Closed my dads account 78 year old and moved house, thru 2 months later took money from him being vulnerable, after complaints so so many calls agreed to refund and can’t get the money returned, they are by far the worst company in terms of customer services and complaints process, going to have to escalate complaint to ofcom

I have just become another hapless victim of these utter cretins . I can't go into the ins & outs of it all because I think I might lose it so suffice to say every horrible thing you've heard is true . I wish two things , that I'd never heard of them & that I'd checked out the reviews here first before I signed up . Review first folks , always review .
Gillingham TalkTalk
I have waited six weeks to have broadband installed and it just hasn't happened. Two engineers have come to the house (and one just didn't arrive) and not done the work and then I've received messages saying they weren't able to because I was out. The helpline is anything but helpful, they put you on hold while they speak to openreach and then tell you wrong information. You then get passed from person to person, again, with wrong information being shared so you spend most of the call correcting people. There is nothing about TalkTalk and the service they provide that I would recommend to others. I eventually filed a formal complaint only to be told this would be closed when I told them I would be going to another provider. DO NOT USE THEM.

Absolutely pathetic. Terrible service, terrible customer service, and broadband is a joke. Not once since joining have we got what we pay for. Ring customer service up for help and end up being passed around and each give different answers. Trying to double charged now even though they confirmed over the phone that it had been paid already. To quote "the money was successfully taken but there is insufficient funds in your bank to pay the bill"?????

Recently had a problem with stability of connection which caused speeds to drop. Your service enabled me to monitor the position and also show the Openreach engineers when they visited. I am not saying they didn't believe me but so much easier to show them the speed check history visually.

Cambs. TalkTalk
Like most providers, it is only when it goes wrong that you realise how good or bad a company is. In six months I have had two major outages. One for ten days, which required three Openreach engineers to come out before the problem was solved. The final one, a more experienced chap, found the line fault that had eluded the others in about five minutes. The second time I was without internet for a week, because of a coding error at Talktalks end, which meant I was only getting a scrambled signal. When trying to get back online I found that the router I had, a Netgear, which was originally supplied by Talktalk, was no longer supported by Talktalk, so they tried to charge me for a new one!!!! Eventually they relented and sent me a freebie, as they should have done. I use the Hotmail interface as my 'client' email, and have my own domain name connected to my business and website. The break in broadband connection caused severe disruption to all the settings around my email, and took days further to sort out. I will say that some of the support staff did their best and were genuinely helpful, but others just could not be bothered, and at the end of the day all of them have their hands tied by a poor company. At the moment I am trying to get early release from my Talktalk contract, so I can move to a decent supplier.

Tried to sign up via uswitch which had a £100 voucher offer. Transferred to the TT website where I fill in all details and and get to the point where it tells me to wait for direct debit details to be verified. 10 minutes later I am still waiting so start online support chat.

Support idiot tells me I am on a uswitch website and it not working is nothing to do with TT and offers to sign me up manually. I have to point out that I wouldn't get the £100 uswitch voucher if I did that. Support tells me they can give me a £20 discount instead. What kind of idiot thinks being £80 worse off is an acceptable solution? The ones TT employ it seems.

I point out the URL I was on is talktalk the https certificate for the site was issued to talktalk, but, not a tt problem it is uswitch.

I didn't expect TT customer service to be good, I didn't expect to find out it was this bad before I even managed to sign up.

Speeds and connection has been good for a month, however we suddenly lost internet and lodged a fault with TalkTalk. They informed us on Friday that the issue was being worked on, then on Saturday we were told that an engineer is working on the issue, and would contact us between 18:00 and 21:00 for an update, which never happened. On Sunday we were told the issue was being worked on and would be fixed by 18:00, and then we were told by a different advisor that infact noone was working on our issue and that openreach does not work weekends (a lie), and that they would start working on the issue on Monday, to be fixed estimated Wednesday. This is unacceptable, and considering BT would fix issues straight away (including weekends) even though both providers use the openreach network, it seems you pay for the cheaper price by having useless support and terrible service. A total of 6 days without internet is costly and damaging for business, so I'd recommend paying the extra tenner a month for a competent provider. Disgraceful and useless service from TalkTalk.

using internet, since I signed up with you and a package that included a landline, the service has been awful, I have a monitor screen in a LG TV connected through the Ethernet and a cable from the box and port. The screen eventually allowed me access, however, it takes forever for the talktalk screen then the youview screen to go, I am supposed to have access to basic tv, I would have expected to be able to utilise the few tv channels such as bbc iplayer, itv, channel 4, and channel 5 ... nopt the bloody stuff you allow, some childrens channels and subscription. I am not interested in , I am interested in free tv.... basic... like back in the 1960's when you paid for a tv licence, and with now paying for the provision of broadband and wirless. the tv channels should be automatic ... when switching on, and off..... without having to wait ... whats the point of a speed in my internet when it takes so long to download the bloody start, whats the use of having a remote control when the bloody control cant access the specific channels - basic channels, why cant talktalk provide a decent - easy to access internet tv.... I choose 'guide' and switched onto bt sport x2 - bloody typical cannot get rid of it it remains on the screen now, I have no wish to pay extra of the sky and other 200 channels - that are ****

England TalkTalk
I've not been a TalkTalk customer for nearly under 2 years and I now start recieving letters from Debt collectors demanding payment for £35 as TalkTalk have sold on my account... I was out with my 18 months contract when I switched 2 years ago and to my knowledge made my last payment when I switched. I raised a complaint with TalkTalk and i initially got a response apologising saying a manager would contact me in the next 3 days. As this didn't happen I phoned them from the number in the email as they had stated this would be the quickest way to get an update to my complaint and this is where the fun begins... The incompetence of the Indian woman I spoke to (who took a good five minutes to even take my name) and kept requesting my name and postcode after every question, told me she could not assist me, refused to take my complaint reference and told me to contact the debt collection agency. Furious at this point I repeatedly tried to explain I was calling for an update to my complaint and she just kept repeating "take the number". Put me on hold and came back several minutes and told me to take down the number again... When I asked to speak to a manager and asked her name she then tried the age old "hello, hello?" Could hear laughing in the background and them she muted her phone, forcing me to hang up after 27 minutes of nothing. I responded to the original complaint on Monday and have still not had a reply so will be escalating to CISAS. I'm not even a customer and I'm having to deal with this! Their customer service and broadband are truly awful wouldnt deal with this company if they paid me! Avoid at all costs.

Ordered broadband and tv. Router never turned up. Installation team didn't turn up 5 times. Cancelled within 30 days and went to sky yet talk talk continued to charge me even though I had no products from them. This continued over a year and stopped. Now 5 years later they are pursuing the best through a debt collection agency for a service I've never had. Stay way away from talktalk. Nothing but poor service dreadful installation and impossible to get anything resolved.

Just awful. I was to get faster fibre fitted as I was having real problems with buffering on my Amazon firestorm, tablet, laptop etc. I waited for 5 hours, however the
engineer didn't arrive on time so I went out, hethen had the nerve to text me saying "don't go anywhere, we're on our way". Funny thing is I was driving back past my house and saw the engineer just as he was texting me! Couldn't stop as I was on a driving lesson. Then I get a message from talk talk telling me the engineer couldn't get access!! No **** Sherlock, he was late. What's not to understand??? Then I get 2 seperate messages to say talk talk will call me(on different days/times). Guess what? They didn't call to rearrange. Then I get an email saying my email address won't be able to be used anymore in a couple of months because I don't have a contact with talk talk! Unbelievable. Going to another provider.

Talk talk is the worst internet and service provider in the UK. Avoid them at all costs. They flat out lie to you to convince you to sign up and once you're trapped in a contract refuse to actually provide the service you were promised or even try and help you. A customer service manager kept shouting at us telling us it was our fault our service was cut off and called us stupid. I am autistic and she continuously talked over me and refused to listen to what I was saying, which caused me to break down. The service is inconsistent and don't expect anything more than the bare minimum speeds they specify, they never actually hit the mark you sign up for. For me it was quite literally a painful experience dealing with talk talk, we are genuinely excited to never have to deal with them again!

Internet does not work at all and Netflix was not working from the very start, saying there is no Internet connection. We have only been with talktalk for a few days but to cancel we have to pay the full price for the whole year.
Northampton TalkTalk
Where to start? It has been SO awful, that even the process of trying to leave TalkTalk has been incredibly distressing…
- There was a fault with my broadband that took 2 and a half hours of phone calls and online chats, over a few days, to get resolved.
- They would tell me the fault was resolved and then it would happen again.
- Every time you contact them it takes 10-15 minutes before the issue can actually be discussed (they have to spend ages waiting for your account to come up on their screen and it takes ages to get through their security).
- Every time you speak to a new person (they pass you from team to team and back again), the issue has to be explained all over again.
- It is very difficult to understand each other. I would explain the issue and they would usually misunderstand (with the exception of when I managed to get through to a manager. Often I was unable to understand what they were saying).
- During all this I was told I had 'some orders' in process. I had not placed any orders. They told me I had 'done one click' on an email I'd been sent and placed an order for something. I had not. They did not believe me. I later checked my email and I hadn't even opened any of the sales emails from TalkTalk in recent months. They said they would cancel said 'order' (surely it can't even be legal for someone to make a legally binding action through one click on an email?).
- This led to a conversation about pricing. I had come off fixed term and was then paying a ridiculously high price each month. They offered me a better deal. I agreed to go ahead with this and start a new fixed term contract. When the time came around for this to have started, I checked my bill: I was now paying even more than before...
- I had three different conversations with them about this ranging from 1-2 hours long each. They denied that they had agreed a new fixed term contract with them with this price. One of the advisors even said that the 'one click order' had never been cancelled and concluded that what the person had agreed with me over the phone was just to continue with the 'one click order' that had apparently been on my account. This of course does not make sense since I was still on a rolling contract, although I did now have the faster fibre, just at an extortionate price...
- Instead of the refund for my overpayment, I was offered a 'goodwill gesture' of £10 that nowhere near matched what I was actually owed.
- They offered me a new contract that matched what had been agreed weeks before. In addition to the better price, I would be on a rolling contract rather than a fixed term contract. I asked the advisor to email me the offer this time since I could not trust the verbal offer after what had happened last time. He said he was unable to send emails, and eventually agreed that one of his colleagues would do this. I never received an email. When I called them again they knew nothing about the offer, and denied that it was possible.
- During all this I asked for copies of a couple of 2018 bills since in 'My Account', only the last 12 months-worth of bills are available. When they arrived they were 2019 bills and had a strange town included in the address field.
- They agreed the lower price, but with a fixed term contract. I explained I would go ahead but would take my complaint to the CEO since they were still not acknowledging that they owed me money and had failed to put in place the new contract that had been agreed, and had denied they had ever owed it to me. I was told that if I pursued my complaint then the 'goodwill gesture' would not be given to me.
- I told them I would switch to another company and asked them to escalate my complaint further. They said they would and that I would receive a phone call. I received 3 strange phone calls from an 0800 TalkTalk number at different times that literally rang my phone for half a ring and thus were impossible to pick up.
- In the meantime I arranged to switch to Vodafone on 17th Feb. Then Plusnet offered me a better service. I cancelled Vodafone and was told that Vodafone manage the communication with TalkTalk so I did not need to do anything.
- On 17th Feb my Internet connection stopped. When I called TalkTalk (strangely, I still had a phone line, and still do even writing this!) it became clear that my complaint was still open but that they were not interested in responding to it. I was passed from team to team and in over the space of 16 hours I spoke to 7 different people. In that time I was told lots of different things like 'maybe the openreach exchange is being upgraded', 'I can see your line is still active'. It wasn't until I spoke to a manager that I was told what had happened: they had disconnected my internet because they were told by another provider that I was moving to them on that date and said they were not aware that this had been cancelled. I was told there was nothing that can be done because the line is now disconnected and to have internet I would need to start a new contract with them (not a chance!).
- I did explain to them that because my Plusnet contract doesn't go live till March, they would otherwise have two weeks of extra custom from me, but, computer says 'no', of course. During the 96 minute conversation I looked up prices for buying extra data from my mobile phone provider and decided this was a far better solution in the interim anyway, since the silver lining is: I AM NOW FREE OF TALKTALK!
I hope I have been able to give you a sense of how crazy-making these experiences with TalkTalk have been. I felt beyond frustrated, and violated, since as far as I am concerned they have actually stolen from me, having gone back on what they agreed, and then denied all of this and not giving me full reimbursement for the resulting overpayment. To have to spend hours and hours getting anything resolved is just soul-destroying, especially when they have such a non-accountable attitude. I can't imagine any circumstances under which it would be worth getting involved with this company in any shape or form. I am writing this in the hope that I can prevent others from having the experience I did.

Was with Talk Talk for many years before moving to France for 7 years. On return I thought I might as well return to them. Wrong move. Internet drops off many many times a day. Had issues the other day as I couldn't reach a couple of sites I need. I realised that it was Talk Talk's problem as I couldn't access via my laptop, my husband's laptop or my phone. Was told to contact the sites as it was their problem. While on the phone I tried using my mobile data via O2 and surprise surprise reached the sites immediately. They took my virus alerts off and I was able to access them. The same day I phoned again as the speed was of little use, like old dial up. I was told it was my devices !!!! So, got on to BT and am changing over on the 27th and can't wait for that day to come. All in all I spend 4 1/2 hours on the phone to Talk Talk before I couldn't bear it any more. If you want to be diagnosed with blood pressure then a 6 month period of being with Talk Talk is recommended.

I really can’t give them any stars - they are the epitome of a pathetic excuse for a broadband provider. Customer service is a waste of time and their Superfast fibre broadband is at best useless. Try advertise up-to 79 Mbps and yet we consistently get at best dial up speed. The worst internet provider ever in the history of broadband providers. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
Manchester TalkTalk
Since 2013 Talktalk have been overcharging me for a line and broadband on a rented property. In brief, we were suppose to be provided a 10meg line and I now understand from all the tenant complaints and learning about speeds that we are receiving 2.4meg which is extremely bad in todays terms.

I have been paying £45 per month for years and have no phone at the property, after complaining and not receiving a bill in years which they advised me to check my email which I did check, again still nothing recieved since I opened my account in 2013.

I asked for a refund and they provided a complete load of cobblers, I been ripped off, overcharged and on top of this all insulted.

My argument is, how many others are not being provided the speed and services and being charged for a poor service??

I have cancelled and advise all people that there are far much better providers out there then talk talk.

Plusnet offered me fibre for £21, it really upsets me that I have been paying £45 for 2meg line, disgusting and in all honestly, I've not even had a letter or email back following my formal complaint, daylight robbery!

Goodluck if you use them....I'm as honest as they come.

This company is in my opinion run by gangsters,or at least they act like them. Today when after spending hours sorting a faulty broadband connection via there overseas call center, they finally traced the fault over the line to my BT wall mounted connection box. Its seems the boxes built in filter has developed a fault. They then said that I needed an engineering visit and it would cost me £40. I went ballistic pointing out that the box has nothing whatsoever to do with me and is from BT as part of the line rental. They then had the audacity to say that I had somehow broken the box. The wall connection box is in perfect external condition and lives behind furniture in my study. They have now agreed to to a free visit after I turned nasty.
This company are absolute rubbish who hide from their customers in overseas call centers.Do not go with them as you will surely live to regret it.
