Quite possibly the worst broadband provider in the uk. Slow speeds, unreliable connection and the cancellation process is a joke. Everyone knows that any cancellation must be in writing; with Sky you have to write to them and then PHONE them afterwards to cancel.
Stay well away!

I wouldn’t blame the customer service agents because they try to do their best to help. It’s the company itself that is rubbish. They increase their prices in the middle of the year and instead of reducing their issues, they stop their services completely (like today). Just check the “Down” website to see the reports!! Been paying for 40Mb/s and getting 2Mp/s. Such a joke! Can’t wait for to get out of this contract.

One word sums it up. Awful. So unreliable and it constantly freezes. We pay for ultra fast and it’s struggling to manage 1mb of speed. STAY AWAY!

Whenever we switched from virgin, sky has been sucking huge ones. Speed - i don't understand how in 2021 we are allowed to have 60Mbps. Provided router - useless piece of electronic waste. Constant broadband drops, throttles and just poor connectivity. Do yourself a favour and pass on Sky.

We joined Sky in January 2021 and left in May 2021 after we had a nightmare broadband, landline and customer service from them. It started with overbilling. We signed up to a promo deal run through their 3rd party partner, Curry's and we got billed higher by Sky until we produced evidence of an email confirming our original deal. It spiralled downwards from there. We got thrown out of Zoom, Skype and other virtual meetings, we experienced consistent freezing and slow speeds at least 6 times daily and at weekends when most people aren't working. Yet, the customer service was a shambles. In my experience, I've never experienced anything as woeful as Sky customer services. The only thing I can say is that their staff are possibly overwhelmed by the mountain of complaints they get that the poor guys can't handle much more. But that's me just finding an excuse for them. Funnily enough, sometimes the staff also experience disruption in their Sky broadband services as most work from home. This happened twice when customer service calls were abruptly terminated and the staff concerned came back and apologised by leaving voice messages. What a disaster! When we finally decided to move, they cut off our broadband and landline services immediately and our landline number which we've had for over 20 years was terminated without allowing us to keep our number which we've had for over 20 years. This was devastating for us as all our families worldwide have always relied on calling us on that number. We also use the number for business as I am self-employed and work from home. We will not rest until we get our number back or take it all the way legally if we don't get a satisfactory solution from Sky. They have caused us great aggravation in only 5 months. They are the pits as far as customer care goes. Why Ofcom hasn't intervened and banned Sky from providing broadband services is beyond me. Also, why can't we score them a zero on this platform? My advice to anyone looking for a broadband provider is to steer well clear of Sky.

Do not switch to Sky.. what was a simple phone and broadband switch from EE has now caused my parents to have no phone or broadband for nearly 4 weeks.. Sky Cust Serv shocking, promised call backs fail, promised service restoration time frame fail.. they just don’t care.. not able to speak to team dealing with it, will not put you through to manager.. anyone with vulnerable people using online hospital, working from home etc.. think twice!!

Someone clearly isn't doing their job right with Sky Broadband, our family have been Sky Broadband customers since they started providing it, they used to be one of the top broadband providers out there, but in the recent years, it's really been lacking in reliability... It cuts off every 10-15 minutes consistently, every day. And they will straight up tell you there is nothing wrong with their service, although there's clear evidence stating otherwise within the customer reviews, almost all stating the same issue... You'd expect Sky to have a great stability in their broadband with all of the money they rake in from their customer subscriptions, they're sat on £18.75 Billion as of last year. If you ask me, at this moment in time, do not pay for Sky Broadband for any circumstance as it is too unreliable, especially if you spend a lot of your time competitive gaming, because we all know bad internet really ticks off a gamer. If you ask me, their service has become beyond a joke. But with that much money sitting in their pockets, you would honestly expect a much more reliable service. The internet speed is not my main complaint or concern, but the ability to maintain the connection just isn't there. They either need to fix their crap, or some people need to be laid off and replaced, because I've tried every single piece of advice that they've provided and yet there is still no positive result, as a matter of fact, it cut out whilst typing this review. Like... What are we customers actually paying for? All we want is for Sky to fix their damn broadband.
Thanks Sky Broadband, you're doing fantastic! <--- (At scamming the hell out of people)

Waited 8 days for engineer to install internet
Waited all afternoon for him to come
Then had to call Sky myself to arrange second appointment
And need to wait another 8 days!!!
And the automated customer service robot doesn’t understand anything!

I wish I could give minus stars... My broadband was meant to be set up 24th March. It took them good couple weeks after the date to announce that they can’t complete my order and it’s getting canceled. My option - to create another order with installation date 3 weeks away. Open reach was blamed, however no communication or explanation came from Sky either. Person I spoke to said he will take it under his control. And second person as well... Guess what? The date came and went. Couple weeks later, yet again, I received a message that my order cannot be completed and I need to call. When I did, the person on the phone said my order is getting canceled and we need to place another one. Yet again. I said I want to escalate as it’s getting ridiculous. No explanation why this is happening either. Got a call (eventually) from escalation team. Was offered to place another order with installation date another 3 weeks away )))) Decided I've had enough of them and not going to wait any longer only to be told again that they cannot complete my order and have to cancel it. With no explanation. Obviously, no internet affected my whole household including children. But do they care? Of cause not. Attention of trading standards is necessary, as Sky have no idea about what customer service is and do not keep their promises leaving customer waiting for nothing for months. The third date for the order would’ve been 28th May. How unprofessional...

Absolutely horrid company, had sky in my previous home and the speed would drop during the day or totally cut out. Move to my new home and get sky again for the cheapest deal, pay for a new router and internet deal. Only AFTER payment and being told that everything was ready to go ahead and connect, was I told that it could take between 1-2 weeks for sky to reach my home and have the line set up. Disgusting company

By far the worst wifi I have ever used in my entire life. The wifi won’t even reach throughout my whole house, it won’t even reach to my room which is less than 10 metres away from the wifi box. I have lost count of the amount of times my household asked customer service for help and to fix the problem, every time they come over and say they’ve fixed it, but actually haven’t because I don’t see a single difference with the poor connection. Would never recommend this broadband to anyone.

I made the big mistake of switching from hyperoptic to Sky for my broadband. I've had nothing but troubles since. Constant outages and unreliable internet. When asking for an engineer to take a look, the wait time was more than one week i.e. I had no/poor internet for a week while working from home. Would not recommend Sky at all.

Absolute sxxte. Most days it goes off 2-3 times but when working from home or doing work over the weekend it's pretty much on and off all through the day or stays off for a good while. Seems to be a habit or trend in the system.

Try to avoid this company. I contract £27/month speed broadband and they spend 20 days in activate the internet, then a technician should be no exist because you must do everything by yourself with only some instructions so, obviously, before 20 days the internet connection didn’t work. Also, they charged a tax for “super fast activation fee”. Are you kidding me???? Really, DON’T TRUST IN SKY!!!!

Sky broadband is atrocious on every single level. It cuts out frequently, the download speeds are positively glacial and the customer service is non-existent. Waiting 20 minutes to be put through to someone on their service team while being told the quickest way to resolve an issue is online is a sure fire way to infuriate your existing customers. I look forward to the day when I am free of this lamentable service. If there was a way to leave negative stars I would.

If I could give zero stars for reliability I would. Drop outs more common than a liberal arts college. I can't realistically use my internet connection for games because I will disconnect half way through every time. Streaming services are a no go either. Disastrous waste of time and money and I'd never go with them again.

Shockingly bad. Signed up for 25mb and regularly get less than 2mb. Just ran a speed test and it came back at 1.8mb. Made the mistake of moving from Virgin at a stable 40mb, just waiting to cancel Sky when contract ends and go back to Virgin. The minimum speed guarantee is at 2mb, which is a complete joke and we didn't realise until it was too late. How are they allowed to set 2mb on a 25mb deal?? Surely it should be at least 50% of what they advertise? Jokers!!

If only their products were as good as their customer service. I cant even watch anything in HD it will lag or freeze, for a modern day broadband company wth is this? When contacted Sky about it, they said apparently I'm on the lowest broadband package and it was not fibre, what a poor excuse as this is the broadband they advertise to be 'super fast broadband' that comes with the tv package. Never the less I upgraded, now I am paying a lot more and on fibre, my internet speed is 0.49mbps download speed and I am in a brand new 18 months contract. They made me go into a new contract paying a lot more than the previous one only for it to go up to 0.49mbps download speed? & I still cannot watch anything in HD. How can they do this to their customers is beyond me.

Dreadful. We spend a fortune monthly and have no value for money. Wifi is patchy and we frequently spend hours a week unplugging and resetting routers/Q boxes trying to get a better signal. We are supposed to get 80MBs but routinely get 1.4MBs. When we ring up, we are told that its because we have too many devices. This is the 21st century - everyone is working from home and everyone has a couple of laptops, mobiles, nest and X boxes. If these cant be supported in the current world, then it isnt fit for purpose.

Sky made a total mess of my house move which was already stressful enough as it is.
Had almost 2 weeks of no broadband and on the day they said it would go live it still doesn't. No text, email or call to say why so I had to go out my way to contact them only to find out it's delayed further.
They offered me a few pounds in compensation and would not budge on anything. Terrible service, I'm furious and now switching provider for TV and Broadband.

Sky FTTP is a joke my ping is worse than my old FTTC line I thought it was supposed to be better than FFTC. It is terrible with SKY. My landline keeps disconnecting the new router resets on its own. They say 55 ping is well within their parameters for FTTP When my FTTC connection was about 20 ping. Steer clear Sky have gone majorly downhill!

Customer service was amazing everything was easy to understand and set up even during covid pandemic.
However, the Wi-Fi goes down every night without fail, for at least 5 - 10 minutes, sometimes can be down for up to 45 minuets.
On top of that the download speed is dreadful, we receive a speed of less than 1 mbps all day long! this makes using any steaming services almost pointless. We've currently been with sky for 2 weeks and already have BT booked to come and install some actual Wi-Fi.
