I am completely satisfied with VMs service especially now we have 5Mb upload just around the corner. Customer service has always been good. There have never been any outages and speeds are virtually always at or slightly above 50Mb.
Can't wait for 100Mb/10Mb

Got the 50mb broadband, its fantastic when it works, I moved from bethere broadband which gave me 15mb which never dropped even in peak times, I got a bit greedy and went for the 50mb with virgin, most unreliable broadband ever I sometimes sit with less than 10mb speeds very annoying when you paying a premium for it. Virgin is advertising 100mb broadband coming soon, why don't they get their current packages to work properly before they launch probably another false unreliable broadband speed.

I have been completely satisfied with my package and supplier. I have consistently achieved the full 50Mb/1.5Mb down/up speed I am supposed to. There have never been any outages. The supplied wireless 'n' router has provided high broadband speeds throughout my home network. VM should consider a router with gigabit ethernet capabilities now. Also I am looking forward to their 10:1 download/upload ratio. About time too.
Customer services have always come up with answers to technical queries, although sometimes I have had to wait a long time for a response.
The TV service is really good, keeping up to date with new technology and with good deals with Sky.
NB I am currently on VMs 200Mb download trial in Coventry. Your speed tester cannot cope with that speed. Time for you to upgrade especially with 100Mb rolling out any time now.

Virgin offer a great service and the bundle package for £19.00 is great then they stick £11.99 line rental on it and that is what spoils it if someone is having phone tv and broadband the least you can do is knock the £11.99 line rental off i now have a tv which we only watch gold on a land line i dare not use except at weekends when calls are free and a broadband connection that is great the first company to offer all this or just broadband without line rental will corner the market on telephone landlines and internet users i am more than happy with my broadband but if it says broadband for £5.00 then it should be for £5.00 with no hidden costs if there is line rental to pay then this should be made clear so you cannot get broadband for £5.00 but for £16.99 and there should be no rise after 3 months if you want to get customers then be clear on prices and what you are selling it is price that has driven me away from virgin and by this date 09/10/2010 i have only been with virgin for 2 weeks if there is no change it will end.

I used their service with an XL broadband, recently got an email from Virgin Media Sales to the account holders email address stating I could upgrade to XXL Broadband for only an additional £8 per month, phoned the number listed and after numerous people they told me I would have to pay an extra £18 per month for the offer even though there is nothing in the t's & c's which support this additional tenner!
Customer Services has one person who helped, though the rest were just interested in transferring me to other departments stating they couldn't help but perhaps x could!
Currently in the complaints process, sending a copy to Ofcom as I believe this breaks with advertising regulations.
Wish everyone else the best of luck...
P.s. 20mb line regular testing achieves 18mb+

Very reliable service providing good speed - maybe need to refresh the modem once in a while to maintain top speeds plus they provided a new modem last year which obtained the 20mb or at least 18-19mb. Can't fault them except their service is expensive and what I pay bears no relation to the low prices currently advertised. I am thinking of changing but I know I will miss the reliable & fast cable service so might just see if they can offer a better price deal. Their tv is good and I can't really fault them.

Shocked at how good the customer service was. Called them last night re problem with phone line. They offered engineer visit next day and £10 compensation without me even asking. Opted for visit next week to suit me. Just got home, card through the door to say they popped round anyway and have fixed it. 10/10 customer service. Cable services pretty good too.

I have the XL package which is up to 20mbs broadband I have never had a download speed of more than 12mbs & that was in the middle of the night when traffic was almost down to nil, well, that is still quite fast i hear you say, & more than i would get on any telephone line, anywhere in the country, but, I'm paying £37.00 a month for the privilege. Ok, I get a discount because i have the xl tv package as well but its still a lot of money especially as its not reliable, Ive just recently had an engineer out to rectify a fault which stopped my broadband from working for almost two weeks, there is at the moment a wait of one week before an engineer can come out to you, this tells me that either they are desperatly short of staff, or, they are having so many problems that their engineers are struggling to cope, either way I'm not impressed. Finally, the most irratating thing is having to try and understand the person you are speaking to on the phone, as more often as not it is someone in India that speaks with a strong dialect and so fast that it is hard to make out what they are saying.
P.S The TV service isn't much more reliable either.

Absolute rubbish.
I pay £20 amonth for this service. I came in from work at 11 pm to find my download speed was between 0.1 & 0.12 mbps.
Virgin throttle the speed in the hope you will upgrade to a more expensive package, It's about time they gave the service you pay for. I can see a court case coming.

I have been with them for about 5 years now. Customer service has improved a lot and if I need to call they no longer use premium rate numbers and calls are answered very promptly. The main problem is the email service which seems to very problematic lately often being down hours on end and smetimes most of the day! I also have recently had a lot of problem acessing webmail when in the USA which I am hoping has been resolved now that its changed to Googlemail. My speed is usually quite good but never get the 10mb more like 7mb on average.

I get 9/10mb, this is fast enough for my needs so Im satisfied.
Cable is generally faster than copper but costs more, you get what you pay for

Well where to start ...I thougt I would get a great deal on tv phone & bb for the past 10 months I had to call 5 times about their bb so then when I rang to find how near I was to end of contract I was told if I wanted to give 6 weeks notice I would have to pay early termination or ring back in 2 weeks to give a normal months notice to get out of that clause.Over the next 2 days they came back & quoted £27 for just tv when I originally enquired about just tv being quoted £67 then over the weekend they cut my phone off which I hadn't asked for then when rectifying this I was told it would be 2hours now the tv has stopped working. I don't think I will be ressuming as a tv only customer now !

Virgin has one major flaw, no guaranteed upload speed. This means they cannot guarantee you can send emails, upload videos to Youtube, put pics on Facebook or anything else for that matter of fact. I get 0.08 meg upload speed, meaning it could take 3 hours to send a 1meg email. Not good enough.

Started off fine (around three years ago) but has since deteriorated to a service with constant outages and, at times, snail pace connection speeds (0.5 meg on todays test). With a call centre in Bombay, it all adds up to one very unsatisfied customer - if it hadn't have been for the cable TV package (which IS good), would have changed months ago.

Installed 2 weeks ago, a fault on connection meant our internet couldn't be processed for a day after installation. This was followed by a 2 day fault in my area preventing all internet from working. We then got internet for 3 days before it failed again, a technician couldn't get out to us for 5 days and then on the date he was supposed to arrive he didn't show. Quite simply the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced, offshore helpdesks that don't understand english coupled with onshore staff who lie just to get you off the phone. I have put two written complaints through as well verbal complaints without response. Over a 2 week period I have had to make 22 calls to their helpdesk, I've made a record of every call and this has been included on a complaint. I cancelled the service tonight as it was making me go grey!
My advice: DONT GET VIRGIN!

Don't know why other customers complain about virgin costing so much to contact as they use a free phone service, i have no complaints get 48 - 49mb regularly on a hard wired connection & using wireless it drops due to it changing priorities on the wireless router as hard wired gets main use for ps3. I am very satisfied & problems ( 3 )i've had over the last 10 years have been dealt with promptly. No real complaints other than them insisting on installing the 50mb modem for an extra £35 when i could have done it myself.

recently lost Broadband connection. Spent best prt of a day trying to sort this out with a useless number of Virgin staff who were adamant the fault was at the router end which I knew it wan't. Eventually 3 hours later , lost days work it turned out to be a fault at their box causing a very high S/R ratio. This occured on the Tuesday Morning and no engineer available until Friday. I am now unable to work from home having to travel into the office costing me additional travel costs on top of the already lost days productivity and another half day at least on Friday.... Not an appology or anything Awful Customer service....

The Speed is not what I expected it to be and is mostly very slow for a company who has upgraded to give the better speeds they are definatly lagging behind and don't deliver what they promise yet another case of being ripped of by these huge corporations who are only interested in getting their money from our pockets into theirs. Not a very good company at all they are all sharks who promise the earth yet deliver a very poor service.

Quite happy with almost 9meg download speed as we are in a rural location. But upload speed is poor by comparison. Luckily we don't do much uploading.

75 percent of the time im lucky to reach one meg when i pay for ten.they are so inconsistent with the speed i recieve.i ring up the customer service line which costs a bomb, get past talking to a machine finally about to talk to a real person and it cuts out every time like it does it on purpose so you ring up and spend more money.all the swear words in the english language is what i think of this rubbish company.if BT's line installation didnt cost so much id be gone long ago from this company.

Virgin cable internet in the Hatfield area is terrible and should be avoided at ALL costs, the d/l speed is awful the majority of the time and the ping to london has been in excess of 8 seconds (once) and regularly exceeds 2 seconds. They have sent engineers to rectify the problem who appear to do nothing. In short, go with another supplier, even if it has to be good ol' reliable copper wired.

Poor english, lack understanding, read from scripts..... why do they pretend to be called 'David' or 'Simon' ... to make us believe they are in uk? Complete joke.

Average is what I call Virgin Media Broadband. Customer service technical support not that great. whilst reporting a fault they said its been fixed just as my modem went off. they then change their mind and said its a modem fault. I know its not a modem fault (I am a network technician) most of the time the service is stable, a little slower than what I would like. Speed restictions are in place between 5pm and 11pm. when calling them they have automated selection which talks way too much. I would say to anyone thinking of joining them. most of the time its a fair service 80% of the time the other 20% I would say poor but not completey bad.
