What is the point of having 'people always ready to help' when you cannot get through to them in daytime and they go home just as you think you might get through. Change is long overdue.

Never buy ADSL from Plusnet- they use the oldest ADSL, not ADSL+2 . Speeds are 256kb/s downloading data from any website at best. Plusnet promised to upgrade to fiber on 31st of August 2016, then made an excuse that an Openreach engineer was needed to fix our BT line... complete B.S . They said 5th to 15th of September we'd get fiber....then made an excuse an engineer wasn't available until Sept 27th... No emails or letters from Plusnet whatsoever, they didn't bother informing me at any stage about possible delays- I had to use their chatbox to get the info from Plusnet 'customer service' ... They do not prioritize fiber customers. Considering Plusnet is part of BT, as is Openreach. I can say Plusnet is the worst broadband supplier out there... they don't 'do you proud', they do your head in... AVOID PLUSNET AT ALL COSTS. I did warn them about a review and possible legal action alongside Trading Standards, Citizens Advice Bureau has reviewed my case, I will unleash Hell on Plusnet very soon, I do believe.

Would never recommend plusnet internet so slow that it's impossible to watch a program online even if you are the only person on the internet. Also I had signed a 18 month contract and they have increased the line rental within 6 months of that contract period. Customer service poor as it takes approximately 45 minutes to get through to customer service.

I placed my order for phone and fibre broadband on the 12th of September was told it would be up and running by the 26th only to receive a text message late on the 22nd that it was now going to be 7th of October, rang them up the following morning and after waiting just short of half an hour I got through to a rude unhelpful customer service adviser who told me that the order was only put through on the 22nd of September offered no reason or explanation as to why not even a sorry for there shoddy service what's even worse is that I now have to wait five days to get my money back but there quick to take it from your account never have I had dealings with such a poor couldn't give a toss bunch take my advice don't use em. There is no option on here to score em a minus or they would revive a big minus score

Initially Plusnet was good, although my internet was always slow on a Sunday maybe because it was peak. If you are late with payments they sa they give you 14 days which is no way true you can just about log onto fb but you can't do anything else. My internet has been going in and out of service for over a week now after a call wait 3 times of over 50 minutes and the service is still no better I have gone with someone else. The call wait time alone is ridiculous and then for the customer service to pass you around to wait longer and the issue is still not resolved just made my mind up. Don't bother using this company.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH PLUSNET!!! If o could make it bold and bigger text I would. They worried ok and then couldn't provide me with a service at all. When I cancelled they attempted to charge me a cancellation fee for a service they can't provide! They are now try to chase me through debt collection agency. Customer services not interested. Don't make the same mistake- you have been warned!

Awful experience. My connection date is almost a month after the date I signed up. Even though my phone line is in place. That's if it goes ahead on time, which I'm not holding out much hope for judging by other peoples' experiences. I've attempted to contact them via their website multiple times but I just get ignored. After spending ages on hold I spoke to someone who said they could do nothing whatsoever to bring it forward. Eventually they said they could bring it forward but it would cost me over £200! They say the long wait times are down to their suppliers (AKA BT). Even though Plusnet are actually owned by BT! Unsurprisingly there were no delays when it came to collecting my money! I would strongly advise against joining Plusnet.

If I could give less than 1 star I would.

We recently decided to upgrade from adsl to fibre and switch suppliers at the same time. Chose Plusnet bas d on their advertising etc. Provisioing date was given as 18 days after order, ok we thought at least the broadband will only be out for a short time, how wrong could we be!

Phone was connected on the promised date but no broadband (previous supplier had disconnected at that point). A call to plusnet Cust Serv the following day, resulted in 40mins on hold then a further 35 mins on hold before getting connected to provisioning.

Long story short, yesterday 8days post the original date we were within a 2hr period told our broadband would be provisioned in a further 8 days, then that is was being worked on as we spoke, then that it would be provisioned in a further 12 days. Each time having to wait on hold for more than 30mins for the call to be answered then on average a further 20-25 mins for provisioning.

Enough is enough we cancelled the order completely and phoned Sky, whole process completed in 15mins, and although we have to wait 14 days for a connection, at least ai won't be wasting another 9hrs of my week on hold with Plusnet.

    A lucky escape I think.

Ordered broadband on 8th August now writing this review on 21st September from my 4g connection because hey guess what? No broadband service from this joke company. Telephone is working though, I guess that is so they can get out of reimbursement because technically I have a line. Just one more thing, be prepared for calls lasting several hours trying to get through to someone who provides little help or information. Was informed on 20th September I can expect broadband before midnight in the 1st of October. Don't do it I have had Sky, Talktalk and BT in the past 5 years and all changed over within a week or two but not these cowboys. They haven't even sent the router out so when my connection does (not getting my hopes up) come on, I'll have no bloody access to it.

Have been with PlusNet since January 2007 - they were very good at that time. in the last 3 years or so they have begun the slide to TalkTalk status. They are abysmal I am looking for another supplier and will move asap.
Many on this iste feel the same. When I signed on with PlusNet WHICH placed them at the top of the satifaction charts. Where are they now?

Anyone with drop-out problems throw the plusnet router, which is total rubbish, in the bin and invest in a TP Link router, not expensive and never dropped out once since changing to it.
Internet speeds also rubbish, ring them and when you eventually get through to complain they hike the speed up by the following day only for it to fall away over the following 4/5 weeks, resulting in another phone call to repeat the process all over again. Morons

Moved house and it took them weeks to sort my internet out and they kept cancelling appointments from May-July to come and sort it out, so with during that time I had no internet but they was quick enough to take payments out of my bank so now they owe me 2 months money and I've not received it after me ringing them for over a month over it they also kept sending emails saying it will be in my bank 5-7 working days and still nothing , first time they didn't even bother putting it in my bank!!!. I will be taking things further if my money is not back into my bank . I felt like I have been ripped off as a customer!! So annoyed and frustrated but quick enough for them to take money off me still. May think of changing provider for my internet!

Could not agree with most of the reviews here more. Like Obama & Blair these people promise so, so much and utterly fail to deliver. Just avoid! Not cheap enough, not reliable enough, not helpful enough, not concerned enough. Fast Broadband? No. Just No.

I signed up with Plusnet 3 years ago sick and tired of Talk Talk. initially very good but now appalling Every time you want to talk to a person its at least 30 minutes plus .The Advisors ? are very mixed but at least I can understand them .

I have just upgraded to fiber that was fine router worked ok .
But would I recommend PLUSNET now I do not think so >they are a subsidiary of BT always OUT OF REACH and I think BT are controlling them more and more .

So be careful customer service is awful . Will comment on speed later

First router not sent out on time, then a confusion over the activation date. Customer service waiting times are in excess of an hour on hold, chat waiting times not much better. Customer service representatives are rude and petty and could not care less. Had to sort my own engineer to come out as the wait for the fault team to even contact me was 5 days, and this was before scheduling a visit.

The internet speed is ok but if you ever have an issue it's really rubbish. I would go elsewhere - and i will be moving when my initial contract is up. Not worth the hassle.

Left aol because i needed to speak to an english speaking call centre. Plusnet boasted of speed and customer service. For two weeks i have waited 43 minutes last week and now again a week later, i am on hold for 45 miutes and still counting. I have tried the option to leave the service and i have been on hold for 15 minutes so far. I have both my mobile and landline on hold with plusnet. Their adverts boast "if the customer service is not up to scratch then you just as well pack up and go".
They have an online fault finding service, even that is still unavailable. Two weeks? astonishing. They dont have a CS service. If it has, then it is not fit for purpose.
Do not sign up with plusnet.

Completely unreliable broadband connect ever since Plusnet moved from BT's server environment a couple of months ago to their own. Keeps dropping PPP. Customer support call wait times 1 hour+. How they justify their claim to have an award winning customer service is beyond comprehension. Avoid Plusnet broadband service.

I have been with Plusnet for 15 years and have not had an issue with them. TBH I have no idea why other folks reviewing them appear to have so many issues! Many of the issues folks appear to have are related to their own phone line between their house and the exchange - they would have the same issue with ALL ISP's and its up to BT to fix it not the ISP. The router Plusnet supplies is junk - but really - does anyone rely on these £5 routers - all 'Free' routers are junk including the BT Home Hubs. Goto your local PC world and pick up a decent ASUS or Netgear if you require reliable comms. I am an IT professional so I have little need for Plusnet's support line. Whenever I have contacted them its been done online rather than over the phone and the issue/query has been dealt with efficiently. You'll struggle to get through on the phone aye, but honestly who resorts to voice comms these days. If your internet is down, use your smartphone to raise a ticket with them!

Worst service provider ever! If you're looking to change broadband provider and can't afford to be without internet connection I strongly recommend that you do not take out a contract with Plusnet!!!

Before opening an account with them I made it very clear that I worked from home and therefore could not be without broadband. They assured me that the transition would be smooth and that I wouldn't have a break in my connection - I took their word for it as I've never had a break in service when changing provider before. My mistake... Plusnet didn't provide me with broadband until a week after they were meant to! They forgot to post the router, therefore it wasn't sent until I phoned to ask why I'd not received it and therefore it didn't arrive until 3 days after I was meant to be connected. Upon receiving the router I still couldn't access the internet because Plusnet hadn't sorted out my connection - it took them an additional 3 days to do that... During that time Plusnet sent me an email everyday with a predicted connection date & each email proposed a later date. So everyday I had to phone them (and literally spend hours on hold) to try and insure that my connection was not going to continue to be set back to a later and later date... For my pains I was met with a series of contradictions & absolutely no help.

If I could have afforded to risk further potential delay to my connection I would have canceled my new contract with Plusnet and gone elsewhere! Plusnet have offered to refund me for the days I was without broadband (how magnanimous of them) and as a 'good will' gesture have offered me one month's free broadband at the end of my contract - thereby locking me in to another years contract... so no good will there, just greed. Needless to say I will not remain with them...

Moved from talk talk regarding security issues but had trouble from day one with lack of correct billing and plus net failing to take payment but insisting it is not their problem. Speed is okay at best of times but regularly drops out or slows down to a crawl. Not satisfied with their service.

I'm ashamed to be from the same city as these people. Always have at least two drop-outs a day which they say is acceptable, funny how i never had any with my previous provider. Internet just stops sometimes but with the router blue light telling me all is fine. Customer service is non existent, promise to get back to you but normally don't, ignore emails, and just give you waffle over the phone. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I have mixed views on Plusnet. I recently switched to them and the handover was smooth. I then upgraded to fibre broadband but the speed was about half that predicted. Engineer attended to fix and the speed has been excellent since. However, in replacing the old socket, he disconnected ADSL from the other one in the house without telling me (having already told me I could plug my router in on the other socket but I would probably get a slower speed). Calls to get this resolved have wasted a lot of time; 30 mins in a queue and then 15 mins to raise a complaint. The call handlers try hard but they are obviously constrained by poor processes and the actual provider, our good old friends BT and Openreach.

I have after 3 1/2 years cancelled my broadband and phone package only to find they are going to charge £160 cancellation charges!! This is because I upgraded to a supposedly faster speed service in Jan 16 - but this has not stopped the randon outages or improved the speed. No amount of discussion with them will change their minds, the fact that PlusNet is just another name for BT is very clear from their attitude to customers. Stay away from them.

My experience has been: Poor wifi signal; unreliable (stops working, just when you don't want it to, for no reason); inconsistent customer service.

10/10 for anyone who loves holding music and incompetence.

A company that advertises itself as having great customer services.
Signed up for fibre broadband, a week later I receive a text telling me BT have uninstalled the line and I therefore need to pay them a £50 activation fee - why is there not a system in place for them to say 'by the way BT, don't deactivate that line because we'll need it'?
Also, on the website it says that the activation is free, but this is different from the line installation - fair enough but this needs to be clearer.
When phoning I was in the queue for 30 - 50 mins on every occasion.
Final part of my rant: calling after hours and selecting the options for anything other than the tech support team (eg cancellations team) just transfers you to the tech support team, without saying anything like 'by the way this department is closed, so we are transferring you' just leaves you on hold for 40 mins until you finally get someone who can't do anything for you.
    Absolute shambles.

Started out good but sadly in last two years its gone downhill. 30mins or more to reach on phone. Overpriced. Offering new customers the good deals but old ones can go hang..I am leaving them after over 4 years.

Customer service is very poor and appalling. They made me to wait more than hour and a half just to change my address and get the refund because of the house move and to upgrade top speed or check the line at least if it's working properly. House move was arranged over 6weeks and they didn't even bothered to change it to my current address and didn't refund me the money for a month that we haven't used their broadband or phone services. On top of that when I went through technical team he says that we could have fibre optic broadband and transfers it to customer service without even checking the line is working or not. When I reach the customer service they say that there isn't a fibre optic line in place at the property?
They don't seem to know about their systems to check what's there what isn't. Finally when I got crossed about the again she said that a manager would ring me in an hour. I also recently found out that for leaving plus net in spite of finishing the contract they charge you leaving fee?
    Ridiculous service.
