Decided to review this right after regaining broadband connection, after it has been out for the past half hour. This is not the first time it has happened, in fact it happens quite frequently. At least once a fortnight. The upload speed is okay but download is pitifully low. I run a wireless connection which is two floors above the router, and I get roughly 18Mb upload speed, but a whooping 0.5Mb upload. I really don't recommend Sky.

Appalling customer service with Agents who haven't got a clue what they are doing. After almost 10 years loyalty to Sky I will never use their service again. Absolutely shocking!!!

The promises made to me, though vague (up to 20 Mb), is far below what I expected from my supplier.

One word will describe this service, disgusting. It is not the kind of 'Broadband' speed I was expecting at all, and to think I had to wait 2 months for them to actually activate this poor, poor excuse of a service. My advice.... AVOID!

please avoid this company! i was on my second router within a year of taking the contract. faulty routers are just one problem, the wifi signal will not go through walls/ceiling/glass! the router is only 'useful' if using an ethernet cable and even then i got a maximum of 1.1mbs. average speed is about 800kbs! truly awful product and pathetic customer service, when asking them about poor signal they always say it's my end that i'm not putting the router in a good place or that there is no problem and on their computer it shows 17mbs! lies lies lies! also just to sign off with the fact you CANNOT make a complaint. go on try and complain, there is no place to complain and the sky moderators delete ANY bad comments from their forums! sly sky indeed

Drops connection at least weekly. Sky blame BT and BT blames Sky. Signed up for line cost only for 12 months then £5 per month for Internet. Couple of months in the bill went up £5 but great news, I could now have free evening calls. I didn't ask for any calls as covered with mobile. After 12 months internet cost kicked in as agreed but cost now £7.20 extra instead of the agreed £5. Not large sums I know but I am annoyed that Sky will hold you tightly to the terms of the original contract but change the fees whenever they feel like it. Changing provider as soon as contract ends.

Sky is day light robbery, Paid 24mb, we get around 11mbps. Wouldn't be so bad if its not a daily struggle to actually use it... shuts down completely on a daily basis, Ring the company you say? "Unplug Router wait x amount of seconds and plug back in that will solve the problem" *phone down* guess what... never works... NEVER. I want to Download somethings? have you got 3 days to wait? I wish that was an over exaggeration... I am not one for complaining and leaving reviews but I am at the end of my tether with the company now... Virgin media here we come...

Ironically trying to write this review but struggling due to the speed of Sky broadband. Would never recommend this provider to anyone!! The speed is awful, service shoddy, reliability terrible! I find the diagnosic page infuriating whenever the connection is down. Then there is the two hour wait to speak to an actual human being, how then just tells you to try turning it on and off again! Rubbish! I recommend spending a few extra pound a month to actually be able to access the Internet

Ok I am not a customer with Sky but I just used their website to see what service I could get into a property. I was asked to phone a tel nos and have just spent half an hour listening going through what is clearly mostly about marketing eith future or now and when we finally get to the agent answering the question: there is no Sky BB service available. I assume Sky knows this but just wants to sell me something. Any Sky reps monitoring this - I know Sky TV is available at the property but on the basis of this interaction alone I will not be signing up.

Was with O2 for several years without any problems, good service and connection. Think I only had to phone customer service once during 4 years and problem sorted. We got switched over to Sky a few months ago and problems started shortly after. For 6 weeks now we've had just dialup speeds and connection keeps dropping. Have phoned customer service so many times and get taken through same tests every time. Have lost count of the amount of times I've taken the face plate off and moved wires around. Seems to be no record of the problem and have to run through same stuff every time. Finally sent out an engineer last Saturday after 6 weeks of chasing. He was here for 5 minutes and problem now passed back onto Open reach so expecting a BT engineer out again (2nd time). Unless I keep chasing nothing gets done and the fault just disappears off their system, then we have to start all over again. Having read some of the reviews on here I think I will try and change to another provider asap. Have been asking about a refund seeing as our connection speeds are so slow but told no refunds can be given until the problem is fixed. Absolutely useless so far - wouldn't recomment to anyone.

    Hello,
I just moved to new property after being customer with Sky for a year and they have been helpful and cancel my old contract as i was not sure if my new property will be ok for Sky.
Once i moved called them and within 3 days i got the Hub and next day the engineer to check my line.
After the internet was activated i struggled to go online but Alex the Bulgarian agent on the phone was bery polite amd explained everything to me so i can understand that it was phone line issue not Sky.
He advised me someone within 72 hours will fix this and i should have broadband on.
He kindly ask me if i am aware that the number i dial is chargeable and i said i know.
I think Sky need more agents like Alex as he was extreamly friendly amd professional in same time.
I hope this will go directly to him amd he deserve Big Well done and thank you for your help.
    Much appreciated

Been with Sky for a few years, the speeds were awful and it's really expensive. Their owned supplied routers are terrible and they limit using 3rd party routers. WE have recently switched to post office broadband and noticed a big difference in speeds, at it's about half the price.

Broadband speed hasn't been bad at all, if i did have an issue (once), their tech team were really helpful. i live quite far away from the actual box so what i get is very responsible

Customer service is within the UK, least everyone i have spoken to have been. I see this as a good thing, keeping jobs within the UK. NOT for any other reason before someone gets soft.

Called within a view of leaving as Vodafone seemed to have a better deal. Called Sky and within minutes i was offered a package with a discount of £120 for the year. taking into account the contract time with Sky was less, i don't have to mess about at all with changing providers. I was pretty chuffed. Never had an issue with payment, can't see how you would with a DD. Service in comparison to TALKTALK is a dream. Wouldn't ever dream of using their services again.

sky customer services, what can I say? Abysmal, I have never in my life received such appalling service from a provider. My Sky box is not working properly and this fault has been going on for weeks, sadly sky are unable to fix the fault and want to charge me £65 for the privilege of sending out an engineer!!. I have don't hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue and totally exasperated I now have asked them to cancel my contract, which they are saying they cannot do. They honestly believe that it is correct and fair to keep a person in their contract with the services not working properly!! They tell me I'm stuck in my contract and despite the service being faulty I have to pay for it! My advice?...... Do not sign up with sky , run a mile!! I am taking legal advice to resolve this issue

    Absolutely abhorrent.

It should be embarrassing just how shockingly and horrifically bad the poor excuse for an internet connection that Sky call 'WiFi' is. If you have a Sky TV box and use it at the same time the already poor internet connection ceases to do ANYTHING. It took me two days to install a 2.4MB file...

There are multiple times every day where I am tempted to take the router and break it over my knee out of pure anger from the fact that Sky have the audacity to actually charge people money for this abhorrent so called 'Internet Connection' - to be honest I don't think breaking the router in half over my knee would do anything to make the connection worse. Spare yourself the money and the headache and choose another provider for the sake of your sanity. Sky is shockingly bad and MAJOR improvements need to be made before Sky can realistically have the ability to call this WiFi.

Been with them since February 2013 and speed has been an issue, paying for 7mbps and only getting less that 1mbps, even on off peak.I was fed up complaining, Phoning and commenting of the help form.I have got no where. Every time i complained it was with someone new, And i had to explaining my self over and over and over. Than the would ask if i did all the checks, I told them where to go.What i found out was BT wholsale is main supplier and other company's, Sky, TalkTalk,EE all only get so much bandwidth. Ive been paying £30 a month for 8 moths for nothing. I am now leaving them to go back to BT.

You will have no end to problems with sky. First, they tell us we can't have super fast in our new home so they give us essentials. That's between 0.014mbps to 1.2mbps for a week. We ring and complain and they say they can actually give us super fast so we upgrade. Queue to upgrade day. Whatever the engineer did, he didn't upgrade. Now we have no internet at all. This is a complete mockery. I have presentations and projects to research and deliver and can't because sky are just bad.

Don't Ever use SKY...They are intent to extort and rip off as much people as possible..They we're taki g direct debit out of my account Every 2 weeks instead of monthly..I contacted them several times about it and despite assurances it continued..Each time i canceled the direct debit they then wanted me to pay a penalty fee for cancelling...After i terminated their service within 10 days they send you a Bill for £162 which suppose to be for early termination fee, router and Boster fee..NEVER USE SKY.

I understood that we would not recieve high speeds in the area, but our options were limited at the time. However the exchange has just been upgraded to llu. Sky are selling the free broadband package broa to new customers in the town. I phoned to enquire when us (exsiting customers) were being offered this. I got 2 different answers. From cancellation department: 'sky had too many customers to advise and so would not do so'. This was refuted by the next lady in the broadband section, who checked my details and said that she would try to foce a migration, but after checking with someone else ,came back and asked if I was not happy that she checked 'cause it is sold out'??????????? Today it is still stated on all the checkers and comparison sites, that the package is available to this postcode!!!!The best that she could do was reduce my cost from £17-00 to £12-00 for 6 months
I will try one more time to speak with sky, before looking at alternatives!

I live in the country so don't have fibre. Our broadband drops regularly, slows down in the evening and weekend so much do we can't stream
Because I'm not in a main network area I pay much more but receive a poor unreliable service
Shouldn't that be the other way around ?
    Not happy at all

I guess I must be one of the lucky sky customers,my fibre speed averages 32mbs and very rarely drops below 30 mbs.i recently had decided to change providers and sampled the indian call centres I could not get back to sky quick enough.i,ve been a customer for more than 20 years and have always found customer services to be helpful and polite.veryhappy with sky
