Very bad experience with Three Mobile. They make you buy a second SIM with a plan, when you buy a phone with them, so you end up paying your device, your normal package plan + another Plan for a SIM. Basically, it's their policy, so prepare yourself to pay! After two years paying my number and another SIM with a basic tariff, that I have never used, they make me cancel this other SIM plan (after the contract expired after these two years) and make me pay another £30 pounds, only to close this SIM, which, of course, I never used.

I went into the Three shop in Highcross, Leicester, with queries and problems that I had with my new phone. The two staff who helped me were outstanding; with so much knowledge and such a wish to help. They sorted everything, and it wasn't a quick fix, taking 2 minutes, but they had patience. So, thank you to Three. I would not hesitate to use them again.

It took 20 minutes on the phone with customer service, that as the phone provider, they are the only ones who can give me an “unlock code”. Phones issued after 2014 don’t need one, but my phone was issued 2012. Why wasn’t that the first question they ask? Instead I have to argue for 20 minutes that I do need an unlock code, even the phone screen is asking for a lock code. The people at the call centre in India, talk over you and do not let you finish your sentences. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH

The worse company I have ever come across. All what they care about is your money. No consideration for customers. The automated system is been set in a way that if you want to cancel the service you would not get through.
I have been paying for 16 months for service I have not used and they admit that and there is no willingness out of good gesture for repaying my money back or even part of it.
I strongly advice everyone not to take any contract with three is just a ripoff, disgusting awful company.
I would just give ZERO, ZERO for all the ratings. And a copy of this letter with the details of my experience with three is been passed on to watch dog and trading standard agency.

I have been with Three for over a year now and have been very happy with them. I was previously with O2 and my bills varied from month to month - lots of small charges for things. But since moving to Three my bill each month has been exactly as promised.

The transfer was smooth and any support issues I have raised have been dealt with efficiently. And network coverage seems pretty good to me too. So, all in all I would recommend Three.

I took out a contract, received a confirmation email stating my delivery date (today) taken a day off work, waited in all day, called Three to see what was happening just to be told that they had cancelled my application. No email, text or phone call to tell me this was happening and there is no way of me finding out exactly why. They just said it's must likely that I had put an incorrect detail on the application. Why they couldn't have just contacted me to ask for that detail I don't know. They managed to take my upfront payment out of my bank account but couldn't manage to email me to say my application had been cancelled! Not happy at all. I've never been with three before and after today and reading some of the other reviews, it looks like I've had a lucky escape!

Be warned Three Mobile are allowing third party companies to commit fraud in my eyes and this is why. Three mobile suddenly took out an extra £27.52 out of my account on my bill, I was soon on the phone to see what is going on. They say that another company called Tap2Bill has charged me through my mobile for a service that I have taken out, I know nothing about this at all and told them that this is wrong and obviously fraudulent. They answer telling me that I need to cancel this subscription that I know nothing about and continue after several calls to say this. They tried on one point to do a conference call with this company and was not successful as the phone kept going dead, after a lot of angry words and calls they refunded me this amount but say they should not do this. I ended my two phones with them and now they are saying I owe more charges from this imaginary subscription hence why I am going to advertise this as much as possible because everyone needs to know that this can happen to anyone and if you look online there is hundreds of people having the same problems and getting charged for it and not getting their money back. We as customers are not told from the start about any third party companies that can charge us via our Three mobile. Also be aware that the regulators are aware of these problems yet do not seem to do anything and just say it is between our self and Three. I have now joined BT who on email have stated there will be no extra charges as they do not allow this to happen and have capped all phones to zero so we get no surprise charges (Well done to BT) Be aware people and will update on further communications with Three mobile, a company that in our eyes allows third party companies to defraud their customers and just do not seem to care. Please look out for lots of other reviews and publications and pass on to friends and family of how they do business and how they can do the same to anybody.

I don't get any service from three since I don't have any signal on my phone. Can't make any calls, can't text, can't use data either. Just have red no signal thing all the time. Have now idea what I am paying for! Tried to go to a local three store- useless. Report network issues almost daily- never heard anything back from them! Not sure how they legally exist for taking money and not providing any services. What a scheme! Three Sucks!!!

Unbelievably bad customer service. Spoke to over 10 different people over the phone to try activate my account but no one could tell me the same answer. My account was lost, apparently i didn't exist and my postcode was registered to another person. Tried to cancel but I have to wait 72 hours for the account to be activated. I will believe it when I see it. Not holding much luck with these guys. Should have gone with Sky.

Terrible customer service.
Terrible customer service. Twice now Three has taken the money from my account to early. I changed the date to the 1st of every month and they have continued to take it later. Spoke to an adviser that assured me it will be taken on the 1st next month and again its been taken to early causing me to go over drawn twice and be charge by my bank. When I called Three there solution was to have me call my bank to cancel the diret debt and pay manually from now on (Which I bet there is an extra charge on).

Awful service for there mistake as I've effectively been lied to by an adviser who assured me the details have been changed and now I'm being charged extra AGAIN due to there incompetence or lying just to get rid of me quickly. Once my contract is up I will be leaving Three and I'll tell anyone not to go with this network.

I had previously been a loyal customer of three; I left them once before (on good terms) only because I found a better deal. So based on my previous good experience of Three I had no hesitation in returning to them. Sadly second time around and the service is dire. I started having problems with my mobile phone (iPhone) very early on in the contract, phone kept freezing and calls kept dropping, texts sending multiple times even though an alert popped up stating message failed to send. I phoned Three Customer Services several times on this issue within the first 12 months; each time they fobbed me off telling me I need to do a factory reset, reboot or install new software. Despite all of this the problems did not go away. My phone contract is now 1yr and 39 days which means that my 1 yr Apple warranty has lapsed but I am still within my 2 year warranty with Three (as I found out today). To rectify the issues which as mentioned have been on-going for the past year; three are now telling me that I need to take my phone to Apple and pay the £300 to have it repaired and only then will they re-imburse me under warranty if the fault is not down to damage. Yet had they dealt with the issue correctly when I first reported it my phone could have been repaired without me incurring any up front costs. My dealings with Three since returning to them has shown Three to be incompetent with poor knowledge, bad record keeping and dire customer care (each phone call taking around an hour of my time). I would not recommend Three to anyone and I will be leaving them never to return as as soon as my contract permits.

Worst mobile provider I've ever been with, customer service no * network no * cost too much ,ie with Three £43 month for rubbish service, now I'm with Tesco that are BRILLIENT £18 mnth EXELLENT service far more data,min, texts , never again will I have anything to do with three, look at trustpilot reviews first 30 three reviews 1 red star.

The worst network in the UK and their customer service is waste of time as they made me stay on call for 30 minutes; transfered from one department to another as I'm trying to get PAC Code to transfer my number over to another network but they told me to call back tomorrow so they would give me PAC code, apparently generating this code is rocket science according to three.

you go cheap and you pay the price. Three are cheap for a reason but there's always someone who will bite. I was one of them. Cheap price for internet but connectivity intermittent and unreliable. And when cancelling, expect to be on the phone for some time as they try and try to get you to stay with them, giving excuse after excuse and then saying that there's an early termination fee that they're unable to waive. My recommendation, go with the providers that are most recognisable. They charge more but again, you get what you pay for.

Worst service from a service provider. They took my deposit, didnt deliver the phone that I had ordered and no one phones or emails to explain why. I then had to make 5 phone calls to find out what was happening on the 5th call I was told that they had tried to contact me, which was an absolute lie and i told them so. Cancelled my order there and then.

So Three UK think it's alright to offer you a refund one day and then say no sorry our guy was wrong the next day! Their customer care service is shocking, avoid like the plague... They also say they'll cancel your contract months ahead of time but they don't... You'll still need to go through a painstaking conversation with them a month before it should have cancelled :-/ not impressed

The experience with Three has been awful.
I share my experience hoping to avoid the same nightmare to others.
I decided to give a chance and test the mobile broadband. I tried for 13 days but the quality of the network was terrible. I decided therefore to cancel the contract within the 14 days and to return the router. (option allowed by the contract)
The customer service told that there was no problem.
However after few days I received an invoice for more than 28 pounds. (the contract was for 25 pounds per month but I cancelled after 13 days due to the terrible quality)
I called the customer service to complain and they told me that the invoice was not for the data but because they still didn't register the return of the router and that I should not worry about it.
Unfortunately someone from the company called me again twice, telling that the invoice was due because I used data for the 13 days.
I clearly stated that it was not logic at all and that despite I could almost not use the system due to the poor service, in the worst case scenario I should have only paid a pro-rata for the 13 days and not double of the amount.
I called back the customer service and they again confirmed me that the amount was not due, and that they were going to take care of it.
Despite of such assurance, I kept receiving calls from another number telling me that the invoice was due!
To be noted that the customer service was using very poor English, difficult to understand.
In summary I absolutely suspect that such practice is close to be illegal and aimed to make money from deceived customers.
In summary:
- the offer to try for 15 days if false!! You will be asked to pay double the amount;
- the service offered by the customer support is extremely poor from a language point of view, and from a content perspective.
- the coverage of the network is absolutely terrible in London and for this poor service Three is trying to charge double of the market price, even during the test period!!
- Avoid Three offers!!!

Dreadful home broadband !! Been very poor connection, then apparently ran out of data ?? This has never happened before.. It's just a scam to keep having to top up ! Wish i hadn't left Virgin now :-( Only 1 month into a contract with 3 and they say the only way of getting out of it is paying them over 400pound.. which i can't afford ? Am i really trapped... Can anyone help.... ??

Totally disgusted with Three. I took out a mobile contract in 2012, which was terminated after the contractual term had ended. Last month, out of the blue, I received a letter from Debt Collectors asking me for an outstanding balance of £31.00.
So, after four years, THREE decided that their only option was to send in Debt Collectors. If, at the termination of my contract, there was an outstanding balance why was it not collected by direct debit? Absolute joke! I asked Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd to provide an account statement showing Invoices and payments and all I have received is a letter confirming the date I took out the contract and the balance. Shocking - buyer beware!

Almost every call drops or at least glitches and I have to play hunt the signal before using my phone almost everytime, perching precariously on the edge of my bath tub and pointing my phone out the window is about the only way it will work, so I have to leave the phone there to act as a mobile hotspot and use my tablet for internet access, any time a taxi or a plane goes by it will lose signal and I have to go through the rigmarole of signal hunting and resetting through the airplane mode and turning the hotspot on again. If it would not be rewarding them financially for failing to deliver a reasonable service, I would buy my contract out and I Will have nothing from three mobile ever again, I'm even going to try to ban them from sending me adverts!

I took out a contract with 3 and couldnt make or receive calls in most of my daily locations. To cut a long story short. They lied to me. They cheated me and they robbed me. When i had finally heard enough falsehoods and broken promises, i stopped paying them and the sent debt collectors after me. Thankfully the debt agency investigated my dispute with 3 and cancelled my outstanding debt. I am grateful to them for this decision but ABSOLUTELY LOATHE 3 AND EVERYTHING THEY STAND FOR. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!

The worst provider i ever experienced.. Signal never works,I live in central London and Im never able to use my services, I constantly need to connect any Wi-Fi wether i am at home or outside.
Recently i gave Birth and when it was time for me to rush to the hospital I tried to make a call to reach my husband but the signal was so pooooor that i couldnt get hold of him. Thanks god i could call via whatsapp using the Wi-Fi from another provider ... very disappointed with that company I have to wait for my contract to end so I can stop this ****

Also when I asked for an extension as my bill came so high they wouldn’t allow me ... real rubbish !

Very poor customer service. I was phoning on behalf of my brother (had permission). I tried to buy a new phone literally giving them money and they messed up the details numerous times, passed me around to different people and left me hanging. I recently took out 12 month contract for 40g of data for £20.00 per.First month my son download some games on to his xbox and the data ran out within 2 days.Second month i allowed him to play on the xbox for 2 hours per day, within 3 days or 6 hours of playing on his xbox it had ran out again!.I contacted THREE, and the adviser told me it very easy to use this amount of data playing for that amount of time on a console like an xbox or ps4.I do not believe that a console like an xbox or ps4 uses that amount of data.I would not recommend THREE to anyone thinking of using THREE's mobile broadband should think long and hard.I will never use THREE again for anything.

I am extremely unhappy with Three. I specifically asked for a cap of £80 when I made my contract. This was confirmed over the phone and later on I received a notification that I was close to my limit. I therefore expected it to stay this way.
Months later, I now receive a notification saying that I am close to my limit, so I check and it is at £209. How can this be if I had a limit of £80?
I called them and they denied any responsibility. I asked them to please check the call or speak to the person who made the contract with me. They said their calls are not saved longer than 12 weeks and the cannot speak to the person who makes the contract. I then asked for a manager and was told that I cannot be put through further than to the complaints department.
I asked if there is anything they can do as this is not my fault and was told that they can't do anything and I should be able to manage my usage better.
I had relied on the cap I had requested, which obviously was forgotten and Three is denying to take any responsibility or try to meet in the middle.

I cannot login to their website and cannot use their app. They collect money through direct debit and so far I have not been able to see my billing info. Today I called their costumer service and she told me if I want to know the billing details of the number I am calling through I should hang up and she will call me back on it. I hung up and she never calls.
It is starting to feel like outright scam.

Been with Three for over 5 years, but today has been a very bad day for our relationship...

Staggering display of incompetence by Three today; called 333 to get SIM from from Son’s phone blocked as it was stolen. Called them from my mobile, yet customer services representative (CSR) asked if it was my number I wanted blocked. I’m pretty sure they can see the number being called from so obviously it’s not this number. However, benefit of doubt given and told CSR that no, not my number, but the Collins number and provided my Son’s phone number. CSR then asked if I wanted a replacement SIM for the one being blocked. I said yes as ultimately we will replace stolen phone. CSR ordered phone and told me I had to £5+ for new SIM. I reluctantly agreed. CSR then says that was all done, though we also blacklisted the stolen phone too via IMEI, which I read out. I thanks CSR and hang up.

10-15 mins pass and I realise I need to call a customer and dial number on my phone. Recorded message tells me I can’t call that number. Odd, I think.. I’ll try another number. Same recording plays. It then dawns on me what’s happened. CSR has somehow managed to block my SIM, despite me specifically giving them my Son’s phone number.

I call 333 again (from Wife’s phone) and speak to another CSR and explain situation. They can see that block has been made but advise they can’t reverse it, as a new SIM has already been registered and sent out. I’d will have to wait the 4-5 days for new SIM to arrive. Not acceptable to me, as my number is an advertised business number used by me regularly and by customers to call me. It’s also part of various security systems whereby texts are sent to allow me to login to systems and to inform me of any security breaches on my vehicle and other systems. I can’t wait 4-5 days. I head to Three store and explain situation and get a new SIM. in store CSR completes migration of number to new SIM and tells me it’ll be working in around 30 mins.

1 hour passes, still no service with new SIM installed, so I contact Three again. First via Twitter support account and then via Webchat, at their request. Spend over two hours waiting for Chat CSR to read details from account and investigate solution. Told again there is nothing they can do, as new SIM is activated to my number and that’s in the post.

So now I have no phone, no mobile internet and no means to resolve it for days. What’s worse is this isn’t the first time Three have made an error like this either. Last time, I tried to upgrade my Son’s plan, as he needed more data. Again, CSR managed to mix mine and my Son’s accounts and changed plan on my phone, which was actually a downgrade, as I was on a much higher call and data plan. Again told me I’d have to wait for it to be fixed. That time is was a whole month, as it needed to wait until the next billing cycle.

Why are CSR staff not able to resolve such issues? I can’t believe that no one at Three/Hutchinson Telecom could have resolved this. But no one seemed to what to try and now I am leaving and taking all three mobile phone accounts with me.

Terrible customer service, prices too high and no offers for me being an existing customer. their packages are for so little mobile data compared to everywhere else. I pay £10 for 15GB of data with BT on Monthly contract now. They want £10 for 500MB on monthly contract. What a rip off. Steer clear.

Travelling from usa for 3 weeks, decided to use a UK mobile while here.
Carp hone Warehouse suggested my3 mobile, so I paid £25 for a SIM for a month, and bought an LG Nexus to use, which was a big mistake in itself.
My3 network dropped Jan 2 overnight, customer support has been unreachable, the website slow and no help at all
Will be taking the phone and the SIM back to the shop where I purchased it, probably won't get my money back, but will spend many hours panning my3 mobile on as many websites as I can.

With Three Mobile, I am getting around 75 Mb/s download speed and 9 Mb/s upload speeds, in semi-rural West Yorkshire.

Reliability has generally been very good, and I now have an external (omni) antenna mounted on my roof (connect to my Huawei B593 router) so I expect reliability to be even better now.

Customer service is usually very good or excellent, with the odd exception. But I find they generally look after me very well.

Definitely recommended.

This technology has been over-hyped by slick advertising. Dongles are over-rated and unreliable. The network signal is poor even in urban areas. My dongle frequently fails to connect to the internet.
