8 engineers in 2 1/2 months and still not got broadband for most the day. Lucky if it is on 4hours a day. Insulting £10 Tesco voucher as goodwill gesture stuff that I pay them God knows how much not to mention external services that rely on their internet. Try refunding your customers for loss of services even bloody TV service relies on the internet if u want to use box sets or movies. Final straw engineer for 7 hours yesterday no joy getting sky broadband up and running but low and behold he sticks bt infinity box on and it's all working 2 sky routers not. He leaves 10 mins later I arranged to have BT installed sky can stick their crap services where sun don't shine

First the bad: The router isnt great. but you can invest in a better router or in WAPs to fix that.

The pricing. Its not cheap and if you invest in sky cinema there are still a bunch of films on sky store that you have to pay more for.

The good: Customer service has always been fine. Never unhelpful... but not ground breaking either. I've always been able to get help where I've needed it.

The BB is decent though. My work computer is hard wired into the router and I never have any issues at all, I stream movies in HD on the tv (2 tvs at the same time).

I've just put the 'phone down again after being kept on hold for 20 mins by a Sky agent.
I've made a dozen 'phone calls so far and sent off half a dozen emails.
Two weeks ago Sky issued a contract for Broadband installation.
Twe weeks later I'm still waiting for it to be installed.
'Phone calls to the customer service number provided get routed to the Uk who then try to get then routed back to the Irish team but you just end up on hold listening to dreadful muzak.
Some of the agents speak poor English and some of their emails are almost unintelligible gobbledegook.
If you wish to retain your sanity avoid dealing with SKY - quite possibly the worst telecommunications company we're ever had to deal with.
    And that includes Eir ...

We switched to Sky and we were informed we could claim back out fees from previous provider if we switch. Despite 28 emails, using Sky’s complaints procedure and speaking with an advice, we have not received it. We only receive an irritating generic email. They also took money from our account without permission but later re-credited this. Once our contract is up, we’re leaving. It is impossible to get through to anyone to resolve issues.

Have been with Sky Broadband on their Unlimited Package since 2012. Only once before (in 2013), have I had issues, but a replacement router was sent out then which appeared to solve the problem. The service has been fine until last week when Sky performed some "Essential Maintenance outside of their control" overnight on their network infrastructure. These were not improvements. Since last weekend my internet has been progressively getting worse, over SIXTEEN disconnections last Sunday, THIRTY-ONE disconnections on Monday, to over ONE HUNDRED disconnections yesterday, and yes I have kept log files. Every time the connection drops an orange light appears on the router meaning its an issue with the network connection, i.e. at their end. With this frequency of line drops every 5 to 10 minutes the service is completely unusable. And yes, I have been in contact with Sky and they have performed a line test to no avail. The real issue lies in their overtaxed infrastructure due of the launch of SkyQ, oh yes, that shiny new box that brings SkyTv to those that didn't have it or lets you watch in another room also uses the same tired old internet architecture that is trying to supply existing broadband and fibre customers. Where's that extra bandwidth coming from? Whoops Sky didn't think of that. They have a history of this too, in 2013 (probably the source of my previous issue) they finally admitted to signing up too many customers and exceeding capacity. Looks like they've done it again! And what's with all these 5 star customer reviews that appeared here yesterday? Sky Employees trying to cover up their Companies' broadband meltdown? If you want to read about the real picture try looking at reports from down-detector websites and social media. Most customers want to cancel and are ready to chuck their routers out of the window. Can they cancel? Well they can try if they want to wait over an hour in a phone queue to do so; another of Sky's failings. In short, internet sucks, customer service is non-existent. AVOID at all costs!!!!

Shocking customer service. Told different things every call, and contradictory. Changed to EE on 20th Nov. They said they will tell sky. They didn't. Due to a ' fibre' issue?? So I paid the 28th Nov bill, to be told, call on or after 19th Dec for a final bill email, and I will be refunded accordingly. Did that today.. to be told I have a £49 credit due to me. But I must pay a further bill on 28th Dec ?, to receive the credit? Bonkers !

I shall keep this short and sweet, in case it turns into a rant.

My internet connection fluctuates constantly throughout the day, going from fair/poor to just poor. It is so bad that I get constant hitches in service where either it struggles to refresh a page on the net, or loses connection altogether. And this is when sitting just one room away from the crappy sky router. I have to use a signal booster in my bedroom upstairs, otherwise it is non-existent. Seriously, to all those people who are thinking of going with Sky... just don't. Choose ANYBODY else but them (apart from Talk Talk of course).

Website offers very limited information of the services you actually own. No way to improve your internet without upgrading to their insanely expensive Superfast. And their customer service is extremely bad. Would not recommend this to anyone. Can get it cheaper and better from most other companies.

Awful, avoid like the plague! Unless you want to repeat the same thing to some poor chirpy employee who sounds confused of why you want to cancel your subscription (probably employ actors as they must have the same conversation day, in day out)

Absolutely horrendous. Stated I used £73 of internet in 9 days on my unlimited Wi-Fi.
They sorted that out and then rebilled me for 3months to make up for the credit they allegedly given me for their mistake.
When calling they just hang up or transfer. Nothing actually gets dealt with.

Currently hour 3 on the phone to them on my only day off.

I would not recommend using them.

Horrible experience since renewing my contract with sky! Constantly pressing the RESET button to get a short period of wifi connection. To then be told I have got to wait another week for an engineer to get round and have a look for me to see what the problem is after numerous times of speaking to customer services and taking the bl%%dy face plate off!
Safe to say I reminded sky about there breech of contract as it would be 50 something days with out no/ very little internet connection. To then be told they can refund me £7.50 for the inconvenience, safe to say I have cancelled early and will never use this so called FAST broadband provider again.

Sold on a promise. Delivered on an empty promise. The reliability of this new sky system is disgraceful. If I performed this bad for my clients I would expect to be sacked. Appalling reliability but I am sure it won’t be sky fault. Let’s face it it is always someone else’s responsibility these days....

Just got off the phone to a condescending little butt wipe. I'm not a customer but I politely called to discuss potentially moving from virgin to sky broadband.

The reciver on the line spoke way tooooooo fast. Now I'm a pretty intelligent person so it's not a case of not understanding. I asked him to repeat himself 1x and this idiot placed his mouth so close to he phone i could barely understand anything he was saying.

After that I asked him on average what the cost would be after the contract ended for just the broadband if i chose to remove the telephone line. He gave me wishy washy answers but never got to the point. So I said to him because I'm not confident about his answer I will call back another time after I've thought it over and done my own research.

That's when his manourisms took a next turn. Extremely sarcastic, unfriendly and abrupt goodbye from him.

I guess it's all about commission for him. But for me it's all about the small print. If my querys are not resolved best belive I'm not taking up your offer. Not all things tgat glitter is gold. And that kid proved it. If your customer service is bad and I've not even joined yet, just imagine if I was a customer.

    Stay clear!

I missed to pay my bill just for a day and they turned off my broadband . I paid it after a day and then i had to call hundred of times to customer service just to get the internet back, i am really disappointed with their customer service. I didn't have my broadband turned on for a days even after paid my bill, because they are not interested in customer queries and the call centre is obsuletly unhelpful. I have had really bad experience with sky.

Extremely disappointed with sky. I cancelled my contract at end of December with it finishing end of Jan. Sky proceeded to take payments out of my account for Feb and march. When I rang they said they acknowledged there error and would refund within 72hours, a week went by and no refund. Contacted again and said it won't be till April that I get the refund and I was misinformed.

That same week whilst waiting for my refund I was contacted to say I needed to return the kit and if not done by 30th march I would be charged. Whilst chasing the refund I asked about the return of the equipment and that I had no packaging. They stated this would be with me on the 21st and I explained that I will be away and unable to return by the 30th and that If the packaging had been sent within a timely manner and not less than 9 days before being charged I would of returned it by now. They said if it's not returned then I will be charged on 1st April, I repeatedly explained this is not possible to which they said purchase your own packaging at my own expense. With sky already having my money and me needing to put food on the table this is not acceptable. I would not recommend sky to anyone. I would also recommend when leaving cancel your direct debit as there system doesn't not work correctly (as stated by sky agent).

This is an advise to everyone that decide to joint to SKY please avoid this company their customer service is awful and SKY is totally and completely in breach of the customer rights. They prevent my migration with another company despite no outstanding debts were due. Employees at the customer centre are very impertinent and are there to generate troubles to customers

This is the worse company I ever dealt with!
I ordered broadband and the engineer came to visit/instal it but I was away. We checkhed & noticed that we have access to internet, so my partner contacted SKY and explained that we have internet and they said that's fine. Suddenly after 2 weeks, they cancelled my order without prior notice!! I can't believe it!

Broadband not working, rang on Friday night waited over a hour to try and get it fixed only to find department closed at 11pm. Today rang waiting near hour again to find there is a broadband problem but it will be fixed in a couple of hours. 4 hours later still down, then told use new text service as it's quick? What a joke they take over hour to text back. Sky customer service is a joke.

Truly awful support, rude staff and poor activation times. Router is practically made of dog poo - slow, missing features and they have the audacity to charge £70 for it. Had my line "plugged into the wrong socket" and took weeks for them to even admit fault and fix it. I received no compensation for this, despite asking.

My sky broadband is complete rubbish it seemed really good at first but after a few months it has dropped massively. Appreciate that there are multiple users in my house but that only explained the drop in speed and not why it randomly disconnects at will multip times a day. The step by step help is also unless as it changes nothing and contacting an actual person is impossible unless your willing to pay £3.50per min. I personally find this to be a joke and will be switch providers as soon as possible

First, this is more about Open Connect, Sky’s subcontractor, than Sky. However, someone at Sky signed a very piss poor contract with an overly generous SLA and so it’s on them as well.

We made the mistake of attempting to upgrade the internet connection to broadband (fiber to the curb) and have been rewarded with a 7 business day wait for connection and then a complete outage of both phone and internet. I’m guessing that it’s not in the SLA for the technician (they are NOT engineers) to run a line verification test to ensure the switchover was done correctly and the lines are at least fully functional if not performing as specified as now both the phone and internet are dead.

Sky simply shrugs their shoulders and says, “Hey, it’s not us, it’s Open Connect and we they have an SLA of 2-5 business days to fix it.” Narrator’s Voice: Because some nit wit business manager thought it was an acceptable response time.

So, now, my 75 year old MIL has no internet and no phone for 2-5 working days because a technician could not be secure a simple line change over OR run a line verification test to ensure it was working. I guess there were additional poor job executions to get to.

I am told we are just unlucky. I wish you better luck.

Promised 11-17mb/s, getting 1.5mb/s at best. Sky blame the lines, had BT engineer out twice (we had to pay once) and no problem with the line.

Sometimes when called the service agent would lie through their teeth and say we are receiving around 12mb/s.

2/10 would discourage anyone from having sky internet unless they had it free with a package.

Broadband really struggles when two or more people are using apps like YouTube while connected to wi-fi which you wouldn’t expect when paying 50+ pound for internet, wouldn’t recommend unless living alone.

been on this sky broadband for 4 years and its been the worst service ever. internet gets cut out in the middle of the night for no reason and when my internet stops working it takes them 3-4 weeks sometimes for sky to fix the problem. I requested a home move for 2 weeks advance and asked for my internet to stay on until then. the next day my internet gets cut out. when i phoned about the problem ive been told nothing can be done and the internet wont get turned on. i try to explain that is not what i want or asked for but the rubbish manager that i spoke to said he will look back into the phone and see what was said. but even so what is the point. i wanted to cancel my move with sky and let the contract run out with them which expires next month but they wont even let me do that. managers do not know how to speak to a customer aswell some being very cheeky. in the area i live in no they is no other services thats why we choice and stayed with sky but after today i am happy after 4 years i will be leaving

Horrible !!! Stay away people from this company. Theirs selling practices are so bad that I feel they should be reported somewhere for a legal action . Customer service I would rate 0 if possible. When rang up someone actually hung up on me . They overcharged me . The internet is rubbbish , speed is rubbish . I thought after being with Talk talk I would never have to go through nightmare again. Well I was wrong ..... Be ashamed ....

Had sky tv and internet installed 11 months ago. Within 2 months the box stopped working properly and had to be changed. Been fine since although we have been unable to purchase any films, including the free one offered at Christmas! However, the broadband has been unreliable from day one and the issues have yet to be resolved. Have had numerous engineers out. Each one blames someone else. The internet connection kept dropping so eventually it was slowed down so much that it is now almost unuseable! It solved the problem of it dropping but at times we can't even put a photo on FB as the signal is too weak. Tried to watch a film on catch up tv and it took 8 hours to download to the box.
Over the last 11 months we have been promised various things.... free line rental until the problem is resolved, for instance. Yesterday sky rang me to offer a £7 discount. This was raised to half price line rental for the next 3 months (£28) but I would have to sign up for another year. Now WHY would I do that? Have had unreliable and slow internet since being with them and they think I'm going to stay? NOT A CHANCE!!!!

Absolutely abysmal. I've had problems with this broadband connection constantly. At first, I figured it was where my home was, but after moving house the connection was still absolutely disgraceful. The speed of the broadband was good, but that's only when it wasn't acting up. Every few days my sky would come up with the message "192.168.0.1" and suggested only one option to fix the broadband, to disconnect the router for 5 seconds and reconnect. Every time, this didn't solve the problem. Even after contacting sky themselves, the problem still wasn't solved. Sometimes it reconnected for 5 minutes before disconnection with the same message. By far the WORST broadband I have EVER received and if they don't fix this soon they will lose a valued customer! I am someone who depends on the internet connection to complete work and my work is suffering for this pathetic connection for which I expect to receive a higher standard given that I am paying for it.
