WORST WIFI IN THE WORLD - DO NOT USE VIRGIN. Right now I'm having to go to my friends or another family members home to revise for my a-levels as my wifi is unusable, up too 150MB per second and u cannot even load a page. Whenever we rang ( as we have over 25 times ) we get told that there is a 'fault' in our area or some over pathetic excuse. I am not one to write reviews but genuinly iv never ever ever ever been this hot headed in my life and it is due to Virgin media wifi

DONT USE VIRGINMEDIA COMPANY THEY ARE BAD NEWS VERY UNPROFESSINAL ESPECIALLY THE MANAGERS NO BODY KNOWS WHAT THEYRE DOING.
ISLEWORTH Virgin Media
Ridiculous behaviours and attitude of managers at virgin media with exiting customers when it comes to contract renewal. A customer advisor wasn’t really in a helping mood to renew my contract so I decided to give my 30 days notice in and raised a complaint where I was promised a call back within 48 hours which never happend and upon making another call for the resolution of my complaint I was told that a manager “ RUSSELL “ SAID THAT THE BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER HAS GIVEN A NOTICE IN AND WANTING TO LEAVE SO THAT IS RESOULTION TO THE COMPLAINT I MADE MYSELF

Customer service is terrible, they have never fixed a problem I have had, the speed is good but only lasts like an hour when I decide to download something, service is terrible getting high pings in games, throttled by 75% when trying to stream. Do not use virgin media as your ISP.

Most Unscrupulous Exploitative Network Ever!!!!
Worst network. Do not join this broadband or mobile network. They appear to be very good initially but they operate at a very unscrupulous exploitative level. They will fix you into a contract and will have you pay for a speed that you very rarely if ever get. Then, after your fixed term runs out, they start bombarding you with bi-annual unjustifiable price increases, and when you threaten to leave them, they offer you a "discount", which seems nice at first, but after a couple of years with this network provider you realise that you have to spend approx 45 minutes every six months on the phone with these morons to stop them from extorting you. Just cancelled my broadband and mobile. Never again!!!!!

Ordered virgin Broadband/TV/Phone and they booked an engineer to come out within 3 working days, result,!
then nobody turned up, we phoned them to be told we had waited in for 6 hours for no reason as it had been cancelled and put back two weeks. A week later we have an email saying it's been put on hold, so again we phone them, to be told 5 days before we can find out what date they will be actually booking an appointment to come out, no the appointment date just when they can tell us the appointment date. And all they can say is "sorry there is nothing we can do" so thanks virgin for nothing! We cancelled our original provider and have now been weeks without a landline or broadband! As a company we have found you to be unhelpful, unreliable, inconsiderate of your customers and there needs, total unhelpful and I would suggest anyone reading this to stay well clear!

Today I called virgin media to request that they transfer my currant package to my new address. We are having to move due to ill health. I was informed that they could not supply the system to the new address as they are not in the area. I was then informed that I would have to pay a cancellation fee for the remaining months of the contract. I feel that I should not have to pay this charge because it is not my fault that they do not supply to the area. I was also pressurised to use a company they recommend to find me deal with another supplier (Sky)and this would get me £100 worth of vouchers. I would also get a reward if I inform them of the new occupiers of my property, and then they can harass them. I would not recommend Virgin Media to anyone.

When it actually works the service is reasonably ok usually get around 5-10mbs of the 100mbs we pay for. But the problem is the service is constantly down and when it does go down customer service is less than useless and the fact you have to pay a premium rate for the call to the have your time wasted makes it all that mich better.

Bottle neck, narrow width, ms jitter is rediculous, server pingsfrom manchester and not home address goving false readings. Pay extra for gamer speed... Im resetin my routor mre than using it. I am realy fed up with them, once my contract is over im going back to adsl or 'fake fibre' as its more stable since virgin need to be entertained by jesters not complaints s they dont know how to interact or respond to simple technological questions ...

Virgin is an absolute joke. We have had ongoing problems since the day we agreed to have virgin.
Firstly they sent us a self instal kit. Despite being told several times that we do not have any cables. I know this for a 100% fact as when i did my front garden up 3 years ago, i removed the bits of the remaining cable & told virgin this when i called to order their service. They did not listen. We rang them several times speaking to several different so called managers. Eventually after 2 MONTHS. They sent a crew out to instal our service. When they arrived & looked they said " we cant instal anything as you do not have any cables". These engineers rang virin & told them. They still did not listen & sent the same crew back later the same day. 2 days later another crew was working opposite my house. They kindly looked at the connection points & told us what we have been telling them for 2 months. No cables!!! They also said that it needs rewiring back to the main junction box.
We relayed this back to virgin who told us it would be another 4 weeks before anyone could sort this. In the meantime they sent us 2 bills. We told them they could do the same with their bill as a duck does with its bill. ( stick it up its @#$%). I am not paying for a service i havent even had. So they said they would deduct it from the referal fee which would bring the bill down. Eventually after around 3 months waiting, our service was up & running. I say running but it was more of a stroll. Within the first week the so called 200mbps internet speed crashed while halfway through watching the new beauty & the beast on netflix. The system was not overloaded as the only wifi device using the internet was our tv. We rang virgin & had to speak to several managers about this. Eventually they agreed it was their fault & they would credit our account. They tried fobbing us off with a £10 credit but we did not accept that. Needless to say this was not the end of the issues. Since april 2017 we have had no end of issues with virgin. When you ring them the system recognises you are on a mobile phone, then preceeds to tell you that there is a problem in your postcode area & they are working on it & it will be fixed in the next few days. This has been going on for around 6 months. We have NEVER seen an engineer doing ANY work in the area since we had virgin installed.
The final straw came when the sent us a bill for just over £160. When we rang to queery this they said it was for 2 months bills. Now i am no carol vorderman but i can count. We signed up for 200mbps full house service at £55 pcm. Now in my head & even on my calculator 2 x £55 = £110. I even took my shoes & socks off to make doubley sure. To be fair my count was 1 out as i had a bunion on my big toe.
We told virgin that we will not pay anything until the service is up & running correctly. They said we need to talk to technical services but before they can put us through we have to pay the bill.!!!!! So guess what??? Yep back to the duck.
I would not reccomend virgin to my worst enemy.
Stick to sky. It cost more but the service is much better.

New cust and already having issues, Day1 and box dosent work and wifi signal is so weak my old plusnet that was faulty puts it to shame, the installer told me its the best hub on the market and it will reach to the bottom of my garden, yeah right wont even reach into the next room. tv keeps freezing internet keeps lagging and engineer left a mess after install outside. I moved to virgin as open reach refuse to fix the damaged cable to my house. I was better off before as virgin is terrible. Why can I get other peoples virgin wifi in my house with 3 bars and cant even get my own wifi to go above 2 bars. What a joke!!!! If they don't fix it looks like Ofcom will be getting a call.
UPDATE
Well 4 days went by and still no call even after someone emailed the manager. Now someone turned up. He says he was a supervisor. I wasn't born yesterday. He was an engineer. I started explaining and his manager called. He answered and just started to talk to him a d ignored me. Very rude. Anyway the promises of a manager still have not happened. Also custiner services said they would call me back to make sure the manager called me. What a surprise they never did. I Left the brick under my window that the engineer wedged was missing. Funny that I left that they're and took a photo. Now the so called supervisor said well it's not there anymore. He didn't believe me. It looks like he removed it before he knocked the door as it was there earlier in the day.
I will now be contacting ofcom. Mr Branson you should be ashamed of having people like this working for you. What a complete joke and I've only been a customer 1 week.

I have been with virgin for years as it was already installed when I moved in.
I finally got fed up with paying extra for my loyalty and called them to see about reducing my £67/month for broadband , TV and phone.
After 42 minutes and being put on hold 7 times I was told they could reduce my bill by a paltry £3 a month but only if I reduced my free phone calls. And this when new customers yare offered my bundle for £32.
I asked to speak to a supervisor but she was ‘too busy’ I bet she was!!
Off to pastures new as they just don’t care about existing customers.

Virgin are so terrible. so far we have been with them for about two months and have called to complain about the terrible service maybe 5/6 times but nothing has been done. If we are lucky we have a working Internet connection for a whole day but usually it drops out every few hours or runs at dial up speeds. I usually end up having to just use my mobile data which is way faster almost all of the time (not provided by virgin).

was ment to have virgin installed at my address on the 2nd of march took time off work, appointment between 8am-1pm, how ever it comes to 1pm on that day no one has arraived so I call them, I then get advised that my appointment has been canceled.....when I ask why it was due to people who lived there before had multi accounts in debt, when I had again confirmed how long I lived there "laura" advised she would get this sorted and give me a call back, oh guess what no call back, so after chasing them for a week, they turn round and say that due to the debt they will not give me virgin unless I can provide them with photo ID and 3 YEARS worth of proof of living at a different, address, then advised that even when I sent this in could take up to another month before I can even get there service Install and failed to compensate me for loss of Earning due to having to take the time off unpaid. so after failed appointments broken promises and me having to do all this bulshit just so it can go to there Fraud prevention team just gonna go to sky service good and there BB and TV is Decent, just hope I can get my 25 pound back

A shame 0 stars isn't an option. Our experiences with virgin media have been without fail truly shameful. I remain completely amazed that they appear online to rate well as our personal experience is as far to the opposite as is possible. We ordered internet and on order were told we would have internet in 10 days. Three months later after endless chasing and hassle we gave up. At every point we were informed we'd have internet in a week or two only for virgin to fail to provide. Quite simply the worst customer service experience of my life. If we'd had any other option for a provider we'd have stopped trying far earlier. I work for a software house and can't work from home without good internet. In the end I decided it was less stressful to commute until we could move house than to keep dealing with virgin media.

Installer left over 6 feet of excess cable tucked under neighbours fence, it took about a month to get this fixed by cutting the excess out and burying the joint.
Broadband speed are so slow that speedtest.net times out. Customer service have tried to sort it out but all attempts have failed,
last week we had a technician visit, speed great when he left but over the week it has dropped back down to rubbish speeds, today it was 12Mbs. I won't be renewing my contract, think before you buy. If I could give zero rating I would.

We are a heavy using family with lots of devices connected at once. We have BT Infinity 2 and have been pretty happy to be frank. Time to renew so I thought I'd look around. Got tempted by Virgins 200mbs service at about the same price as my BT.

Signing up was simple but that's the only positive thing at all that I can find to say. I signed up on Sunday and the installation date I gave was 8 days away with an alternate the following week. Those were ignored and I was booked in for a day 2 days away. That was out of the question so hours on the phone and the guy couldn't understand why my original date wasn't used, that was changed and then this afternoon I check the order status to see its been moved to 6 weeks away. Some dimwit in the chat room says...construction.....poor signal......very busy etc etc.

So messed about am I that I am going to stay with BT. but then, you have to try and cancel! OMG, what a nightmare. I have been trying for 3 hours this afternoon with no joy.

What a disgrace of a company. I read the reviews on here before signing up, I even spoke to the lady signing me up about them. All the assurances were more lies.

Please please, if you are considering changing to Virginmedia PLEASE DON'T. Slam your fingers in a drawer as it will be less painful and less frustrating.

Virgin Media are by far the best internet provider, coming from an IT geek. Handles multiple devices very well and the speed is fantastic! I get 100mb/s for the same price it would cost to get 20mb/s from BT or Sky.
Only downfall is their modem, it wouldn't overheat faster if you put it in an oven, get virgin internet and with the money you save buy a proper modem from Asus.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Enquired why I have been charged a cancellation fee (outside of a contract) and told “That is not our concern”

Rude customer services hung up the phone. Would not use them again if they were the last provider available. Internet connection was terrible too. Shambles of a company with a useless bunch of unhelpful staff

We have been with Virgin Media for nearly 16 years, and the service was always good. TV and Broadband offerings are great, but the customer service and quality of the technical support is now terrible.

If anyone is thinking of switching to Virgin I would strongly suggest you don't.

Broadband service in the last year has been terrible, with lots of downtime (at one point for two weeks straight!) These were area problems I might add so nothing to do with our equipment. The technical support is terrible with these type of issues as they just play you the same recorded message with no ETA to fix.

But the final nail in the coffin was when we moved house, we set our move date a month in advance, and we were told the de-connect/re-connect was all set. I was dubious as the guy on the phone didn't seem to know what he was doing, and no surprise, we re-connected at the new house and nothing worked. We called on day 1, day 2 and by day 3 they said there was nothing they could do and needed to send an engineer out in 2 weeks time! Nothing sooner!!!!!

Day 4 everything started working, broadband up and TV working fine, so we left it a day and then called on day 5 to cancel the engineer.

Day 6 woke up, and broadband service down. We called them again (2 hour wait for 1st line support) and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Explained I need the engineer visit as it has stopped working again, and they said that was unavailable now and would be a further 2 weeks at least. They told us our internet and TV was up and working and we were wrong that it wasn't!!!

Day 7 our new neighbours knocked on the door and asked if we had Virgin Media because something funny had happened to theirs. It turns out their service had been cut off and they had been given our services, even their phone number had changed!

I called Virgin Media to explain their mistake in activating at the wrong address and they told me this was impossible and basically that I was stupid and/or lying.... At this point I told them to just cancel my contract of 16 years because I was so wound up, and to my surprise the guys response was "Okay thats done for you now, good luck with your new provider"... No apology, nothing!!

I'm sure there are no guesses what happened next, our neighbours phone line cut off as well as all of our services. Lets say they are not happy at all either, and currently waiting for an engineer to come and reconnect them! What a way to start a relationship with new neighbours!

Thanks Virgin Media, 16 years of loyalty repaid with unorganised services, under qualified technical staff, and frankly rude customer service.

Just waiting for my SKY Q install next Wednesday!

Farnham, Surrey Virgin Media
Having been with Virgin for a year i report as follows speed very good average of about 85mb download can rise higher. We have never had any real problems had outage for several hours once since then all good. Router we have is fine for the house we are in wifi works everywhere. Sometimes 4 devices online again no problems. The package we have include telephone (never used) and basic tv bundle. The customer service is a little slow getting through but have contacted alot worse. We strted with an new user offer of 12 months at £29.00 a month, checked my account online and found at the the end of the 12 months that was gong to nearly double to £59. Phoned before the 30 day cancellation time explained. Was offered the same for £38.00 Only £9.00 increase. So Virgin media broadband has been fine for us good speeds and no real problems so would recommend. But important you contact before 30 days from end of your deal to either give them notice that your leaving or arrange a new deal.

We're on a service that's advertised as 160Mbit, and we reliably get ~150. Solid, no arguments from me. We've been with Virgin for about 10 years now; reliability has been decent, average of less than one significant (>1hr) incident per year, plus the odd few minor hiccups. Not had any customer service issues with changing services / moving home; tech support has been a bit iffy but got there in the end.

Shocking, been on 200mbps broadband package now for 5 weeks and in that time I've only had 12 hours of consistently fast(200mbps) broadband, at all other times I've been getting 20-50 Mbps.. I've been supplied with 3 super hubs, had 7 engineer visits and have made countless number of calls and still virgin have not sorted the problem, they just want to send more engineers who come and say no problems my end, only on the phone they say no problems there end so it goes round in circle.
They say they won't refund the upfront payment I made for a service I'm not getting because it's outside the 14 cooling off period (funny that, all this they've been stalling me by telling me they'll send an engineer out to fix the problem) however, they have agreed to kindly waive the £250 disconnection fee

Avoid at all costs!
Worst customer service ever.
Their staff had a xenophobic attack on me when I rang to request a transfer of my account to my new address. I asked if she could do earlier dates and she kept lecturing me that ''That's how we do things in London''.
In another occasion they rang me at 9pm to threaten me that I should ''check my account and see what's gonna happen to it'', simply because I was late on a payment due to a bank issue.
I've been a customer since 2013 and when I requested a transfer of my account to a new address, they wouldn't send the technician till 2 weeks later. When I suggested I wanted to cancel my membership they threatened to charge me an early cancellation fee of 160 pounds even though it was their fault. They wanted to make me pay more money than I did before I transferred my account and they wanted to blame me for it. Disgusting service.
