Without a doubt one of the worst broadband providers I have ever used.

While the staff are very polite, they seem to have little to no training on actually resolving or understanding issues.

My broadband went down and it took me a week of chasing them up on the phone to actually get an engineer out. It is very frustrating constantly being told that something will be resolved in 48 hours, to not have anything done.

Cannot keep to their own timeframes and would not provide data on my phone to help me manage. I work from home and it left me out of pocket.

I will be cancelling my broadband and my mobile phones with EE asap.

I have 4 broadband accounts and 4 mobile phones all with EE. My decision to move everything to EE rates up there in my top 3 WORST decisions of my life. There customer care is absolutely deplorable. nothing short of Lies and broken promises. Please do not under any circumstances be tempted to switch to them unless you like punishment and enjoy high levels of stress. The problems I have experienced with EE are to long to list here. But the latest is,I have been waiting six weeks for my router box to arrive. I have chased them every other day for the past 3 weeks and still no wifi!!! but wait, they took by direct debit from my account today my first months payment. I HAVE HAD NO SERVICE!!
If you are contacted by EE I would only suggest you run for the hills!

After reading all the negative EE reviews about service, connection and what really killed it for me was data managment in place I looked elsewhere for broadband and even rang BT to see what they could offer my as my contract had ended with them to be told, as I am an existing customer I could not have the big flashy prices they were now offering. So decided to again look elsewhere and kept coming back to EE, the prices were very good for complete package of phone and broadband. So decided to go for it and made the order online also got quidco cash back, so went for it. I was shocked how quickly I got an emailed stating that my order was accepted, within a few days again I was updated on my order and given a switch over date - so far so good. New router arrived as per the email, switch over day came and had a txt around 7:30am to confirm it was done. Sure enough connected router and checked phone line, all working - initial speed was as per my BT connection 20 up and about 6 down, so far so good same speeds and im saving about £14 each month great. After a few days speed fluctuated slighty and was getting upto 27 up and about 6 down - good stuff. After some reserach I decided to upgrade the router, network cables and also the BT master socket in the house. Ok the router was not cheap, but thought worth a gamble...and wow suddently im getting solid 34-38 down and 9-10 up, I cannot see any evidence of data mangement so far. Im now a month in and touch wood all good, speed is constant. I am more than aware if I ever have to call EE thats when this will all be put to the test, but I am happy thus far and have no complaints over the service provided - maybe im just lucky?!

If you want good broadband then keep away from EE because this broadband is about the worst there is. Dead slow. Buffering all the time. Save your time and go elsewhere. Do not believe what they promise it will not happen. GARBAGE!!!!

I changed to EE because TalkTalk were rubbish, but there are no words in the English vocabulary to describe EE, every promise to do this that and the other was broken, at least 15 times on the phone about the phone line buzzing, of course they ran a test and of course it came back all okay.
I did have one quite day when the internet worked so I did a speed test 0.02 download, and they said if I wanted to I could watch TV on it....With 0.02 down...Are they kidding or what?
They told me I didn't have a working land line at my premises, I told them that I am calling them on the working land line, they sent me an e-mail telling me I didn't have a working landline, so they changed the phone number that I had for over 28 years.
Every call I made and at least 20, I was told to hang on a moment, then the line dropped of, NO answer to recorded letters, 6 people told me that I cannot have my old phone number back..Impossible they said, yet one person at EE said he will do it straight away, they really do excel in telling 100% good lies.
I kept a record of everything they told me, times dates etc, and that came to 6 pages long, how long was I with them....11 DAYS...Thats how long I was with them, so if I had all this trouble in this short amount of time heaven only knows what 12 months would have been like...STAY AWAY FROM EE.

Without doubt in my 57 years of age,the WORST Company I have EVER had to deal with. Was miss sold Broadband at our shop,we were told it was a 12 month contract, our fault we signed without reading small print,18 month contract,we were entering into a shop, said we might be there 3 or 6 months. EE said no problem,if you leave early we will only be able to charge the £1 a month for broadband,as you won't be using your landline.Reality we left after 2 months, landlady wanted shop back. EE have now charged us 18 months £360 when we only used broadband for 1 week. The other service at my home address is coming to an end, another £360,when giving notice to cancel as my payments will rise to £30 monthly, the women online has said we have slow service.Unlike their original promise of 3G and fast speed.Been into both southampton and isle of wight shops 3 times each during with ZERO help, all they say is oh,it's not our problem, disgusting company, after trying to cancel with 1 operator for 15 minutes,I then get passed to a snooty manager trying to sell sell sell. Avoid this company at all costs.

I cancelled my contract and asked on the phone if it was OK to go ahead and remove EE from my direct debits on online banking. The person on the phone said that yes, as a payment had just come out I was OK to cancel the direct debit. EE then tried to take a further payment after I'd cancelled the direct debit. When I received the letter stating that my payment hadn't been collected I contacted the customer services to explain the situation. After being put on hold for 20 minutes while the operator spoke to her manager I was told that no, I had to pay the last amount as they had no record of me cancelling the account. I had to re-cancell the account. I was told either to pay up or to go through to the customer complaints process. I didn't pay, initially believing in the process, then filled out the customer complaints email but got no answer. I thought the problem had been dealt with but then received another letter threatening my credit rating and that my 'debt' would be sold to a collection agency. I called the number to pay the amount because I don't want that, and even THEN it wasn't easy - the automatic payment process switched to a person who needed to take all my details again. When she asked for the payment due date on the letter (there isn't one) I was told I couldn't make the payment. So now I have to pay but can't pay. After I took her employee number so that I could try the complaints process again she magically could take the payment without the mysterious disappearing due date. Please for the love of humanity, if you're reading this before getting into a contract please don't sign with EE or Orange, or T-Mobile (they're all the same company).

I agree. Avoid at all costs. I had no broadband for 3 weeks and went completely round the bend trying to deal with them. They promise the earth and provide nothing. You never speak to the same person twice and they do not have a clue what they are talking about. They do anything to get you off the phone. They sent me a dongle and the so called expert - in this country! - told me it would take 24 hours to warm up and would then work. It never worked as we only have 2G here, but they did not even know that. The Vodaphone dongle I had to buy worked perfectly. It turned out someone at the exchange had upgraded my phone line but had forgotten to plug in the broadband. It took 3 weeks to find this out and EE kept sending out a phone line engineer as they kept telling me I had no dialing tone, 2 weeks after the fault with the phone was put right. EE blamed BT and vice versa. I am now changing to BT on the basis they cannot be worse than EE as it would be impossible. At least I will only have one company to complain to, and not two.Do not be persuaded by cheaper prices or good deals as your mental health is more important.

EE is a joke with no integrity and no customer service and support.
I have been with the EE since 2018 and I renewed my contract paying £30/mnth in February as I was told I will be getting 47-71 Mb/s estimated download speed range. And that is what I got exactly for 2 weeks and then it dropped down to 28-30 Mb/s.
I gave them a call and the guy who spoke to me told me they will send an engineer to look for any outside connection faults. And if the problem didn't get fixed and if the service did not work as expected then I can terminate my agreement without any charge. When I asked him if I have to be at home, I was told I don't really have to be there as it was an outside job. After a couple of days, I got a message saying there wasn't any fault.
I thought the service will get better so, I waited. But there were no changes and I decided to cancel my agreement and move to a different provider.
I got this letter saying I will have to pay the termination charge of £158.07. Now as I had the right to cancel the agreement as discussed, I gave them a call to clear things. Sounds crazy, I had to talk with 5 different staffs and I had to be on the phone for more than 2 hrs just to talk on this matter and get things clear.
The lady I spoke to in first place told me THE ENGINEER WAS NOT ABLE TO BE THERE BECAUSE OF CURRENT COVID SITUATION and was trying to help me out. The line was kept on hold but after a while, the line cut off. I waited for 5-10 mins hoping I will get a callback. Nothing came.
I gave them a call again and spoke to this guy and mentioned him the same thing again. Guess what, the line got cut off.
I had to call them again and this guy, the third person I spoke to told me I have to pay the charge because THE ENGINEER WAS THERE AND THERE WAS NO FAULT WITH THE CONNECTION.
Now, WHO SHOULD I BELIEVE TO???????????????????????????????????? the lady I spoke to in first place or this guy.And guess what, I told him they are saying me different things. As soon as I mentioned to him that, he transferred the call to another staff from the technical section.
Now, this lady told me because of this current situation they need at least 90 days to fix the problem and I am not allowing them to do that and that is why I have to pay the charge. I tried to explain to her but then she transferred the call to her manager. Now, the manager told me the engineer did come to my property and I DIDNOT GIVE HIM AN OPPORTUNITY TO GO INSIDE MY HOUSE TO RECTIFY THE FAULTS. Also, they expect a call from me if the service is not working properly.
My question is how many times do I have to ring them and tell them about the same thing again and again. Also, EE usually put you on hold for long and they transfer your call from one staff to another having you explaining the same thing again.
As you can see people are saying different things just to make me pay that charge. There is no big issue with paying the charge but since they are lying and making things up, that is clearly a lie. Can say, that is a fraud. This manager told me this is how they do the job. But I say that is how they rob the customers. I am ready to go forward with legal terms as I cannot stand it. After this, I am never going back with EE even though they give me free service and I would not recommend anyone if you are a person with the principal and you don't want to get robbed.

I don't usually bother with reviews but when I seen the deal with EE I was a bit disheartened to see all the bad reviews. I went ahead anyway cos it was only for a year and I was going from paying £30 a month to £2_50 a month. Decided it was worth a punt plus I had terrible service with BT and wasnt that happy with them. I'm so glad I did, we've had no problems at all. We watch Netflix every Saturday night and we've never had any buffering. The speed seems the same, can't see any difference. Job done and it brings a smile to my face every time I see my bill. Just looked at this months and its £3.16 with my phone calls. I had to phone customer services to ask a question at the beginning and they couldn't have been nicer, it wasn't a foreign call centre and the guy was really helpful. Anyway I hope this review will help someone to make a decision, its not all bad, think maybe people are more likely to review if they've had a bad experience.

Absolutely shocking !!! Virtually impossible to watch/stream download/upload ANYTHING at any time of day. EG. It has just taken almost 4 hours to download a 3.5gb Xbox update. Trying to watch anything on ANY device connected via WiFi or Ethernet is diabolical. Can take Upto 3 hours to watch a 30 minute video because of constant buffering. Can't wait til my contract is up. NEVER EVER change to EE

Today I have renew my fibre with EE, as it was very good service for last year or so. I have looked at other providers, some looks cheaper, but managed to get discount from EE. Price is very similar to other now and don't have to go through change over - with fibre some of them want to send engineer (my mate waited 3 weeks with switch-over to SSE).
In general very good, constant speed, great router - never had a problem. Renewal was done very efficiently.

Advisor cheated us! He said one price for me and partners phone contracts but at the end bill come much bigger with different prices. On contract advisor didnt write down prices. The last step when he put a receipt we didnt check it but there was all truth! Even for insurance he said its 8£ a month but at real its 12 £. And we can't prove it cuz all information is on receipt not contract. What should we do? I dont wanna pay that money monthly....im not ready for expensive bills! Its Lincolns store on 309 High street. Sales advisor who cheated us is Raymond!

very bad service from EE technical department. I ordered EE broad band 1st of January 2015. i didn't get any internet until today(19/01/2015). But EE charged their monthly rental and everything from my account two days back. I do not recommended this EE broadband service to others. all starting programme very very poor. Don't waste your time.

I was moving from SE London to Aylesbury. It is a new built area so EE does not provide broadband in that area of Aylesbury as Openreach doesn't serve the property.
I could not find the property in Openreach's broadband availability checker hence, asked them to raise this with Openreach, they said they will
investigate internally, there was complete silence from them for the next few days. Every time I called them, they kept asking me for the new address I was moving to. I told them it should be
on your file because you are investigating this. They said it's not on their file, there is no mention of the address on the system and their notes but the back end team has it.
I could not understand how it was not on their file
when they were actually investigating this. I used to work for an ISP and I know how the system works,
finally I had to raise a complint with them and they agreed to raise with Openreach. In a couple of days they got back to me saying
they cannot supply broadband at the property. Had they raised this with Openreach on day one all this drama could have been avoided.
I am trying to highlight the fact their members of staff are lacking good customer service skills, also when a customer tells them they are moving to
a particular property the address should be entered on the system and the customer should not have to repeat the address like a broken tape recorder.
    Very poor customer service.

Worst company I've every dealt with. I signed a 1-year broadband contract in September but didn't get internet until November. I kept calling and they would say "within the next 2 weeks." Then reliability was spotty all year: several times a week we would have hours of unexplained 90-100% packet loss to most addresses. And now that 1 year is up I have to pay a £40 "early termination fee" because it took so long to activate the year before. Despite multiple complaints, the customer service reps do nothing to remedy this. Do not go with EE!

These star ratings don't really illustrate my story.

I have been a customer of EE broadband for over a year and all was fine, broadband relatively stable. No issues.

    Then, I moved house!

I was told there was a cease on my line at the new property when I started the home move. Almost a month later, and two promised dates that my internet would be working, I was still utterly broadbandless. I was finally offered a Mifi device to help me out until the third promised date. I was also offered some credit on my account, though this did not show when I was logged in and every representative I spoke to couldn't seem to confirm nor deny that the credit had been applied.

Despite letting them send a mifi I decided I'd had enough. This was my contract and having moved in with my partner, his work was suffering as a result of this. It also put a dampener on Christmas and makes our evenings and weekends very unproductive when we want to work or study and require internet.

I called the complaints team and had an hour long debate with a manager. He kept trying to tell me the 'facts' despite most of those 'facts' being incorrect. For example, my phone line was live on the 23rd of December, we tested it, and yet the internet still did not go live on the 4th January as promised OR on the 18th of January as promised again. He said he could not let me cancel for free at this point because I had accepted credit (which I couldn't get confirmed) and a Mifi device (which I can send back).

Blaming BT seemed to be the go to response, and to be honest, BT probably did play a part in this. But that is not my issue really. I pay EE for a service, I expect a service. Offering me a Mifi device after I've already had to call you 10 times and offering me credit that no one can seem to confirm isn't really what I need at this point.

I was about to pay £26 to terminate early, when the manager turned his approach around and said that he would let me cancel for free if the internet did not go live on the third date, in 10 days time (18th January). So I decided to accept his kind offer and wait. This decision was a mistake.

    Guess what. No internet.

I have now left EE for free without any hassle so they stayed true to their word, and again, friendly staff on the phone.

I wish I had paid 10 days ago though because I now have to wait until February for a new ISP to set up my internet. It would have been worth the money to leave this awful company.

Yep, I wish I had actually paid EE my own hard earned money to leave, because they really were that bad.

Having said that - most of the representatives I spoke to on the phone and on Twitter were friendly and seemed to really want to help. I feel they are being let down by their systems and making promises they can't keep which makes customers upset. Being friendly is all well and good but if you can't provide the service you offer what is the point?

There was a lot of "let me just log into three different systems" to check your details - seems the company are letting their customer services team down with shocking infrastructure.

Even with problems like a cease on the line, a reliable ISP should be able to deal with this and communicate appropriately.

Absolutely, never in a million years, would I ever recommend EE services.

I have never known broadband so bad and so slow. Most of the time I cannot use it because I do not have the time to wait for the simplest thing to download. My Amazon Firestick, which worked great with SKY, just cannot download a single video properly. I have complained so many times to EE but nothing improves and I also have had a price increase mid term contract to add insult to injury. What a garbage company!!!

No info on speeds as never got connected or received ANYTHING but lies for 3 weeks. AVOID and believe the reviews, do NOT give them the benefit as we did, big mistake. Now left with no service at all and a mysteriously MISSING phone line? Most polite operators talking blatant lies and promise the world but give nothing. Never again and never ever recommended. Keep up the good work EE .

If you want a nervous breakdown, choose EE.
The promised service was so terrible it barely worked. So bad the mobile service, my bank was unable to send me texts. They put my number in the telephone directory, despite my ex directory request. They then refused to remove it. They took direct debits which were never set up. They offered me derisory compensation, including refund of the direct debit, which I reluctantly accepted. They then ignored my reply. Then, after emailing endlessly, they sent me an email saying it was time it was sorted out!!!! I agreed the terms again. They next day they withdrew the offer and told me to go to the ombudsman. They are a disgusting bunch, shameful and unprofessional. If you want misery, get EE because that is all you will get!!!!

Since joining with EE Home broadband it has been a disaster.. Delivery was ok, however the speed is horrendous. It has been the worst broadband provider I have signed up to, having chosen BT and O2 in the past which were 100% more effective. EE signal constantly drops which means we have been unable to watch movies properly or catch up on tv shows on bbd inlayer for the last 1 month. I never find the time to write reviews such as these, but on this occasion I wanted to warn others before signing up to EE. Avoid and consider alternative providers.

Ridiculously low broadband speed and although told when I committed to the contract it was the best I could get because no fibre in the area I have found Virgin can provide much better service with cable.

Please stay well clear of signing up to EE broadband unless you love talking for hours to their rude and incompetent customer service every week. I have talked to staff and managers and frankly there is no hope with the lack of service because apparantly there has to be 30 continuous days of no service for me to be allowed to leave. Even I would have to pay for the privilege. My longest has been over two weeks with no service and they told me it was only valid if I called in every third day or they would assume it was back working.

I am just counting down the couple of months I have until I can cancel the contract and not have to talk to a rep who makes me believe they have finally fixed the problem for all of a day or so (sometimes 10mins) and then the crawling/no service occurs again. I have had days and weeks of no service/slow service and no matter how much I call and I patiently go through the crib sheet of what they want me to do, it is happening again even right now.

Never had an issue with BT, Talk Talk, Sky before so it is not the house as EE loves to blame. I unfortunately fell for EE cheap one off price which I paid upfront. The company is a corrupt and simply disgusts me. Provides no service but is happy because they have taken my money.

I am finally free of the worst broadband service which I have been trapped in for a year. Everyday I have had some issue such as no service or at other times watching the waiting icon circling endless. Simply don't sign up to EE. Worst customer service from a bunch of lying/couldn't give a damn staff and frankly EE have stolen my money for a year with no accountability of actually providing the service they claim they will give you. In the end I gave up customer services as who wants to talk to a muppet on a daily basis. Run away and use Talk Talk, BT or Sky where I have never had hardly any issues!!!

Placed an order with the company as I am with them for a mobile contract. After three days annual leave waiting for a BT engineer still no broadband. Six weeks in and tired of being without service I cancelled and was told to collect my deposit from the shop. The shop manager looked like I just asked him for a loan. So no deposit and no service I decided to go with Sky expecting to get the same BT situation but was I wrong. They had it installed and working within two weeks. I got tired of all the progress text messages but hey! Go to Sky or Virgin! These guys are armatures! Will never waste my time time dealing EE again. And guess where U will get my next mobile contract from? Yes, not EE!

Absolutely terrible. When you test the broadspeed, the readings are usually quite good, but they are not backed up by the actual experience.
The connections drop randomly and stop in the middle of something. Some websites simply become unaccessible for a few seconds to a few mins and then reconnect. Totally unreliable. Really regreted signing with EE for broadband.

We were promised a smooth change over by EE. It did not go to plan. They blamed Open Reach for the problem. When I spoke to 4 different customer service reps about their promise, I was either brushed off or spoken to very rudely. If you are thinking of going with EE dont bother. I literally just received a text from them to say they will provide an uodate in 5 days time, no need to call them! Really disgusting.

I wouldn't even give EE one star, they are the WORST broadband provider I have ever encountered. Speeds.... There ain't any it was better 10 years ago with dial up, frequently lost connection and down for periods of time, call after call to the 'customer service team' who are rude and have no customer service skills what so ever. Have cancelled with them twice now and they are still taking money out of my account. Have called and apparently they have no record of my call??? However after I complained and spoke with a supervisor they found my call however could not understand why it had not been cancelled the first time and tried to charge me again! I think not! After canceling yet again I received a letter confirming the cancellation and what to my suprise they have just taken money out of my account again!!!! I think it's yet another call that's the third time I would have cancelled with the rudest most incompetent 'customer services' I have ever encounted. Please never go to EE I have now transferred back to Sky who are great!

The customer service is tricky as only needed them once and was when my contact ended and price increased and they sorted that straight away with a new contact and adjusted my next bill with a reduction for the one month increase too.

Speed is always top end or sometimes higher than the estimate and it hardly ever disconnects. Stream in 4k all the time without issue.

Been with a few providers over the years including talk talk, sky, BT & virgin (avoid virgin at all costs!) and this is better than any of them.
