    ###Avoid at all costs###

This company is robbing people after changing my location they automatically decided to extend my contract and change my package without my acknowledgement before moving house I gave them three locations and they do they told me we cannot provide fibre broadband so can I end my contract now you still have to pay for your contract I finally found a property which I can provide fibre broadband and I’ve changed my contract without my acknowledgement from £28 to £52 Who pays that amount for broadband nowadays fck joke.

I cannot believe this is how virgin media does business i’ve been arguing for the past of one of years to resolve this they keep telling me yes we have Applied the discount back to account every month I’m just getting the same amount of built over and over again

Virgin broadband gave us the worst ever experience with a broadband provider. We switched to Virgin broadband in March 2023 (4 months ago) and we are still waiting for the installation, which Virgin delays each time 2 days before it happens. I would advise avoiding Virgin broadband as the customer service has been bad, their sales offers are alluring (especially when they offer O2 sim with Volt), their initial installation date is not true, and they have the right to change it without the customer saying anything.

A week ago I was encouraged to move to Virgin media by Carphone Warehouse, was assured it would be hassle free. Was not made aware of need to change my number or that my sockets would need changing and a day's annual leave would be required to do this. I have spent 4 hours on phone calls trying to resolve this and spoken to numerous department. In the end I have stayed with Sky. Extremely stressful situation for me and my family as most of my weekend has been spent trying to resolve the issue. I am not happy.

I would not recommend that anyone go with Virgin Media or stay with them. RUN A MILE if you can. They do not care about their customers and their service is much less than terrible. Today I sat in my auntie's house who os over 80 years old. I went on behalf of her because Virgin Media were due to install a brand new up to date router because she was still being charged on the old blue yonder broadband provider which was not providing her with an acceptable service. We were told that they would come between 1 and 6pm. By 6.00 they hadn't arrived and we did not receive a phone call to explain where the engineer was or what was going on. I was told by Virgin Media at 5.50 that the engineer had stated in his system that 'he was on his way'. I asked her where he was coming from and how long he would be.She couldn't say because she didn't know. At 6.30 I rang AGAIN!. This time I asked to speak with a manager. The woman told me to explain the complaint and then she would put a mangaer on. After I told her that the engineer hadnt turned up, she tried to fob me off with....'Oh we usually tell our customers that sometimes they may run a little late'. The time was now 6.30pm and at 5.50pm I was told that he was on his way. At 7.00pm, the engineer still hadn't arrived. I rang for the third time and asked to speak with a manager. Someone called Johnathan claiming to be a manager told me that he couldnt locate him (CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!) A worker couldnt be located. Ive nver heard of such nonsense before. They couldnt contact him but'He was held up in a job!'That is not what I was told before. Now this Johnathan was telling me that he was down to still come. Dearest customers, I had made plans, my auntie had made plans for after 6.00 bu we couldn't keep to our plans because Virgin Media has mucked up our day. I have never ever experienced from any provider such an awful, uncaring and unprofessional behaviour. My auntie cancelled Virgin Media and is now with sky broadband. I am also with sky broadband and they are amazing!!!So, speaking from experience.....leave Virgin Media and their crap service alone.

After ten weeks of intermittent broadband I have repeatedly attempted to seek assistance through online contact but failed as the process refuses to facilitate any dialogue. Usually it ends with the doomed legend "This page cannot be displayed". It was my own error of judgment when I signed up for the worst ISP in the world. What I need is a picture of Richard Branson to pi to my dartboard

Avoid Avoid! I have been on a rolling contract after my one year contract had expired. The connections constantly keeps on dropping. Eventually I decided to leave them. I gave them a 30 day notice on the 10th of March. Had a retaining call to keep me on the 12th offering me an upgrade as a trial which would not interfere with my termination date. And now they are denying that I terminated my contract giving a 30 period days notice even though they had called me to retain me. So they are expecting me to pay for yet another 30 period days notice. Customer service is rude, aggressive and even hanged up on me, even though i kept myself composed and well mannered. One and never again!

Avoid these guys at all costs. I placed an order for virgin broadband and arranged the installation to be done on a Saturday morning as I wanted to be in rather than my wife as I knew they would need to lift a section of the mono driveway. I received several texts the week leading up to the install asking if that date still suited and there Covid rules.

On the morning I got up early to make sure cars etc was removed from the driveway and then waited for 5 hours for them to turn up, but they never did

On phoning them after an hour I was told the that install had been cancelled due to their 3rd party contacts saying that they couldn’t do the job due to the shared driveway and it being mono-blocked. This apparently had been decided by them on Friday but they never contacted me to advise this and in fact I have checked my cameras at the house and can’t even see them looking at the job.

What a wasted day for me and my family

What the hell has happened to Virgin Media? Their customer reviews are appalling. I've been with them on phone and broadband for 15 years and they're now SO bad that they're even making BBC News headlines!

As an existing customer wanting to keep my virginmedia email addresses, I tried to get Virgin Media broadband installed at my new house. After months of back & forth, dozens of calls and two visits by engineers, I was told that Virgin Media cannot service the property. Which is utter bull as the flats next to and above me are all on Virgin Media. There are four Virgin Media junction boxes screw-fixed to the outside walls of our building! After what's been an infuriating experience trying to explain this to various customer service operators (only for the line to go dead or to be passed on to someone else who's equally as useless), I have now lost all faith in them and will be looking elsewhere.

Virgin Media ... SORT YOURSELVES OUT! You've completely lost the plot. You get one star because 0 stars not available.

My contract started on the 13th of June and beforehand we specified on the phone that I have no cables whatsoever and they need to sort this out.
Engineer crews often came and couldn't install cables stating that a cable re-pull needs to be done outside of the block first.
Since then I've had over 4 appointments of them doing this pull work but somehow they still can't manage to do them and they never gave any explanation of why this work hasn't occurred, only making different day appointments.
In the meantime money has been taken from my account for billings and services I am not even using...
Currently, I am looking for ways to legally seek my rights.
Avoid this company they are frauds and will give you only extra trouble and problems.
They take my money and I've never even used their services not to mention the fact I have to call them every week and explain my issue from scratch every single time...

I am absolutely disgusted! Virgin found out I was changing address as a housemate applied for their own broadband- since I was taking the current box with me. They contacted me asking if I was moving and I confirmed that but then they asked my HOUSEMATE if they had permission to cut it off- they didn't bother asking me! So I was stuck there for 2 weeks without any internet! When I phoned them up THREE TIMES to sort it, the first time the guy put the phone down on me- rude!- and the second and third time they were more concerned with getting my new address than re-uploading my contract. I'd already paid the full month's worth! So after I moved I made another complaint as it wasn't me they asked about the account, and the woman promised a refund cheque will be sent to my new address. I double checked she had my new address but, surprise surprise! it was sent to my old address. This was a month ago. So I rang them again recently and they just lied throughout, talking over me, interrupting and basically implying it's my own fault even though I did everything I could to make it easy for them. Then right at the end the guy just asked me to contact my old housemate and ask him to send the cheque to my new address. So even after all the hassle and stress they've put me under it's STILL down to me sort it out! Absolutely hurt and disgusted. Rude staff and unreliable.

Disconnected my broadband by mistake a month before the schedule disconnection (how does someone even make this mistake!) Tried to get it reconnected but an error on their part meant I was phoning them everyday for 2 hours and being told continuously to wait 48h. Well, I waited 6 days wfh with no wifi and still wasn't solved!! In a moment of desperation I switched to BT, and had great Wifi the next day (highly recommend BT). Virgin also has not refunded me for the extra month I was charged where I didn't have Wifi, and my time they wasted. Would have given 0 stars if I could.

Aweful service, regularly drops 5 to 6 times a day, its down to the way virgin configuire IP adresses, its illogical constantly overlapping and having proeblems. No other ISP has this problem.

When you ring them you get through after usually 20-30 mins, they give you crap excuses as to why its so bad and then they tell you to do the most basic things i.e turn the router off and on.

After spending about 2 hours talking to someone, all they did was tell me to do a whole power cycle, said they ran some things on their computer. When nothing had changed i rather angrily said, well do you think ive not tried that? its not going to work.
They said that was all they could do so i moved to talk talk.

From what i gather virgin is great for fibre optic in cities. But if you going on normal cable they dont give a toss in terms of service or reliability. Do not go with them

    Broadband details:

    9 month virgin student contract
    100Mb
    £37 p/m
    4 people in the househole

I can confirm virgin is THE WORST internet provider ever.

SLOW is not even a word to describe it.. even with 100Mb speed... I have 17Mb speed at home using sky and it is still faster :/ (weird)

Watching itv player this morning and it took about 10 mins to finally start up, the show then froze every 4 mins - its ridiculous.

I know there is 4 of us but even when I am the only one using the internet it can be really bad. They just tell you to refresh the router which isn't very useful.

I have used Sky and BT before which were perfectly fine.

I would not recommend virgin to anyone as their prices are ridiculous to top it off.

The star ratings are generous, as everything above would not even be rateable especially the speed, it makes me laugh all of your TV adverts you claim it to be the real deal fast internet when really it is a complete myth.

I am currently trying to play call of duty and as many of you know there is nothing more frustrating then getting killed, let alone being able to move. Trying to ring you now but obviously on hold
Thank you for your service completely utter rubbish.

Went with Virgin when I moved to new house as it was ment to be the fastest in the area. Virgin sales man came told me I could use phone anytime free if I put phone down before 60 mins got 1st bill. I knew it was a double bill but got charged over 100 for call charges he gave me wrong information it was only weekends so over 200 bill. Rang and attitude from customer service was appalling. They out me on incoming calls and even though I paid the bill I'm still on incoming calls. Carnt wait to change over I was with ee they are amazing going to go back to them as soon as I can Virgin media your sales team are dodgy and your customer service is disgusting it's a good job people are not face to face the way they speak to people

Don't bother with them unless you have more patience than Gandhi himself. Despite the high speeds they offer, you never actually get high speed internet, or even a consistant connection for that matter. Their online 'MyVirgin' account system is an absolute p*ss take too, half the time it says that this part of the site is down for maintenance and then it doesn't become available again for another 2-3 weeks. And when it comes to cancelling, F**K ME it's unneccesarily difficult, there's no feasible way of doing it online, even when you can get on to your 'MyVirgin' account. I had to call them up, go through a long-arse option selection, and then wait forever on hold. Once I finally got through to someone, I was forced to listen to them tell me about alternate packages that I'd be better off upgrading too instead, despite me telling them that I've already been made aware of these offers and have already started with a new ISP.

No words can describe the poor appalling service, incompetent staff and their excellent practice of trying to exhaust you by transferring you to different departments, every time asking you for credentials like you are starting from scratch a conversation despite being on the phone for 50-60min. I have been on the phone for 54min, speaking to 5 different people and suddenly being transferred to a person who said "How can help you" . Imaging how you would feel, wasting your time explaining 5 times that the engineer left without resolving the issue which has been going on for months and the only thing you hear is " I am really sorry about this". I llok forward to terminate the contract and would never ever sign anything with Virgin

Worst ISP I've ever used, certainly want to switch to another service. On top of the awfully slow download speeds the customer service team somehow manage to operate even slower, how is totally beyond me. We recently received a so called 'upgrade' to our router which has somehow made our internet speeds almost unbearable. Currently our upload speed is twice that of our download. Unacceptable.

I used to be an NTL customer. Then NTL became Virgin, we lost all the sky channels and I left Virgin swearing I would never deal with this bunch of dishonest scum again. 2 Years later i find myself in an area with dreadful ADSL and am forced to go with Virgin if I want servicable internet. I knew this would be a nightmare entered into, and guess waht, yes it is. This company is a disgrace. It invests millions of pounds in new main backbone infracstructure but then completely fails to support this with suffucient capacity in the street boxes that share the internet and TV out to its customers. In the last 4 years I have had to phone up and complain every 5 to 6 months that my TV signal has gone so that half my channels can no longer be recieved, and my internet is clearly being swamped in the box as I get sub 1mb download in the evening. If I try at 1am miraculously I get full speed. Every time I phone up some idiot at the call centre tries to tell me it is a TV box issue (what...both of them! really??) and that my router has a problem - oh just like it didnt have a problem on the previous numerous visits. I know how the system works (I'm a network engineer) and I actually explain the workings of their own system to these gimps and yet they insist that I have to wait in my house for an engineers visit - I do not need an engineer in my house, he just needs to add a card or fix my connection in the box in the street -but every time an engineer comes out and confirms once again that my boxes in hte house are perfectly fine and it is a problem with the box in the street - wow really...you don't say....

The thing is that Virgin could get rid of 95% of their complaints and negative feedback (and maybe not piss off all their customers ..just an idea) by sorting out the capacity on the boxes in the street - this will cost money - but how many customers leave because of their shocking service???? I can now get BT fiber in my area, my Virgin contract is about to be cancelled - thats about £1200 a year they wont be getting off me because they wont put some £4 interface cards into the box in my street.

Shockingly poor customer service - I've left them now but still have to wait 30 days.

Tried to install Virgin superfast broadband in my new home after being pleased with the fast speed in my old home and putting the lengthy delays for installation down to one-off problems that would not be repeated. Total nightmare!

Booked installation on three separate occasions. On each day, you are asked to take a half day off work but nobody turns up and the format of my day was identical:

    1. Lots of promises from a helpful sounding phone team all day long that the technician was on his way to my home, held up but would definitely come albeit late. Every time that you phone them, you are made to wait for 10 - 40 minutes (whilst paying for the call if your Virgin phone line is not yet installed).

    2. Around 7pm to 8pm each day, the technicians switch off their phones and go home. The helpdesk people then admit that they cannot get through to the installation men any longer and ask you to call back in the morning to rebook another installation day.

    3. Call back next day (another long wait to be answered), only to be promised the "first available new installation date" a couple of weeks away.

    4. This cycle repeats itself endlessly with no actual installation.

    Other issues are:

    a) your contract arrives with a higher price than you agreed to. This also occurred on every occasion that I renewed at my old address. You phone up, only to find that your old price has mysteriously disappeared from their system and settle for a new price. A contract for this lower price is promised but NEVER arrives. Result: the only paperwork that you possess is for a much higher price than you ever agreed to.

    b) Issue (a) above is irrelevant really because one or two months into your 12-18 month fixed price contract, Virgin will increase your prices anyway. Expect two or three price rises during your 12-18 month "fixed price" contract as this is what I regularly had at my old address. Each time, you have the right to threaten to leave (without penalty) and renegotiate a new contract, but of course this involves the long wait for the helpdesk and hassle that you could do without.

    (c) If you find yourself still having no installation after three booked appointments, you switch to another broadband provider and then have to argue with Virgin to get your money back, with more promises of new dates for installation.

Yes, the service is fast and cheap if you ever actually finally get it installed and are willing to fight over the price every 3-4 months, but if you actually want a reliable installation with a company that you can trust, then Virgin Media is not for you.

Most appalling customer service I’ve come across and this was on installation day, thus I was able to cancel. Despite having spent over 4.5 hours on the phone doing the grand tour of idea. It took another 45 minutes to cancel the contract. A new record. AVOID

Terrible customer service, terrible internet connection and they are deceiving the customers with the free gifts, what you are never receiving.
Today I have contacted customer service and he told me, it is my fault not receiving the free gift, because I am calling them everyday and they have to raise the issue to the team everyday, and that is why the complaint not going anywhere.
The service what they are providing the lowest so far from all.

The customer service is genuinely insane. It’s on WhatsApp which is the only good thing so at least you’re not on hold forever. I called to enquire about a discount because our broadband is so poor and cuts out at least 5 times a day. All was going well until Kaila the customer rep decided to send me a new 18 month contract in order to receive this discount. Why on earth would I want a new contract for a contract that doesn’t even work ? I asked if it would be possible to transfer this as I wouldn’t even be at my rented property for 18 months to which they responded I don’t know that’s another team. I googled it and apparently it’s 20 pounds to transfer it but I can’t even get Virgin in the location I’ll be moving to. Meanwhile they responded they had just spoke to the “moving team” and it’s apparently free. This is untrue. I also checked how much it would cost to end the contract before it’s up and it’s capped at £288 which is what I would have been charged so can you imagine if I’d approved this and wouldn’t actually be getting any discount but actually paying THEM more ? Absolutely ridiculous, greedy behaviour and unequipped customer service. Completely untrustworthy and as soon as I move I’ll be thrilled to end my relationship finally. I urge anyone thinking of using virgin to think again. It is so overpriced

Shocking!!! I was with sky and had 2 men knocking on my door to move to virgin so i looked to move over to them as they were offering higher speed, one day 2 random men turned up at my house taking pictures of my house then started drilling into my house, the men then used my bin to put all there cans of pop in, food, ropes and equipment, i had an appiopment booked for 27th of december come home early from my parents house for the appiopment for nobody to turn up, i ring up to see where they are, my 'appiopment' was never booked even they ive got emails and in my contract it says there are coming on the 27th, while on the phone i tried to cancel they just wouldnt let me cancel kept passing me to different people/departments, finally i managed to get through to someone who cancelled my services, they sent me a bill on £30 for my broadband, even thought nothing was up and running, i had no wifi hub but on their end it was all working, ive put nothing but compalints in and nobody has got back to me, finally spoke to a manager last week and all i got from him was 'we have cancelled your services what more do you want?' Customer services is shocking and rude, i will never ever think about moving to virgin!!! They keep asking me to return the equipment but there isnt no equipment to return!!

DO NOT PURCHASE INTERNET WITH VIRGIN!!!!!!
They are a bunch on money thieving scammers and have 0 customer service.
Got our internet in December and paid for our first month, tried to log into our online account and it says our account doesn’t exist. Second bill comes out of my direct debit so no contract sent to us, no bill, no online contract. I called and spoke to 4 different advisors over a 2 hour period they told me the same deal that we hace access to our account blah blah blah. They finally checked the email and they had put a totally different persons emails in my login which is why I wasn’t receiving anything. This had now been “fixed”, third month no email, no bill, no contract and still could not get into my account. Meanwhile the internet was appauling! It was running at less than half the speed it should have, would not reach the top floor (was promised it would) and drops out if more than 3 people are on it. Tried calling again was on the phone for an hour, was told they can’t send anyone out to test it until I verify my online account. Is this the same account that I’ve called twice about? And have tried chasing for the last 2 months?
