I went into the Three store in Lewisham. Arrogant staff who were not very helpful and did not provide good information.

First day I have finally got the router and finally managed to get it activated useless instructions provided by the staff at three store and with in the product its self. I had to find a way to contact customer service and talk to a human and not get thrown around the houses to speak to the right person. Waste of time.

Router is now finally working, signal is rubbish even though it says my area should have a super strong signal.

I go on to the website to check coverage and I get this message: "We're really sorry. There's an issue with the network in your area at the moment.
We know that there's a problem with the service in your area and we're working on getting it fixed. Check back within 7 days for an update."

WHAT!? Not a good look, I've never been with Three before and was trying to look for an alternative to a crappy internet service currently provided by Sky over land line.

Thankfully I ordered online and have a 14 day returns period. Something to take note of if you order in store is that you don't get the 14 day return option so make sure you order online if you are going to try their home broadband so if it's rubbish like mine you can return. Will still trial it for the next 14 days and update if anything different from the above otherwise I will be returning everything.

Overall so far, waste of time and effort, not happy...

Awful company. 2 years ago I went to the three store in Bedford to do an upgrade. Unbeknownst to me I was also given a whole new contract despite only wanting an upgrade. For over a year I was charged for 2 contracts. As soon as I realised I was being double charged I stopped paying the direct debit that had no correlation to my phone bill. I started receiving letters for a number I've never had asking for money. After receiving a letter stating that the number had now been disconnected and the remaining balance would soon be sent to a debt collector, I paid the balance and considered the matter resolved. I have now received requests for more money. On contacting Three I have been told that they have no record of the disconnection/cancellation letter despite having records of the other letters and I am therefore liable for the £70 they want from me.

Avoid them. Utter cowboys.

Avoid this company at all costs. I cancelled my account in 2016 and moved to EE. They said my account was cancelled. Two years down the line we noticed that three were still taking monthly ditect debits from our account. We didn’t use the phone in two years and was charged £800!! When we initiated a complaint with customer service we ended up speaking to a helpdesk abroad. They said because we didn’t use the PAC code to transfer to EE, they started taking payments from us again. Mobile phone companies have changed their policy as of yesterday and they now have to inform you if they keep your account open. However three should be ashamed of themselves. An absolute shambles of a company...

Woefully inadequate customer service, clearly under trained, didn’t understand whether vat was included or not when asked, (three different members of staff), two months in succession spending an hour at a time to try to resolve, but “computer says no”. Avoid them if you could. If you get any problem you will end up speaking to different people telling them same story , and no one there to help you. They cancelled my contract without my approval and still have been taking money from my account.

I switched from Vodafone as I was lured in by the lower monthly cost and the roaming options. I now regret this hugely as I've had countless issues - data not working at all, extremely slow internet, texts not sending, unable to use virgin media wifi on the tube, phone number not properly transferred over etc. I then had to spend HOURS on live chats/ phone hepline ( the few times it worked) and received 0 help at all! Their customer service is a COMPLETE JOKE! No one calls back when they say they will and I was given the wrong advice MANY times which was a total waste of my time. Rather than help me, 3 customer service asked me the same questions OVER AND OVER again ( cause they clearly can't keep notes) and had to provide very sensitive information to prove my identity WAY TOO MANY TIMES! Customer Service at 3 refuses to be accountable for any faults 3 has and tries to claim there is no issue even when my data won't work at all in many areas. I had to have 8 lengthy, painful conversations to fix 1 problem because 3 refuses to listen. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! WORST SERVICE PROVIDER!! I have been with Vodafone, O2, Virgin and GiffGaff and they are all far better than this awful network.Even when I tried to lodge a formal complaint, no one contacted me. Their customer service and technical teams are ABSOLUTELY USELESS and TOTAL TIMEWASTERS!

This is a follow up review for the 3 HomeFi review I posted a few posts below on 10/5/19.

Our Internet cut out today and when I looked at My3 account I found we had supposedly exceeded our 100gb data allowance by over 4gb and incurred additional charges of £47.94 because of this. I called the billing and contracts team (again finding a working number for customer services was a mission as the one on the sim card didn't connect) and explained I should be on an unlimited plan. I was told that I was on a 100gb plan but if I wanted unlimited they would happily add this to my contract for £10 pm extra. So then we had a back and forth conversation of me explaining I already signed up for unlimited data and demanding my Internet connection be reinstated with the unlimited data I signed up for and the fraudulent charge of £47.94 removed from my bill immediately whilst the operator insisted this was not the case and kept offering me unltd data for £10 extra. Eventually he said if I have evidence I signed up for unlimited Data to email this to 3 and then call back. Fortunately I still had the order confirmation email in my inbox showing I had signed up for unlimited data.

Once I fwd this email to 3 I logged on to Web chat and demanded that now they have the proof to provide the service for which I signed up. This took a little while as they needed the email tracking ID I should have received as confirmation from the email I sent, but as I never received this I had to resend from an alternate address as apparently they are unable to look into this confirmation themselves despite me providing the order ref no that came with my original order.

The person on the webchat was brilliant once I provided the tracking ID and my Internet connection was soon up and running again and My3 account now showing unltd data with the £47.94 additional charge showing as credited to my account now.

The reason I was given for this happening was that the unltd data I signed up to was a Ltd time offer and the way the sell it is to sell a 100gb package with a free unlimited data add on and apparently the add on wasn't added to my contract when I signed up.

So I wanted to update my review because if it's happened to me it can happen to other people. So please make sure you check your My3 account regularly to make sure you getting what you signed up for. I didn't do this because I was on unltd data and although this caps out at 1tb I knew we'd go nowhere near this.

I've given 1 star for customer service because once I sent proof of my account and provided the tracking ID it was sorted immediately. However they don't get any further stars because obviously this shouldn't have happened in the first place and that they couldn't look at this on their system without me providing evidence of my order is very worrying as if I had not had this proof I'd be stuck with a 100gb data allowance rather than the unlimited one I'd signed up for

We used a 3 Mi-Fi hub while we were waiting for our permanent Internet to be installed. The signal is terrible it barely ever works but we still get huge additional charges every month as we have apparently gone over our 40gb data allowance even though it is only used about 3 days a month as it is so terrible. We asked for a cap to be put on the account so that when we hit 40gb we don't start getting charged per gb used but we still get massive charges. They've also made it really difficult to cancel. Would not recommend them.

This review is for the 3 HomeFi package on the Unlimited Data 24 month contract.

Been having ongoing issues with landline broadband for months. Despite trying 3 different providers, 4 different routers, both copper and FTTC connections (unfortuantly FTTP or Virgin lines aren't an option) I was only getting speeds of <1mb/s and constant connection droptouts yet my providers saying I was getting speeds of >40mb/s on their system. After Openreach engineers couldn't find any faults I decided to cut the landline and go 4g. Been with 3 HomeFi for about 2 weeks now and so far it's been the best decision I've made.

With this package you get a Huawei B311 router with a 3 SIM card inserted that when up and running works like any landline router. There are however some pros and cons to this packagage so I'll break my review down and highlight some of the pros/cons:

Hardware: As said the router is a Huawei B311. It's quite small so doesn't stand out like the monstrosities my previous 2 landline providers supplied. However it is quite lightweight and feels a little flimsy so I'm not sure about the lifespan of the hardware. That said though it looks pretty simple to buy a 4g router and just insert the SIM into that one if this ever breaks down. This is definetly a plus as although anyone on landline broadband can use a third party router it isn't always a simple task. With 4g broadband though it is a simple plug and play. Infact some might prefer to buy a router and data SIM seperatly (3 are currently offering a 12 month SIM only contract with unlimited data for £20 pm). The router is pretty basic compared to the ones supplied by landline providers though. It has a power and WPS switch and lights that show the stuatus of power, mobile network, ethernet, WiFi and mobile signal. However it only has one Ethernet port which was a bit of a let down intitially. Also 3 seem to have stripped down a couple of other features. It has a phone socket port so you should be able to connect a landline phone and make/recive calls via the SIM, but although the socket is present it has been disabled and I can't find a function in the router UI to activate it. There's a removable panel on the back of the router that reveals a SMA socket to attach an external antenna which can possibly boost mobile reception (and potentially download speeds too). However I get the impression by the size and shape of the removable panel and the fact that many 4g antenna are sold in pairs that there should be 2 SMA sockets and one seems to have been removed. But one absolute bonus to this router over a fixed landline is portability. All you need to get broadband up and running is electricity and a 3 signal so this router can be placed anywhere in a home (it may take a while to find the position with strongest signal though) and can even be taken on holiday (looking forward to not having to use hotel WiFi any more). Even though this router is a little basic there hasn't been a function it can't do that a landline router can't as you'll read below.

Software: As with any router you access the UI by typing the IP address into a web browser and it is very straight forward to navigate unlike some of the landline routers. It shows you the usual router settings that can be changed but also shows your current up/download speeds, number of devices connected, mobile signal and some other statuses. It also allows you to set data thresholds so you don't exceed any download limits. Additionaly you can download a UI app so you don't have to access it through the IP address and you can also set up a my3 account to keep track of data usage/spending and can download a my3 app too.

Connectivity: According to the manual you can connect up to 32 devices at a time and here's how I've found the different connection types. WiFi - The Wifi works like any other router by searcing for the connection on your device and entering the password. The range of the WiFi is brilliant, I can get a better connection 2 rooms away than I could from my landline router (back when I had working broadband that is). But this router only offers a 2.4ghz WiFi connection which can be very congeseted (not just by users connecting through your router but by other nearby routers) and doesn't have a 5ghz WiFi connection which pretty much comes as standard with fibre routers these days. Ethernet - As said this router only has 1 Ethernet port which initially was a bit of a disapointment. However it's ended up being something of a bonus. I repurposed an old landline router to work as a network switch and placed it behind my TV so I have the Ethernet cable from the router going to this switch. I then have 3 cables going from the switch to 2 games consoles and a Roku box so with the switch being conveniently hidden the 1 cable leading from the router doesn't look as untidy. WPS - This is the only connection type tht has been a headache. According to the manual to set up a WPS connection you just hold down the WPS button for 2secs until the WiFi light on the router starts to flash. However no ammount of pushing could get this light to flash. So setting up my WiFi printer was a bit of a mission. The printer was unable to find the network by pushing the WPS button or enabling WPS in the router UI. I was able to find the printer using the network settings on a laptop but it was unable to connect. In the end I had to delete the printer drivers from the laptop, reinstall and set up a WiFi connection by connecting the printer to the laptop using a USB cable and then enabling WPS through the router UI. But now it's set up it's working fine. SMA - As said there's a SMA connection that can be used to connect an external antenna to boost mobile reception. I haven't used this yet but do plan on buying an antenna to see if it boosts signal/speeds. You could also by an SMA cable so the antenna can be installed in the place of the strongest signal yet the router placed near the devices it needs to conenct to. Phone - It is somehting of a let down that the phone socket on the router has been disabled as although I rarely use a landline it was always nice to know it's there as a back up.

Speeds/Signal: One downside to mobile broadband is you don't get the minimum guaranteed download speeds that many landline providers offer. Although the router can in theory provide download speeds of upto 150mb/s you are never going to get anywhere near this and you will find that the speeds fluctuate rapidly. I have had download speeds in the range of 2mb/s with only 1 device connected via Ethernet but have also had speeds >20mb/s on a device connected by WiFi 2 rooms away with multiple devices connected at the same time. The reason the speeds can be so inconsistent is there are more variables to consider than through a landline connection. Signal strength and proximity to mast, router location, network congestion and even the weather play their part as well as the usual variables such as router channel and other other interferances you get with a landline router. It's for this reason that I've only scored 3 for speeds. However the upload speeds and ping rates always seem pretty stable. The uploads are consistently in their teens and the ping rates are usually holding in the 50's which is very respectable. Despite the varying download speeds it hasn't been an issue with using the data and I've had only one dropout in connection in the 2 weeks which is why I've scored 5 for reliability. With the router fresh out of the box I wanted to see how far I could push the connection so I had a Roku box streaming a film 2 rooms away, another streaming live TV 2 rooms away, a tablet streaming YouTube 2 rooms away and a mobile and a laptop browsing the net all while my son played Fortnite on the Xbox in the same room as the router. There was absolutly no buffering and crystal clear picture quality on the devices that were straeming and only a very slight lag on the Xbox which was fine because I'm never going to be transferring this much data on this many devices normally. The only time the inconsistent speeds have been an issue was when my son was downloading a 12gb game on the Xbox, it took hours and the display on the screen showing live download speeds showed you just how varied they can be with them jumping between 15mb/s and <1mb/s quite rapidly. This is the only time I've had a connection dropout as I tried to stream on a Roku box at the same time as this download and the router just couldn't handle it. So downloading large amounts of data is an issue but the speeds are fine for streaming and online gaming. The mobile signal the router recives will play a big part in the speeds you're getting as throetically the stronger the signal the higher the speeds. So the location of the router is imperative and ideally close to a window to pick up the signal easier from a mast. I checked the 3 signal for my address both on their website and the Ofcom website before purchasing and this is something I strongly advise as like I've said there are no guarantees for speed. You can also download apps that can show where the signal is strongest around you and like I've said there's also the option of installing an antenna (even outside and connecting to the router via cable) to get the optimal mobile signal. I'd also recomend keeping an eye on the signal strength in UI as the light on the router shows the strength by 3 bars and my signal has never dropped below 3. However the strength is shown using 5 bars on the UI and this was showing between 3-4 bars when I first set the router up despite the light showing full signal. I've now got the router in a positon where it's showing full signal on both the UI and the router.

Customer Service: I've scored quite low in this area as I have concerns about the customer service 3 provide if I ever needed it. Being mobile broadband this type of contract doesn't come with the guarantees that an equivilant fibre broadband contract comes with. As said there are no guaranteed minimum speeds. Also my last two providers offered 60 and 30 day guarantees that allowed me to leave the contract within this time without any early exit fees if I wasn't happy with the connection and both these guarantees were worth their weight in gold with the issues I'd been having. With HomeFi though there is no such guarantee. However you can return the equipment within 14 days providing it's unused and the small print even goes on to say that they will still consider the device unused if you've switched it on to make sure it works but haven't yet started using it fully. However it's important to note that this returns period is only granted for online/phone sales and if you were to buy the device/contract in a 3 shop you wouldn't get this guarantee. The contract with 3 also states that you only enter the contract once you insert the SIM into the device and it activates. So with this in mind I ordered a free PAYG SIM and loaded it with 2gb data @£10 so that I could check the router worked, could pick up signal and connect to my devices. I figured that doing this would be considered turning it on and checking it worked but if 3 disagreed and I wanted to exit the contract I would be able to as I hadn't actually gone live with my contract yet so would only liable for the cost of the router. I did need to contact customer services whilst setting up the router and it's because of this they've scored low in this area at the moment. When I put the PAYG SIM in it activated and picked up signal wihtin 5mins. But when I put the contract SIM in there was still no signal after an hour so I called 3 customer services. This ended up being a bit of an issue as the number that was printed on the SIM packaging was not recognised and finding a number for 3 customer services online was a bit of a mission. Once I did find a number that worked I was on hold for ages, when the call was finally answered the operator told me that as it's a broadband device she'd need to transfer me to the broadband team as she's in the mobile phone team, fair enough but I was then on hold for ages again. When I was finally put through I was told I'd need to speak to the faults team and yep you guessed it... back on hold. Whilst I was waiting for this call to be answered though the router finally picked up signal so I just hung up. It was obviously just the case that it took a bit longer for the contract SIM to activate than the PAYG one. So although it wasn't a major issue on this occasion I can see myself being given the runaround if I ever need to contact customer services in the future.

Summary: This router and contract has been a lifesaver after the issues with landline broadband that I've been having and at £22 pm it's comparable to a basic fibre broadband cost. However if you can get a decent fibre connection this isn't likely to be a viable alternative as the cost for fibre broadband also includes line rental so you can use a homephone which like I've said has been disabled on this router. There's also the fact that if you can get a decent fibre conection you'll likely have far higher and more stable speeds. But for someone in my position the speeds I'm now getting are a lot better and more stable than on my shoddy Openreach line. And the portability of this router is a massive bonus that makes up for some of the downsides this router has compared to a landline one. There are a lot of variables you might want to consider before entering into a contract of this length, not least the strength of the 3 signal in your area. If you don't want to enter into a lengthy contract though there are other options with shorter contracts. However these come with data caps, can be more expensive p/m and may also require a partial or full payment of the router. With this contract being £22 pm including the router yet a SIM only plan being £20 pm this does seem to be one of the few mobile plans that include the device for free rather than adding the cost onto the contract price. This is considering that although you'll be paying £2 pm less on the SIM only plan you'll need to buy a router yourself and the starting price of a 4g router on Amazon at present is £69.99 (TP-Link - reduced from £99.99 so it could go up again). That said the 4g routers on Amazon come with more features than this one such as extra Ethernet ports, a working phone socket and 5ghz WiFi signal as well as the 2.4ghz. So it could be worth the extra cost in buying the SIM and the router seperatly just due to the added features. For me though despite the basicness of this router I have been very impressed with how well it compares to a fibre router.

Applied for a handset was refused then bombarded by the sales team. They promised me a handset after 3 months of taking out an over priced sim card and paying on time every month. I did this when the time came they again refused the handset. When i rang to complain and asked them to listen to the calls they refused and also refused to refund my 3 months money only the last bill. Not budging at all and happy to rip off single mothers should be ashamed of yourselves. I will be taking this further, its not about the £ 48 you ripped me off with its the point that a company as big as yours shouldbt be allowed to rip off innocent people with bad credit. I will be leaving reviews where ever possible.. stay clear people ! £16 for a sim card with barely any GB few texts and minutes your so expensive the only way you can get customers is by lying and mis leading people disgusting you shove your offer of a waiver of £10 when the sun dont shine ill be posting on FB and insta and where ever possible!

Very bad experience with Three Mobile. They make you buy a second SIM with a plan, when you buy a phone with them, so you end up paying your device, your normal package plan + another Plan for a SIM. Basically, it's their policy, so prepare yourself to pay! After two years paying my number and another SIM with a basic tariff, that I have never used, they make me cancel this other SIM plan (after the contract expired after these two years) and make me pay another £30 pounds, only to close this SIM, which, of course, I never used.

I went into the Three shop in Highcross, Leicester, with queries and problems that I had with my new phone. The two staff who helped me were outstanding; with so much knowledge and such a wish to help. They sorted everything, and it wasn't a quick fix, taking 2 minutes, but they had patience. So, thank you to Three. I would not hesitate to use them again.

It took 20 minutes on the phone with customer service, that as the phone provider, they are the only ones who can give me an “unlock code”. Phones issued after 2014 don’t need one, but my phone was issued 2012. Why wasn’t that the first question they ask? Instead I have to argue for 20 minutes that I do need an unlock code, even the phone screen is asking for a lock code. The people at the call centre in India, talk over you and do not let you finish your sentences. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH

The worse company I have ever come across. All what they care about is your money. No consideration for customers. The automated system is been set in a way that if you want to cancel the service you would not get through.
I have been paying for 16 months for service I have not used and they admit that and there is no willingness out of good gesture for repaying my money back or even part of it.
I strongly advice everyone not to take any contract with three is just a ripoff, disgusting awful company.
I would just give ZERO, ZERO for all the ratings. And a copy of this letter with the details of my experience with three is been passed on to watch dog and trading standard agency.

I have been with Three for over a year now and have been very happy with them. I was previously with O2 and my bills varied from month to month - lots of small charges for things. But since moving to Three my bill each month has been exactly as promised.

The transfer was smooth and any support issues I have raised have been dealt with efficiently. And network coverage seems pretty good to me too. So, all in all I would recommend Three.

I took out a contract, received a confirmation email stating my delivery date (today) taken a day off work, waited in all day, called Three to see what was happening just to be told that they had cancelled my application. No email, text or phone call to tell me this was happening and there is no way of me finding out exactly why. They just said it's must likely that I had put an incorrect detail on the application. Why they couldn't have just contacted me to ask for that detail I don't know. They managed to take my upfront payment out of my bank account but couldn't manage to email me to say my application had been cancelled! Not happy at all. I've never been with three before and after today and reading some of the other reviews, it looks like I've had a lucky escape!

Be warned Three Mobile are allowing third party companies to commit fraud in my eyes and this is why. Three mobile suddenly took out an extra £27.52 out of my account on my bill, I was soon on the phone to see what is going on. They say that another company called Tap2Bill has charged me through my mobile for a service that I have taken out, I know nothing about this at all and told them that this is wrong and obviously fraudulent. They answer telling me that I need to cancel this subscription that I know nothing about and continue after several calls to say this. They tried on one point to do a conference call with this company and was not successful as the phone kept going dead, after a lot of angry words and calls they refunded me this amount but say they should not do this. I ended my two phones with them and now they are saying I owe more charges from this imaginary subscription hence why I am going to advertise this as much as possible because everyone needs to know that this can happen to anyone and if you look online there is hundreds of people having the same problems and getting charged for it and not getting their money back. We as customers are not told from the start about any third party companies that can charge us via our Three mobile. Also be aware that the regulators are aware of these problems yet do not seem to do anything and just say it is between our self and Three. I have now joined BT who on email have stated there will be no extra charges as they do not allow this to happen and have capped all phones to zero so we get no surprise charges (Well done to BT) Be aware people and will update on further communications with Three mobile, a company that in our eyes allows third party companies to defraud their customers and just do not seem to care. Please look out for lots of other reviews and publications and pass on to friends and family of how they do business and how they can do the same to anybody.

I don't get any service from three since I don't have any signal on my phone. Can't make any calls, can't text, can't use data either. Just have red no signal thing all the time. Have now idea what I am paying for! Tried to go to a local three store- useless. Report network issues almost daily- never heard anything back from them! Not sure how they legally exist for taking money and not providing any services. What a scheme! Three Sucks!!!

Unbelievably bad customer service. Spoke to over 10 different people over the phone to try activate my account but no one could tell me the same answer. My account was lost, apparently i didn't exist and my postcode was registered to another person. Tried to cancel but I have to wait 72 hours for the account to be activated. I will believe it when I see it. Not holding much luck with these guys. Should have gone with Sky.

Terrible customer service.
Terrible customer service. Twice now Three has taken the money from my account to early. I changed the date to the 1st of every month and they have continued to take it later. Spoke to an adviser that assured me it will be taken on the 1st next month and again its been taken to early causing me to go over drawn twice and be charge by my bank. When I called Three there solution was to have me call my bank to cancel the diret debt and pay manually from now on (Which I bet there is an extra charge on).

Awful service for there mistake as I've effectively been lied to by an adviser who assured me the details have been changed and now I'm being charged extra AGAIN due to there incompetence or lying just to get rid of me quickly. Once my contract is up I will be leaving Three and I'll tell anyone not to go with this network.

I had previously been a loyal customer of three; I left them once before (on good terms) only because I found a better deal. So based on my previous good experience of Three I had no hesitation in returning to them. Sadly second time around and the service is dire. I started having problems with my mobile phone (iPhone) very early on in the contract, phone kept freezing and calls kept dropping, texts sending multiple times even though an alert popped up stating message failed to send. I phoned Three Customer Services several times on this issue within the first 12 months; each time they fobbed me off telling me I need to do a factory reset, reboot or install new software. Despite all of this the problems did not go away. My phone contract is now 1yr and 39 days which means that my 1 yr Apple warranty has lapsed but I am still within my 2 year warranty with Three (as I found out today). To rectify the issues which as mentioned have been on-going for the past year; three are now telling me that I need to take my phone to Apple and pay the £300 to have it repaired and only then will they re-imburse me under warranty if the fault is not down to damage. Yet had they dealt with the issue correctly when I first reported it my phone could have been repaired without me incurring any up front costs. My dealings with Three since returning to them has shown Three to be incompetent with poor knowledge, bad record keeping and dire customer care (each phone call taking around an hour of my time). I would not recommend Three to anyone and I will be leaving them never to return as as soon as my contract permits.

The worst network in the UK and their customer service is waste of time as they made me stay on call for 30 minutes; transfered from one department to another as I'm trying to get PAC Code to transfer my number over to another network but they told me to call back tomorrow so they would give me PAC code, apparently generating this code is rocket science according to three.

you go cheap and you pay the price. Three are cheap for a reason but there's always someone who will bite. I was one of them. Cheap price for internet but connectivity intermittent and unreliable. And when cancelling, expect to be on the phone for some time as they try and try to get you to stay with them, giving excuse after excuse and then saying that there's an early termination fee that they're unable to waive. My recommendation, go with the providers that are most recognisable. They charge more but again, you get what you pay for.

So Three UK think it's alright to offer you a refund one day and then say no sorry our guy was wrong the next day! Their customer care service is shocking, avoid like the plague... They also say they'll cancel your contract months ahead of time but they don't... You'll still need to go through a painstaking conversation with them a month before it should have cancelled :-/ not impressed

DERBY Three Mobile
The experience with Three has been awful.
I share my experience hoping to avoid the same nightmare to others.
I decided to give a chance and test the mobile broadband. I tried for 13 days but the quality of the network was terrible. I decided therefore to cancel the contract within the 14 days and to return the router. (option allowed by the contract)
The customer service told that there was no problem.
However after few days I received an invoice for more than 28 pounds. (the contract was for 25 pounds per month but I cancelled after 13 days due to the terrible quality)
I called the customer service to complain and they told me that the invoice was not for the data but because they still didn't register the return of the router and that I should not worry about it.
Unfortunately someone from the company called me again twice, telling that the invoice was due because I used data for the 13 days.
I clearly stated that it was not logic at all and that despite I could almost not use the system due to the poor service, in the worst case scenario I should have only paid a pro-rata for the 13 days and not double of the amount.
I called back the customer service and they again confirmed me that the amount was not due, and that they were going to take care of it.
Despite of such assurance, I kept receiving calls from another number telling me that the invoice was due!
To be noted that the customer service was using very poor English, difficult to understand.
In summary I absolutely suspect that such practice is close to be illegal and aimed to make money from deceived customers.
In summary:
- the offer to try for 15 days if false!! You will be asked to pay double the amount;
- the service offered by the customer support is extremely poor from a language point of view, and from a content perspective.
- the coverage of the network is absolutely terrible in London and for this poor service Three is trying to charge double of the market price, even during the test period!!
- Avoid Three offers!!!

Totally disgusted with Three. I took out a mobile contract in 2012, which was terminated after the contractual term had ended. Last month, out of the blue, I received a letter from Debt Collectors asking me for an outstanding balance of £31.00.
So, after four years, THREE decided that their only option was to send in Debt Collectors. If, at the termination of my contract, there was an outstanding balance why was it not collected by direct debit? Absolute joke! I asked Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd to provide an account statement showing Invoices and payments and all I have received is a letter confirming the date I took out the contract and the balance. Shocking - buyer beware!

Almost every call drops or at least glitches and I have to play hunt the signal before using my phone almost everytime, perching precariously on the edge of my bath tub and pointing my phone out the window is about the only way it will work, so I have to leave the phone there to act as a mobile hotspot and use my tablet for internet access, any time a taxi or a plane goes by it will lose signal and I have to go through the rigmarole of signal hunting and resetting through the airplane mode and turning the hotspot on again. If it would not be rewarding them financially for failing to deliver a reasonable service, I would buy my contract out and I Will have nothing from three mobile ever again, I'm even going to try to ban them from sending me adverts!

I took out a contract with 3 and couldnt make or receive calls in most of my daily locations. To cut a long story short. They lied to me. They cheated me and they robbed me. When i had finally heard enough falsehoods and broken promises, i stopped paying them and the sent debt collectors after me. Thankfully the debt agency investigated my dispute with 3 and cancelled my outstanding debt. I am grateful to them for this decision but ABSOLUTELY LOATHE 3 AND EVERYTHING THEY STAND FOR. I am extremely unhappy with Three. I specifically asked for a cap of £80 when I made my contract. This was confirmed over the phone and later on I received a notification that I was close to my limit. I therefore expected it to stay this way.
Months later, I now receive a notification saying that I am close to my limit, so I check and it is at £209. How can this be if I had a limit of £80?
I called them and they denied any responsibility. I asked them to please check the call or speak to the person who made the contract with me. They said their calls are not saved longer than 12 weeks and the cannot speak to the person who makes the contract. I then asked for a manager and was told that I cannot be put through further than to the complaints department.
I asked if there is anything they can do as this is not my fault and was told that they can't do anything and I should be able to manage my usage better.
I had relied on the cap I had requested, which obviously was forgotten and Three is denying to take any responsibility or try to meet in the middle.

This is the worst service I have ever received

Been with Three for over 5 years, but today has been a very bad day for our relationship...

Staggering display of incompetence by Three today; called 333 to get SIM from from Son’s phone blocked as it was stolen. Called them from my mobile, yet customer services representative (CSR) asked if it was my number I wanted blocked. I’m pretty sure they can see the number being called from so obviously it’s not this number. However, benefit of doubt given and told CSR that no, not my number, but the Collins number and provided my Son’s phone number. CSR then asked if I wanted a replacement SIM for the one being blocked. I said yes as ultimately we will replace stolen phone. CSR ordered phone and told me I had to £5+ for new SIM. I reluctantly agreed. CSR then says that was all done, though we also blacklisted the stolen phone too via IMEI, which I read out. I thanks CSR and hang up.

10-15 mins pass and I realise I need to call a customer and dial number on my phone. Recorded message tells me I can’t call that number. Odd, I think.. I’ll try another number. Same recording plays. It then dawns on me what’s happened. CSR has somehow managed to block my SIM, despite me specifically giving them my Son’s phone number.

I call 333 again (from Wife’s phone) and speak to another CSR and explain situation. They can see that block has been made but advise they can’t reverse it, as a new SIM has already been registered and sent out. I’d will have to wait the 4-5 days for new SIM to arrive. Not acceptable to me, as my number is an advertised business number used by me regularly and by customers to call me. It’s also part of various security systems whereby texts are sent to allow me to login to systems and to inform me of any security breaches on my vehicle and other systems. I can’t wait 4-5 days. I head to Three store and explain situation and get a new SIM. in store CSR completes migration of number to new SIM and tells me it’ll be working in around 30 mins.

1 hour passes, still no service with new SIM installed, so I contact Three again. First via Twitter support account and then via Webchat, at their request. Spend over two hours waiting for Chat CSR to read details from account and investigate solution. Told again there is nothing they can do, as new SIM is activated to my number and that’s in the post.

So now I have no phone, no mobile internet and no means to resolve it for days. What’s worse is this isn’t the first time Three have made an error like this either. Last time, I tried to upgrade my Son’s plan, as he needed more data. Again, CSR managed to mix mine and my Son’s accounts and changed plan on my phone, which was actually a downgrade, as I was on a much higher call and data plan. Again told me I’d have to wait for it to be fixed. That time is was a whole month, as it needed to wait until the next billing cycle.

Why are CSR staff not able to resolve such issues? I can’t believe that no one at Three/Hutchinson Telecom could have resolved this. But no one seemed to what to try and now I am leaving and taking all three mobile phone accounts with me.

“When stuff sucks... #makeitright”. Yeah, right!

Travelling from usa for 3 weeks, decided to use a UK mobile while here.
Carp hone Warehouse suggested my3 mobile, so I paid £25 for a SIM for a month, and bought an LG Nexus to use, which was a big mistake in itself.
My3 network dropped Jan 2 overnight, customer support has been unreachable, the website slow and no help at all
Will be taking the phone and the SIM back to the shop where I purchased it, probably won't get my money back, but will spend many hours panning my3 mobile on as many websites as I can.

With Three Mobile, I am getting around 75 Mb/s download speed and 9 Mb/s upload speeds, in semi-rural West Yorkshire.

Reliability has generally been very good, and I now have an external (omni) antenna mounted on my roof (connect to my Huawei B593 router) so I expect reliability to be even better now.

Customer service is usually very good or excellent, with the odd exception. But I find they generally look after me very well.

Definitely recommended.

The customer service line is obsoliutly useless, to say the least!! I am not a demanding or picky person myself. However, this was just unbelievable! I was staying on the line for over 2 hours on Monday evening and for over an hour on Tuesday morning. The staff had a very poor knowledge, kept me on hold or transfering me all over the departments and eventually made me cry and spoiled my day. While, all I wanted was to keep my old phone number. I was not even switching providers! I just changed the contract, got the new sim card and therefore kindly asked to keep my old number. Until some gentelment under the name Sunny has assisted me in the best possible way, dealing with a Three customer service was the biggest nightmre and a waste of time!!

I have ordered a pay as you go card online, without any adds on and credit that does not expire. Here is what happened next:
1. They do not send an email order confirmation (I have asked customer support about it and he told me you need to go somewhere an choose an option to get a confirmation).
2. I received a wrong card, that expires in 30 days
3. When I phoned customer service I was told that:
- I can't return an unopened card, apparently the normal consumer rights do not apply
- I can't prove that I ordered a different card (no, I can't as I have not received a confirmation) hence I can't take legal action without a proof - I haven't mentioned legal action, he did, evidently the company does everything to make sure that there is no proof.
- Before I phoned, I was looking at the page of the card I bought, 2 min after my call, when I refreshed the browser, my card was gone.

Very unethical company.

I explained that I needed to attend to my crying baby and asked that they quickly confirm if my account has actually been cancelled as I requested previous weeks ago. They make it very hard for you to cancel and then they tell you that you need to pay outstanding balance before they will cancel your account even though you no longer use the services or are even able to use the service. Really bad. Would not recommend and would not use again.

Stay away from Three and never take their contracts. They're the worst provider, but ThreeUK don't care. Because it was "all you can eat data" (a lie) we had three years of bad reception, slow and throttled internet and continual price rises. Even worse than TalkTalk and they're useless, rude call centres.

crap . very bad experience with three. don't sign with them!!! costumers service is based in India, you can't even understand them. after 3 days of internet, they cut me off saying I used too much data which is untrue as it was a 40 Giga contract (which is usable for 32 people) and the bill was outrageous. I always have been under usage with my former providers. i called the customer service a thousand times and they tried to bribe me into giving me Giga.i had enough allowance left, they tried to steal money but saying i run out of it. Shame on three! DON'T sign with them, they are thieves!

I use my 3 phone as my work phone on a day to day basis and run by own business. There has been very poor signal at my place of work for 8 weeks now, numerous client calls have cut out half way through and I have lost significant amounts of business. Despite 3 saying this will not be sorted for some time they are unwilling to allow me to terminate my contract without paying a huge early termination charge. In my view they have breached my contract by no longer providing a working network. I originally signed up with 3 because I was told they had good coverage in my work place, this is no longer the case and they will not let me leave. I have spent hours on the phone to them with no success.

An absolute JOKE of a company!

Where do I start? The only reason I have to use this shower of fools is purely for work purposes.

I ring to top up the broadband and am ALWAYS in a queue. It's impossible to top up on line. They even have a dedicated line for the fact that you simply CAN'T ever top up on line thus incurring overinflated call charges!

You finally get to speak to someone who tries to keep you on line for even longer by trying to pass the time of day!!

After an age you are told that it's all been completed and to simply unplug and replug the dongle and hey presto!

NOOOO ! not the case - guess what? It does NOT get connected so you have to call back AGAIN and go through the whole procedure AGAIN.

I've got wise to this so today I'd gone through this whole frustrating sage and got put through to the 'technical dept' once AGAIN............

.............

Here we go...The 'tech' was telling me how to plug and unplug the dongle - yes been going that for an hour! Next he asks me to take out sim and do a few other stupid things. At this point I asked if I was on the Ant and Dec show. My sarcasm was wasted on him but never mind!

I didn't do any of the things he said but I pretended to. Guess what after another FIVE minutes of stupid instructions the internet came on!!!! I hadn't actually done anything!!!!!!!!!!!

He couldn't believe I'd DARED to not follow his instructions!! lol

They obviously get people to keep calling and waiting until they decide to simply connect you!

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE CON
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bought a new 24mth contract from THREE which came with a samsung mobile phone. Three months later the phone just became unusable, not least due to the garbage bloatware THREE preinstall, most of which I had uninstalled. It still left little imovable scabs, one was every time I touch the fone asking if I want to install THREE apps etc - Then the horror story really begins. THREE customer service just happened to mention fone warranty was ONE year, not the two years I signed up to. They also tried to get samsung to deal with the problem, giving me the runaround. I said my contract is with THREE YOU sort it out. Said they would send a new phone. never did. Made an official complaint and every step was blocked by them misusing the data protection act and claiming they cannot talk to me via email unless I give security details, despite the case already being open. So it was ok for me to send sensitive data but not for them. It then just became farcical and I gave up. They then advised I couldnt even complain to the ombudsman!!! A big fat lie. The network service itself was 2nd rate too. Many black spots and 3 and 4g unusable often. The company is a joke.

I have been with almost every phone provider and Three is by far the worst I had to cancel the contract within the colling off period. Three market an International sim so you can use calls, texts and data abroad. Nowhere on the website does it mention this actually only lasts for 2/3/4 (they still can't give a definite answer) until you are charged premium rates for using your phone abroad. I cancelled and have reported to ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) In addition to get my PAC code took my 10 days of constant calling (average hold time 45 minutes) to be put through to Mubai and to be told no comprende on most issues. A manager was due to call me back on 4 occasions during this time. They are so unhelpful. I really can't believe their service. Vodafone however text me my PAC code after leaving and their wait time is merely 5 minutes. I think i'l rejoin. DO NOT go with Three. They are an absolute Joke. also when you go into store they ask to scan your passport before giving you a sim card. I find this highly unnecessary (I mean it's not US border control And since three recently suffered a hack I think its a consumers right to be more careful as to where their unnecessary details are held.

I've been a Three mobile customer for 4 years and for 3 years I used to have unlimited data, this year I went to the shop and the guy told me to change it for 17 G instead keeping the unlimited contract. That's fine! It's cheaper and my average is 12G per month. However since there it becames a nightmare!!! EXTREMELY SLOW internet, internet goes out all the time... so annoying! Another thing on the day that i changed my contract they told me buy this and that and we will give you a £150 voucher for amazon. I was happy with that. £150 voucher who does't like it?? however when i checked it online they say the voucher will be redeemed after first payment (no problem) and then amazon could take 2 to 3 month to send the voucher...this was in August 2016 5 months passed and nothing!!! I wrote a complain to three and they ignored me!!! Very disappointed!!! I pay every month £55 for an useless service!!!!! Can't wait for next August to finish my contract.

I got a 300 minutes + 3000 texts + 12GB data to which cost me GBP20.

My problem are :
1. There are too much slower of data connection
2. There are too ofter 'disconnect' issue during surfing online
3. There are too much often 'NO SERVICE'.

It's not good to complaint, besides its not type of people who like to do so but all I can say here is.. I made a mistake when I thought that UK has its all the most highly quality both of services and performance. It's so embarrassing when I realise that is just wast't true at all

This is would be the first, and the last I'd use this ISP.
The most worst ISP that I would not recommended it to other service user.

Never have I experienced such appalling customer service, misinformation and zero value for loyal customers. As a whole Three is one of the worst broadband networks out there. They overcharge extensively even though they reassure you the data usage is capped and do not notify when this changes. Resulting in paying hundreds of pounds extra from what you expected to pay. Putting customers at a loss at their gain. If you're thinking of joining 3 and do in the future incure a problem please expect: long telephone calls, repeating yourself to multiple call handlers, with the end result being a waste of your time and money. Completely unprofessional.

I wish there were 0 stars but unfortunately, I can rate minimum 1 star. I used this operator from January, and I am from overseas, when I asked them if I will or will not pay for when I am not here they said there will be no problem, you will be paying pay as you go, but then gave me monthly, so I had to pay all year even the 4 months which I was not in the UK. When I told them that they said it is not their problem, I have to go to the store where I bought it. Afterwards, this month they did not give me my new bill, so my usage this month added up to last month bill, so I had pay 30 pounds extra. Anyways, maybe it is cheap but the worst customer service and telephone operator I have ever seen.

I decided to join three mobile and get a contract SIM. Worst thing I could have possibly done. The first 6 months was meant to be half price. £11.50! But, they charged me that PLUS the full amount. They admitted to charging me too much and would not refund me. So, therefore, I cancelled the contract SIM. They are now threatening me with an outstanding balance of £213!! For cancelling. Threatening to take me to court etc. Keep sending letters, emails, you name it. I don't believe I should pay this money as my actual mobile did not come from three it was just the SIM card and they are expecting me to pay this for their mistake. Just don't go with three it's the worst and they do this to everyone and the signal with them are rubbish anyway I'd recommend going with something like virgin network rather than three.

I had contract with 3 uk for last 10 months was slow i rang up soo many times to solve this issue however, it was always ended up "making so many excuse and not taking it seriously so i got feed up from keep calling at them!
At the end up 10th month i got £40 extra charge than normal i rang up the excuse was that i have used extra data even though from beginning i was allowed to use (all you can eat data) so i remind the person i was on the phone to he sayed sorry we won't charge you extra anymore and will not going to charge you for next month payment so i waited one more month on the start of next month again this happened i have been charged even 50 extra this time so i have cancelled the contract! Unfortunately i ended up with losing over 100 pounds and 50 for the cancellation policy. This is how they treating their customers! I have made a complaint for refund but nothing has been done since last month. Please please reconsider if you getting pay as you go or contract with 3 as i swear to god you will regret it. As all they want is ur money bland not giving you anything back!

I'm so sick of them, leaving after being a long time customer.

They refuse to help me, and I've had numerous emails with rude and arrogant staff. They've doubled their prices on some contracts, and I'm not prepared to pay it.

Clearly Three don't give a damn about their customers, and people seem to be leaving like rats off a sinking ship. Personally I'm glad to be rid of them, and don't recommend them to anyone at all.

Some advice for people who are looking to get something sorted with a problem with Three.
1 - Download a free app that records your telephone conversations.
2 - Prior to going to the Ombudsman, pay the £10.00 fee to Three and get all your calls/correspondence re your problem via Freedom of Information.
I had reason to contact Three over a phone problem. I think it is fair to say I was misled and lied to over the two months it took to sort my complaint.

Poor security meaning that my account was hacked- this was eventually rectified after a painstakingly slow and complicated process of getting passed from pillar to post within a disorganised team which appeared to have no internal communication or common sense. The customer service team are very polite, but from my experience of phone calls with them they are not helpful as often quite poorly informed of the information I require and unless you go through to the cancellation team it takes a very long time to get through to anyone. Also infuriatingly slow to get call backs on issues I have had with more recently with their service and still having to chase them. Needless to say that after about 8 years with them I am now actively looking to move!

I regret signing up with 3 mobile. They emphasize that they offer "unlimited broadband" - but what is the point when it is so slow you just give up attempting to use it? I swapped a 3-Mobile SIM for an O2 sim and the time to load the same page on a website went from 17 minutes to 3 seconds. Only use 3-Mobile if you want usable connectivity before 2pm in the day.

I have an “All you can eat Unlimited data” contract with Three. Everything was going fantastic for a few months. My downloads and my streaming speed was great and so was my Internet speed.
About 3 months ago I noticed that my signal wasn’t so good anymore and that the speed of my downloads was really bad.
Don’t waste your time calling them because they’ll try to make you think that your SIM card is faulty or that your handset is faulty or any other thing they can distract you with to avoid to tell you that they are throttling/restricting your downloads.
When I connect to the WiFi everything works wonderful, so my SIM and my Handset cannot be faulty.
I called them and asked them if they were restricting my downloads and they assured me 10 times that they weren’t do anything like that, that they don’t restrict anything. So I asked them to send me an email confirming the statement they just made 10 times and they were so certain of. The answer to this of course was that they don’t send emails and that I can find that information in their website. So I asked them to direct me exactly to where in their website they mention this piece if information. After being reluctant to that and then made me wait for 15 more minutes on the line, they told me that they do have restrictions but just in peak hours. They have just lied to me, repeatedly. I was so furious that they treat the costumers like we are stupid. I used to have a service I don’t have any more. A service I’m paying for and you are supposed to provide.
So now, I asked them to direct me exactly to where you can find that information in their website and what I could read in this link is that they restrict Internet from 3pm to 12am. You can read more in the link below.
The question is, what is the point of that? That is exactly the hours anybody will be awake to do anything. They make it sound as if you can just set your alarm for 2am so you can wake up and watch some TV.
They apply these fair use policies during exactly the hours people actually need access to data. What’s the point of paying for it then? Or having it all? It’s not like you’d be awake when speeds are normal.
It’s now 12am and my download and streaming speed is poor. I experienced the same thing with Giffgaff, to the point you couldn’t even use your browser or listening to the Internet Radio. Three is just going to get worse and worse. If I were you, I wouldn’t join them. You’ll get into an endless loop of frustration and find yourself talking on the phone to people who’ll make your life so difficult that you’ll feel physically sick.
I’m now looking for another mobile company – I can’t deal with this poor service again.

This company has gone from one I used to recommend to people to one I now say to stay far away from. This isn't going to be pretty so lets list all my complaints.

1. Customer services - horrendous & you'll have a hard job understanding what they're saying! If you have any issues, they are completely clueless and insist on reading from a scripted set of questions. 1* rating is too good for them - it should be ZERO.

2. Pricing - they've gone from one of the best (& cheapest) to one of the most expensive. and this cop out CR*p with discounts by direct debit?? Utter rubbish & Tosh. Where they've picked up this practice from, God only knows! Also guaranteed price RISE every year??? Seriously, read their t&c and you'll see..
Also, their contract range is poor & expensive compare to other providers. Serious lack of flexibility to tailor one to your specific needs, so if you end up on the wrong one, they wont allow you to go to a cheaper one, it's always a more expensive option.
And that means you're stuck paying silly prices for up to 2 years!

3. Coverage - zero 4g coverage. 2/3g coverage has gone from good to patchy & pretty much non existent indoors! Tried the phone on different networks and they're all fine so it's a 3 issue.
And 4g?? They paid billions to use the airwaves yet most people don't get it! All the customers get are bigger bills!

4. Product range - Again, compared to others, POOR and expensive - especially on the lower range products. And their tablet selection? If you love apple, you're laughing.. otherwise, atrocious.
Very expensive & all price plans are pitiful.

I'm sorry, but after being with them for many years, I won't be once my current contract ends.
I can't think of any good points anymore for a company which used to be so great...

I would seriously think twice before opting to use them.

If you are purchasing an Apple iPad do not use a 3 sim for broadband. The iMessage does not interact with it so you cannot access the 3 App to top up or change your contract. The call centre I believe situated in India was unhelpful and were not conversant with the interoperability of Apple and 3.
If changing tariffs minimum time to wait is 48 hrs for upgrade which if you are short on data you cannot add whilst you wait.
If you use it for business then that's a nightmare.
Customer Service cannot help you with the above problem as they cannot add or change data.
So beware Cheap but cheap brings its on problems.

I am so disappointed in three and it's only been 1 day. I tried to upgrade my husband's account to change the plan and pay for a new phone as well.
They said it was impossible and I had to start a new contract for 41.00 for 2 years to get the phone I wanted for my husband. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for his bday. They did a credit check and approved a 2 year contract with 14 days cooling off period.

The signal service has been so poor that I called to complain and was told to upgrade to a 4G phone and plan for free, and I could cancel the other contract.

They said they had to run another credit check. I complained that they only did one 12 hours ago but they insisted they had to do it again.

Yesterday was glowing I was told and today I did not meet criteria. No leisure vessel in my driveway since last night so very upset.

Yesterday I was told there was a popup saying my cretit was exception and they offered me a free tablet with a data contract for 9.00 a month.

Today, after 3 hours on the phone and 4 people I feel angry, screwed and bitter.

They have damaged my credit for no reason and lied to me about my options.

Literally we have 2 bars by the south facing window and 0 in any other room.

3 Mobile have what must be the worst customer service going. When you eventually get through it is very difficult to understand their foreign customer service, they don't acknowledge problems and don't resolve long standing technical issues. We have 3 phones on SIM only Top-Up basis. Initially package prices were very good, but they increase without notice. Also Top-Up is fraught with technical problems whichever way you do it and once you add funds it is frustrating try to buy the correct Add-On package. Lastly why are they unable to generate an historic summary of account transaction and usage? To cap it all recently we have experienced problems with the voice service coverage, internet service still appears OK. In short we will be moving to another provider.

Would not recommend! Bought a 1 month dongle plan for £19.99 and the bill came to £25 when i used about 2gb max. I then couldnt access my My3 account to pay the bill because it was blocked - because i wasnt aware of the bill - so i had to call customer services many times to try to work out how to access my account. I ended up paying the £25 bill over the phone but then still couldnt access my account to top up as the sim is for a dongle so cant receive texts which the password would have been sent to. When trying to contact them to change the password they were no help at all and i still havent been able to access my account after trying for a week. I am now on EE which i highly recommend!

Worst provider ever. I hardly go a two month period without the system running slow or not being able to connect at all.

The customer service is about a useful as a chocolate fire tea cup. Every time I got in touch with them, I got someone in another country who didn't understand what I was trying to say, and i usually didn't understand them.

On more than one occasion I was told to take my laptop and drive to somewhere where i could get a better signal. They did not even try to resolve my issues. Ive been with them for three years because they where all that I could afford at the time.

My contract runs out soon and I will not be renewing it with them. as i can now afford a better service.

Would not recommend three to anyone.

Oh my the worst company ever. I bought a mobile dongle service to be used abroad in specific countries. It worked from Manchester to London but not beyond. I struggled switching it on and off trying to get it to work whilst abroad with no joy. On return to UK I cancelled the contract - with unbelievable difficulty. Then when final bill arrived they charged me £35 for using the internet. I couldn't understand it and still don't. I argued for several days but they insisted regardless of whether I used it or not I obviously had it on and needed to pay. I still can't get over it. Then to top things up. I sent my sons phone in for repair. The repair service removed the sim card and couldn't work out what they did with it. I ordered a new sim from three and had to pay £5.11. I nearly collapsed other providers replace them for free. There must be a 20K% markup on that bit of plastic. Would never recommend three to anyone. I would give zero stars if it was possible. Telephone customer service an absolute shambles (if you can get through).

Three mobile simple doesn't work in the City of London or in buildings. They can show you 4G sign from time to time but you won't be able to open a website or to check your email for less then 2-3 minutes. The speed and coverage is the worst I've seen ever.
To be honest broadband works a bit better in the country, outside London. But never you will get anything even close to 4G seed.
The prices are quite competitive and free roaming is the best advantage.
There must have the worst network in the UK.

Wow.... Where do I begin? I've been with three for 7 months or maybe a little bit more. I first signed up online to get a contract and when that did not work I went in store to sign a contract without knowing that I had 2 contract with them. Everytime my bill printed something just was not right and when I called in they would say it's because I went over my minutes which is why I was being charged so much. I finally got through to a manager who explained that I had two bills. I was very annoyed because all the time I spent on the phone to them complaining about my bill they failed to explain this to me. To put injuries on the salt, they also failed to cancel the second contract which the manager on the phone promised she would do. 5 months later I get a letter saying to pay an outstanding bill for the contract which was meant to be cancelled. I spent more than an hour on the phone speaking to at least 4 agents to get only 1 month free for my up and coming bill. I am still fighting to be compensated for the months I paid for the other line

God knows why am still with them. I don't even get signal worst of all the customer service is shocking. I am currently looking for a new company. I will never recommend three to anyone because it does not help there customers or listen to them. I would advise you advoid this company

I have been a Three Mobile customer for quite a few years now. I have managed to develop 5 websites on a Three Mobile dongle so I can't really complain about the usage, but I will say that the Customer Support is certainly challenging.
We have had an issue with the dongle recently so we needed to get in touch with Three. We went to their support page many times and left messages as suggested, but we never heard from them. It may seem a bit strange, but the customer support on Twitter is excellent. Unfortunately it is limited, because they then transfer you to the Three support page where nobody gets in touch. However, if you call customer support they will try hard to sell you another contract. Be careful. A few years ago, I agreed to a 12 month contract and they put me on a 24 month contract. As I was a loyal customer at the time, I accepted it because I fixed the problem I had then myself. Unfortunately, customer service recently has been shocking.
We try not to call customer service if we can help it because we are unable to understand the people on the other end of the phone.
Many years ago, I did ask to speak to a Manager or Managing Director, who was very kind and was very helpful, but to be honest it should never get to that stage in the first place!
As I use the internet alot, for business, I am now looking for another service provider with excellent support. I doubt I will find anyone who can match the deal I have which was made with the Managing Director, but I guess customer service has now become my top priority.

Company you can recommend to your worst enemy - three mobile customer service is just awful. I was calling 6x about particular problem before they fixed it.
Other thing Three mobile data signal is very poor. Customer service says you need to contact department about, they will check why signal is bad and will try to sort it out. When connected that department has excuse - your phone is faulty (in our case 7 phones have the same problem with signal). We have situation when 9 people are sitting in one room (iphone 4s, iphone 6, samsung s4, s5, s5, s6, note2 on three mobile; iphone 4 and samsung s5 on other networks). Three mobile's signal is coming and going on all phones - one minute it is here, then dissappears, then again appears, it is jumping between H, H+ and 4G, and it shows full bars, but you can't connect. On all phones the same. Absolutely helpless. Other networks permanently have signal. We are located in London. Here is NO CHANCES to get any help from three mobile customer service. But three mobile will charge you for nonexistent signal properly, 'because you signed contract with us'. For them it is one side contract, they are not obligate to provide service you were expecting when chose to get their simcard. And after that they are shameless enough to try sell you a new contract. Just try to avoid this company!

Three are the most difficult company to deal with. I ordered a broadband device to take away on holiday with me over the phone. I was assured it would be delivered before I went on holiday. As it did not turn up by this date I rushed to a Three store to pick up a new device and in turn take out a new contract. I tried to cancel the contract and was told they would log the call but I couldn't cancel until I received the device or if I refused the device. On my return from holiday the device had been stuffed in my letter box - I did not even get the chance to refuse the device. I then called customer services and after hours and hours of conversation over 5 days they still refused to let me return the device. i went back to the store I bought the 2nd device from and they tried reasoning with Three on my behalf however the call centre still refused to accept the device back. After numerous more calls eventually and emails eventually Three said I could send the device back. I sent the device back and am now being chased for an outstanding balance on my account, even though I set up a direct debit?? I am now suffering with panic attacks as I honestly don't know what to do.

I studied abroad in the UK for a year and found Three to be the cheapest phone company with the best and most reliable service. I would highly recommend their monthly all you can eat data plan, especially if you plan on traveling, because the nearly unlimited data usage allows you to tether, create hotspots, (a pleasant surprise), as well as message and call your friends through Facebook messenger, which I thought were all well worth the cost of 18 pounds per month. That being said, I did run into a few issues with being charged for data I didn't use and calls while abroad that were incorrectly charged. However, customer service was able to solve both issues and reaccredit my account (though it took a bit of digging). While I had to ask for a manager in both instances, the management level of their customer service team was both professional and helpful and I wish I had requested to talk to them earlier, as the representatives that answered both of my calls, while pleasant, didn't have much power.

The only major issue I had with Three as a company was their international payment plan. It took me over 1 month to figure out how I was supposed to pay my 18 pound bill after I had terminated both my UK bank account and address because once you close your account with them, you aren't able to access your My3 account (a technical mistake they should fix). The system is very out of date and they only accept transfer payments from your bank which, if you live in the US, is an additional $45-$50. For an 18 pound payment, that wasn't worth the cost at all. After quite a few transfers and being on the phone for over an hour, I talked to a customer service manager and the issue was resolved. The way upper management handled my dilemma was to my satisfaction and the reason I'm giving the company 4 stars. However, if you are planning on moving out of the UK or are studying abroad, make sure you end your contract a month in advance. In my case, I needed my data for the last month but if I had to do it again, I would probably opt for a prepaid sim card from Virgin and end my contract early. Until they update their system, paying from abroad is a pain.

Worst service I have ever had from Lincoln 3 mobile shop, after having upgraded mobile I found when I got home that they had supplied wrong sim card , old sim had by this time been de-activated. I rang the shop, the person answering phone actually laughed at me and said staff had given me wrong sim , said there was nothing they could do . I rang 3 customer support who said they could send me a sim in two days aand could not reactivate my old sim. I am a single dad and need my phone and also need it for work. In the end I had to do a 40 mile round trip to the Lincoln store to get sim replaced where the staff thought it was funny. I have been a customer of 3 for many years , I would never recommend 3 again and would advise all to avoid Lincoln branch

Got a contract with mobile broadcast on ipad2 since last year, bundled with 15gb mobile data. Very bad reception at home, no working solution (wifi signal, mobile home signal box) all rubbish. I wanted a lower tariff as i am UNABLE to use the mobile data anyway but they could not give me the option. I am still bound to pay the contracted price even if i am dissatisfied with the service. I have faithfully endured one year paying for the device and mobile data which i dont use and to my horror i still need to pay for another year! Customer service misinformed me that i can make changes to my tariff a year after which i thought i will have done today but no. That will cost me early contract adjustment fee of 250£ and if i decide to cancel the service? 250£ all the effin same. The most frustrating customer service encounter of my life.

Misinformed in Three shop when signing a two year dual service 'watertight' contract. Hours of phone calls to customer service because they do not respond to my complaints on their website. After contacting OFCOM, I have asked them to put things in writing, but they don't. They just ring, which makes it difficult to get the necessary documentation to justify a 'letter of deadlock'. Poor to non-existent mobile WiFi coverage. They advertise free 4G - but don;t have 4G cover in areas where most other providers do.

I took up the offer of phone + european coverage as it fitted my needs. Firstly its not very clear that you have to call 3 customer service to enable "roaming" - and I found out when I travelled over there. After having to call from friends phone (waiting about an hour) at premium rates they assured me that my phone will be enabled between 1-4 hours. Nothing! They didn't even respond to an email I sent later that day threatening to cancel my contract. Upon return to UK you are sent through a maize of telephone options only for you to be told to call back later. I only got listened to when I went through cancellation line! Don't bother with 3, they promise lots and deliver an awful service.

This is without a doubt the WORST thing I have ever bought. It simply hardly ever connects - even in areas of reputedly good coverage i.e. major cities and town centres. When it does, the wretched thing invariably disconnects within thirty seconds. It often has a good signal BUT limited service i.e. no internet. On the rare occasions it does actually connect and stay connected for more then thirty seconds, it is slower than dial up used to be! Topping up on line can taker thirty minutes due to the time lag between each of the four processes to do this. Do not buy this product. It is appalling.

HATE HATE HATE having this contract. I went in-store to inquire, as I wasn't keen on paying for expensive line installation in my new house. I had NO idea about how much data I need each month, but the sales assistant reassured me that 15GB was plenty and that she even watched Netflix daily with her MiFi. It seemed like a GREAT idea! £15 a month for a tiny, wireless connection!

I used the internet quite frugally at first, then eventually started a Netflix subscription. My data allowance ran out in two days. I phoned up Three, outraged, but they simply just suggested I don't stream movies anymore. The call centre staffed apologised a million times without offering any solutions. I was passed from person to person with the same reply, so eventually I just gave up. I guess that's why they were so repetitive. I'm so frustrated, I wish the sales assistant in store knew what she was talking about, otherwise I never would've entered into this contract! She had a duty to help educate people like me who had no idea, so now I'm stuck with this ridiculous contract. It's SLOW (Three suggested that it depends on what time I'm online...I could barely load a web page even at 3am) and my data even ran out this month after specifically AVOIDING large streams.

I've tried so hard to get rid of it, but I'm stuck. I've phoned countless times, filed complaints...There's nothing I can do. Thanks Three! Please train your staff better.

I was mugged nine days ago and THREE have been useless! I still don't have a replacement SIM card yet (for which they're charging me £5.11... I'm a pay monthly customer on a £40 a month plan?!). If you don't have a phone there is no way to contact them in real time (no chat option, Twitter won't deal with "account related concerns", no one has read a Facebook message I sent over 24 hours ago). I had to borrow a stranger's phone to report mine as stolen (I had my laptop, but there's no online option)... there was no obvious phone menu choice for victims of crime, so we waited on hold for 20 minutes before speaking to anyone. That person then repeatedly referred to my phone as "lost" even though I had told him over and over again I was the victim of a violent assault. He then tried to use my call as a sales opportunity (I'd told him I was on a stranger's phone). 6 days ago I emailed to ask about my SIM card and it took them 5 days to reply... clearly the rep hadn't read my email as he asked if they could send my SIM to the nearest store from my house (half an hour's drive away... ummm yeah I want to drive, park and come to them when I have pretty bad PTSD... and when I specifically asked for it to be delivered to my house ASAP). I replied to that email over 24 hours ago and am guessing I'm on another 5 day waiting list. I don't have a home phone, there is no payphone near my house, not enough bandwidth to get Skype running (this is the reality of living in the country). Having a working phone would allow me to call family & friends when I'm upset about the attack, it would really help me, but THREE couldn't give a sh*t, they just want my money. THREE are greedy, useless and heartless.

I went to three for mobile broadband march 2014, everything was fine and i received a good overall speed,

12 weeks ago i started having problems with the speed, very slow, sometimes near impossible to even get up a text page, used to watch clips from youtube
but that is near impossible now as it keeps buffering and cutting out

have rang the three team a few times but they just say that they will perform checks on the local mast and get back to me, there is nothing done at all, they told me to take my dongle into a three store to have it checked, when i took it they said that they could not check it as they do not have laptops in store, i use a desktop so why not check it on the shop computer

i have been in touch with them again today ( 8 may 2015 )

lets hope i get better results this time , keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

Since i took a contract of router Huawei E5372 on 4.December 2014 it seemed to me ok until 8.December 2014
when all 15GB gone.As i tried to resolve that issue and get an answer why is that they told me that i had
used it all (and other things like pay more on bills and excuses of not getting cancelation) even i explained
to them that that's not possible as i have been at work until late time but unfortunately with their rude
attitude as they promised an investigation of what hapend until now i haven't heard from them.So in the shortcut
as Three rejected my cancelation (even it was done after one week) still i have to pay for 2 years contract
although i'm not using their service as im scared to do.

It is difficult to know where to start with this company. Their network coverage is unreliable and nothing worse than not receiving texts or suddenly finding that you cannot make a call because there is no signal. They were particularly unhelpful and some of the call centre staff (and one of their managers) were quite rude when I explained that they were not being very helpful. After my contract expired I tried to cease the service. I found it difficult to get a PAC Code (promises but no code forthcoming). Eventually referred them to the Ombudsman Service. Cannot recommend Three and would be surprised if it is still around in a year's time!!

After spending hours on the phone trying to resolve disgusting behaviour, advice and as far as I'm concerned theft with (Three) competitor for my son. I realised just how lucky my experience with (Three) has been.
I as a total novice went to my local store 2yrs ago and asked for unlimited use. Groundbreaking idea! Bingo! I got just what I asked for. Never any issues and good connection the majority of the time.
I believe if a company does something right by me I should say thank you. So here goes. Thank you Three! My bill rarely goes over unless I phone abroad or 0845 numbers

Me and my wife bought a dongle/ broadband from Three and have since had to buy another 3 sim cards for it! The internet is intermittent and constantly cut outs. We have rung them more times than I can remember and every time they try sell us more products!...the last call they wanted £50 for a new dongle and for us to up the monthly contract by £5! We are currently on a 10gb/ £15 a month plan and barely use any of the data as no websites will load! I have got sick of the excuses and have now finally cancelled the contract, our last bit of internet runs out in a couple of weeks. We have finally decided to pay for Wifi installation to avoid this thieving, cheating, corporate company. Please do not feed this company with anymore of your hard earned money as they will not give you the service they promise!

Unethical Standards of CEO & Executives of Three

I'm on the sim rolling monthly One Plan of Three network. I signed up in winter 2013. I was assured it was for an indefinite period, with no end date and for as long as I wanted. I signed the monthly plan of £18 unlimited data, unlimited tethering, 2000 mins, hundreds of texts.

On 5th Nov 2014, I received a text from Three network, "Hello. We need to speak to you about changes to your plan. Please contact us free on 08003583429 to speak to our dedicated team." I spent almost 45 mins trying to get through to Three to ask what was going on? They evidently were besieged by other callers wanting to ask the same. All I got was bubblegum pop music, so I went to a Three store in London's West End. The store manager revealed that on Fri 31st Oct, 2014 news came down from on high - the CEO Dave Dyson and executives - that those of us who'd signed up for the unlimited data and unlimited tethering under the One Plan should be instructed that our Plan was no longer available to us - even though we'd signed for an indefinite and unlimited period. The rug was to be pulled from underneath us - whether we liked it or not. We were now to be charged more and be given less. If we didn't like it, we would be told to go elsewhere and our account would be terminated. We were not to be given a choice. The store manager also said that the CEO and executives knew this would result in numerous disgruntled customers and complaints, but he said "they don't care". He said he'd received many complaints from customers who'd received the same text as me, and was advising us all to complain to Three (he warned it'd make little difference as the instruction, to treat One Plan customers so abysmally, had come from the top of Three) and to also register complaints with Ofcom. He was very apologetic and said it was unethical and a blatant dishonouring of an agreement we'd all signed in good faith. He also said that it reflected very badly on him and his staff who'd acted in good faith when convincing me and others to leave our other networks/deals, and to move to Three's One Plan. The nearby customers all heard him speak openly and with no respect for Three's unethical treatment of customers.

Over the last week, these are the results of trying to download updates/win10 preview. TomTom 32Mb update - estimated time 29hours, New PC Widows 8.1 updates - failed twice to complete. Win10 3.6GB download - estimated time 5 days!
Service absolutely unfit for purpose with pages unavailable, timeouts and some download speeds showing 0kb/s , maximum I've had is 93Kb/s. 3 shop told me there were problems with masts in Wakefield area. 3 technician told me nothing wrong with masts in Wakefield area. After 30 minutes on the phone and various undisclosed diagnostic tests, they sort of admitted something wasn't quite right. However it would take 7 days to fix it.As 3 Mobile is my only link to the internet and the need to be able to use it anywhere in the UK, this reply was unacceptable. So, I've now got several PCs ( 2 new) requiring Updates a new TomTom that I can't register or download updates for and I'm continually having to retry accessing the Terminal Cancer support groups I need for my condition. In addition, we cannot access my wife's internet banking service in Crete. All this seems to have no effect on 3 Mobile getting their finger out to help me. They used to be good, but they really are rubbish now!

Wakefield, West Yorkshire Three Mobile
Hoodwinked by AYGE data, I took out a month-by-month contract one Thursday at the Three Store in Stratford, London. It apparently had a 14-day no coverage no quibble guarantee.

After the SIM activated I found out that the data rates where I work in London were terrible, and I had no signal whatsoever at home.

So on the Saturday I took it to my local store in Bromley. Here I requested to be disconnected and my PAC sent as I had no covereage.

Surprise surprise: I would have to pay 2 months, the current month plus the month for which my "30 days notice" period covered. I pointed out I hhad been told that by returning the SIM within a few days I could have the contract nulled. They phoned CS - I wasn't party to all the conversation but essentially the outcome was that I had to go back to Stratford.

So, on the Monday, I did. What happened here defies belief for a modern "customer focused" company. The store manager (no less) looked at me like a piece of sh*t and rang CS. He then handed me his phone and told me to deal with it!

30 minutes later I was still waiting for someone from CS to answer. And when they did: I got the same story about 2 months payments etc etc. I gave the phone back to the store manager and asked him to come to an agreement with CS whereby my NO QUIBBLE GUARANTEE could be granted. The storemanager eventually hung up on the CS guy. Whilst I was standing there I got an email from CS saying (roughly) this: "nothing has changed, you will continue to be charged monthly".

The Store Manager then typed out a form on his PC which, I assumed, was going back to CS with my details. It did, in fact, have a reference to a 14-day NO QUIBBLE GUARANTEE. How infuriating. He had this power all along. What was the point of making me wait on the phone for over half an hour? Did he think I was just going to walk away?

So, I was told that the PAC would be issued in 24-48 hours.

When I told my wife she reckoned I would be beter off checking the following day to see what was being done. Oh man. It got worse.

I called "Customer Service". They had no record of my disconection & PAC request. The woman kept telling me I had to go into the store. I kept asking her to call the store. But she would not. After 20 minutes of this cr*p I asked to speak to her manager. I was transferred, and the guy did phone the store, and the outcome of this was particularly farcical.

My request had been sent to a "Backroom Team". And he could not speak to that backroom team. I asked for a case number. He did not have a case number. I asked if he could ring the backroom team and ascertain whether my request was known, and what my case number would be. He refused "they do not have a phone number". I asked him to email the backroom team. He refused "they do not have an email address".

Really??? A team at Three (which is a telecom company right?) have no email and no phone.

This "manager" informs me that I must go back to Stratford. I ask again for him to contact his background team, and he says he does not have the authority. So.. he has the authority to ask ME to go halfway across London, but not enough authority to call or email a team in his own company. Is this for real?

So 4 days after my first attempt to get a PAC, and 2 since my last there is no end to this in sight. I had some inkling that PACs were supposed to be issued with a maximum delay of 2 hours.

The Customer Service of 3 is as bad as I have ever had, only Talk Talk is comparable. I reckon nobody wants to take control of this as their precious Cost Codes get hit - would explain why nobody at Bromley would touch it, why CS refuse to acknowledge a 14-day return policy, and why Stratford are so reluctant to take direct action. Compare this to a proper custome focussed company - think (say) First Direct, or Amazon, or Tesco. Do you think anything like this would be happening at any of those?

The broadband is non existent in Canary Wharf, calls and internet are non-existent in West Wickham, and where I did get connection it never got close to 4G speeds (not even to their much vaunted double speed 3G).

I absolutely reccommend everyone to steer clear unless you know you will not have coverage problems.

Excellent service! I purchased the mobile broadband device online to use whilst Virgin were down due to roadworks. It arrived the following day with too many bits of paperwork but I got it activated within a couple of hours. Every advisor I spoke to was very courteous and helpful. It was a pleasure to do business with 3 !!

1.5 years ago I signed a contract for monthly payments sim only. Unfortunately, the network signal is weak and disappears without a reason, so I decided to break the contract. It was a subscription of 12 pounds a month. 2 bills before deciding came for the amount of 27 and 29 pounds. After the break the contract I got a bill for 62 pounds, with no connection was doing that were on the bill, and some of them were double-counted. Every second voicemail was counted as a minute. I do not recommend, and he never would use the services of this thieving company. I advise everyone to be careful.

I have never experienced worse customer service than with Three UK. I paid for internet, and they couldn't help me get it working. They kept telling me they'd send me the details I needed via text, and they'd never come through. I spoke with over 5 different people and all of them were unhelpful and borderline rude. Now I asked for a refund, and they said they can't do a refund, but they'd be happy to issue a credit to my account. They said their system can't process refunds (which is clearly a lie). I am just so frustrated - and am out the money I paid for a month, which is very frustrating since I didn't even use the service! Switching cell services for sure.

My God where do I start?
How and why I ever got involved with this tin pot company I will never know. After having two contract phones with these jokers then trying to leave because the network coverage was so crap everywhere we went in the UK, the experience was so stressful and upsetting. They just wont let you leave! Endless arguments with the people they employ from the indian sub continent, many of whom you cannot understand, raises your blood pressure to dangerous levels!
I also foolishly took a broadband contract out too, only to find that the only thing they are very efficient in doing is taking your money each month, but they fail to appreciate that it SHOULD be for a reliable service level. Again wherever we went in the UK, there was no service. On the odd occasion we did receive a signal the download speed was crap!!
Sending emails, letters etc just don't work either. They just deny ever receiving anything even though its via their website! They just insist on you phoning them so you can spend hours on the phone arguing with countless individuals and getting nowhere. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

I'm with three network for the last 7 years, and got 3 contracts with them. I had a technical issue with my HTC One x recently and when contacted Three, without explaining things they transferred the call to HTC, saying the manufacturers handle the repairs. It was not the case in the past.
Anyhow phone was collected on 7th of October and they said it would be returned in 5 days.
Even after one week I didn't receive my handset. Spoke to Three/HTC without any luck. Sent 2 emails and a letter to Three but still they could not solve the problem. They didn't bother to provide me with a loan phone even.
Three wanted me to request for a compensation from HTC. But i didn't sign up with any manufacturer to ask for a compensation or deal with them. It's Three who should coordinate with them to make sure that they provide with the service that they promise.
The phone was finally delivered on 31st of October, that's after 24 days.
Well, what sort of a service is that.
On top of that I received a letter from their Director of Customer Services to say that I should take this issue up with Ombudsman Services since they couldn't resolve my issue.
I was with Vodafone, and thereafter with T-mobile before joining Three. The only reason for the switch over was Three was much cheaper, but now I realize that's a big mistake.
Although they're cheap, their Customer Service is really horrendous, and their network coverage is also very poor even in London.
I would never recommend any one to join Three, and also I have 7 more contacts among my family members with Three, and would make sure they switch to another network when their contacts are up for renewals.

Cancelling a contract takes at least 3 phone calls speaking to different people and takes well over 30 minutes each time. I have had mobile broadband with them on a dongle and for a tablet and cancelling both was a nightmare. They are rude, arrogant, pushy and offer no help. These calls cost me a great deal because I don't have a three phone and they just try to keep you on the phone as if their persistence will encourage you to take out a new contract. Not to mention that their signal for mobile broadband is poor and not worth the money. I won't be using their services again.

AVOID THREE AT ALL COSTS!!! Customer service is appalling, called them today to cancel after 4 yrs and the first person i spoke to said i would incur a charge for cancelling early even though my contract is due up at the end of the month, second person i spoke to called me a liar as i told him i was offered a better deal with another reputable company and was told not only did this well known company supply refurbished handsets but that i would need to pay £60 to cancel early even though my plan is 35 a month. I eventually agreed to pay this amount just so i did not have to deal with this company any more. I was then passed through to another department only to be told on 5 separate attempts that i could not be located on their systems, after 45 mins, 4 different advisors i eventually was able to cancel for a fee of 59.25. I have since contacted the other company who aledgedly sell refurbished handsets to be told this is false and three have used this tactic to pressure other customers into not cancelling. DO NOT BUY FROM THREE, YOU WILL REGRET IT

Terrible all round. I am appalled at the way they treat people. My contract expired and I told 3 I was not renewing it. They sent a text to confirm this but they have since upgraded it without my permission.I have since been on the phone many times but they do not want to understand. They said that I did not inform them that I did not want to continue with 3 but the text I received confirmed that they were sorry I was not renewing and leaving them. This shows that they are lying. It seems they are desperate for our custom. I have also completed the complaints form and until now have received no automatic response as they have promised on their website. Terrible service.

3-MOBILE are not trustworthy!
I do not advise people not to deal with them but to knows this fact from someone with three years experience!
PHONES
On paper everything looks the best in the market but I experienced intermittent mobile broadband signal failure join my phone and have left now to pay more elsewhere in three hope of better quality and lesso lies about " network upgrades etc". I also suffered dozens of nuisance calls for weeks from their Retention team owing me hot deals when I got a PAC code to leave...and that was a torturous process that took ages. As I told them, if only you valued and really looked after your existing customers instead of chasing new business so much you might not piss them off so much they just want to get away at all costs! Many upgrade offers are just old stock they are trying to get rid of for a fast profit...always shop around and NEVER accept what you are initially offered. That is 3-Mobile's game in a nutshell, as is apparently anything something but afterwards secretly giving less our not doing it. They rely on talking customers into submission and on their innocence and/or apathy! It is the Eastern way!
USB Broadband
Half decent service but with intermittent failure. Lost it completely for a month. Sometimes.Indian customer service may say we will put a credit on your account but thry will not...shocking liars, comes naturally, will say anything really but it rarely comes to pass, though the USB dongle people are better than the phone side.to be fair.
I agreed a deal for a laptop + MiFi yesterday but am calling back to check the entire deal & the vfull specs of the machine as I smell a rat. If so I will cancel and never deal with them again.

Your MUST take notes of everything you are told in detail and keep them all as back up for your case in future with 3-Mobile...a very tricky company indeed. I spent time in the East and know what they are like...not to be taken at face value I assure you!
Conclusion: DODGY

my story is a tale of two halfs im 12 months into my 15 gig a month contract,i spent the 1st 10 months losing signal unable to download or view video etc,in short it was a disgrace, and i suspect underhanded play to prevent customers using there full allowance, however in the last two months i have had decent service signal and download speeds my sis works for ofcom and has asked me for info,so i will wait and do a proper review in 6 more months to be fair to 3 they do seem to have rectified alot of probs.but you cant advertise 15gig then not have the facilities in place to allow the customer to use it.myself kids and partner are all 3 payasugo phone customers,7 in total spending roughly 350 a month,if 1 goes we all go.

I have rigged up a homemade antenna on the roof to get the most signal - 4/5 bars - and this mobile internet is still SLOW. During the weekend and after 5ish on weekdays, it gets noticeably worse, which means pretty awful. It is certainly better than having no internet at all, but I don't see this as being an alternative to proper BB. The CS is fine, but they obviously can't do anything about this. They say that they are doing a signal upgrade sometime next year, but who knows?

Absolutely unreliable service. Unable to Skype or video conferencing. Misleading information before signing contract. Costumer service advised me to monitor my internet speed and tried to convince me that there is no problem with traffic volume when all my tests shown that service is grossly oversubscribed. Summarized : one horror story in 10 years of using internet.

I have a deal with a speed of up to 3.6mbs, but through testing the speed from different speed test sites, I have an average of 0.5 mbs, with a low of 0.36mbs and a high (occasionally) of 0.8mbs. I am well aware that the speed will depend on how many subscribers are on line at one time, but would have thought that the ISP would have upgaded their service to cope with this, and fulfill their obligations of providing somewhere near the speeds promised.
