    One * = most unsatisfactory.
After a number of complaints to BT and various line checks etc. I am still frequently getting download speeds of just 0 .11Mbs which seems to be quite usual throughout the village. I am paying for better than this and not getting it. All I get from BT is a verbal shrug of the shoulders and offer of yet another line test.

If you are happy to wait weeks on end and speak to lovely customer service people who are unable to provide an actual date for installation then this is the company for you. If you are seeking efficient and reliable service then look elsewhere! 2 months in and no end in sight...quite unbelievable!

AVOID bt hub 5 keeps turning off by its self when you ring them they don't want to know keep sending you to different people to talk to. Cant send engineer out to repair issue for 1 week so you pay for a service that you don't get.they are quick enough to take your money and in return don't want to sort the issue out.

Wifi has never really worked, even sat next to the box. Progressively gotten worse as time went on, even with extenders. Called more times than I can count for someone to fix it and they send someone out every time, but there is never anything fixed. We get told every time that it's fine coming into the house so it must be the house that is the issue. Doesn't make sense considering it doesn't work even when sat next to the box. Constantly on my mobile data so not even worth bothering. Paid around £53 a month and its a scam. Now moved to Virgin paying £25 a month and we don't even need extenders. A load of rubbish and AVOID AT ALL COSTS

BT don’t deserve any stars but I couldn’t write this review without putting one.

Around 2 months ago I called them 3 times as my hub kept timing out. As it was 11 years old I was told I would need a new one so a text was sent telling me my hub had been dispatched. It didn’t arrive so I went through this process 3 times after which they admitted they had never really sent my hubs!!!!

I was passed from pillar to post and ended up with a man who told me I was on an old service and could get a much better one for half price which would have been 25.00 for the phone and broadband. I agreed to be passed to the person who could set this up for me. He told me the service would be 67.00 and that I would need to pay 9.00 for the delivery of a new hub when it had previously been free.

I couldn’t believe the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing and they weren’t even prepared to send me the hub free of charge for previous poor service. Needless to say I’ve left them and am with Vodafone now. They are charging me 30.00 and I have a better service.

When I cancelled I was advised by what I think is the retention team to either send the old hub back or bin it as it was 11 years old, didn’t work and was therefore no good. Well I binned it and today I got an envelope with a bag to return the hub in and an email telling me to return it or I would be charged 43.00.

I rang and complained telling the man on the phone I had put the old hub in the bin as advised by them and he said, ‘well you’ll just have to pay 43.00 then I didn’t advise you.’ I challenged this telling him he represents BT. I then asked to speak to a manager but was denied this until he had found my account. He was very sarcastic and he asked me how much I paid and what date my last payment was. My bill differed each month so I gave an average and as I couldn’t give the exact date of my last payment he happily told me I couldn’t speak to a a manager. They had always dealt with me before. There are other questions they can ask.

What’s sad is I am 56 years old and have been a BT customer all my adult life. Their service used to be brilliant which is what kept me all these years. Ive never known a company’s service to go down so much.

I would love say something nice about BT, but i'm using a Mobile Dongle to write this as they STILL haven't got my internet set up after failing to show up TWO WEEKS AGO. We had to book our appointment for today but as expected, they didn't come. I don't know why, they can't tell me why. They even tell me I have to wait 2 more days for a person to come down to do it now. Useless company, useless customer service. Do NOT buy from this company, or you will just end up regretting it.

BT is a terrible phone and internet provider.
    The overall service is poor.
Internet speed slow, customer support is awful.
In my case I have had no phone line for 6 weeks and my internet connection is lucky to last an hour at a time before dropping.
THE MAIN PROBLEM is that when you call for support, you get put through to an organisation that is impossible to communicate to. THEY DONT fix your problem and LIE that they will send engineers. If the engineers come they DONT DO THEIR JOB.
    BT ARE THE WORST.
Go to virgin, sky or plus net.
This review site didn't give me the option to leave a star based rated, but If it did I would give them the highest possible negative rated possible.
    BT are finished.

BT have consistently, over many years, set their standards low and failed to achieve them. Their customer service is nothing short of a disgrace, and they make it as hard as possible to contact them. Having just (stupidly) given them one last chance and upgraded to Infinity, it shouldn't come as a surprise that my line speeds are slower than they were with my old package. Avoid them like the plague- they are simply shocking

Called BT and spoke with 3 different agents as well as speaking to someone online chat, I have been with another provider and contacted BT a couple of days ago as I was keen to switch, well, what can I say, I thought I would be offered great service whilst in the process. I could not complete online, hence calling in, it appears the offers do not apply over the phone, even though it would not let me proceed online, that could not tell me when I could get phone line and only after phone line contract, at some point they would inform me of what kind of broadband price I could have ???? BT you are a disgrace to even imply your one of the best, I thought you guys would have been keen to encourage new custom, if that's the service you offered me and then wasn't sure what or when I could have a package, goodness knows what kind of poor after service I would have received, lucky escape I think

    Horrible, shocking Customer Services

I have been promised 12mbpi speed of internet, and I'm getting 1.5 Mbps.
I don't have access to BT TV, and yet I'm paying £37.7 a month.

I called BT, and I have more than 1000 minutes worth of airtime with them, I never managed to talk with the right people to get the service cancelled, or price negotiated. All I get is people working from India who doesn't sort out anything, and they keep transferring the calls.

In most of the cases, I genuinely think they intentionally hang up the phone on me. I'm so disgusted and frustrated with the whole process. Can Ofcom please help out on this. I'm unhappy with the BT services; I just want to cancel the services.

Any internet provider out there who intends to take this desperate customer who pays the bills on time and loyal.

Shocking shocking shocking shocking shocking shocking shocking shocking shocking

My line and Broadband is and has been useless for 15 years. The quality and bandwidth has continued to fall and is now regularly under 1 Mhz. I cannot use any of the products that go with the company advertising and cannot even use I-Player on the lowest quality and yet they are charging me for all these features.
This an incompetent and criminal company. There is no alternative for me since the crumbling copper infrastructure is owned by BT. All other ISP's suffer the same since they have to use the same junk. Actually the survey does not reflect my anger since there is no ZERO to be recorded.

Avoid this rubbish internet provider. Their service and customer service is useless. I have been having problems with their internet for the last 4 months. Whenever I connect using wifi to any of my devices, it says "no internet available". When friends/ family tries to connect to my wifi, it says the same thing. I rang BT on numerous occasions explaining the problem and all they can tell me over the phone is " they have done all checks on their end and everything is fine from their end". So there is nothing they can do for me because everything seems fine from their end. They said that I am getting the best signal strength although I am not getting any internet service. Do you know how frustrating it is to be told that an internet provider cannot do anything to try to resolve a problem you are facing because they cannot see a problem on their end? They wouldn't send a new hub or even an engineer to find the problem. Just absolute nothing I got from them with poor customer service. I expected better from a big company but all I got was dirt, considering I am still paying £30 a month for this service I'm not getting and not being able to come out of an 18month contract without having to pay a huge sum to exit. It is unfair, they are unreliable and useless, customer service was beyond poor and staff are rude, unhelpful and speaks to you with attitude. This company has stressed me out to the core. Once they have you, they feel they can take your money and give you 0 to nothing service. I wish I read their bad reviews before I signed up to them or I would have gone elsewhere. This company is a major disgrace. Once I am out I will never go back. Disgusting service, nasty company.

I reported a fault with my broadband ( receiving 1mg instead of 55mg) on the 7th December. I was informed after at least 10 phone calls it was a fault at a substation and it would be fixed shortly, now we are at the 23rd December with no resolution, I have called at least 20 times not including 4 times today where I was promised a call from a senior manager none which were received. I have now made a further phone call and been told it has been passed to a case manager and someone will call me back within 48 hrs not including Christmas Day, I asked if they would give me a resolution date and they no it will just be call to let me know who my case manager will be. I HAVE TO SAY BT OFFER THE WORSE customer service I have ever known.

I had BT for both broadband, TV and telephone for a few years. In 2012 I switched my telephone service to Utilitywarehouse as I got a better deal from them as they also covered my gas and electric. After receiving a new broadband box and homehub I have received appalling signal, with many TV programs not recording due to a lack of service. My phone does not get full signal from under 2m. DO NOT USE BT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THEIR SERVICE IS APPALLING

What a total waste of time Bt are the business disruption is absolute top notch.
From getting the addresses wrong to not actually turning up or phoning anyone to let us know that they are not coming even after waiting all morning. The engineer could not even ring.
    I could go on forever.
Our new phone system will never be in and working. Incompetent company. That is only interested in signing the contract.

BT custemer for phone many years and broadband for a few years. Switch to Fibre but had 9 days without broadband due line not set up. First person claim ethernet cable and would take 5 works to receive this to sort problem which was wrong and needed engineer. 6 days after second person said engineer required. spoke to rude line manager offer £10 as complaint. then tried to charge £85 for the engineer which was the incorrect as previous showed under £50. finally had engineer solve broadband and he confirmed normally no charge for fibre set up. spoke to second link manager about complaint again poor service and like previous manager lied about complaint service at BT. not all staff are bad as previously spoken to other members in other offices and ok. Broadband staff are just poor at everything. BT just rubbish and I would never use them again

I was misold my BT contract under the premiss that we were in a BT Infinty area and therefore my Internet speed would suit all our needs.
We were told the sales call was recorded?
However, we are not in a Infinity area, and our internet speed was chronic - the best we got was 2 mghz when at point of sale we were promised a minimum of 12 mghz! Even the catch-up TV buffered continuously!
We live in a busy town, we have 3 children who need the internet for Uni and schoolwork and my wife requires it for work.
We have had several calls to the Technical Dept and have been told to turn off this, they'll fix it remotely, switch cable points - none of this worked - no-one called to help resolve the matter so we have had no other choice than to go back to Virgin and pay the two contracts until BT expired this month.
We phoned to cancel BT and we are fuming because a 'Brian' from Scotland, who was very amicaable, told us that despite knowing the above, we would still have to pay a £30 broadband disconnection charge!!!! And give 30 days cancellation notice!!!
Bearing in mind they didn't even come to put it in, the box was delivered and the internet was connected in the exchange!!!
I asked to speak to a Customer Service Manager but was told there was no point?

BT you ought to be ashamed to charge us this - we should really be receiving an apology from you for mis-selling the product originally and a refund for the last 5 months that we have had to pay for both Virgin and BT!!!
    DISGUSTING!!!

Started a complaint over a year ago as our speeds are rubbish and connections often drop. Was told we needed fibre, so I went with that. Nothing changed. Fast forward to today, I have furnished Bt with proof that we never get anywhere near 35mbs (we get 12-16.7), but they're only interested in going round in circles. Tried to take our service elsewhere, but the line is not able to be taken over! Bt have confirmed that we are out of contract, there is no legitimate reason why anywhere else says that we can't change.... useless. They sent me a smart hub but it makes no difference

I have just had to deal with the worst customer service i have ever encountered. The BT broadband in my home has slowed to the point of unusability and I was just told repeatedly by BT customer service that i am a liar, that the service is working fine and that BT are liable for WIFI anyway. I was told that all my internet enabled devices (6 in total) must all be broken and finally that BT feel the matter resolved and they are not sending out an engineer. Avoid BT!

    Administration!!!

    Are they going into administration???

    Awful!
    No line for days.
    Paying for zero service.
Customer service -worst ever, they put you on hold and hang up.
    They lie.
Never turn up on the agreed date -turned up the day after.
Did not do the full job on the day ie all my sockets around the house.
Call them they say I have no account with them when I've been billed already.
    Constantly on hold.
Eventually when you do get hold of somebody they advise their servers are down.

There's no hope here with this company.. This sounds crazy although this is BT, they seem very dodgy as in setting up lines and contracts, with no service, and perhaps taking money.. Which is possibly fraudulent, as there's an exchange of contracts... Goods for money.. But here there is money but no goods ie no service. Is the company perhaps going into administration and perhaps trying to trap customers into contracts they want to get out of..?? And then trying to charge extra money for it, set up, non existence line rental, broadband, cancellation, and then one month extra rental for the 1month noticed period.. If this is the case then this is a money maker scheme for BT!

Customers be warned and don't bother with rubbish service.

I had been with SKY for over 14 years few small problems but always resolved quickly.

BT I am shocked at the very poor service I have had
No internet for best part of 5 weeks cut off while BT connected me
    and 3 engineers appointments the
forth one did not show up!
then its been no quicker than Sky they said it would speed up I did call BT to say that it was no quicker than my old Sky but I could not understand the man at the Indian call centre .! And im sure he did not understand me! I did ask for a call back from a UK call centre but never got a call back.
"this has happened 3 times now"
we use our BT phone 3or4 a day
my first bill was £90 and my second one was £90 each month when I called them up and complained
all I got was "well you have used you phone"
I was told my bill would be same as my sky tv phone internet package inc all call £45 each month its been twice that
the tv package is poor my repeat player keeps cutting out you need a masters degree in nuclear science to use the remote
    totally disappointed shocking BT

BT & BT business has caused us lot of problems. They have most incompetent work force I have come across. For three and half years they charged twice amount they were supposed to charge us. BT has terminated our main number by mistake. They have put us on two broadband and two telephone lines. They were supposed to charge us one telephone line and one broadband. BT has terminated our broadband by mistake. They have accepted that it was BT's fault but they are not managing to rectify their mistake for twelve day. If care for your business or you need your services please avoid BT at any cost. I am happy to provide all reference number for my troubles.

Absolutely shocking, would not recommend to anyone, waited nearly a month for connection still waiting, was told if I cancel and go to another provider that everyone goes through open reach and I would start all over again and would end up waiting longer, guess what a week after that get a call from bt saying they have cancelled my order by mistake and guess what got to start again, wished I'd gone elsewhere, it's more like customer we don't care.
