The worst Customer Service I have experienced in my whole life. To get my phone unblocked I had to try to call them 6 times. After making me wait 1 hour for my call to be taken by an operator, the line fell so I had to call again. Not to mention that I could not use my phone for over 2 weeks now.
For a £40 monthly fee, I was not even able to use my phone after a reasonable time. Not to mention that in the EE store (I tried the one on Strand), you must be lucky to find an operator willing to help at all. I had to go back during another shift to find one who called once again for me.

We recently moved in to a new house, we asked EE to set up the line and install BB and they were more than happy to oblige. This was in early august, by the end of August we had to phone them to track our order only to get a very short reply of it is being sorted and you have your box so please wait another few days. Weeks this but still nothing.
We waited another three weeks and still nothing. I phoned them again and by the way you generally are on hold for about 40mins at best or worst three hours , I plan my day around this and carry on as normal..
So by this time we were annoyed at best. The kind lady said to us that we should have had a call to tell us about a problem with the line. They did nothing of the sort. She proceeded in telling us that we would have our line by the end of September.... I replied with this is unacceptable but there was no way of changing this.
Stupidly we waited for this magical date when our internet and line would be live with baited breath, it did not materialise . On the 28th September. Full month since my last call they told us that there had been a delay and they would be delighted In connecting the line on the 18th december this year. So something positive, it would be this year at least! I have since left EE even though they offered me 30quid for the trouble and a token gift of two months free internet which as you guessed at 2.50 a month is not enough! Go for reputable firms not something that touts itself as something that it clearly is not. The worst company to deal with and get answers from hen all you need is a simple courtesy call. Very poor and avoid like the plague!!

I switched to EE as I was having problem with TALK TALK. The presentation was great: good salesman, UK based call center: so we signed.

We left as EE turnt out to be worse than Talk Talk.

BROADBAND: it kept dropping out and the speed kept dropping. After 6 o clock and on weekends, we were not even able to stream movies. We had to call Tech Support each time and after going through their painful troubleshot procedure (which include checking the same things every time despite having checked already 20 times) the speed was back to normal only for a few days - then again painfully slow.

CUSTOMER SERVICE - although their customer service is UK based, when you go to TECH support the support is based in India or Pakistan. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as it is but the line was bad and there is a 2 second delay which makes talking really hard. We had to scream on the phone and sometimes was really hard to understand each other.

    So...not a good experience for us :)

Absolute Nightmare. Lost hours trying to sort out basic issues. Booked of a day for a engineer to come and install a line that never happened. EE wants to charge a disconection fee for a line that was never connected! Would rather be eaten alive by sharks that deal with EE again.

I switched from Sky to EE as a cost saving initiative. This is the 11th day that I have been an EE customer and I still have no internet connection. My experience of the company thus far is not a very favourable one. I have been passed around from person to person and the majority of people I have spoken to do not seem to technically understand the problem. They would appear to have a series of checkboxes to tick and very restrictive boundaries to work within. I have had numerous promises broken from EE and even the phone put down on me after insisting (in an agitated manner but not abusive) on speaking to a manager. Now, after being told that I would be entitled to free cancellation when I mentioned I was going to switch to plusnet, EE customer services are disputing this saying that I would be liable for a cancellation fee of over £100.

The link below details all my interactions with EE. Apologies for the emotional tone but as you can appreciate this is incredibly frustrating for me and my family who have been unable to complete their half term holiday homework thus far.

the problem with Orange is that their customer service is diabolical. Up to 35 mins to get connected, if you get through to the wrong department expect a further long delay to get connected to the correct department
    Promised actions seldom materialise.
Phone calls not returned etc . Staff not trained correctly.
    I could go on.

Appalling service offering a very poor and unreliable connection, constant overcharges and wrong bills, disgraceful customer service provided by incompetent and useless people, I normally have to call 5/6 times it takes hours to speak to someone and when I do is a torture as the issues are not solved. I am leaving.

I do not recommend EE. Started having problems with service after 3 days of connection and still not a solution. They lie to you in the phone (giving you misleading information about when they will provide a solution), do not offer any compensation and if you say you want to leave because you are not receiving the service then they threaten you with a fine.
I am stuck with them for a year now....hope you have better luck and choose a better company

We live out in the sticks and have a poor line we repeatedly call EE to get them to send an engineer to sort our line as voice calls break up and sound like there underwater, our fiber speed ranges from 2MB/s to 6MB/s.

once when the open reach engineer visited he said he would put a complaint in against EE as should not have put us on a fibre contract in our location.

he was sent to do a line quality test from the premises and said we're in the dark ages here :)

trying to tell this to EE they refuse to change the contract to ADSL and insist its our modem/router thats the problem. there idiots we are two miles from the cabinet so can't use fibre I told them this when signing up and that i wanted there standard broadband deal but they put us on fibre anyway. trying to get this fixed with there customer service idiots is impossible. there staff have no idea how thing need to be done they just keep asking you to reboot the router connect it to the test socket.

all i want to do is change my contract or cancel it

I've spent hours on hold at times and had the joy of being passed from desk to desk for no reason only to repeat every bit of detail again and again.

Months ago we get call from EE about brodband my wife told guy that she need to talk with me about switching from Virgin. Days after we received txt on EE mob / loosing signal everywhere or no signal at all/ that we will be connected in few days!!! We didn't agree to switch!!! Finally after calls to EE and Virgin we managed to sort it out. This month we moved to new house in Loanhead we couldn't get Virgin in this area so we decided to go with EE. Guy on phone told us that we will be connected in 5 days. After 6-7 days I call them asking when someone will come to set up router and to check connection. They told me that we will be connected in 14 days and they will send router next day! They provide tracking Nr. In next few days we checked tracking and it says that router has been delivered to letter box 9.55am I check CCTV from my front yard and no one been even near my doorstep that day so I give them a call. I spoke with Asian man and I didn't understand a word he said!!! I'm not native British but my English is good enough. So we call them again and they started with standart bs like did u check if someone bla bla bla... I told her that we have cctv around property. She told us that she will dispatch new router imidiatly and we will get it in 48h! / so it's possible!?/ router arrived within 36h and this last Friday of the month after over 20 days nightmare we received txt that we are connected and guess what? No signal in line no internet connection!!! Numerous calls and problems not fixed. Just a moment ago I have had call from +44 7973 100194 And guy said that line is cracking and he hang up. He called on EE mobile phone iPhone 5s . I'm waiting for my wife and we will cancel this brodband landline and mobile phone and I do not take anything from that company in the future. Pls stay away!!!!!!!

This is not a service it is a shambles. I have been having trouble understanding the support team. I have had the service for 5 days and not been able to access the internet. I have been told 3 different things by 3 different people from the support team. I have to wait 10 days for it to work properly! If I want to cancel I have to pay charges for something I've not had. I am not happy with this service. be warned you can never get through either.

EE customer service is abismal! Had to wait nearly 2 months for broadband to be installed. The first problem was due to EE not being able to transfer the number however I was not contacted to tell me this! The 10 working day connection period then had to be reset for installation as it was a new order. This happened again and I was the one who had to call. The staff had no power to do anything and put the phone down on me! I wanted to cancel but by now didn't want to waste time with waiting for further connection times The final issue was they inputted my name wrong which stills shows wrongly on my statement. Broadband is adequate if not a bit slow. Overall you get what you pay for.. its cheap for a reason.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!
I have been an EE customer for a year. Broadband speed and reliability for me were mostly ok, but then I moved house (still within London)....3 weeks later I still have no landline phone and no broadband. I have spent over 2 hours on the phone (at my cost) trying to find out what is going on - most of this is spent on hold, or being asked the same questions over and over by call centre staff who clearly couldn't care less. On one occasion when I spoke to the call centre late one evening, the man asked me to hang on after answering, then cut me off when it reached 11pm without saying a thing! I have spoken to more than 10 different people and received 10 different answers. On two occasions I was told they would look into the problem and call back - they never did. On one occasion when I did get a call-back it came from a BT helpline number! All in all I would AVOID EE - the customer service is SO useless and rude that if anything goes wrong you'll end up paying as much to solve it as you would by taking a slightly more expensive package with another provider.

TerriIble service all round. Fobbed off by customer services when you can finally get through to someone, usual hold time about an hour. Billed incorrectly and despite being assured before I agreed to switch that my broadband changeover would happen within hours I ended up being without broadband for 11 days. Would not recommend.

EE seem to be going from bad to worse. I renewed my contract about 4 months ago when the internet connection was slow and they said that things would improve. Things have got worse and I'm now waiting ages for pages to load or I get connection lost messages. On the admin side they have not sent me e-mails to my revised e-mail address although this was done at the time of renewal. Okay to Bad to Worse!

DIRE.. is the only word to describe EE's broadband. Sold to me as 20meg..actual speed 3 meg!!! How can a company be allowed to miss sell like this? First day of receiving this rubbish I was on the phone to them for 2 hours! This was continually being transferred between departments in India, most of the conversations were lost on me as I had no clue what they were saying! Basically I want out after less than one day but I have to wait for 10 day resolution period for miss selling. This company should not be allowed to trade, they are a disgrace.

I was talked in taking EE's broadband when I rang to upgrade the mobile phones on my account. I decided to take the fibre package, it worked out cheaper than the current a Sky package I had which wasn't fibre and was supremely slow.
While it doesn't work 250m from the house, as promised, I am very happy with the service we received and with the product so far.
There was a one day delay in our fibre going live, so we were without internet for one day, but were at work anyway for most of it and as EE had given me a 10GB boost on both iPhone tariffs for taking the fibre package, we had that anyway so it was all good.
The fibre went live the next day, rather late on and I had to call a couple of times to get it sorted. Was actually dreading it after reading the reviews on here (after I'd ordered the package too - made me feel like cancelling it!)
Anyway, I spoke to a total of three technical support guys over two phone calls, two were English and one Indian, all three were extremely helpful and knowledgable. The fibre when it came on that evening was so fast that my husband and I couldn't actually believe it! It's been a couple of weeks now and the speeds are astonishing, downloading hour-long episodes of an American TV series that I watch used to take about an hour each and now they download in about four minutes. I am a very happy customer and would recommend EE's fibre package to anyone.

I'm going to be honest. This is my first review. I have been on EE for a while now on my mobile network, i thought i'd try the broadband out as I wasn't with an internet provider. It took about a month to set everything up. I'm averaging speeds of about 5-7mbps download, 0.5-1mbps upload and my ping is around 20. The only fault I can find is the internet speed. I haven't had to contact customer support after it was set up. I am myself a gamer and a network technician. Internet speed is important too me also. I have no jitter and 0% packet loss. Streaming video's doesn't seem to be a problem unless trying to view in 1080p. If I do disconnect it's due to DDoS attacks on my network.

We've just switched to EE and haven't had any DSL carrier signal on the modem since the switch. Customer service took 50 minutes to reach the first time, and their response was to "Try again in the morning". They didn't seem equipped to deal with the problem.

When I tried the next day, I was met by a recorded message saying that EE was having problems generally, and so the phone lines were overloaded, and to try phoning back later if possible.

in the days of Orange, they were the best.. now, they are even worse than 3, and that is saying something!!. I have a fibre connection, and currently I am getting a P2P download of 180K, the phone now doesnt work in my area (weak signal). I dont know what they are doing but if they want to keep any customers the better sort it out, an QUICK.

"Upgraded to EE fibre Optic broadband from free orange standard broadband. From day one it has been the worst, unreliable broadband I've had to date. Absolutely rubbish customer service, who tell you to do the same old crap time and time again. Absolutely disgusted at this provider, can't wait for my contract to end!!!! Constand low speeds of 3 to 10mps at very very best when I was promised and pay for 39mbps!

Save yourself the crap and don't even bother!

I had a phone contract with T. Mobile. This year in May, EE got in on the act and started sending me bills. My contract was a standing order, monthly. I have no idea what the bills were for, they were outside the contract. 150 told me they could do nothing for me, that, in fact they were giving me a discount (by sending me extra bills???). I thanked them and told them....no thanks....I am bound by a contract.

Since the contract has ended, and I have actually been freed from their awful service, I am now receiving even larger bills.

I am waiting to see what they say. I have emailed customer service. They are time wasters who generate bills to send to their customers. Beware !

Biggest mistake ever. Had perfectly good service with SKY (no problems in 2 years)and stupidly swapped to EE to save seventy quid a year. Speed is very variable and the brightbox needs reset very regularly. Biggest issue though is continually losing WiFi and having to phone India to get it fixed, which is painful. Tech people are HORRENDOUS. No British equivalent for problems at all. Also they restrict downloads for most of the day, everyday. Now I am going to have to pay to get out the contract, I cannot put up with it any longer. Worst broadbrand provider Iv had in 15 years......

I'll keep this short and to the point.

I've experienced nothing but a solid connection with we since getting fibre with the.

However, over the last 4 days I've experienced nothing short of the worst customer service I've ever had that's mostly ruined my weekend waiting for callbacks

They seem nice enough on the phone, but they cannot sort out basic problems, they follow scripts which takes them an ice age to go through and then there is the callbacks

I've has them telling me someone will call back within 60 minutes twice which I'm still yet to receive a call.

I've had them arrange callback for the phone time (as in am instead of pm). I've had them contact me at a time I told them was innapropriate as nobody will be able to answer, I'm now left with no internet for 5 days because they cannot see its an authentication issue with our account.

Do not go with EE if you want any problem solved. Bring back British technical support, even though these tech supports in other countries are courteous they couldn't solve any basic problem that I could see from the start.

I changed from PlusNet to EE in June via Money Saving Expert (MSE) website to save money & the promise of a £120 Amazon voucher after 3 months. After providing the MAC code, changeover went smoothly for both Broadband & landline on the dates agreed. After the usual initial 5-7 days, broadband speed was same as PlusNet (which was same as BT which I had before that)- about 14-17Mb d/l + 1Mb u/l. EE has more bandwidth restrictions than PlusNet, so if you torrent, its after 1am for you!
(Reading some of the other comments on here, I have read elsewhere that changing FROM Sky & Talktalk to ANY other provider can sometimes be problematic, but can't remember the techi reason why)

Occasional (weekly) problems with unresponsive page requests (either nothing happens or new page appears after 5-10 seconds). Changed primary & secondary DNS server in router settings away from Orange to faster alternatives - Problem solved! (Namebench software gave results)

EE charged me full price for 1st month instead of offer price, after several emails & phone calls - customer support they said they knew nothing about the discounted offer but after 30 minute phone calls & call backs from managers (which I recorded for training & security purposes!!) they agreed to sign me up for a new deal, which was cheaper than the original MSE deal & assured me that the Amazon voucher would still stand....Hmmmm....my 3 months are now up, so time to start chasing MSE/"Affiliate Window"/EE or whoever for it, I can't imagine it will just turn up!

In summary, EE's reputation for c**p customer support still seems true. I came from PlusNet which is said to have some of the best.
    Speed & reliability 4.5 out of 5

I have been with Orange broadband for several years, and the service was quite good, I was happy with it. BUT since EE has taken control the service is virtually unusable. I was getting around 3meg with Orange, now I am only getting 0.29 KBPS, which is virtually unusable. I have to sit and watch that bloomin streamer rotating. when I have called the Orange help phoneline you get someone in a call centre in India, you can't make out what they are saying, because the line is bad( not my phone) I have had enough of EE, so now I am looking at alternative broadband providers.

I had to try and call about my new contract with EE broadband, I had only set it up last evening but had a query about my call package.
I phoned, got cut off, phoned, cut off again, eventually got through to a very abrupt female with a northern Irish accent, heavens that put me off, she was so rude and I then decided to stay put with SKY Broadband. After being put on hold twice and then being transferred to a guy called Gary in Hull I was put on hold with him three times, I had enough and told him to cancel my arrangement with them, he was not helpful and this was the nail in the coffin, I thought I just couldn't put up with this shambles. After waiting and waiting, 87 minutes later I put the phone down after he told me my contract has been cancelled and he is sending me an email to confirm, this was 6 hours ago and still no email, I so hope I don't have to endure this hell again. I wouldn't even give them one star for customer service but I have to, I have no idea what the broadband is like as thank god I never got that far. It would of saved me £2.50 a month being with EE had I stayed put, I spent a fortune this morning making calls to them so I have lost money already and not even set up. Spoke to SKY and they are going to match EE and I have payed line rental with them for a year at £11.00 a month. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM EE IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE!!!!!!

A total disgrace. This company tells lies!. I'm mesmerized by the way this company runs, given it's a UK based provider... You would understand and accept it, if it were in a underdeveloped third world country. But as it's not... Calling themselves a service is just rude.

I urge anyone to look around before buying into any of their services, as the offers of paying less seem to be the best way EE get new customers... But once you're an exciting customer, and you're faced with a problem, you might as well talk to your nearest brick wall: least then you will not be lied to.

One word to sum up our whole EE experience; it would be: ATROCIOUS

Hopefully, I can stay online long enough to send this review. Without a doubt, EE broadband is the worst broadband service I've ever had.
Today I am going to cancel my account but I am building up the resources to phone them - always a nightmare and at my expense both in time and money.
I have phoned them on several occasions already and a protracted and difficult call ends with no resolution.
I am prepared to pay more for a better service.
Currently I can't even do a speed test because I get timed out but I might get 0.7 - 1 mb if I'm lucky. When it works a bit faster, it drops out continually. The range of the router is not what is claimed. The whole service is terrible. I would never recommend them to even my worst enemy!

Please stay away from EE fibre broad band unless you only use your internet for paying bills online or to book tickets. My speed consistently falls between 2-3 MB for most of the day and only picks up Fibre speed for few hours after 1 am. I cannot use You tube , play online or use my smart TV.

Please avoid unless you are happy to pay 20 quid a month for a dial up internet.

We have had an appalling time with EE. I was persuaded that if I changed my broadband provider from BT to EE then I would get a cheaper and equally good service. That was in August. It's now mid-October and we haven't had a phone line for almost two months because of their total uselessness. First of all I waited whilst the line was turned on...I provided the MAC code etc. the day of the line going active came and went with no connection taking place. I phoned and was told that they hadn't processed the order as BT had cancelled my line. I asked why they hadn't told me that they had stopped my order. They said "yeah, we should have told you"!! I also said, how come you didn't organise it to be turned back on? I was told that a mistake had occurred, that they were sorry and that they would reorder it and give me a free month. Somewhat mollified I ageed and waited for two more weeks...this has now happened three more times! No one at EE has ever contacted me to explain that there has been a problem, I have always had to contact them to find out what is going on. i am now stuck as if I try and go with a different service I'll have to pay for my line to be turned back on. I am so furious and wish I had never gone near EE broadband.

Utter trash, avoid at all costs.

None of the technical support that you will get to talk to have any real idea about how Internet infastructure works outside of the general help booklets they receive to help them with the majority of low level issues.

Draconian TMP's leading to horrendous (and I mean utterly moronic) latency spikes, short term dropouts and packet loss to every service imaginable because as stated before - whoever set up their Net Inf in the first place must have been a tool, as in - an actual tool, like a wrench or screwdriver with the most basic of cognitive functions.

If you are in desperate need of a stress enhancement tool, or a reason to really let off some steam - apply today for EE broadband.

If however you are a sane, normal human being - avoid them like the bubonic plague and act like it's the mid 1300's.

Hoped I wasn't getting into anything awful reading all the reviews, but so far EE have been great (2 months in so far)
My only annoyance was that I took a day off for the initial engineer visit. The guy never attended my house BUT he attended the box (this is communication issue with Openreach) and to be fair the guy sorted the box in the road and the attended my house three days after as promised. EE customer support were great.

There are horror stories on here, but there will be in most places.

If only I'd read these reviews before I switched to EE! On switchover day I received a text to say my broadband would be switched on 8 days later and a call to customer service did nothing so my first experience of EE service was to lose my broadband for over a week. Asked customer service if they had a formal complaints procedure and was given an address to write to but weeks later I've still not had any response whatsover. Today I've had an email from them saying I've missed my first payment because my credit card may have expired (it hasn't) and therefore I owe them an administration charge. Link to 'update payment method' online doesn't work so I can't check what details they have wrong. I phoned customer service just now to sort it out that way but after 20 mins of queuing the phone went dead. I don't think I've ever known a more inept company in my life.
