At first Sky was fantastic with great speeds actually exceeding my recommended bandwidth but within two weeks and several pointless phone calls later, Sky slowed down to worse than Dial up. I actually used my iPhone on EDGE which was faster at home, and am forced to write this review on it. Eventually after complaining to Sky about my diminishing speed I requested a MAC code only to find my connection terminate entirely despite the fact that I had not even opened my MAC address letter. I did not instruct cancellation, which they said they couldnt do until the contract was up anyway. Essentially Sky do not fulfill their contactual obligations to their customers and eventually in my case are charging me for a service ghat is totally inoperable. Rubbish!

I am now using my third router supplied by Sky. I am signed up to high speed fibre which should give me a speed of up to 34 mbps. Best I have had is 29 and the lowest recently 18.
I am tied in to an 18 month contract at half price, so at the moment it's not bad value. Basic Broadband was not good enough. When my contract terminates, I shall be looking elsewhere.
An Open Reach engineer called and after much time spent messing with meters etc.said as far as he was concerned 34 was coming to the house and the rest was not his problem.
Sky give lots of useless advice such as don't have the router near a mirror, a fish tank or in an old house with thick walls-none of which applies to me.
It would be nice to subscribe to a company which would send somebody into your house to advise and check. Sky don't.

The worst broadband ever I lost my internet connection at Least once a day for an hour and once a moth for several days to a week. Engineers didn't show up at agreed times customer service that made hollow promises and down right lied to me about what was agreed engineers came several hours early and then claimed that I wasn't in. Poor service I've cancels my subscription and transferred to a rilible service, will never get any off sky's services again

I never experienced the 10mbps speed or even near it dl speeds that is part of the contract, apparently the speed in our area average is atleast 400-600kbps (do the maths).. first month was dreadful as we got our connection cut off for 1 week.. there after connection was pretty much unstable.. the 1 star is for the customer service.. not the actual boradband service

We are really disappointed with sky broadband service. It is not reliable and got cut off. We were told all kinds of different things that was wrong with the broadband, but the cut off carries on with good or bad days. I will never use sky again.

I have been having some issues with my broadband for months now. On previous call was promised a call back which did not happen. My broadband now worse than ever. Phoned again and spoke with a very nice man being SCA58. He called back went promised, done all the checks and I'm nit having an engineer out in just 2 days. He has restored my faith on sky and such a pleasure to speak to and very thorough with alk that he done. This man certainly deserves recognition, and other advisers need to learn from him. Thankyou so much for all your help, you was an absaloute star.

I would highly advise not choosing sky if you are thinking of upgrading to a fibre optic connection. When it works it's great, but getting it to work is like trying to get blood from a stone. I signed up for 34mb fibre unlimited, I receive about 0.6mb. Totally useless 'Sky Heal' which is "designed to help you get reconnected" really what it does is tells you to make sure you have plugged in your router so unless your a total idiot it cant help you in any way. Cant play a computer console online, simply will not connect.

Do not touch Sky with a bargepole. They blocked my girlfriends mother's number so she could not call her; she was clearly using the so called 'unlimited call' package too much. I was paying for a service that these cowboys blocked and then said I couldnt cancel. I dont think so, im off to Virgin.

Its difficult to now where to start. I have a hearing disability to around 70% loss (I lost my hearing when I was three) so I don't do phone that well. When I originally joined Sky I was promised face to face at one of there sales hubs and promised they would help translate with there tech services an tech problems I had. Once I signed I was told not to contact any face to face Sky personal and ring instead. This causes me no end of problems as I don't do phones. 2 years ago I had a buzzing on my phone which was not sorted because it seems they don't like a loud deaf person on the phone.
This week my broadband kept dropping off and now it seems I have annoyed customer services again by being unproductive when I call and they will only do troubleshooting via email now. 5 hours and over 30 emails and they could not even sort out which type of phone socket I have and they call me unproductive in my conversations. Now they want to send out an engineer to tell them the type of phone socket I have. Sky has informed me that there will be no verbal by phone conversation as the calls were unproductive. What do they expect when they insist I speak on the phone. I have gone through 10 troubleshooting scenarios each one the same and nothing happens. Even if I did not have a hearing disability I would still say avoid this company like the plague.
Why do top end telecommunication companies feel the need to supply abysmal, pathetic and abusive customer services. I wonder why Ofcom alow this situation to go on.

I signed up for a download speed of 8mb. I had a new phone line fitted and was expecting a download speed of aprox 6.5mb. All I get is an average speed of 0.45mb !!!! All sky say is that between the hours of 5pm and midnight the speed will be a lot lower than is expected, but this download speed is the same no matter what time of day I check! They have no interest in this fact and my pay as you go three dongle is faster than the speed from sky !!!! I'm now locked into paying for a download speed of 8mb when in reality its less than 1 !!!!!! should have just stayed with the dongle !!

AWFUL SERVICE YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE. I'm normally nice but I could honestly kill someone I'm so angry and upset. It's like talking to a brick wall. They also won't accept a hand written signed letter as confirmation of termination so still had to go through it all again 9 months I've tried to cancel

Absolutely shocking! Stay well clear of sky when it comes to broadband. We went with sky for a deal on our Internet, TV and phone. The latter two we have no issues with. The broadband however is an absolute joke! We were with Virgin who were absolutely fine and gave good service. We are returning to them as of today. The connection to sky is more off than ever on, slow and does not even reach our 2nd floor, when the box is only on the first floor. Try to go on the Internet past 10.30pm you have no chance, it's like it's closing time in the Sky office and they flick the broadband switch off till 9am the following morning. It is so fustrating and at times stressful, when waiting for pages to load or a little bit of signal to come back when you've been sitting there for an 1hr just hoping for the loading page to load! Please take my advice and stay well away from Sky!!

New customer but have just cancelled. Have waited over 5 weeks to have WiFi installed and it’s STILL not activated. My patience has just run out so have switched to another provider. Customer service is rubbish! I have made constant phone calls to Sky but they keep making excuses for not activating the WiFi ie. blaming other departments. Don’t choose this provider as Sky are useless in my opinion.

By far the worst broadband i have ever had. Drops out once every 5mins cant handle more than 1 device, have to be in the same room as the router, support consists of none technical people, clueless about broadband telling you to restart your router. Best thing about sky is theres a 30 day cancelation period which i took full advantage of. Stay well clear of sky broadband!

We have been a SKY TV and Broadband customers, for >15 years. The SKY TV is in my wife's name, and the SKY Broadband and telephone is in my name, because I needed to claim it as a business expense. Since I retired, SKY say that they cannot combine the two accounts. And that is all I ever get from SKY; what they can't do.
I'm currently researching an alternative provider, but it would appears that there aren't any good ones, especially subsequently providing an acceptable Customer Service.
Every pound that we pay SKY, has to be perfect, and worth 100p. But they don't seem to be prepared to provide anywhere near a 100% service.

Everything is terrible. Fibre broadband speed never got above 5Mbps (five) always noise on phone line. Customer service are rude, arrogant and it’s never their fault. When I left them I got letters in for addresses in England (never lived in England) demanding I pay someone else’s bill. Would never ever recommend them to anyone. I would go without if I had the choice of sky tv or nothing.

Worst broadband service ever. Crash after crash after crash. Constantly. It also doesn't crash when you are not using it either. It crashes on the worst times ever. Just leaving it on and it works. Do something important and it goes out for any time between 1 minute to over 24 hours. Customer services do next to no help. It is extremely slow and barely even loads up some webpages. Used sky before and then went to BT due to a move. Moved again and went to Sky and in 10 years it hasn't gotten any better at all. Even the router looks the exact way from 10 years ago. I'm not surprised if it is the same router from 10 years ago considering apart from Tesco's broadband and mobile phone hotspots it is the slowest in the area. Max of 5 MB/s Down speed while the rest get up to 35 MB/s Down speed. No sense made what so ever. Do not waste your money on something that will work against you for as long as you have it. Almost anything is faster than it and will work 100 times more then Sky ever has. I give up with it. First chance i get it is gone. It is useless. Almost never works making using the internet almost impossible. 0/10. Awful.

Fibre service is not as fast as advertised. Service is very inconsistent and sky routers notoriously bad for signal and interference.
Since moved to a different provider, supposedly the same spec as sky broadband, but way faster and never once disconnected yet.

My opinion, Sky are using their name to push an amateur and decidedly rubbish internet service.
    Will not be back. Ever..

I have just switched from Vodafone to Sky and the service has been terrible. The switch is going to take at least 4 days and I have no internet during this time... The sky rep told me it would only take mins to switch.

I have called them 4 times and haven't even had an apology. I would advise anyone to go anywhere but sky for their internet.

You can't even complain through sky. I have to from Friday to at least Monday and they can't say if it will be up
    And running by then????

Absolute worst internet provider ever created. I don't know how they are still in the business. If you can even get onto the internet then you'll find a website, or even a whole popular IOS browser is blocked. Not only that, but you have to pay to get the browser, which means you're paying for a digital paperweight! How fast is it? Slow. Really slow. It's 2015 and I can;t even properly watch a Youtube video in 720p. Every single multiplayer game has poor connection. It's not my computer either. But you can't take responsibility in your own problems so obviously, according to you, it's my fault. It's my fault that you can't deliver internet to my house or even be asked to update the router which is literally the same model router that I remember having in around 2005! That's 10 years ago and you're still shipping your customers with the same flimsy bit of unattractive plastic that has a few flashy green lights on it?! If you're even considering of getting Sky, please don't. You'll regret it. I'll regret it. Every other miserable Sky customer will regret it. They don't deserve to take your money and 'give' you a service you never receive! Surely, in this day and age you can give me a download speed over 1Mb/s! I could probably walk over to the guy who made the webpage, get the information I was looking for and come back before the information had actually downloaded. It's ridiculous. Someone spends money on your internet because they, believe it or not need it to do anything now. Instead, all they are left in return is a waste of space and a bigger bill to pay, still facing the same problems that they faced before. I don't even know what to say. Believe in better, with another internet provider which actually provides internet. Sky's cloudy. Chances of slow internet speed with areas which will get internet down time. Lets get some things straight. BT supply good TV and Internet and phone. Virgin Media supply all sorts of things. Sky supplies a bad TV service, awful internet, bad phone, bad customer service with bad attitudes and low GCSE grades. They may sound nice on the phone but that's just part of their job. It doesn't mean they are nice. And a clear example of that very thing is shown here. With Sky Broadband.

You will have no end to problems with sky. First, they tell us we can't have super fast in our new home so they give us essentials. That's between 0.014mbps to 1.2mbps for a week. We ring and complain and they say they can actually give us super fast so we upgrade. Queue to upgrade day. Whatever the engineer did, he didn't upgrade. Now we have no internet at all. This is a complete mockery. I have presentations and projects to research and deliver and can't because sky are just bad.

Awful, I would not recommend sky boradband to anyone. I'm sat here with my dad and his internet is supposed to be 30 mbps, at the moment it is 0.6mbps. He has been sat on the phone all morning to try and speak to someone and the award winning customer services have hung up on him 3 times already! That is definitely not customer first! It has been like this for a while, and he insists he was in touch last week about this, but still no change. Taking advantage of an elderly gentleman, and literally non existant customer service, this is not the kind of company I want to pay. It is turning into a joke - at least its not as bad as sky broadband LOL! It really is very bad, I would recommend anything other than sky broadband.
