Shocking. Moved from Sky to BT as I received a 10% discount on all services (phones, tablets etc) by being an EE customer.
Been with BT for 1month. Logged 3 faults on the broadband line, they state the checks confirm there are no issues.
I work from home and am unable to connect to the WiFi which makes doing my job all the more difficult. Trying to speak with someone is a joke.
Never had a connection issue with Sky.
I'll continue my battle......

Awful serice which has progressively got worse. I didn't want but was placed on full fibre, lost most of the services I previously had and then lost all broadband when I was on the phone to BT. As soon as I can get away from this truly awful service I will.

I UPGRADED to fiber due to ongoing connection issues. After the upgrade the BB went down for a week before an engineer was able to attend and sort the faulty workmanship carried out by a contractor. My 8 person HMO Broadband Connection was down throughout. I have to compensate my resident for usage they had to purchase from there providers. This cost me £120. I was compensated by BT to the sum of £18.66 after a 30min wait and online conversation. What a joke!!

Diabolical. I switched to a different broadband provider and disconnected bt line. They continued to bill me after contract ended. Spent 3 months phoning texting and writing, no adequate response. Now my credit score is damaged and its not my fault. They kept closing my complaint down without my permission. No way to feedback so hence my feedback now on social media.

Worst customer service i've experienced in a long time. Even since we left them they keep messing things up, requiring we send out kit back and sending the return back to the wrong address. Much more expensive than the competition too, especially once your initial contract ends.

Absolutely horrible company, decided to cancel after a year because they could not meet the speeds in which other companies in the area could, demanded an enormous cancellation fee, it in no way reflected in the previous payments over the course of the year. I wouldn’t return to this company even if they paid me. Absolute scumbags!

I would give them a rating of 0 as they are not a good service. Charged me for 3 months for service which I cancelled and not using which they did not admit their error. Absolutely disgusting service and would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Shockingly bad broadband. Doesn’t even reach the speed guarantee they advertise. Drops connection most evenings and throttles back. Don’t recommend at all. AVOID!

Took the halo package out in October 2023, 900mps Internet and 12 months xbox game pass free for 50 quid a month. All grand the first month. Second month I was charged £10 for xbox game pass. After a number of phone calls and a good amount of time on hold, got an apology and £10 refunded back onto my account. Next month was happy to see there was no additional charge, but then went to switch on the xbox and it wouldn't work. Rang up multiple times again and they said they had accidentally cancelled my xbox gamepass. Was told the handiest way for them to fix the problem was to basically cancel my full bt package and sign me up for a new contact starting today for the same package at the same price, which I was happy enough as I was only a few months into the contract. Was told I would get my email to activate the game pass within 10 mins later. 24 hours later still no email so again back on the phone. They now tell me, as my account previously had a gamepass code I can't get another. I told them it was BT that cancelled the game pass not me, and they have never gave me my 12 months free as promised. They have escalated my problem after I told them just to cancel the full package and stated someone will be in touch within 5 working days. At this stage I don't care and am just fed up of being passed from pillar to post. Not good enough, don't advertise gamepass for free if you can't give it. The broadband worked fine tbh just customer service and not delivering on what was promised is the let down.

Aside from the terrible customer service and our internet constantly dropping, BT stole £294 from our bank account via direct debit.
They admitted they were at fault over a month ago but still haven’t refunded the amount. We tried to claim it back through our bank first, but BT stopped this from their end. One member of staff then said they’d paid the amount via BACS, but contradicted himself in the same phonecall, saying this was impossible as we had cancelled our direct debit. They then sent a cheque which bounced, promised another cheque which hasn’t arrived, and have now emailed claiming they paid via BACS again.
The attitude of the staff in the call centre is disgraceful, we have been blamed for their error and it is like talking to a brick wall most of the time. Just when we think we have got somewhere with this, we go back to square one and we still don’t have our money back. At this point, they are thieves who have stolen from a small business.

A rip off and beyond incompetent!
We have been overpaying for sub-standard internet for years (over £60 for less than 30MB which often crashed entirely).
After having so many technician visits they have failed to fix it. Every time it goes down I get stuck on the phone for literally hours (shortest call 45min) with BT where I have to explain things over and over again, then get another useless technician booked in who often leaves us in a worse state than after the visit, so I spend more hours getting it fixed.

I would really very strongly recommend avoiding BT. Their customer service is non-existent. They massively overcharge - it is not only that the prices have become unbelievably high, they also sent erroneous bills, admitted they were erroneous, but then they would just not correct.... When the broadband stopped working properly, in all but one case it took a very long time and many hours over the phone to have it fixed. No possibility to escalate anything to managers, complaints process non-existent. Some of their agents are as rude as can get. Just spare yourselves the misery. I am so relived to have finally left.

is one of the worst internet service provider. Minimum speed agreed was 50 mbps but I was getting only 5-10 mbps, their engineer visited my place and agreed the issue of speed. After closing my account in Jan, Instead of giving me refund for the past one month they charge me for one more month (Feb) and forced me to pay exit fee as well. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.

Worst customer experience ever! Upgrading to 900Mb and taking out TV package, 3 days to process the order, then the order is so messed up that BT can't fix it and need help from EE. EE say best thing to do is cancel the order and start again and as once again BT cannot transfer a call to the EE person they promise to get the EE person to call be straight away. Obviously this does not happen, no call. Prior to this the people on social media also assured me when putting me through the next person would have all my details of what was wrong, once again they did not. The whole BT and EE coming together is a joke, people not trained, systems not working, websites saying different things, details on the BT app useless. I strongly advise against moving to BT or EE if you are a new customer, I would give it 6 to 12 months to sort this mess out. ANyone know the email address of BT and EE CEOs?

If they weren't this big they could easily be labelled as scammers. I've been with BT since they were under the EE name and when my contract ended, they didn't bother to tell me and put the prices up. I paid extra like an idiot for over a year because I don't check my contracts. Once I've renewed it it went down to a decent amount and now it's getting ridiculously pricey. I'm paying nearly another half bill compared to the initial cost and other suppliers aredoing cheaper deals for better speeds. Also, if you fail to pay on time, they will add extra yo the bill. Never encountered this before in a reputable business, just the odd loansharks. I do not recommend at all just for the scammer like behaviour of the company

Simply appalling. We were persuaded by a BT rep to leave our last provider and switch to a complete BT package of Broadband Halo and BT mobile.
The worst decision I have ever made.
Our Internet has been off for 3 weeks now with no indication as to when it will be repaired. There seems to be no communication between BT and Open Reach despite being part if the same company. Their complaints department NEVER returns your calls and the irony if it all is we are on their top package for customer service. Becausecwe are a Halo customer we have no landline as it is broadband based and BT mobile is very poor reception from the house. A nightmare from beginning to end and the moment we are reconnected we will leave BT and EE and never ever return.

Been with BT longer than I care to remember. I rate servoce above pride everytime. My most recent experience is typical of their services. I received an email saying they had noticed a drop off in speed every now and again over the last 3 weeks and that they would look at it and I would be contacted over the next 5 days. Within 24 hours there was a knock at the door and an Openreach engineer came in checked the set up changed the connection box fully tested the system over the next 30 minutes. Worth the money

My worst nightmare! Rip off, thieves, non existent customer service, incompetent employees, poor service, absolutely not worth it. I've been with them for 6 years, first broadband, then added TV and mobile. Coincidence or not since EE took over, everything went bad. No mobile signal, no Internet signal, no TV signal. They forced me to upgrade fie a higher band saying Internet will work, but it hasn't and I couldn't stop contract. They charged me and extra add on for netflix which I didn't ask for, they didn't want to let me finish contract before April although I am paying for nothing. You have to wait up to 6 hours to get through to customer service, and if you are lucky they will move you from one department to another with no success. They will just walk you through all tests and procedures and codes and staff that you simply quit because you would need 3 days and lots of patience while they are taking your money without any shame. Run away from them! Run!!!

Even Escalation to Exec level complaints team was a waste of time and after they initially agreed that 6 months of unreliable service was unacceptable and needed to build a case to take it to Director level at Openreach to resolve they then called and out of the blue are now claiming that 5 drops in connection per day for a minimum of 10 minutes at a time is now their ‘acceptable standard‘ so like it or lump it there’s nothing more they can do which has overnight went from really helpful and agreeing with my complaint to couldn’t give a monkey’s and take it to the Ombudsman if you want (which we have no alternative but to do given that as BT are the only provider who can offer any speeds over 3mb at our address and they all have to use BT networks anyway)…..shocking and a complete U turn on their initial attitude. Suspect they are refusing to repair old network (despite still charging customers for unreliable service) as focus is on meeting targets for new super fast network with future overhead cables to everyone’s property)
Hopefully now BT has been taken over by EE they will get rid of their couldn’t care less attitude and bring standards up but don’t hold your breath as BT staff attitude is probably now ingrained with ‘do as little as humanly possible’ and will be difficult to change.
The fact that BT don’t even comment on reviewers nightmares speaks volumes about their couldn’t care less attitude.

For dubious reasons our housing developer told us we had to use BT for our internet for the first year in our new build despite our apprehension - and what a year.
It took weeks just to get the internet running as set-up had been done wrong 3 times, resulting in multiple trips from “engineers”. Even when we recently managed to change to Plusnet (who offer way better internet speeds for much less money and both use OpenReach) our internet wouldn’t work because BT messed up giving the correct serial numbers to OpenReach. More completely avoidable idiocy.
The customer service as every other review states is worse than abysmal. When I called to confirm I was changing supplier one lady just sighed and hung up on me I guess because she couldn’t be bothered.
The next lady then denied all knowledge of Plusnet informing them of the switch so they had full intent to keep charging us. It took a very long time to get it cancelled on that phonecall then they sent me a bill for over twice my monthly payments. When I contested this they told me it was a mistake and I would be refunded.
It looks now like that was a total lie to make me go away as you have to pay the bill regardless so you don’t harm your credit score. Trying to contest this again has been totally futile, the money is just gone.
I’ve heard from multiple sources they will just pretend not to have received your router when you finish with their services just to try and charge you more so KEEP YOUR RECEIPT.
I would recommend switching to literally any other company today.

They mis sold me on delivery times they couldn’t deliver to, I have been lied 3 times by there customer support teams, they couldn’t even get a mini hub to work, they are liars and do not care what they say to keep your business, I have been left without any broadband over Xmas. Go somewhere else you will get a better cheaper service from companies that care, because BT do not care or have any systems in place to help you.

THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!
Don't tie yourself into a contract with them. The call agents are deceitful liars who sneakily lure you in to accept these deals and promotions not properly explaining the increased payments after the discount period then the prices suddenly starts increasing and you are tied into a contract to pay way more than you bargained for. The customer service is terrible. I can't wait to end my current contract with them and never return and I would never recommend them. Their service is a disgrace. The company cons you out of your money and they prey on vulnerable people.

I've been with BT broadband for many years. Im out of contract and trying to get a new deal. There's no customer retention policy/reward as I could get a better deal from their website as a new customer than they could offer me as a current customer - there was a £10 difference—funny way to run a business. So I've cancelled the contract.

BT - shameless people providing worst services than 3rd world counties. Unfortunately, we are victims of BT internet at home. The promised speed of 30mbs is actually 7-11, the promised signal reach of 250 yards is actually 10 yards and they promised us unaffected signal even when we connect 60+ devices, surprise, surprise, the signal starts to lag after 5 devices and it randomly stops working. An utter disregrd to the consumer rights. Failing customers at every single step.
Above all, we cannot cancel because of the contract but they can break every line written in that contract.
Shame shame shame shame
Their license should be revoked and ofcom should take action

My parents broadband ceased to work. They sent an engineer who said he'd found the problem and fixed it, yet it still didn't work. He said the router was now at fault, they sent a new one, still didn't work.
Four phone calls later, and a day of my life languishing in English history, and they now say that we have WiFi, we certainly don't, and therefore there is nothing more that they can do!!!!!!.
Ridiculous outfit.
