 10 days for them to connect our broadband, which is fair enough. Called them up as it wasn’t live on the 10th dAy. They said it would be another 5-7 working days. Called them after 7 working days were up, got told it was going to be another 3-5 working days. After 5 days called to ask if we can cancel as still had no broadband as they promised. Got told we couldn’t cancel and was going to be Another 3-5 days. After 5 days still no broadband. So we called up and eventually was able to cancel out of our contract, due to their poor service. Would not recommend to anyone!

From the moment I signed up to a one-year contract I knew I had made a mistake. Text messages and emails just kept coming "reminding" me that an engineer would visit to fit a new socket. Then, once up and running the connection kept dropping out.. Even with their tech support going around and around in circles trying to convince me that the problem had been solved, the connection kept dropping out for the entire contract term.

I tried to inform them of a change of address, and the call centre staff didn't seem to understand the concept of moving home.

Cancelling your broadband at the end of the contract?? Think again! Over three hours on multiple calls and still only spoke to one person who tried to transfer me to someone else, who promptly hung up. Sent two emails to their "concerns" email and ended up sending an abrupt email to the CEO Tristia Harrison. No idea if they ever got them - never got a reply, but it seems that my only option is to cancel the Direct Debit after the 12 months of payments and I'm clear of the contract.

Coming up to 28 days now of poor internet speeds and losing connection, if you contact them to ask what’s going on all they do is run a line test every time. I got transferred around 3 different departments which every one of them then completed a ‘line test’ even tho each over one on the phone did it, then it’s always please allow 24-48hrs and ring us back !!!!! So over Christmas and new year my household have had no internet service which had been a struggle especially for my children Christmas Day. Utter shambles do not use them

DO NOT JOIN this company!!! Waste of time and money. They don’t provide a service , their service is a joke, I am treated as a joke . I have one month with them and my internet went down 6 times!!!!!! For opening tv is taking about 5 min not saying about Netflix you have time to make a shower. Every time spend hours chatting with their service team to investigate why my internet not working . Same questione same answers not fixed problem. One of their team members blamed my phone

I ordered the the broadband before I read the reviews in sept, I thought oh great, I got the upgrade for the same price as the lower one, but apart from open reach coming with the the wrong equipment which delayed it for a day it's been running perfect, fingers crossed, no complaints yet

I've always had issues with the speed so I purchased a speed boost, this didn't boost it very much, top speed was about 30 Meg in my area,the many devices I have connected kept dropping out, at first when my contract was up I decided to stay due to the hassles of changing over, so I reluctantly renewed, believeing things would stay the same they gave me no indication during renewal that my speed boost would be cancelled, I discovered this in the email they sent me confirming renewal, my speed boost was cancelled within days, so my overall speed dropped to less than 20mbps, I contacted them asking why they said my new package didn't support the speed boost, luckily I was within the 7 day cooling off period so I cancelled after being passed to several departments first. Absolutely shocking customer service, I was paying 32 quid a month for that, now I pay Vodafone broadband 23 quid for a top speed that I get frequently of 59mbps and don't get the drop out issue! Just glad I read the email within the cooling off period. Never will I return to them again. They are cowboys!
