    Unparalleled quality from the 80s.

The broadband speed is pretty good but the router is absolute garbage and only covers the ground floor of my house so the devices that use the internet (which all happen to be upstairs) receive next to no reliable connection making watching videos, playing games and listening to music next to pointless because I have to watch videos in 144p, can only play single player games and music has to buffer every five seconds.

When you actually can connect to the bloody router the speeds are good, but what's the point if you're restricted to the same room as your router?

My old AOL router from the mid 00s was better.

Forever having issues after issues after issues with virgin media. We have random days where the WiFi doesn’t work at all and during the night it barely ever works. Inconvenience after inconvenience to the extent I have to go use WiFi at others some days.
When it is working, it works completely fine but the inconveniences that come with it, it’s not worth it at alll
Customer service takes very long to get through.
I would highly not recommend getting virgin installed.

I upgraded from 50meg to 350meg and found no difference in speed, the only thing that changed was the amount I paid each month. I used the online chat to report faults several times to be told there are no faults, I eventually rang to cancel the account to be told the speed being delivered was no where near 350meg, I’ll be with sky from now on

When the internet’s actually working it’s pretty good but every 2 days or so something breaks on their end and it takes at least 3 hours of no internet to fix. Always says an engineer is on the way but I’m starting to think there are no engineers because every 2 days it’s breaking. They really need to sort their issues out

Just been woken up at 02.30 for an automated cretin voice to tell me that I have reached my limit on data.
This seems to be a new, UNWANTED, addition to Virgins service.
I have a son working in central Poland, a granddaughter in Australia so what do you think the obvious conclusion is?
Last twice I have attempted to get something done by their Customer Service, I have had to ask time and again for the agent to repeat what she is saying as her accented that almost everything is unintelligible to me. Last time, after almost an hour, nothing was resolved.
Been a customer since the very beginning, but fast losing patience.

Bought full Broadband TV package because former BT was too slow and cost escalating. TV package (basic) is good although we have notice transmission breaks of a few seconds on occasions. Broadband - initial problems with speed because router was not in same room as PC (steel ceiling joist caused 'Faraday Cage' affect) - solved by elec ring main 'Power line' extension. Rating reflects initial speed. Email page is not as user friendly as previous BT

I got great service in the St Helens Store when I signed up for a Big Kahuna package. The guy went through everything with me and matched big to this package he was very knowledgable and even when I got installed the engineer was great to. Very happy with my 152mb broadband. Great quality product. If you are looking to sign up I highly recommend going into this store or contacting them on 017447393939.

I've been a customer of Virgin for many years on an M200 plan but getting no where near it. Latest Speed test from Virgin..Download 37.63 Upload 20.75.
Yet paying for fastest plan, been like this on and off for days. Seems like you get the true speed for a while when a new customer and then dropped to a rubbish rate when they have your monthly payment.

Shocking !!! I changed to virgin on the understanding it was The best provider the worst mistake ever I was paying £7.99 per month for 10 Mb from my former provider I am now paying £32 a month for sometimes 3 it might rise on occasions to 20 if I'm lucky .I have rang an incredible amount of times to get it is a technical fault I'm sorry that doesn't wash with me anymore being fobbed off the money in also spending on phone calls yet they still take their full payment disgusting i must say on the first initial phone call they deducted part of my monthly bill on the understanding it will be fixed it never has. Does any body recommend a better provider as Virgin is not living upto their expectations what so ever

    Rubbish.
I had to wait 32 mins on hold before giving up and hanging up.
We are having to reset our router on a daily basis.
Every time I try to call Virgin, I'm put on hold, no doubt to generate some income before their server spits the number out to call operative.
I thought I was getting good service and a good deal with Virgin. Not any more. They are good arousing their new services and getting new customers inboard but they fail miserably at looking after the ones who have been eithem a number of years.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I'm going to go on line and find a better deal.

So bad Ive spoken with around 15 team member from Virgin media who still did not resolve the problem intact made the problem.so much worse for myself. According to my app status I had a bug from 17th Nov until 25th Nov and another bug which would be completed on the 1St December Dec. Also I paid my bill in October to find out in November my £18.00 a month Virgin broadband is now £60.06 no one at Virgin media the 15 employees at Virgin media including customer service team, collections team or the payments team could not explain why my bill was so much. The excuse I received was I had to pay my bill because I've been cut of at the mid of November due to no payment but Virgin media just happened to have forgotten about the cheque amount of £35.88 approx which Virgin media received on the 23 october I sent with a covering letter asking for my account to be credit to my account as this simple job was not completed my services have been restricted. Also my Virgin media expries on 1st Dec and Virgin media took.it upon them self's to sign me up to another contract without my authorisation and without my knowledge. I have spend all year ensuring my bills get paid and to not affect my credit with default due to Virgin media incompetence and very rude member especially phillippines. I am escalating this issue in writing as a formal complaint.thank you for a bad week

10 different people I was put through to, just to cancel my broadband and at the end one I just put the phone down because I had been on the phone 3hours! I will just cancel my direct debit tomorrow and write a letter to wherever because your trapped and there is no getting out.

Poor customer service. Don't listen to the customer and treat them like idiots. Blame the lack of wifi speeds on
    1. using an ipad
    2. an iphone
    3. central heating
    4. air temperature
    5. Size of house

Even when stood next the virgin router, I was getting 1mbps and paid for 100mbps. Always tested alright at virgins end, but nobody ever same out to investigate the fault!

The reliability is dismal. Their service level agreement is a con as it states 24 hours. However, the 24 hours are working hours so they mean three days.

The worst customer service ever no one know how the company work. Every time had receive totally different information wouldn't be able to update a address correctly where I said like to a baby that house number is three zero not thirteen. Arrogant and unhelpful people do not even mention that they put price inc-raise every 3 months and from the contract for £36.00 after a year it come to £52.00

So many problems with them, first they charge me for something I never been use. My land line was broken so I can’t use it , but I found out about it after couple of months. Always used mobile phone for calls so actually not need land line but that time it was the cheapest option for broadband so I chose it. I talked with service they send 2 x engineers and I get new connections from box to my house. Then I asked for getting my money back for land line calls, coz someone been connected to my line. My mistake was to not check direct debit payments coz I truly believe thats situation not exists to be connected to someone box!! Very big mistake from my side! And Up till now I still waiting for my money back!! I don’t remember with how many people I was talked but only today it was 6 persons and 3 hours on the phone!!! I have all proves they collect money each month instead taken it from my extra credit for mistaking charges! So I hold on payments and what’s happened?? They disconnected my box! Worse service ever I had in my life... thats my scores for big and strong company Virgin media! I want give a 0 points but is no option for it!! Terrible. Now is no point to take broadband coz soon we get 5g speed on phones don’t need anymore land line with unlimited share, you can do whatever you want!

As previous reviewers have said,if it was possible to give no stars I would.
Customer service is very poor where you get different answers for the same problem, dependant on which adviser answers your call.
When you call back to confirm the package that you were advised about, they deny any knowledge of the offer and deny the person you spoke to even exists.
If you are pleased with the advisors advice, and you tell them so,you will receive a customer survey email asking what you thought of the service given. Obviously when you tell them you're not pleased,(in my case the majority of the time), then you won't receive an email from them.
Customer loyalty means absolutely nothing to them, I've been with them since they were telewest. When we told them we were going to leave them, rather than trying to make us stay,in an instant they told us the date they would remove our service.
Overall they are the worst company I have ever dealt with and would advise anyone against signing up with them.

Horrible service overall. For the first Briodbandbis nowhere near what it was promised. In general whole company is full of promises which they can’t keep. Convinced me to move over with a deal which wasn’t noted in my account. Apparently now it’s my responsibility to have a proof of the conversation. Lame Virgin employee wasn’t good enough to do his job to make sure everything is documented but took my bank details like a champ. Story short I ended up with year long contract for full price which is more what I was paying with other provider. Thanks Virgin Media.

Why can't I give 0/5 for the reliability? I've been to many countries in my life, the UK is pretending to be a developed country but the level of incompetency in so many ways is just ridiculously huge. Virgin updated my broadband to 70MB from 50 "for free" and then they raised my monthly pay from £37 in January to £42 in November and to £46 in January again. Now they throttle my speed every evening, literally every day. Can't even chill with my favourite game and when I complain, they say: Have you considered to upgrade to Gamer Package 200MB? I mean, Are you for real idiots? This excuse for a broadband should be swiftly erased from the face of the earth. They try to tell you they don't throttle your speed, they LIE!!!

LIARS! Went (brifly) onto the TV package - they lied about Amazon Prime being on it. Then shut down the TV part and they tried to charge me #20 to remove this plus the cost of the box. Raised a complaint and tried to cut down speed to 50mb but they have failed to call back for the past 6 weeks, they even closed off one complaint without speaking to me! Customer service is awful, i am trying to get a transcript of conversations at present to take them to the ombudsman and OFT as they lied at least 4 times over the phone. My favourite was 'we don't offer 50mb anymore', something i could purchse from new for cheaper today from Virgin if i so wished. Avoid!!!!!

I was happy until I got many hour outages for two consecutive days and needed to move house only to find that I couldn't get Virgin at the new place. They want me to pay £240 for early disconnection when I cannot physically do anything about it. Spent 4 hours and a half trying to find anyone reasonable there but I'm giving up. Never getting internet with them again

I was due to have my broadband installed at 1 p.m. today only to be told the installer had not been left a connection and was unable to do it. Since then i have spent the last 5 Hours making phone calls and being promised call backs that don't come, you get pushed from one person to the next and asked your details over and over again with not one of them being capable of giving an answer, I never leave reviews but feel on this occasion I had to share how bad this company is, in the last phone call i asked 6 people to put me through to the complaints department without ever getting there.I had cancelled my previous provider from today so I am now left with no internet my previous provider has told me it will take 2 weeks to reinstate the service so thank you very much. I will not be using virgin media now or ever in the future.

Worst company ever, my advice go with anyone but virgin, really expensive customer service is the worst on the planet. Internet speed is slower than my mobile data. And they couldn't care less. Avoid!!!!!!

Don't get Virgin if you think you may move. I moved into an area they did not cover and they hit me with a huge cancellation fee despite the move team saying this would be waived as I had only 3 months left...and they got the equip back in perfect condition. Thier customer service was horrible about it and even asked me to justify why I moved! Felt they just wanted every last drop...sadly for them they will get a few quid but lose out on the £30k or so I will send over the next couple decades and I have a great story to tell when the subject comes up.

A lots of marketing for this company with no purpose!!
Made contract with them and already in the first month booked 2 services because they can’t fix the issue. Took 80£ for the contract and services and now I’m waiting to do my paperwork with no internet till next week when of course another engineer is available. Please be carefull with what you chose looks they don’t have any issues with the direct debits but they have issue with theirs services. Such a putty for the money that are investing in marketing fooling the people’s eyes

I recently became a tenant at a property which already had Virgin Media. As I required access to broadband fairly sharpish, I decided to stick with Virgin and started a 12 month contract for up to 100MB. The thing is, the speed never goes above 45MB. In the first month the broadband was great (albeit slow) but as we have now entered month two, it is very poor. Why am I paying for something I am not receiving? If it's due to the area I am in, a material fact, why not just tell me I won't be getting anything above 45MB speed and therefore to go for the 50MB package... I'd recommend you do your homework before installing Virgin. The all singing, all dancing as per the ads does not exist.

Absolutely terrible service. I have the mega pack and the internet speed sucks. Please avoid Virginmedia broadband at any cost unless you are foolish.

I signed up with Virgin media after disappointing service with another company 18 months ago. I signed up for 30MB fibre optic including TV and phone. The internet work to satisfactory for the first couple of days after that it was lots of drop and very high ping. I call customer service several times and most times the could hel resolve the problem. I think the only time I got a true 30 meg connectio is the first day when the engineer installed the system and he was showing me the connection speed. Makes me think. Did they just boost the signal for that time to make u feel u r getting what u pay for. Anyway I know u wont get 30m3g on a 30 meg connection allthe time but my connection spee for the last 4 mounts is roughly 1mb ot 1.5 mb download and 0mb to 0.9mb upload speed. Is that ....... ridiculous since I am paying without fail every month for the service. Is there someone I can complain to about virgin media? This is a total rip off. Which intrnet company take 6 months to solve speed problems. But if you don't pay for the service you get extra charge but yet no one is holding virgin media to account for ripping of normal domestic customers.

I want to know what virgin media has to say. I am seriously considering suing them.
