NEVER GET SKY INTERNET!! The broadband service is horrifying and drops constantly to which the self heal prompt doesn’t do sh1t! Call customer service 7 times through which they wouldn’t even book me an appointment with an engineer and after that just didn’t respond to my calls. Never ever get sky, biggest ripoff and lies in my life!

Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Miscalculated our go live date 3 times and had to wait 3 weeks for a connection as there wasn't an updated line in the building (a regular problem with sky). Had to cancel online work and interviews because we weren't notified until the evening of the go live day. Promised us a refund of £8 a day for every day without broadband and then charged us for installation and first months wifi (£40 should have been £22 or 0) and have put extra charges on our next bill for changing our package which has not occurred in anyway. Massively regret going with them and should have gone with Now Broadband or stuck with Post Office. Adverts saying 'super reliable' are complete rubbish. Can foresee further issues arising in future will probably have to switch providers.

I have been a customer with sky on/off for around 14 years(since 2006). They were one of the first providers to take advantage of the LLU which Ofcom forced BT into. At the time they offered the best price for the speed. They provided a decent router(it is still worth a few bob). In those days I had a fairly good experience, I then left for O2, only for them to be brought out by Sky and having to move onto the FTTC service at a very good price back in 2013. I think after 2 years I moved away before returning to them at the backend of 2019. My past experience is was largely very good, they were responsive and the speeds and reliability were good.
The current service I have with them is the upto 80mbps. Speedwise it is pretty poor at the moment, currently synced at 34mbps when the line had been running at 60mbps in the years between 2013 and 2016. Of course this isn't really sky's fault more openreach and most the troubles have started with the rollout of FTTP. Despite the increase in WFH the connection has been OK and not caused me to many issues. I have even come to realise that 30mbps is actually more than enough, if anything upload is way more important to me.
Another positive about sky is the lack of real traffic shaping and traffic control. During a short stint with SSE(daisy networks) I found lots of ports blocked and a range of controls. Nothing of the sort with Sky. While Sync speed to the exchange is an issue, their actual network performs very well, they appear to have lots of capacity on their backbone and I have always achieved download speeds at sync speed(uploading server permitting).
Over the years support has been pretty good to be fair, the call wait times are not too bad compared to other suppliers. In the early days they were reluctant to send out BT engineers when there were faults however in recent years they have been a lot better. For my speed issue, without contacting them they did send an engineer out, by surprise may I add. They did resolve the speed issue at the time however after a few weeks the line has begun to deteriorate again. Nothing has been done as of yet and neither have I contacted them.
I have always been a TV customer with sky therefore I have benefited from very good prices compared to the rest of the market. I found the best deal ever was offered to me by them directly for FTTC back in 2013 at a lower price than ADSL2+ at the time, which was market leading. For the overall service I dont think many suppliers can actually beat them.

I put 1 star because I could choose to put 0. This is the worst customer service ever. They never answer your phone calls and always redirect you to the online help website which is not helpful at all!
Out of 9 customer service phone numbers I have called, NONE have been able to help me. They say the broadband is supposed to be activated in 14 days. But they have delayed the activation by 2 days 3 times now. I can't talk to anyone to understand why they are delaying and worst of all they don't even tell me the activation day has been delayed. I didn't even get my Wi-Fi connection that I will have to cancel my account. SKY is the worst company I have been a customer to. The customer service is nonexistent and the broadband service has NEVER worked!!!!

Absolute garbage. I have had broadband issues for 6 months and Sky cannot find or fix the problem, but they can if I buy their guaranteed 56mb speed or whatever! Now they don't even answer the phone, they sms you a link to their website where you are basically expected to somehow fix the issue yourself!!!! DO NOT BUY BROADBAND FROM SKY!!!!

I am finally coming to end of the most horrendous 18 month experience I have ever had with a company.
The broadband speed an unreliability is absolutely awful. I have mad over 30 calls to sky (almost twice a month on average) and while the customer support is pleasant, the product itself is useless so customer support cant actually help. On top of the 30 calls, i have chatted, used twitter, sent emails and never got anywhere.
Unless you know 100% you have fibre to your premise do not get sky broadband... i have had days and days with out broadband at anyone time and the compensation i received was £2.65 - absolute joke and calling them tomorrow to finally cancel this awful contract is going to be amazing....

Shocking service...promised the earth by Sky so were persuaded to change from BT to Sky, BIG mistake. This was supposed to be a swift transition on 8th September...it is now the 28th September they have left us with no telephone or internet. The customer service don't give a hoot, how dare they say they understand - they don't care. Excuses after excuses

TERRIBLE. Never buy this internet. I have had this for over a year and it's been giving me non stop issues and problems. Studies are tough and when it takes 20-30 seconds to do a simple search it really angers you.

Possibly the worst internet connection EVER !! TOTAL waste of money , now having to move to BT so we can actually use WiFi .
The only decent thing about it is the tv packages but think again if you want to use multi room & a WiFi boost cause it won’t work ! First time customer & it took nearly 4 lengthily phone calls to have the charge for the boosters removed as it wasn’t providing the service we are paying for . I spoke to one lady who was incredible & made the changes instantly meaning the other people I spoke to just wanted to tip us off !
It’s made wfh absolutely impossible during a time when we have needed what we are paying for most !!

Absolutely awful. Router needs constant power recycling (a fault I had to self diagnose). Struggle to achieve an reasonable home working productivity due to poor broadband performance. Customer service is non-existant during COVID (I understand these are difficult times, but complete absence of customer support is not acceptable). Set me free with no exit penalty I will never darken your doorstep again Sky!

After an awful experience with Virgin in which I paid a lot of money for a truly poor service I moved to Sky, they had it in within a week, and Netflix doesn't buffer anymore, the signal doesn't drop, I have not had to reboot the box once. The only time we lost internet was once during a storm so file that under **** happens. The service is way better than Virgins and only a third of the price.

When it works it’s fast but when it’s slow it’s useless. I live close to the city centre and still the range is awful. At least 3-4 times a day the WiFi will just cut out. Can. Ever get through to sky to discuss issues.

It is ok but everyday my internet turns off for like 1-5 minutes then it starts again, but it doesn’t happen once a day it happens around 2-5 times a day which is annoying. Internet speed is poor. I bought 65-70 mbps but I usually get 20-50 mbps or maybe lower, I’m grateful for the decent internet but I pay a lot just to see my poor internet speed. Customer service is actually good to believe it. Once my internet went to around 5mbps and our average was meant to be 30mbps so we called customer service. They told us somethings and we got our internet working at a good internet speed. I would advice you to not get Sky if you have lots of people using devices at all times also if you work, play games, etc I would not advice you to get this internet because of the low speed you will get. If you’re saving money then buy this internet also if you’re patient or don’t really use your device I’d advice you to get it. There are much better broadbands then sky. Thank you for reading this!

I've been with Sky for three years and moved home with them once. In three years I had a few service drops but in general the service has been good and the speed is alright. They are available on the phone. I am happy I've had no issues with it working from home since March.

Ordered Sky Broadband for a Property I purchased. 3-4 days later I get an automatic text message and email stating that "I need to call them to discuss an issue with my order". Once I called and finally got through the horrible automated system that didn't want to transfer me as i'm "not at risk". One of their advisers told me that my order was not successful and I'd need to do it again and they couldn't switch it on on the date I was promised.
As I, like many others during this time, WFH this was extremely upsetting, inconvenient and meant that all my plans to move in have now been postponed.
No way to escalate to get it enabled quicker, just an overly apologetic customer service agent.
So logged a complaint, cancelled the order/service and gone elsewhere instead, they have lost me as a customer for good.

Terrible. I have been without any broadband for a month now. Sky sold me a G Fast upgrade but it never worked. In fact I was told by an Openreach engineer we were too far away and it sht never have been installed. We lost our original super fast connection and have been waiting four weeks now for it to be resolved. No urgency shown in resolving the issue. I don't think I ever received a proper apology either.

Awful reliability. Connection constantly drops. Virgin never gave me issues but they had poor channel selection for the price of a broadband and tv package. And Virgin creep up prices all the time. So tried Sky. Sky TV is great bu their broadband sucks.

Just don't EVER get Sky.
They are just the absolute WORST internet providers that I have ever encountered! I am a student and when I first moved into my first flat, they couldn't book us an installation for 3 weeks, so we simply had no wifi for the first 3 weeks of uni, which was absolutely ridiculous!
Then the installation guy was late and apparently 'missed us' even though there were two of us home!
Calling them up just did not work as the customer service was completely unhelpful.
Then, after we moved into a new flat, we needed another installation appointment so they scheduled us for 3 weeks later, which we were expecting this time so okay.
BUT! Then 5 days pass and we get a call saying that our appointment has been cancelled because there was a mix up with our address! Instead of calling or emailing to double check the address, they just cancelled the appointment completely without consulting us! Now our installation date has been moved back another 2 weeks and we wont have wifi for 5 weeks! This is absolute INSANITY and I can't BELIEVE that their customer service and operations are so poorly managed that they can get away with crazy stuff like this!
DEFINITELY AVOID AT ALLL COSTS!

I have been a sky customer for many years. I moved house 4 months ago , got set up and the engineer told me one of the boxes needs hardwiring . After 2 engineer visits I completely had had enough of sky . From customer services that don't log your problem correctly to the overall communication within the company . The download was that slow we couldn't even watch a 4 k program.Upon cancelling my broadband after explaining how appallingly I'd been treated , they weren't even bothered . They have also lost 4 mobile phone contracts as all of my household was going to switch to sky . I'm that angry with sky , the TV will also soon be going.

I've been with sky broadband for a few years now. The connection is very slow and they lied about how fast it would be - I've put up with that. The main problems are the lack of reliability and their complete lack of care for the customer.
Every few months the router stops working - the self-heal mechanism only mends it for five minutes or so. Each time I phone them up they do a test that solves the problem for another few months. I ask them if they will replace the router and they say they will if it happens again, but they never replace the router.
The pandemic has compounded things so that now I can't phone them up now its happened again. They do not seem to have any phone people working from home - probably because that would mean they may not follow their scripts and actually be helpful. The online repair does not work and they seem to expect me to carry on paying for a servive that does not work and they will not fix.
The UK compares very badly with other countries when it comes to internet services. This is because of money-grubbing corporations such as sky who do not care about their customers. As far as I can tell most of them are like that. I am changing providers even though I am not expecting anything much better. I do not recommend sky, stay away from them.

Can't wait to leave my current houseshare as it means I can finally ditch Sky broadband.
The wifi works ok-ish if you're sat right next to the router. Otherwise intermittent (even with router boosters). During Covid it has been absolutely terrible. Thankfully I don't need it for work because if I did I'd be stuffed. Just very annoying - currently trying to watch a youtube video on 144p which is pausing every 10 seconds.
If it crashes completely prepare to have no internet for 2 weeks, and to spend hours waiting on hold with Sky 'helpline'. Like my old dial-up connection in 2001. Shockingly abysmal. But Sky are raking it in from all their various activities so don't care.

Complete garbage. Have the essential package of 14 - 20mb because although being in the town centre next to the exchange fibre isn't available. Coincidentally i only receive the guaranteed minimum of 11mb. Can barley watch a youtube video and cant play games whilst being an avid gamer. No solution given when attempting to resolve and potentially upgrade, no help at all given to point me in the right direction. Genuinely the biggest piece of **** iv'e wasted money on.

When it works it's not bad. With mine, if I'm working on the computer and another member of the house hold use the broadband, the timelag for my computer is huge. The broadband also goes off/on daily for an average of a hour, especially during a working week, so while I work from home it gets quite annoying.

Paying for a supposedly guaranteed 60Mb. Not receiving over 25Mb. 4 engineer visits later, still the same. Trying to speak to someone from Sky virtually impossible. Wifi regularly fails, meaning working from home only possible by tethering to my 4G phone...

Would give 0 stars if possible. Just the most horrible customer service I have ever seen on earth. First, I couldn't even contact them properly due to Covid-19. My point is, if you are having troubles with lack of staff, simply don't book new customers in. It took me one month and a half and 3 engineers visits to get my internet set with Sky. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SET MY BROADBAND. After every failed visit I had to wait for 2 extra weeks since they informed me they were not able to contact Open Reach, which is RIDICULOUS of course. After the third visit that didn't work, I called them again and one of the attendees simply CANCEL MY ACCOUNT without I have asked for it. Actually, the lady was offering to cancel my account, and even though I said that I'd rather had the internet fixed, she cancel even though. I only got to know with an automatic e-mail that my order had been cancelled - but ironically this lady made me a big favour. Another thing Sky does is to send you automatic e-mails/ replies that has nothing to deal with what you have just discussed on the phone - which makes it really confusing. After my account has been cancelled, I immediately change to another supplier. Although, I still not have internet due to a fault on my line and I am aware it is a complicated issue, the new supplier is able to contact Open Reach many times, explain the situation and what the engineer has told me. Also, they are able to give me priority access since it is the 5th engineer visit already and it is a issue that concerns both companies. So my only advice would be never never never choose Sky, they are simply terrible.

utter appalling. Bought a WiFi booster to try and improve the reception but no different. They promised me 53mbps but when I go on comparison sites I'm lucky to be getting 22mbps. Rang Sky and they said not to trust the comparison sites!!!!!!!! Sky claim its the speed going into the house not the WiFi reception indoors, never heard such rubbish. If I move outside, which is 6 metres away from the router, I lose all signal and thats in a direct line from the router with no obstructions. Currently got 12 months of an 18 month contract to go so can't move yet. My sister-in-law is experiencing this problem. I would avoid these like the plague. Cannot wait to move provider. I rang to complain and because I do not pay them £5 per month wifi guarantee (they already get over £100 a month out of me) they won't entertain my complaint. Utter rubbish broadband provider

Getting 0.6 down and 7 up on a wired connection but the router is reporting 67meg down and my slow speeds might be due to peak times lol
